The chronicles of a forgotten legacy Based on the diary of a guild which was banned from the realm of a legend. +---------+ |Prologue| +---------+ ![]() As a prominent assassin, I was with a childhood friends, deep within the basements of Sphinx. As we explored we came along two strangers, a high priest and a high wizard. The high wizard came up to me, he gave me one good look and said to me with poise “In consideration that our numbers are low and trusting you would fight along side us, would you join the guild of Aether?”. At first, I was very confused of what exactly was going on, but I accepted anyway. My friend, on the other hand, had gone up ahead to explore and missed his chance of a lifetime. As I had given my verbal agreement on the matter, they saluted me and said that I would find them when the time was necessary. The two had walked away from me and I went forward looking for my friend, Seth. Seth was a paladin under service of the king of rune-midgard, we had meet a long time ago, when I was a low-life thief and when he was a loyal swordsman, we had grown together as brothers, almost constantly competing for glory, but we both choose our path. He left to the guild of a luminous hope and forgotten me, but it was something I was already used to, but that is another story for another day. As I did go further, I could not find him and suddenly I was knocked down to the floor by a mob of four or five Minorous. I suddenly woke up in the plaza of the town of archers, the town of Payon. I don’t know how I had gotten there, but I was alive and well. I went to talk to this girl who was carrying a cat about maybe how I got here, she didn’t tell me how, but for some reason I felt alleviated when I spoke to her. As I continued to walk around, I saw another high priest with the same emblem as the one I meet in the dungeon. I rushed over to her and asked her where the rest of the guild mates were. She smiled and casted a warp, she said to go through the warp and my questions would be answered. I stepped through the warp and appeared in a dark-soiled area, with buildings that looked like as if they were built as a temporary base, but somehow over time remained permanent. As I looked around there were not many merchants around but there were plenty of guildsmen with the emblem around and a few that were not. I saw the high wizard who had given me the invite. I quickly ran up to him and butted into his conversation. Once I had his attention I asked him what his name was and he responded “My name? I am one of four of the co-leader of Aether, my name is Antarang” he then handed me a patch of the emblem of the guild and quickly welcomed me to the guild, as a result he also introduced me to many of the members, some of the noticeable ones, who I managed to remember there face, are not with us anymore, but those who I do remember would soon become some of my best friends. During that day, we all hung out and socialized around the grounds, as night came I didn’t have a place to stay. I wasn’t aware the guild had claimed the building infront of me as their base. Not knowing this I laid on the ground under a one of the tents staring at the clothe the tent had been made out of. The wind was blowing hard and a storm was approaching, but since I didn't know about the base, I remained outside wondering where everyone had gone. The next day I woke up, soaking wet, and as I had opened my eyes, around me was all of the guild members snickering and trying not to laugh. I was later told that there was a place for me to stay. That day many of the guild-mates took me to exotic places and helped me train. I was taken to the city of Rachel by one of my fellow guild members, one of the many who's name I can't remember, I was then pointed in direction to help some man to find something that he lost that belonged to his boss, long story short, I met the leader of Rachel. Come to think about it, her eyes were not both the same color, kind of cute in my opinion. I, sadly, later that evening, stole a key that lead to me to a place of worship with aggressive people, some of the would call each other vanberks and isillas. I guess you could call me a murderer since I used to train on them. I would show up back to guild's base every so often, stronger and stronger each time. What I would loot from these people was sold at a very high price, which enabled me to buy some decent gears. Tuesday afternoon, Joe, another of the co-leaders, said that it was time to take a castle. Personally I did not know what he spoke about so I asked him. He claimed it was a war between guilds to get a castle. Joe: It's quite simple, I go in and rush the castle, take it and you guys defend it. Linik: But why? I mean we already have this base right here. Right? Joe: Sorry kid, it's just the way it works. Linik: I'm too young to die. x_x A man walked up behind me and put his hand on my shoulder, I looked back and it was an Assassin Cross. Little did I know he was our guild leader. His name was Thomas, but he went by Tosser. He told me to get ready for WoE and I told him to Duck off because I wasn't ready. A bit after, I regretted it after I learned he was the guild leader, but now in this day, I don't regret it at all. To be honest, I rather not discuss what had happened that day to me. No, he did not rape me