STORRS, Conn. -- The NCAA says that Connecticuts basketball program -- already banned from the post-season for failing to meet other academic standards -- has a graduation rate of just 11 per cent. The one-year measurement, released Thursday for freshman who enrolled in 2005-06, was far below the national average of 74 per cent for mens basketball. Athletic Director Warde Manual, who took that job this year, says the school is committed to improving the programs academic performance and already has implemented changes that are designed to do that. He pointed to improvements last year in the programs Academic Progress Rate as a sign that those changes are working. UConn also pointed out that 14 of its 19 athletic programs have graduation success rates at or above the national average. cheap jerseys us . -- Albertas Jocelyn Peterman scored four in the fourth and five in the fifth to claim a 12-6 victory over Manitobas Shannon Birchard and win the M&M Meat Shops Canadian junior curling championship final on Saturday. cheap jerseys . Gorges will receive the award prior to Saturdays game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. ' ' '
