ST. Beats By Dre . JOHNS, N.L. -- Jason Jaffray is the first to admit he isnt very good in a shootout, but the St. Johns IceCaps captain didnt look out of place in the spotlight Friday. Jaffray scored the final goal of the shootout to lift St. Johns to a 4-3 win over the Albany Devils in American Hockey League play. "Its a little nerve-wracking, but you try not to think about it too much," Jaffray said. "I tried not to think about a move going down and take what the goalie gave me. (Keith Kinkaid) waited me out pretty good, but I had a little bit more patience at the end and slid it into the far corner." Alex Burmistrov also scored in the shootout, while Raymond Sawada, Carl Klingberg and Zach Redmond had goals in regulation for St. Johns (6-7-0). Albany (3-5-3) had goals from Jay Leach, Adam Henrique and Jacob Josefson, while Mattias Tedenby scored in the shootout. IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge praised goaltender Mark Dekanich after the shootout. "(Dekanich) was really good. I thought he made some real key saves for us," said McCambridge. "In the third period he made a point-blank one, and the save he made in the shootout to stretch post-to-post across the crease was a real difference maker in that shootout." The first period was exactly what was expected from a game between the two weakest offences in the league coming into the game, with St. Johns averaging 2.08 goals per game and Albany averaging two. The teams combined for 13 shots, and no goals were scored. The game jumped to life early in the second period when Sawada opened the scoring at 1:54. Sawada buried a cross-ice pass from Maxime Macenauer while he was falling to the ice. McCambridge said the checking line of Macenauer, John Albert and Sawada has been good in all situations for the IceCaps since Sawada returned from an injury five games ago. "They have been really good for us. They have been our energy line and they create chances on the offensive side of the puck," said McCambridge. "Any time I put those guys out there five-on-five they seem to try to get that momentum back on our side, so a nice card to have in your pocket." St. Johns added to its lead at 8:09. Klingberg skated down the right boards and buried a low wrist shot past Kinkaid, who finished with 26 saves. The Devils finished the second period down just one goal when Leach scored at 11:01 on a slapshot that went through the legs of one of the IceCaps. The Devils almost pulled the game level right out of the gate when they had a goal disallowed just 25 seconds into the third. The disallowed goal led to a power play for Albany, but the Devils failed to capitalize. Albany tied the game at even-strength at 5:45 on a goal from Henrique. Henrique gained the zone and scored on a brilliant solo effort over Dekanich, who made 28 saves. The celebration didnt last long for the Devils as the IceCaps took the lead again at 10:38. St. Johns took advantage on a quick break-out from their defensive zone, which featured at least four of the five players, before Redmond buried a shot high. "The goals finally came," said Jaffray. "Its nice to get three goals on the scoreboard tonight from a couple different sources." Albany had another disallowed goal around the six-minute mark. The Devils succeeded in tying the game despite the disallowed goals when Josefson took a feed in the slot and rifled in the tying power-play goal at 17:56. Cheap Beats By Dre UK . "Its not going to be easy," Maciocia said this week. Beats By Dre UK . Seguin scored two goals and had an assist as the Bruins increased their winning streak to five with a 6-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. CLEVELAND -- The Chicago White Sox finally found the formula to win on the road. Jake Peavy struck out 11 in seven innings, Paul Konerko homered and the White Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians 3-1 Sunday. Not only did the White Sox break their five-game losing streak, they won for the first time this season away from U.S. Cellular Field. Chicago began the day as the majors only winless team on the road. The White Sox were swept three games in Washington before dropping the first two against the Indians. Chicago avoided its first 0-6 start on the road since 1968. "In this five-game skid, weve had a chance to get that big hit and make that big pitch and we just havent been able to do it," Peavy said. "Its not like weve been getting boat-raced every night." Peavy (2-1) gave up a home run to Michael Bourn on his first pitch of the game -- a line drive that landed in Chicagos bullpen -- but held the Indians to five hits overall and didnt walk a batter. "I didnt expect Bourn to swing there," Peavy said. "He got me." Indians manager Terry Francona gave full credit to Peavy, who retired 12 straight batters at one point and improved to 4-0 in five career starts against Cleveland. "Bournie kind of ambushed him the first pitch of the game, but after that we didnt have many opportunities to score until late," Francona said. "Hes just a really good veteran pitcher." A day after watching left-hander Chris Sale allow a career-high eight runs in 4 1-3 innings, White Sox manager Robin Ventura liked what he saw from Peavy. "He was just sharp today," Ventura said. "It was one of those (games) where he just seemed to be hitting the glove." Bourn left in the eighth with a cut on hand that needed five stitches to close and is expected to sideline him for several games. First baseman Adam Dunn fielded Bourns slow grounder and tossed to pitcher Matt Thornton, who was covering on the play. Bourn made a headfirst into the bag for an infield hit, but Thornton stepped on his hand. Francona and a trainer examined Bourn, who was removed because of the cut on the index finger of his right hand. Addison Reed pitched the ninth for his fourth save, retiring Jason Giambi with a runner on to end the game. Konerkos two-run homer ruined a solid effort from Brett Myers (0-2), who took a shutout into the sixth. Clevelands right-hander allowed 14 earned runs, including seven homers, in 10 1-3 innings in his first two appearances, but held the White Sox to four hits through five. After Jeff&nnbsp;Keppinger reached on third baseman Lonnie Chisenhalls error to begin the sixth, Alex Rios bounced into a double play.dddddddddddd Dunn walked and Konerko hit a 3-1 pitch into the bleachers. The home run was the second of the season for Konerko, who has hit 30 or more home runs seven times in his career. "I feel like Im climbing a little bit," he said. "I feel better. I wouldnt say Im clicking on all cylinders, but just trying to grind through here. Early on, youre playing in tough weather, tough pitching and all that stuff. And it doesnt come easy." Said Peavy: "We knew it was a matter of time that somebody was going to come up with a big hit. Who better than our captain?" Konerko has 16 career home runs and 75 RBIs at Progressive Field. The White Sox have made a habit of playing close games in the early going. Chicago has played 12 games, with 11 being decided by three runs or less. The exception was Saturdays 9-4 loss. "It looked like after that first few innings it was going to shake out to be a tight ballgame, as it was," Peavy said. "We were fortunate enough to come out on the right side of things." Giambi made his first appearance for the Indians, starting as the designated hitter and going hitless in four at-bats. He began the season on the disabled list with a strained back and was activated Friday. The Indians again played without second baseman Jason Kipnis (sore left elbow) and catcher Carlos Santana (bruised left thumb) in the starting lineup. Kipnis was also out on Saturday while Santana, who walked as a pinch-hitter in the ninth, had missed three straight games. The Indians are off Monday and begin a three-game series Tuesday against Boston at Progressive Field. Francona will face the Red Sox, the team he managed for eight seasons, for the first time since being replaced following the 2011 season when Boston collapsed down the stretch. Francona led the Red Sox to World Series titles in 2004 and 2007. NOTES: Chicago, which is on a 10-game road trip, begins a four-game series in Toronto on Monday. The White Sox will face former teammate Mark Buehrle in the opener. RHP Gavin Floyd (0-2, 5.56) will start for Chicago. ... The White Sox placed INF Angel Sanchez (strained lower back) on the 15-day disabled list and purchased the contract of INF Tyler Greene from Triple-A Charlotte. LHP Charlie Leesman was designated for assignment to make room for Greene on the 40-man roster. ... RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (0-1, 6.97) will pitch the opener of the Boston series on Tuesday. ' ' '