or anything, but I was left with a doubt of a few things. +-----------------------------------------+ | Chapter 1 - Meeting the guildmates | +-----------------------------------------+ First, It was Antarang the High Wizard in from the basement of sphinx along with the High Priest who I can't remember, but my first expression of Ant was that he suffered from ADD since he constantly popped up with random lines in the middle of conversations. Some that made no sense, some that did. To this day, my first impression of him remains the same. The other High Priest that I met in Payon, She was one of those people who joined and the left. When I got to the base that day, the first people I met were Blu and Joe. Blu... he was interesting, always talking nonsense and random bullTish, his Chinese accent always left me laughing my ass off. Joe, one of the co-leaders, I think he was more pre-occupied about his fellow guildmates than himself. Always putting himself in danger to help others get rare items like Marc cards and Evil Druid cards. Joe was someone I will always admire for his kindness. I remember meeting Joe's fiancee, today his wife, Karen. Karen was always there for me when I needed advice on assassin tactics. Infact, it was because of her I managed to get geared mostly, she sold me her jur which had two hydra cards and two skeleton worker cards. Karen's brother, Edward, he was annoying, but fun. He was a Champion, I remember in WoE there was an assassin sonic blowing me, Eddie came in and Asura Striked his ass, in result saving my ass. Carlo the Clown and co-leader, he was funny, but he was always very serious about what he did, he was incredibly strong, I think he was one of the few people who had managed to kill me in one shot that was not a champion or a monk. Drea, Carlo's brother was always talking back, trying to make me look bad grrrr. But I love him anyways. Another person who I will never be able to forget ever is Pat..... Pat is Pat, there are no words to describe this horny Filipino. He would constantly leave the guild, just to rejoin it about 3 days later. Narci was awesome. That is all to it. Narci was awesome. Shanjo the Lord Knight, I always remember him and Joe dueling to see who was better. Ofcourse, Joe always won. Foxtrot was one of the few, if not the only sniper in the guild, I remember him laying traps and then complaining that everyone in the guild was stepping on them. Darc, sadly, I can't remember much about him since he was in the guild for such a short time. Masta, the last co-leader for my mention, another Assassin Cross, with extreme knowledge of builds and WoE tactics. Fisk, Clown or High Priest, where did he leave to? I don't know.... but he was there! I just don't remember much. Probably the reason behind that being that is because I got killed too many times in WoE. +------------------------------+ |Chapter two - My first WoE| +------------------------------+ ![]() Tom had just e-called, everyone was rushing to the castle, Joe went booming right passed me and everyone else. Masta Sin was yelling out orders to the guild mates, who were dying one by one to the asura strikes and sonic blows of Infinity guild. Suddenly, all the opponents were forced-tele away. I thought we were safe at last, so those of us who were left followed Masta Sin and Tosser the the pre-emp room. One went in and was blown to pieces by a meteor storm on the other side. Infinity had recalled in the Emperium room, there pre-cast was invincible. Suddenly they all teleported away, seconds later a voice shouted in the air: "Joe has claimed the castle for Aether Revolution". Everyone got into positions right away; Antarang was casting meteor storm, Along with Gram and Drea casting storm gust, Carlo took out his harp and started to play "A Poem of Bragi". High Priests were scattered all over in the room, some healing and buffing, some casting safety wall on the emp. Our only Professor, Aki, converting her health to be able to give everyone part of her soul. Whilst the Assassins and Champs would scout the the castle killing anyone on there way in. I was too weak to be any good in WoE, which at times would lead me into a depression, yet Tosser would cheer me up and put me as a scout at the entrance to let them know who was coming in, even though it sounded stupid, I did enjoy it, I felt useful. I yelled to the guild as the guild Pink Death raided that castle, eventually, someone with a Golden Thief Bug card managed to get through and take the castle. War of Emperium had ended. We all gathered outside of our base and Tosser began to speak "We almost got it guys, almost. Let's try better next time. We can do it..." he walked away and I heard him whisper to himself "If only I was stronger...". I'm not too sure if anyone else hear him, but I felt bad. At least this gave me some initiative to get stronger. As Tosser sulked in his emo-ness, everyone gathered and talked about the highlights of WoE, Joe was telling Carlo about how he tanked like 4 Assassin crosses and 2 Champs. Carlo claimed he was impressed, yet the way he said it made it sound as if he knew Joe had done better before. As everyone was talking about how many kills they all had, I sat silent, saying nothing. Carlo then popped up and asked why was I so quiet, I told him that I had nothing to say. Fisk