If Joe Cheshire et al. were bothered by this VP stuff they would have responded months ago. She is doing the boys a favor every time she opens her pie hole.

If WPTF is really interested in the facts, I am sure Joe Cheshire, Brad Bannon, et al would be glad to make a group appearance and lay out the facts. In addition, Lane Williamson could also appear and explain to these dim light bulbs how the State Bar Disciplinary Committee functions. The co-hosts appeared to be "tolerating" VP, rather than engaging her. I suspect they were gently persuaded by higher ups to give VP her 15 minutes of fame. She may even be attempting to take some of the light off of the current Durham child molestation scandal.

TD, I would disagree with that. I would think any higher ups would want her to shut up! They would have to realize she is hurting those who are being sued- right?

I personally- really don't know any higher ups that she could ask a favor like this from. Knowing VP I can tell you, she probably worried the station 24/7 about this.

VP is truly a kind person, her kindness gets her into trouble, plus-she doesn't know how to finish things she starts. She is also a follower, not a leader. She was told she needed to do this.

CGM's book failed, Nifong went to jail, VP is the chosen one to try to carry the water pail . Plain and simple...she is being used.

What to do about this? I don't know what, if anything can be done to stop her. Maybe some of our lawyers can speak to the issue.

Quasi,
Are you availabe for interviews? May we suggest WPTF contact you for a follow up program?

Quasi tends to mumble too much and then shout (it's a response to the bells...)

I don't know if you are in the Triangle area or not, but an independant bookstore in Raleigh, Quail Ridge Books, often has authors come in for an appearance and book signing.

It's The Know Bookstore or nothing!

But maybe you'd feel more comfortable with letting Lodge Pro handle it.

Lodge Pro would be much better (stations tend not to turn him down when he makes an offer...)

Or there's Mike Kell, Righteous Thug, Locomotive Breath, JinC, Walt-in-Durham, and several others (forgive me if
I don't mention all the names)

I would love to see you begin a book tour.

People think I look funny with the pointed shoes and bells on my toes, and then they keep trying to make me the King of Fools. I just don't know...

Would you really come to The Know, if it can be arranged?

I am as dedicated to free speech as anyone, but I have been wondering how it might be appropriate to deal with Victoria Peterson. She has persistent delusions about what went on in the DLX case that no amount of actual verifiable evidence can dispel. And she continues to trumpet her views and slander the DLX players at every conceivable opportunity.

She has also displayed other aberrant behavior that suggests a personality that may be deranged if not able to be categorized as outright certifiable.

A clue as to what might be done is my view that her remarks about the DLX players are slander. It might not be worth pursuing her on these grounds, however, since she may well have no assets to attach.

I wonder if she could be made subject to a restraining order? Similarly, where I grew up in another Common Law jurisdiction, there was a procedure whereby a magistrate or judge could find that someone was a public nuisance and enjoin them from further disturbing the public peace. I can recall this procedure being used to stop persistent matrimonial fights by couples, for instance, but it would seem applicable to the loquacious and misguided VP.

May I have your views?
What would you do if this was someone else other than VP?

My attitude would be no different to anyone else who made a public nuisance of themselves and incites violence as VP has done.
OK, Now, do you know what can be done legally?

Too bad VP can't tell the truth.

I heard her other appearances on the Bill LuMaye show which VP now contends didn't happen - or maybe she wasn't African-American then?

The options concerned what to label V. Peterson are not good.

"VP is the chosen one to carry the water pail" - Who chose her? J., do you think the NAACP has anything to do with her appearances in the media? Obviously Nifong is willing to have anyone speak on his behalf, but there must be someone in the black community who is using VP as a mouthpiece. You know the community so much better than I, can you think of who that person or persons could be. That is what I meant by "higher up" - someone with a leadership position within the black community who is still clinging to the "something happened" mantra and vindicating Nifong is tantamount to vindicating Crusty.

If you can count the people that are pictured on the web site that she is president :laughin: of, leaders-that's about all I can think of.

I doubt the NAACP had anything to do with her radio 15 min.of fame. Hardly anyone in the white community talks about the frame anymore-must less the AA community.

This is a small group trying to keep things stirred up and get in the news whenever possible. jmo

Still, she got on the Radio unopposed.

I find that unusual.

I know one of these two to be a Liar and the other lied to me personally.

Could it be that Victoria has a problem with the Bar because her ass was thrown out for threatening harassment and barred for the remainder of the proceedings?

Maybe listeners should have been told about that!

Just peeked in at Justice4Nifong and found a peculiar reference to LS and DIW. It seems the site has undergone a face lift in order that LS and DIW (who were "challenged" by the former site) were having a hard time finding their way around.

I still cannot believe that WPTF randomly called VP and set up an interview. Who in their right mind would consider her an authority on the case even for the enablers. It makes these clowns look stupid.

TD - I agree with what ~J~ said up thread. I bet VP called WPTF demanding to be heard, using some of the same rhetoric she used on the show -- something to the effect that no black woman had ever been asked to speak on the radio about the case... she also said something about there being not a single black women on the NC State BAR which has 24K+ members. I believe she harrassed them, claimed they were rasist and/or anti-feminist and had never allowed counter-point to the defenders of lacrosse team. WPTF caved to her threats/demands, imo.

When are people going to get the guts to tell these idiots to take their PC crap and take a flying leap? Why are good otherwise-intelligent people being led around like bulls with a ring in the nose by these people? Crap is crap, no matter whether you are black, white, latino or mixed like most of us! I would have told VP that if she had some new information to shed on the case she would be given a forum in which to share it. Otherwise, if she just came on to my show to rant I would have someone ranting for the opposing side as well..., and they could just slug it out. Might be good comedy. But to pretend it is about fairness, or news, or race is just stupid intimidation and it is time that the equality conscious media got some guts to put a stop to it.

I tried posting multiple times and kept getting a message that my url was incorrect. Can someone explain. It appears they don't want comments. Do you have to be registered to comment and if so, I cannot find a link to register.
