CHICAGO -- Brandon Inge knew as soon as he made a diving stop in the seventh inning what was wrong with his shoulder and what he needed to do as quickly as possible. Bernard Pierce Jersey . So, he just popped it back into place and stayed in the game Saturday night. Two batters later, he started an inning-ending double play at third base, and then in the eighth he delivered the go-ahead single for the Oakland Athletics in a 9-7 victory over the Chicago White Sox. "I dislocated it. I just had to put it back in the socket," Inge said of his right shoulder that came out of place after he made a diving stop in the seventh on Alex Rios infield single down the third base line. "It might get a little sore tomorrow, but Ill do my best," Inge said. The White Sox went on to score in the seventh on A.J. Pierzynskis RBI single for a 7-6 lead. But Jonny Gomes homered off Matt Thornton (4-8) in the eighth, and after singles by Yoenis Cespedes and Chris Carter, Inge greeted reliever Brett Myers with a go-ahead single into the right field corner. "I guess it just shows two teams that dont want to give up. I like that," Inge said. Inge said he would do what was best for the As on Sunday but hopes to be in the lineup. "I plan on playing. If I feel like Im going to be a detriment to the team, I wont come back in," he said. "If I feel like I have something to offer, Ill play through some pain. Just make sure Im somewhat smart about it." Gomes added an RBI single in the top of the ninth before Grant Balfour pitched the bottom half for his eighth save in 10 chances, his first since May 5. Balfour took the closers role back from Ryan Cook (5-2), who gave up Pierzynskis single in the seventh but got the win. "I was surprised he stayed in the game. He felt like the shoulder may have come out of the socket and went back in," Oakland manager Bob Melvin said of the veteran Inge. "He stayed in, made a great play on the double play and ends up getting what ends up being the biggest hit. We all know hes a very tough guy and can play through a lot of pain." Tyler Flowers homered and had three RBIs and a career-high three hits for the White Sox. Kevin Youkilis also homered for Chicago and was hit in the left forearm by Balfours pitch in the ninth. Thornton took the blame for the pitch he made to Gomes. "Its really frustrating. Weve been playing well and I didnt do my job," he said. "One-run lead and I thought it was a good idea to throw him a breaking ball. He jumped all over it." Chicago starter Francisco Liriano, who left his previous start after five innings with a bruised right quadriceps, didnt make it out of the fourth this time. He surrendered seven hits and six runs in 3 1-3 innings. He struck out four of the first five batters Saturday before he got in trouble in the third when the As loaded the bases on a single, walk and hit batter. Carter delivered a two-run single, Inge walked to reload the bases, and Derek Norris had a two-run, ground-rule double. Adam Rosales then drove in the fifth run of the inning with a single as Oakland sent 10 batters to the plate. Chicago scored two in the second on an infield out by Dayan Viciedo and an RBI double by Flowers. Josh Reddick had an RBI single for Oakland in the fourth, and Flowers added a run-scoring single for the White Sox in the bottom half. Youkilis hit his 14th homer in the fifth to make it 6-5. It was his 10th since joining the White Sox in a June 24 trade from Boston. Flowers third homer of the season tied it at 6-6 in the sixth. Oaklands Travis Blackley, in his first start since July 29, gave up five runs and six hits in five innings. Notes: Cook has been removed from the closers role, at least temporarily, by Melvin, who said he wanted to get the rookie some work in lower-pressure situations. Cook has converted just two of his last six save opportunities, and 12 of 19 for the season. ... White Sox 1B Paul Konerko will take it easy this weekend and will be re-evaluated by doctors after suffering a concussion earlier this week and being placed on the 7-day DL. Chicago manager Robin Ventura said Konerko wont be on the first part of next weeks trip that starts in Toronto. OF Dewayne Wise was called up from Triple-A to take Konerkos roster spot. Marshal Yanda Jersey . -- The Phoenix Coyotes survived stretches of playing on their heels in the playoffs first two rounds, absorbing everything the opponent threw at them before counterpunching with a winning goal. Terrell Suggs Elite Jersey . and Manny Pacquiao are settling a federal defamation case in Las Vegas, clearing a key hurdle to a