I have been following this false rape accusation. They arrested her yesterday!

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The 18-year-old Anderson University student who police said made up a story about being abducted and sexually assaulted last week was arrested Monday, police said.

Heather Nicole Funkhouser is charged with filing a false felony report.

Anderson Police said that Funkhouser told police on Thursday that she was abducted at 1 a.m. by two men who took her off the university campus, assaulted her and then dropped her off.

Police said that investigators determined that this incident did not happen as it was reported.

"She was confronted with the inconsistencies and recanted the previous statement," Anderson Police spokesman Randall Williams told WYFF News 4. "I cannot even begin to estimate the amount of time that was spent -- as far as manpower hours, as far as investigation, uniform patrols, the security and all the manpower hours that were put in there for the students at the college."

Funkhouser is scheduled to have a bond hearing at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

If convicted of filing a false felony police report, Funkhouser could face up to five years in prison and $5,000 fine.

Thanks, Kethra.

Crystal got away with breaking an historical, legal, and major religious covenant. Interesting how Durham failed to bring justice on her and that religious leaders never demanded it.

"Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor"

One wouldn't want to start a precedent and enforcing that.

And the number of hours that Durham PD spent on its case? Counting the number on one hand.

And the number of hours that Duke police spent on the case? Close to 0

And the number of hours that the city of durham and duke university are spending on the case? too large to calculate.

We have seen the kind of place that Durham is, and even though there are decent people scattered throughout it, for the most part I am not surprised at all that the people of Durham chose to pursue a frame. Durham is a community in which a large number of people believe that the world owes them something, and the leftist political alliances that govern the place are not made up of decent people.

I teach at Purdue University and, unfortunate as it is, this kind
of thing happens from time to time. I don't know if it's due to
psychological issues, but occasionally a student falsely claims rape.

The story is almost always identical with this story. The rape
claim is taken VERY seriously. Police issue descriptions of the
attackers and ask for help from anyone who might have seen or
know something, and a very serious investigation takes place.

If the accuser makes inconsistent statements, it is understood that
a traumatized person might be confused, but nonetheless an effort
is made to resolve the inconsistencies. And, in that process, some
times it is learned that the allegation was false, that the story was fabricated.

"I cannot even begin to estimate the amount of time that was spent ":
just think of that statement and how much time and money was wasted
on a transparently false rape allegation by Mangum, and it's still costing
them money!

Think how much money and manpower time Gottlieb cost the DPD and YET
they still stand by him. He wasn't let go until he made a sexist remark
to a female officer ELSE he would still be on the DPD!!!!! They have never
admitted any wrongdoing by Gottlieb (and Himan too) and they seem not
care a thing about all the money and manpower time that Gottlieb cost them
-- the NC AG made it very clear that there was never any real investigation.
He said that serious charges demand a serious investigation. There was NO
investigation in this case: it was a frame!
