Many are saying the governement is "cooking" the books and its actually higher. All I know is the ballparks have less in attendance. Last night I saw one of the best pitchers in baseball, Tim Lincecum, pitch in SF. The stadium was about 3/4's full. I am very interested in attendance figures as that shows the real state of the economy with its fans. So far attendance is off about 10% on average. The Yankees have suffered dramatically. With a new stadium it should have been good. Average Yankee attendance 2008 53,069 Average Yankee attendance 2008 35,250 Interesting article about baseball and the depression. It suffered http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/07/sports/baseball/07depression.html |
