Stimulus Puts Obama in Tough Territory http://www.redstate.com/bluey/2009/07/08/stimulus-puts-obama-in-tough-territory/ Is the White House’s well-oiled communications machine coming undone less than six months after President Obama took office? snip Perhaps the strongest signal that the administration is nervous came yesterday afternoon when Biden’s office announced a panicked trip to Ohio in the wake of new polling from Quinnipiac University. Obama’s approval rating in Ohio over the past two months dropped from 62% to 49%. It took an even bigger dip among Ohio independents, falling from 59 percent to 38 percent. The president’s ratings on the economy are even worse. snip |

Is First Lady Michelle Obama sporting a taste for ultra-expensive fashion pieces, or is she cementing her status as a savvy shopper? Back in April she wore a pair of $540 Lanvin sneakers at a Washington food bank. Earlier this week (while strolling the wooded landscape outside of Moscow), she carried a sexy black clutch, which Italian luxury house VBH boasts is their shiny black alligator manila bag – with a retail sticker price of $5,950. The White House flatly denies that Obama bought such a high-priced accessory, and says that she was carrying a patent clutch that retails for $875. http://tinyurl.com/lerfaa The People's First Lady |

. It was a red flag when she laughed about $600 checks saying what can you do with that, buy a pair of earrings? The Minus 8 is probably going rock some Dem meetings today. |

$875? Oh, that makes it all better. That's still more than $800 too much for a stupid handbag. |

Even $875 for a purse sounds extravagant to me. But I wouldn't be surprised if it really was the more expensive one. But if she paid for it with her own money, then that's fine. Either way this is not an "affordable style sense". Edited by Rusty Dog, Jul 9 2009, 09:37 AM.

Honestly did we expect anything more from the Chicago Machine? Passing out "borrowed" money to his special supporters in that Porkzilla! Shovel-ready manure! Now we have lost another 565k jobs as reported today. Has he done anything to support the Ukraine, Georgia(country), or Israel? He speech in Cairo was a mistake where he apologized to the Musilim World. Before he kow towed to the Saudi King. He is exactly as we predicted in our Black Liberation Theology thread before the election. Obama Can't Be Trusted With Numbers So why should we trust him with health care? In February, President Barack Obama signed a $787 billion stimulus bill while making lavish promises about the results. He pledged that "a new wave of innovation, activity and construction will be unleashed all across America." He also said the stimulus would "save or create up to four million jobs." Vice President Joe Biden said the massive federal spending plan would "drop-kick" the economy out of the recession. But the unemployment rate today is 9.5% -- nearly 20% higher than the Obama White House said it would be with the stimulus in place. Keith Hennessey, who worked at the Bush White House on economic policy, has noted that unemployment is now higher than the administration said it would be if nothing was done to revive the economy. There are 2.6 million fewer Americans working than Mr. Obama promised. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124709502661214861.html He promised 4 milliuon new jobs, but in reality in just 5 months of his Presidency we have lost close to three million jobs. Things that make you go, "Hmmmmmmmm" Told that Obama's office denied the bag was the high-end VBH clutch, Kelly Vitko, a rep for the company replied, "It’s definitely ours." Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/fashion/2009/07/09/2009-07-09_michelle_obama_flashes_expensive_taste_carries_5950_black_bag_alligator_russia_.html#ixzz0Km6UfIKI&C Since she carried a smaller VBH turquoise colored clutch on her "date night" in NYC, I'm inclined to believe that this one IS the real McCoy. Perhaps we'll have "PURSEGATE" as her many minions scurry around to try to find a patent leather replacement to deflect criticism. Fortunately, she's in Italy, where purses are rampant! I'll bet her "staff" are busy little beavers today. Edited by Texas Mom, Jul 9 2009, 10:25 AM.
