That's a pretty bad fake...there are a number of obvious signs that it's fake... |

At first I wondered where the signatures of the parents were, but then I realized that with this being a copy made in 1964, it was hand typed by the deputy registrar and of course the parents weren't there to sign. (duh) It has the appearance of a genuine document, but it would need to be examined further, to be sure. There should be collaboration available on the name of the deputy registrar and his time of service, to see if it matches. With the book (44B) and the page (5733) listed, it should be possible to verify that the entry in the records is the same as this document. (Barring any governmental interference.) When I was twelve, we were living in Germany again. (Army brat). My father was stationed in Stuttgart, which was very near to the town where I was born. For my birthday, we went to the town hall and they pulled down the appropriate Big Book, dusted it off, and turned to my page so I could see it. Very cool. So far, I don't see anything visible that points me away from this document. But if we want the truth, it must be shown to be true. So I'm also waiting and watching. |

The interesting thing about this document is that it's completely checkable. Pull the big book off the shelf in Kenya and see if you can verify the information on this piece of paper. There's speculation in Freerepublic that the big book may have magically disappeared. Apparently, the dates work out that this document was generated several years after Obama's birth and the timing is right for it to have been generated as a result of the divorce proceeding between Obama's American mother and Kenyan father. |

Wow, we have to authenticate this document, but we just have to take the word of someone in Hawaii, that he saw Obama's birth certificate. No one else is allowed to see the US birth certificate. |

You're balancing the word of the US government, as verified by a Republican official VS a document that popped up on the internet on the very questionable WND. The bar has been set pretty low by the US government but WND has knowing lied and has no credibility. Let's keep in mind that Birth declared Obama's COLB a forgery after putting it through the rigorous scientific process of...viewing a scan of it online. Birthers have adopted the Dave Chappelle stance on how much evidence will satisfy them (language warning). |

The Hawaii one was an obvious fraud, they did use the term African American, back in 1961, when Obama was born, that is how they listed Barrack's father. Back in 1961 they used the trem negro, it wasn't use on the one that Barrack's copy. I is suppose to say what the original says. What happened? |

I just caught a bit of the O'Reilley sham tonight... where he totally mocked and ridiculed the "birthers" and hardly let the guests get a word in. But did anybody besides me hear O'Reilley boast that if he wanted to he could produce a birth certificate overnight? DID Bill actually SAY that? IF HE WANTED TO????? Bring it on Bill! Or are you becoming more and more of empty clouds and no rain? |

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win.” — Mahatma Gandhi O'Reilly doesn't want to address the real questions being asked about Obama. Making it all about the BC obfuscates the valid questions being asked about Obama's past. O'Reilly still thinks Obama is a smart man, being a Harvard brother and all. He wouldn't want to admit that a lying fraud graduated from Harvard it might make O'Reilly look bad. He'll be tanking right along with Obama if he keeps it up. |

. Separate and apart of the thread subject, it's very Telling that BOR is attacking Republicans and conservatives at a time when the Dems, who are in charge all around, are doing outrageous things (not reading bills and bragging about it) over and over. O'Reilly exists on a plane where the default is the Dems are smart and Obama is brilliant. The Double Standard is huge. Just like when the Dems pulled a Kennedy out of Rehab on a Friday afternoon for the Cap and Tax bill. If the Repubs had done that, the media would've exploded. It would've easily been the number 1 story for 2 weeks. As it is, only diehard political people even know about it. . |

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win.” — Mahatma Gandhi It's a quote dealing with the very real fact that Britian was a colonial power on the Indian subcontinent. Now it's being being expropriated by groups whose main assertion doesn't hold water. Every fringe group adopts that saying now. When Gandi used it the situation he described wasn't factually in question. He was speaking about the probability of a certain outcome. At least pick a slogan that applies to your situation. |

. ‘Birthers’ Latch Onto Forged Kenyan Birth Certificate By David Weigel 8/3/09 8:50 AM On Sunday night, the online community of “birthers” erupted after Orly Taitz released a photo of a “Kenyan birth certificate” for Barack Obama. The “birther” movement quickly divided between the credulous — people who believed that the new certificate was genuine — and skeptics who believed that their movement was being taken for a ride. This story needs a little bit of prelude. Last year, as the bloggers at ObamaConspiracy remember, Philip Berg included an obviously forged birth certificate with his lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee. (The certificate was Canadian and signed by “Dudley Do-Right.”) Foreign birth certificates, unlike, say, American passports, are prime targets for forgery — few people stateside know what the real ones look like, and the penalties for forging them are basically non-existent. So here it is: the “certified copy of registration of birth” that Orly Taitz obtained and is submitting as evidence in her lawsuit on behalf of Alan Keyes. The most obvious problems: - It records Barack Obama Sr’s age as “26.” Obama Sr was born in 1936; his son was born in 1961. - Its publication date is February 17, 1964, but it purports be a document of the “Republic of Kenya.” Kenya did not become a Republic until December 12, 1964, a year after it won independence from Great Britain. - It’s signed by “registrar E.F. Lavender.” Earth Friendly Lavender is a kind of detergent, and government officials who use vanity initials on official documents are, to put it mildly, rare. - The kicker? The image is part of the extremely ill-informed conspiracy theory that Obama was born in Mombasa—conveniently, one of the more Muslim parts of the country. This has always been a red flag for conspiracy theorists, so it deserves some explanation. Barack Obama Sr. was born and educated in Nyanza Province, in southwestern Kenya, on Lake Victoria. This is the area where Obama’s family lived and continues to live; Sarah Obama, the step-grandmother of the president, lives in Nyang’oma Kogelo, a small town in the province. But Mombasa is a city on the Indian Ocean, a thousand miles to the east. It didn’t even have an international airport until 1979. And the city wasn’t even part of Kenya when the future president was born. Mombasa was a part of Zanzibar until December 12, 1963, when it became part of the newly independent Kenya. The new forgery? Why, it claims that the president was born in Coast General Hospital in Mombasa. - As some FreeRepublic posters have pointed out, the document contains a number that’s either a humorous coincidence or a wink by the forger. It’s number 47,044. Barack Obama, 47 years old, is the 44th president of the United States. So what’s the likeliest story here? One popular theory right now is that the document was faked to discredit the “birther” movement. That wouldn’t be surprising: another document that circulated over the weekend was a “certificate of birth” from “Kenya colony,” and its creator tipped his hand, telling readers that it was a “work of parody.” http://washingtonindependent.com/53494/birthers-latch-onto-forged-kenyan-birth-certificate |

Here is another example of a fake document Birthers jumped on. I'm guessing more than a few people are going to devote more than a few hours to faking documents for the Birthers consumption. |
