Watched part of Hannity last night with Kristen Powers (the DNC mouthpiece who I actually think is quite astute on a number of things). She really lambasted Andrea Mitchell - I was surprised at how vehement she was. Mitchell should be reprimanded (though she won't be) - she was a reporter not a talking head for that piece - yet she let her own opinions (to which she is entitled) get in the way (something that we see all too often these days). This I would say to Mitchell, look at most young people today - they think nothing of writing notes to themselves on their hand to remind themselves of something (yesterday a number of my students wrote a note to themselves on their hands - remember to bring textbook home to read ahead in case we are off school both Tuesday and Wednesday). While not a hand writer myself, I always have a post it note or a scrap of paper that I carry with some pertiment point I want to remember to make when lecturing. Does such a step make one an idiot (as Mitchell would want us to believe of Palin)? No, what it says is that the mind is always working, thinking of the topic at hand, attempting to work out new ways to make a point more clearly or in a more meaningful way for the intended audience.

Gibbs Scrawls Grocery List on Hand in Jab at Palin

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took a swipe at Sarah Palin Tuesday, mimicking the former vice presidential candidate's decision to use her hand as a notepad at the National Tea Party Convention last week.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took a swipe at Sarah Palin Tuesday, mimicking the former vice presidential candidate's decision to use her hand as a notepad at the National Tea Party Convention last week.

At the daily press briefing, Gibb showed his left hand with writing on it, which apparently was his grocery list to purchase ahead of the expected snowstorm.

Scrawled on his hand were :

-- Milk

-- Bread (crossed out)

-- Eggs

-- Hope

-- Change

The press secretary said he crossed out bread, just so I can make pancakes."

Palin had seven words scrawled on her hand during the convention, which led some left-leaning bloggers to mock her, in particular, after she joked about President Obama's extensive use of the teleprompter
.

What an idiot.

I'd read that as "Sarah wins, I give".
