Wow. Hadn't he been ill recently? I seem to recall he was hospitalized not long ago. |

Wow, I knew he'd had the surgery and I did read that he had been readmitted to the hospital... |

I'll say a prayer for John Murtha, but thank the good Lord for taking him from us. He served in the US Marines and yet condemned these same US Marines while serving in congress, before these Marines, before they even having a full investigation or hearing. Murtha's criticism of the Iraq war intensified in 2006, when he accused Marines of murdering Iraqi civilians "in cold blood" at Haditha, Iraq, after one Marine died and two were wounded by a roadside bomb. Critics said Murtha unfairly held the Marines responsible before an investigation was concluded and fueled enemy retaliation. He said the war couldn't be won militarily and such incidents dimmed the prospect for a political solution. |

Agreed, while I respect his service to this country, I cannot excuse his condemnation of our Marines. He took a political course for votes while taking as much pork as he could stuff in his district. There is reason to believe he did line his pockets and that of his relatives. |

What are the laws in Pa. governing interim appointments? Will we see another Scott Brown emerge. Let's home so. |

If I remember correctly, there cannot be interim appointments to House seats. Instead, a special election is held. That particular will be without a representative until an election is held. The good news for the ret of the country is that the amount of pork funnelled into his old district has ended. What should be of interest is who will now hold his committee chairmanship - he was Pelosi's lapdog as well. |

Ironic, and probably a big lawsuit... Wonder if his death will be used? |

I'm glad the bastard's dead. His Republican opponent, Bill Russell, a superb and honorable man, has issued a dignified request to hold off on Murtha until a few days have passed. That is dignified of Russell to do that in regards to his campaign - but I see no reason to adhere to that myself. Murtha was a crook, a fat pig of a liar, and a traitor who accused innocent Marines of murder. When caught in his lie, the pig hadn't even the human decency to admit he lied. Murtha was also, hands down, one of THE most corrupt pols that existed in Congress and that is saying a great deal. Death doesn't sanctify anyone - it just makes them dead. Death doesn't erase their sins either; it merely means the jerk can't keep on committing them because he's now going to be six feet under. Like I said, Murtha was a lying, sleazy, pork-addicted old pol who was as corrupt as they come. He was also a lying traitor who stabbed innocent Marines in the back. That's what he was when he was alive and dying doesn't change it. And dying doesn't change either the way I feel about him. Like I said, I'm glad the bastard's dead. I think the Marines will probably give him the respect he did not give to them... |

I'm certain of it. That's why they're Marines. |

When you get your gallbladder taken out by laparoscopic surgery the doctor makes damn sure that you understand all of the complacations and all of the complacations should be written out on the consent for surgery form. |