came up to me and told me I had done a good job scouting. Even though I detected sarcasm within his words, it made me happy. +--------------------------------------------------------------+ | Chapter 3 - Oh no he didn't; The arrow is launched| +--------------------------------------------------------------+ A few days had passed since the first WoE and not much had changed; Tosser was still sulking around, Carlo was in the corner playing his harp. Something interesting did happen though: Antarang and Joe where both jailed for interrupting a wedding. To make things a bit more interesting, they were jailed until Sunday, forcing them to miss the next WoE. Just to spice it up, only Tosser, Carlo and masta sin were going to be able to lead that day. It wasn't much of a problem until we found out we had no breakers or a meteor storm precaster. We had then declared we were BONED. BOOOONEEED I TELL YOU. Even though the circumstances, Tom suddenly was in a better mood. Honestly, I never understood him on those days. (Until later of course when his secret had been unveiled) He had claimed that he had slotted his infiltrator on the first try. Accordingly the conversation went something like so: Tosser: Yeah, So I just slotted my infiltrator. Lord Ennui: Haha, how many tries did it take you? Tosser: I got it on the first try, cool huh? Linik: DAMN, I wish I was that lucky.... Tosser: One day you'll be this pro =P Everyone was amazed, within one week, Tom had gone from a weak PVPer that was constantly being owned by WD to a killing machine. I do recall once, dueling a friend of mine, who was infact the Crusader I was leveling with in Sphinx when I was recruited. He would first stun me and the Grand Cross me until I passed out. I was so eager to beat him, but I couldn't. Seeing that Tosser was the only Assassin Cross on, I quickly asked if he could lend me his gear to see if I could beat the crusader. Once again it was one of those days when Tosser was happy, so he gladly lent them to me. I was astonished to see a +9 boned infiltrator, this was the first time I had ever used one at that refinement, It probably will be the last time also. Of course, this didn't solve the fact that I was still being stunned as resulted I still lost that fight. I gave Tosser his gear back and he proceeded to duel the same crusader to prove that he could beat anyone. YET, he also failed at doing so, he then took out a bottle with a shape of a skull and drank a green liquid from it. He cried out "SONIC BLOW" and had one-hit KO-ed the crusader. I could only worship him. We proceeded to leave the dueling arena and we went back to Midgard camp. I learned the name of the location thanks to Paul. Paul was a strange person, he was from infinity but good friends with Tosser, after we had sat down and got comfortable, Paul showed up and was talking to Tom about how he could improve as a leader and what not. Little did I know, Paul was a Star Gladiator. He was a great one too, he help me get to the point were I could go to Valkyrie, but that's a different story for a different day. A few nights went by and it was Saturday, everyone was rushing and getting ready, Masta sin was getting Poison bottles and Carlo was tuning up his Harp, Pat was sharpening his katars and Hana was giving out blessings, Tosser on the other hand was ready to go, he had everything ready for anything. We all stood around steady and calmly, the bell rang and the warps popped out of nowhere, everyone rushed toward the warps, I went on through myself and appeared in Glast Heim. Everyone simultaneously said "What the Duck?" +---------------------------------------------------+ | Chapter 4 - So, What happened to WoE?| | Introduction to the infamous WD guild .| +---------------------------------------------------+ So, everyone was confused about what was happening, I myself figured maybe some asshole warped us to Duck us up. Well, we all got back to base via butterfly wings and looked around for any unfriendly priest and didn't find any. With all the confusion and what not everyone lost the initial boost of morale and what not. It just seemed to be a boring WoE, everyone went there separate ways for the rest of WoE. I mean, for starters Joe was no where to be found, he was our only emp breaker at the moment. But because everyone else was on there own, didn't mean I wasn't gonna go around to see what I could do. I went to a castle in Geffen, it had a heart-shaped guild emblem with a wing on it. The guild's name was Winged Dynasty.... My opinion of Winged Dynasty at that moment: I had a friend who disappeared a while back, but he was in this guild. I remember before being in any guild, constantly seeing there name being announced around in town for getting whatever castle. I actually thought it was one of the "Pro guilds" on the server. I went into the castle and instantly went into hide, the guild was casting LoV, I managed to get by it eventually with cloak and hide combo. I cloaked all the way to the pre-emp. It was pretty slow getting there too: I didn't realize that cloaking could slow you down when not mastered. While I was at the pre-emp, I did the same as at the entrance- Go into hide. They of course saw me and instantly came to Ruwach me but failed miserably because they stopped there precast and I cloaked and ran