African is not a race. That birth certificate was changed. Oh, and by the way...My oldest was born in Hawaii. It took a lot longer than a week for us to get a birth certificate. If the newspapers required a birth certificate before printing an announcement in the paper, then the announcement would have been much later than one week after the birth. And, when I had to get a copy of my daughter's birth certificate after it was lost in one of several moves, the birth certificate was exactly the same as the original. Nothing needed to be changed to be a certified copy. It was a reprint of the original. Why would they feel the need to change anything on the certified copy? It simply defies logic Edited by brittany, Jul 28 2009, 01:59 PM.

When they cancelled the Major order to go overseas, it rendered the case moot. That's why the DOD, recinded the orders, you can't challenge orders once their recinded. |

I thought the Major's case was separate from the one where the judge said that Obama hadn't responded to the previous request for information and papers, and that's the one that would be heard. The Major saying he couldn't follow orders from a bogus Commander-in-Chief, did become mute when the orders were canceled. But that was a different (or additional) question. |

. White House, Hawaii again try to deal with 'birther' questions about Obama Officials point to evidence that the president is a naturally born U.S. citizen. But White House spokesman Robert Gibbs admits there's probably nothing that will silence the persistent chatter. By Mark Silva 9:22 AM PDT, July 28, 2009 Reporting from Washington -- Both the White House and the state of Hawaii this week have gone out of their way to attempt to quell persistent chatter on talk radio, the Internet and other public forums that President Obama, who was born in Honolulu, is not a naturally born citizen of the United States. At the same time, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs acknowledged that there was probably nothing that would quiet the president's critics. "Here's the deal," Gibbs said at a White House news briefing on Monday. "If I had some DNA, it wouldn't assuage those that don't believe he was born here. But I have news for them and for all of us: The president was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the 50th state of the greatest country on the face of the Earth. He's a citizen." Hawaii says so too. State officials, who verified Obama's birthplace when the question was raised before the presidential election in November, said again this week that they had checked and confirmed that Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born U.S. citizen, as the Constitution requires of any president. The official statement was intended to quell a persistent wave of commentary on talk shows and the Internet that Obama may have been born in Kenya. His father was Kenyan; his mother was from Kansas. "I have seen ... the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen," Hawaii Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said in a statement released Monday. "I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago." Fukino issued a similar statement on Oct. 31, before the election, but was prompted to speak out again because of renewed attention to Obama's birth. The state has been flooded in recent weeks with questions from individuals and several TV news networks asking for proof that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii. State law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone without a tangible interest. The Obama campaign last year posted an electronic facsimile on the Internet, in a bid to quell rumors then. Advocates of a "birther" movement who maintain that Obama is unqualified to serve as president point to the confidentiality of the original record as a sign that the president must be hiding something. CNN commentator Lou Dobbs drew new attention to the matter last week when he told a caller to his radio show who claimed Obama is a Kenyan: "Certainly your view can't be discounted." The network's Kitty Pilgrim used a segment of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" on Friday to call the question of the president's citizenship a "discredited rumor that won't go away." "CNN has fully investigated the issue," Dobbs' substitute said, and "found no basis for the questions about the president's birthplace." MSNBC's Chris Matthews, host of "Hardball," pressed Rep. John Campbell, (R-Irvine) last week about a bill that he and others are sponsoring requiring future candidates for president to present their birth certificates. "What is going on that so many Americans doubt the obvious, that President Barack Obama is a citizen?" Matthews asked Campbell. "Wouldn't you like to put it to rest? That's what this proposal is all about," replied Campbell, noting that some questioned Republican Sen. John McCain's credentials for the presidency because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. "It's only looking forward," Campbell said of his bill. "It's 2012 and beyond ... just saying, 'Look, before you run for president, let's have you substantiate that you meet the constitutional requirement.' ... Why is that crazy, Chris?' "Nice try," replied Matthews. "What you're doing is appeasing the nut cases. ... You're verifying the paranoia out there. ... You are playing to the crazies. ... You guys are playing to the wacko wing" of the Republican Party. The House of Representatives, in unanimously approving a resolution celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state on Monday, added its own voice to the question with a clause: "Whereas the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961." Yet, at the daily White House news briefing on Monday, Gibbs was asked if there is anything that will "make the birthers go away." "The God's honest truth is, no," Gibbs said. "I almost hate to indulge in such an august setting as the White House -- and I mean this in seriousness -- the White House briefing room, discussing the made-up, fictional nonsense of whether or not the president was born in this country," Gibbs said. "A year and a half ago, I asked that the birth certificate be put on the Internet because, Lord knows, you got a birth certificate and you put it on the Internet, what else could be the story?" http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-obama-birth29-2009jul29,0,3608091.story . |

The wringing of the hands, the feigned helplessness. These "birthers" will never be satisfied, they're crazy, wackos, nutcases, we've done all we can, there's just no pleasing them!! Clue: Cough up all the missing documents and people will stop asking questions. Simple. |

Britt this is directed at you and anyone else that can't find their birth certificate. You can call the director of the department that stores and keeps track of births and get a letter stating they wer born where you say. From this article you don't need a birth certificate to prove citenship, just a sworn statement from a public official, that states they saw the birth certificate. How great is that? Gee, when I got my job as a P/O, I really didn't need a birth certificate to prove citizenship, just a sworn statement from some government official who saw the original. I wonder how that would go over if I applied for a passport? |

Another question is, Obama states he is a great basketball player, did he play in college? Can we check the team pics or rosters from those years? |

So, he was 18, not quite 19 when these divorce papers were signed. It says he was still a dependant, but I thought he'd been sent back to live with the grandparents when he was 10. Is there anything else here? |

I am totally willing to suspend judgment until all the facts are in, but first the facts have to be established. Right now all "we the people" have been presented with is stonewalling, secrecy and obfuscation and quite possibly, a fictional autobiography of a President. This from today's Press Briefing - GIBBS: ... no, nothing will assuage them. But there are 10,000 more important issues for people in this country to discuss, rather than-- HELEN THOMAS: A violation of the Constitution. (?) GIBBS:--whether or not the President is a citizen. ... THOMAS: Why do you think it keeps coming up? I am no fan of Helen Thomas, but, good grief, even she is asking questions. I think this is at least the second time she brought it up. As for the issue being a distraction to 10,000 important issues . . . Many people are quite capable of multi-tasking. In the meantime we can have still fun speculating! We should at least keep our sense of humor about this pickle we're in.

I agree, but it may not last 4 years. When someone can swear that they saw his birth certificate, how is that proof. You have needed your childrens, what if someone swore they saw it. What would happen? |
