LONDON -- David Beckhams management company says the former England captain has no plans to play in Australia, disputing claims on Friday by the countrys football federation that talks had already started. Isaac Sopoaga Jersey . Football Federation Australia said on Friday it received an approach by an agent representing the 37-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder to play some matches with an A-League team this season. Despite FFA claiming that talks were at a "preliminary stage," Beckhams representatives denied it. "There is always enormous interest from clubs across the world in signing David as a player," Beckhams management company said in a statement. "There are absolutely no plans to play in Australia. David is completely focused on the MLS playoffs and winning another championship with the Galaxy." Beckham joined the Galaxy in 2007 after a career at Manchester United and Real Madrid turned him into one of footballs biggest stars. He signed a two-year deal with the Galaxy in January, but has yet to commit to playing next season in Major League Soccer. The current campaign ends in two weeks. The denial from Beckhams representatives came after FFA chief executive David Gallop went public with details of the apparent direct talks to bring him to Australia on a short-term basis. "I spoke to the players agent today and said to him it would be fantastic," Gallop told Australian broadcaster Fox Sports. "There would be some hoops to jump through. Clubs need to come forward and be the first point of contact. "What were thinking about is a guest stint. It would be fantastic but were not getting ahead of ourselves at this point. The most I can say is we are talking about a 10-game guest stint and obviously that might whet his appetite to come back." The profile of Australias league has been raised by the arrivals this year of former Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero (Sydney FC) and former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey (Newcastle). Mark Bosnich, Beckhams former teammate at Manchester United, said the A-League should pull out all the stops to secure the star. "Theres a golden opportunity right now to secure Davids services in Australia, not just for 10 games but for a considerable period of time," said Bosnich, now an A-League television commentator. "Lets do everything we can to make it happen," the goalkeeper added. "Theres a small window of opportunity with these things and youve got to ... seize the day, so to speak." Bosnich said Beckham was still capable of performing at the top level. "Hes in outstanding condition, and if theres anyone you would want in your team to have the ball when youre 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go away from home, its David Beckham," Bosnich said. Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou said his team would not be interested in signing Beckham, but Perth Glory chief executive Paul Kelly said he would. "I know hes being touted around, but theres been no conversation," Kelly said. "As usual, Ill always say Im happy to speak to anyone." Michael Crabtree Womens Jersey . Gone are outfielders Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence. Jayson Werth finds it hard to recognize his old team. Werth, now in his second season with the Washington Nationals after four seasons with the Phillies, isnt convinced his old team is finished -- even if they trail the first-place Nationals by 15 1/2 games in the NL East. "Im not convinced its over for them," Werth said. Werth made his comment after he played his first game in nearly three months and watched Ross Detwiler pitch three-hit ball for seven innings, Adam LaRoche homer and Washington beat Philadelphia 3-0 on Thursday night. LaRoche had three hits and two RBIs. Werth also drove in a run for the NL East leaders in his first game back from a broken wrist. The Phillies won the first two games of the three-game series, and return home for the first time since they in effect conceded the 2012 season. "We won the series and, lets go home and build on that and try to win another series, see how many we can win on the way out. Thats the attitude I think youve got to have," first baseman Ty Wigginton said. Manager Charlie Manuel thinks the fans who pack Citizens Bank Park will still support the team. "We just cant lose like we have been, at that pace. I think weve got to win some games. I think weve got to show them that we think we can win some games," Manuel said. Detwiler (6-4) won for the second time in his last 11 starts. He gave up three singles and retired his final 14 batters, finishing with three strikeouts and two walks. Sean Burnett tossed a perfect eighth and Tyler Clippard worked a hitless ninth for his 21st save in 23 chances. He walked two but struck out pinch-hitter Ryan Howard for the third out. Howard is in a 2-for-20 slump. "I felt like that was our best option. I felt like he definitely was more likely to catch one," Manuel said. Cole Hamels (11-6) allowed three runs and eight hits in seven innings. The All-Star leftyy has one win in his past seven starts and has lost both outings since signing a $144 million, six-year contract last month. Jonathan Goodwin Jersey. "You just have to stay with it and keep fighting no matter where we are in the standings and what the score is," Hamels said. "Because every game matters, and obviously it matters for the rest of your career. You dont get back this day." Hamels won his previous two starts against Washington this season, giving up one earned run in 16 innings. LaRoche had a second-inning home run, his 20th, to go with a run-scoring single in the third and a single in the sixth. He was thrown out by Phillies right fielder John Mayberry Jr. when he tried to score on Steve Lombardozzis fly ball. Philadelphias best chance to score came in the second, but Mayberry was cut down at the plate by right fielder Bryce Harper when he tried to score on Michael Martinezs single. LaRoche has hit in 10 straight games and is batting .432 during the stretch. Werth, who missed nearly three months with a broken left wrist, was activated before the game and singled after LaRoches home run. He drove in the third run in the third inning on an infield out.