into the corner. For God's sake, they Ruwached and Sighted all over the damn room and could not find me. When I thought the coast was clear I uncloaked and was suddenly bombarded with a bunch of sonic blows which I dodged them all since I had a high agility due to my training build. I ran all over the room with no buffs whatsoever and I swear on my mother's grave that I had at least 20 people chasing me and failing to kill me. I got caught in a dead end and got e-fisted to death. Thank Valkyrie for saving my life and letting me resurrect from the dead in a non-zombie like way. My opinion on WD after that incident: A bunch of fail people who can keep a castle due to quantity, not quality. There were only a few people (enough to count on one hand) who I can see today that deserve some respect. So it was then announced that the castle that WD had was taken by some guild right after they killed me. I guess I distracted them enough. I went and sat down next to some girl that was in the guild, her name was Kita. I was about to say hello, but then we got an emergency call and we were told to rush into the castle after we got some blue aura around us from the Soul Linker. I rushed in and we somehow killed the High Wizards, everyone ran to the emp and the Soul Linker broke it. As mention before but for a different reason, everyone went "What the Duck?" but we quickly got it together and started defending. Antarang was casting his ebil (Yes, I said EBIL) spells, Carlo was playing Poem of Bragi (Such a catchy tune, it always got me pumped up and made me feel faster when casting and using skills), Moxen was quick to set up traps. It all happened so quick, but somehow it all went down the drain when some person using a Deaf guard and a ghostly looking coat. Sad, Sad, Sad... the castle was taken 2 seconds after WoE had ended. No idea how, but it did. +-------------------------------------------+ |Chapter five - Oh Em Gee! Elven Ears!| +-------------------------------------------+ So, Everyone was depressed incredibly... Everyone was around in the midgard camp just being all emo and Tish. Tom was somewhere, probably cutting his wrist or something. I mean, after what happened at WoE, who would not be? A loud voice yelled across the land- Kuroneko: Good evening guys. Today we have a little surprise for you guilds. The first 10 people to reach me, all of them in the same guild and party will get a headgear of your choice. As soon as I heard the announcement, I quickly set up my party and got about 9 people to join. We needed one person, we quickly recruited a random acolyte named Final Impact. To my knowledge to the people who were there (According to my photographs). 1.Azu 2.Pat 3.Kira Yamato 4.Fried Chicken 5.Wings of Light 6.Edward 7.LilyTran 8.BluDude 9.Final Impact 10. Linik Once we got the party all together, we were ready to hunt. Only one thing stood in our way; where did we have to go now? It was then announced by Kuroneko that you had to reach him in Ayothana. We all rushed to the lady who warped people. Poor lady, we probably overwhelmed her that day so badly. (On a side-note she is pretty hot. ;D) We all went there expecting us to rush to him and win, It wasn't all that easy once we found out that he had spawned monsters all over Ayothana to Duck us up. Thank god we had other guilds competing for the prize also. We didn't have a wizard in our party so we were screwed at mob control. After time, the monster cleared but to our suprise (yes, another one) The godly GM had not one, not two, not three, BUT FOUR Ifrits surrounding him. As time went on by, Kuroneko eventually decided to announce Kuroneko: Oh, I forgot to mention, You don't have to be alive to win, just as long as you are around me it counts. Everyone in the party facepalmed, If he had told us that hours ago we would have won long time. Well, to our luck, we only need 2 other players to surround the Demi-God known as Kuroneko. I was too busy yelling that "Aether is gonna WIN BIATCHES" and eventually they made it. We were the first group to get 10, we kept on yelling at Kuroneko "WE GOT IT" "WE GOT 10" and we would yell to the other players "SUCK ON THAT". It was such a problem to count that eventually he had to use his super power to recall us to his destination. He then lined us up and counted us. Kuroneko: you wien ![]() We were warped somewhere behind the pope's castle place in rachel sanctuary. Pretty osm place if you asked me. All we had to do was decided on what headgear. Kira Yamato was quick to yell Legendary helm but Kuro denied the request. qq. But we all decided that the best thing we could get were elven ears. =D We got our elvens and we all lived happily ever after. Or did we? *------------------------------------------* Side-Story - I know I didn't ._. *------------------------------------------* I went to sell the elvens because I needed money, I gave it to my merchant friend, I gave him a paper with the price I wanted, I guess I scribbled something wrong and instead of selling it for 10m, I sold it for 1m. qq +----------------------------+ Quick thanks to Carlo for proof reading and correct typos. Quick thanks to Joe for reminding me to write this. Enjoy the story, more to come when I'm in a better mood. Also note that my writing style changed in this new chapter, so fuck off. |
