WASHINGTON -- A day after announcing that Stephen Strasburg will start only twice more this season, Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson met with the star right-hander to explain the decision. Black Ray Rice Jersey . Johnson was joined by general manager Mike Rizzo and pitching coach Steve McCatty. Strasburg, who is 15-6 with a 2.94 ERA and leads the National League with 195 strikeouts, had Tommy John surgery to replace an elbow ligament two years ago. "Im not sure any of us understand," Johnson said. "But its the right thing to do." For months, Johnson has been peppered with questions about the Nationals plan and he always said the team would limit his innings. Strasburg has thrown 156 1-3. Hes averaged just under six innings in his 27 starts. "Ive listened to all the gurus. Ive had all the advice. None of it made much sense," Johnson said. Strasburg is projected to make his final two starts on Friday against Miami and on Sept. 12 in New York. "Its no secret that Stras is an intense competitor, that he wants to be here, wants to be contributing, wants to be helping and Im sure its probably eating him up more than anybody involved in this whole thing because he wants to be here and helping his teammates. Hes worked harder than anybody coming back from that surgery, and this what you dream about being a part of. I know how he feels," Johnson said. The Nationals enter Monday with the best record in the majors and lead the NL East by 6 1-2 games over Atlanta. "I dont look at this as the only chance youre going to get to be in the post-season, the World Series. This team wasnt just piecemealed together for one year. It was built to last, and were trying to make sure it lasts," Johnson said. Ray Rice Super Bowl Jersey . Maybe their Sept. 15 bout isnt such a gross size mismatch after all. Maybe Lopez really has another shot at an incredible upset. The matchup is the latest unlikely chapter for Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs), a virtually unknown fighter outside of his native Southern California before last month. Youth Haloti Ngata Jersey . The 57th-ranked Wozniak trailed 4-1 in Sundays opening set against El Tabakh. But the Toronto resident, ranked 183rd in the world, missed on three nervous set points and was broken in her last two service games as Wozniak turned the momentum. http://www.nflravensgearshop.com/haloti-ngata-jersey/ . A.J. Burnett (12-3) shut out the Astros for seven innings before Chris Johnson and Carlos Corporan connected for solo homers in the eighth to cut the lead to 5-2, bringing Brad Lincoln out of the bullpen with one out. Pink Ray Rice Jersey . -- Reggie Waynes world is changing. Ravens Haloti Ngata Jersey . The Impact received an international roster spot for 2014 from the Rapids for Wahl, who was acquired in a trade with Seattle in November. He played in 11 games for Montreal at centre back or on the left side. MIAMI -- With the way hes pitching these days, Josh Johnson needs very little run support. Johnson (5-5) pitched six strong innings to help the Miami Marlins win consecutive games for the first time in nearly a month and keep Cliff Lee winless with a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. Johnson wrapped up June with a 2-2 record and 1.87 ERA in five starts. "Hes our ace for a reason," Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said. Johnson (5-5) allowed one run and four hits while striking out six. He threw 69 of 108 pitches for strikes. "This month wasnt the best pitching-wise, but someone had to step up and try to help the bullpen out a little bit," Johnson said. Justin Ruggiano tied a career high with three hits and drove in two runs for Miami, which last won consecutive games June 2-3 at Philadelphia. The Marlins were 4-17 since. "I didnt think we had back-to-back wins since spring training," Guillen said. "It seems like were coming around little by little." Lee (0-5) allowed six runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings, falling to 0-2 with a 7.30 ERA in his last four starts. "It was just weird," Lee said. "It seemed everything they hit went between third and short. They got a lot of hits. It was one of those nights. I cant really explain it." Hunter Pence homered for the Phillies, who played for the first time at the new Marlins Park. "Nice, real nice," said Phillies left fielder Juan Pierre, a former Marlin. "They did a real good job with it. The fans are in here and its loud, thats for sure. Miami deserves to have a stadium." It was Ruggianos first three-hit game since June 12, 2011, at Baltimore while with Tampa Bay, and the third of his career. "He rrakes," Johnson said. Camo Ray Rice Jersey. "We were talking about it after his third hit, he never stops hitting." Jose Reyes doubled to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the Marlins and scored on a groundout by Logan Morrison. "When you jump up 1-0 with J.J. on the mound, it is a different ballgame," Guillen said. The Marlins strung together four straight hits in the third including an RBI single by Giancarlo Stanton. Omar Infantes sacrifice fly pushed the lead to 3-0. Pence cut the deficit to 3-1 with his 15th homer over the right-field fence. "Johnson was good tonight," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "Johnsons a good pitcher. Give him credit, too, but at the same time, we scored one run off him and we didnt play well enough to win." Ruggianos two-run double followed by John Bucks RBI single ended Lees outing. "Anytime you can get a couple runs extra on the board, it allows everyone to relax a little bit and take a breath," Ruggiano said. Pence added an RBI single in the ninth. NOTES: Ruggiano leads the Marlins with a .396 batting average (19 for 48) in June. ... Pence is batting .462 (12 for 26) with three home runs and seven RBIs in seven games against the Marlins this season. ....
