Rove just on Fox. Katherine Graham Weymouth had to have known about the "salon", since it was to be at her house in 2 weeks! Trying to say she didn't know is not believeable.
"I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"

The MSM may be starting to catch on that many Americans are getting their news and information from other sources and that these Americans believe the MSM has lost credibility and do not listen to or believe them. Rush's comments of calling the MSM "state run media" may be starting to sink in. They now need to try to at least create the impression that they are doing their job.
I haven't watched a CBS-NBC-ABC newscast in a l-o-n-g time. Most major papers are not any better. They are in the tank as much as the major networks. And it is getting worse. The infomercial ABC did for 0bamaCare was one of the worst things they have ever done. Then there was this story about the Washinton Post.

ALL-ACCE$$ PRESS
WASHINGTON POST STOPPED FROM SELLING $25K POLITICO 'SALONS'

WASHINGTON, DC -- Perhaps it should have been called "Pimp my newspaper."

For a steep price, the Washington Post planned to invite lobbyists to the home of the paper's CEO and publisher, Katherine Weymouth, to hobnob with Obama administration officials, members of Congress and even the paper's own working reporters and editors.

At a cost of anywhere from $25,000 to $250,000, the so-called "salons" hosted by the vaunted giant of journalism were expected to put wealthy and willing lobbyists in touch with "those powerful few" in Washington who make all the decisions.

But soon after news of the high-dollar events was exposed by Politico.com's Mike Allen, himself a former Washington Post reporter, the daily newspaper nixed the plans and insisted they never intended to sell access to their reporters.

According to the flier advertising the events, there were a few catches in addition to the high price tag.

Among them, Obama administration officials and congressional leaders were to be handled with kid gloves. What's more, the newspaper once famous for its court battles uncovering the secrets of government officials insisted that these sessions with government officials be done under an oath of secrecy.

.
We know the Wash Post were advertising access to Obama officials for paying customers.

We know Diane Feinstein did the same thing about 2 weeks ago - both canceling once the meetings were publicly known.

So, the Question is do you believe there are more members of the media investigating the Sale of White House access by a WAPO/ABC or more trying to find out what Michael Jackson was taking or getting interesting quotes from his friends/associates/staff?

Feinstein didn't start out selling her office and votes. A committee she sits on sent Millions to her husband (and more than a Billion to his companies).

How about Dick Durbin (Illinois) meeting with treasury and then running out and selling his stock?

All this stuff is being swept right under the rug. Hey, but don't miss any of the Michael Jackson coverage.

I think there may soon be trouble in the hen house. I never thought I'd agree with anything that came out of Helen's mouth. She was actually lucid. :uhoh:
I also never thought I'd actually say that I would ever agree with Helen. I fear the sky may fall, :chicky: but I can live with that.

Helen Thomas: Not Even Nixon Tried to Control the Media Like Obama
Wednesday, July 01, 2009
By Penny Starr and Fred Lucas

(CNSNews.com) - Following a testy exchange during today’s briefing with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas told CNSNews.com that not even Richard Nixon tried to control the press the way President Obama is trying to control the press.

“Nixon didn’t try to do that,” Thomas said. “They couldn’t control (the media). They didn’t try.

“What the hell do they think we are, puppets?” Thomas said. “They’re supposed to stay out of our business. They are our public servants. We pay them.”

Thomas said she was especially concerned about the arrangement between the Obama Administration and a writer from the liberal Huffington Post Web site. The writer was invited by the White House to President Obama’s press conference last week on the understanding that he would ask Obama a question about Iran from among questions that had been sent to him by people in Iran.

“When you call the reporter the night before you know damn well what they are going to ask to control you,” Thomas said.

“I’m not saying there has never been managed news before, but this is carried to fare-thee-well--for the town halls, for the press conferences,” she said. “It’s blatant. They don’t give a damn if you know it or not. They ought to be hanging their heads in shame.”
The sun maybe just begin to shine through.

My favorite line: "Not Even Nixon Tried to Control the Media Like Obama " (It was a good thing I was sitting down!)

OMG, what is next. Maybe the press will find the birth certificate.
Not possible, he has no birth certificate.
How about the State Dept.'s lists of foreign Fulbright students at Occidental for the years he was there?
Yes, I've given up on the BC. I want to see those college records.