long-awaited bout between two top fighters whove traded verbal jabs for years but have never met in the ring. http://www.nflravensfansstore.com/nike-courtney-upshaw-Ravens-jersey/ . The Lakers (0-8) played without Kobe Bryant, who is nursing a bruised and strained right foot and is questionable for Tuesdays opener against Dallas. Sam Koch Jersey . Couples had 12 birdies -- six in a back-nine 30 -- and a double bogey to reach 17 under at TPC San Antonios Canyons Course, the first-year venue after nine years at Oak Hills. "It was just a lot of birdies, which you need to do, though I dont think you need to get 12 of them," said Couples, who only remembers shooting a 61 in a competitive round at the Scandinavian Masters in Sweden. Ray Lewis Camo Jersey . The veteran took it a step farther before Sundays kickoff. He predicted on his Twitter account the score by which the Giants would win.Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos appreciates Jose Bautistas desire to win, but he wont let it change his plan for the team. Bautista -- the Jays lone representative for the mid-summer classic -- placed second in Mondays Home-Run Derby and was front and centre, making a great catch in Tuesdays game. But he also generated buzz with comments calling for Anthopoulos to improve the team as it searches for its first playoff berth in nearly two decades. On Thursday, it was Anthopoulos turn to react to his stars statements. Speaking with at a media conference scheduled to announce the re-signing of first-baseman Edwin Encarnacion to a three-year, $27 million contract extension, Anthopoulos said Bautistas comments wont affect the way he operates the club. "I wanna win just as much as anyone else," Anthopoulos said. "It doesnt change my mindset. It doesnt change what were going to do as an organization. Some people might try to take it and spin it, but I dont see it that way." Anthopoulos said Bautistas comments reflected the passion the two-time Hank Aaron Award winner brings to the table. "I want our best players being passionate and talking about winning and thats the sole focus," Anthopoulos said. "Everybody in that clubhouse needs to believe that we have a chance to win. I dont want Jose to ever lose that and he knows that and we have a great relationship. We talk all the time." Bautista began his All-Star week saying the team needed to add to its pitching staff if it wanted to compete for a playoff spot in the second half of the season. The team has lost five pitchers to the disabled list in the last month, " think we need to get some help on the pitching side," Bautista told reporters on Monday. "I dont think its a secret, and Im not saying it to put any pressure on the organization or on Alex or on the ownership, but theyd bee the first one to tell you thats what they need to do. Arthur Jones Jersey. " ESPNs Dan Shulman joined TSN Radio Torontos Cybulski & Company on Tuesday to chat about Bautistas comments. Shulman said although he understood where Bautista was coming from, the time may not be right to be adding players via trade. "Its always dangerous when players try to act as general managers," Shulman said. "I understand Jose Bautistas sentiment 100 per cent, I happen to disagree with it…I dont think theyre good enough right now -now, with Luis Perez out too - I mean theyre dropping like flies." Bautista did not back down on his comments following Tuesdays game, saying hed like to see the team make a push while he was still in his prime. "Im looking forward to the second half," Bautista told reporters Tuesday. "Hopefully we have a strong one. Were within reach and trying to get into the playoffs. "Im not getting any younger and Ive been on losing teams for a long time," he continued. "Ever since Ive been here weve been on the winning side, but not made the playoffs yet." Shulman went on to say he thought injuries to the teams pitching staff may be too tough to overcome. "Sometimes you may have to say that this is not the time to go for it," Shulman said. "[Im] not necessarily saying be a seller, but with another pitching injury and with five of their top 10 pitchers on the DL and likely out for the season, it just seems the odds are a little bit long." Anthopoulos said he supports his star and complimented Bautista on the leadership he displays both on the field and off. "Jose does a lot behind the scenes trying to promote the club, the organization, the players and so on," Anthopoulos said. "And he does believe in the players in that clubhouse and thats something I love to see as a general manager." ' ' '
