Hes not leading, in fact hes four back with 36 to play, but there seems to be a sense that Tiger Woods is in control of this tournament. Andrew Luck Elite Jersey . But lets slow down just a minute before we give the engraver the OK to start etching Woods name onto the Claret Jug for a fourth time. Yes, Woods has played well, but two others have played better. Maybe the combined total of major victories of those two, Adam Scott and Brandt Snedeker, is 14 behind Woods, but they arent exactly inexperienced. And lets not forget what happened to Tiger at the U.S. Open just a month ago when he held the 36-hole lead. For those with short memories, he suffered through his worst weekend in a major before ending up in 21st. Woods right now is four back of Snedekers lead, which isnt really much when you consider this course, with its 206 bunkers, and the wind forecast for Sunday (although the meteorologists have been only slightly less unpredictable than Woods has this year). But hes also only two ahead of a gaggle of golfers, including the likes of Graeme McDowell, Matt Kuchar and Jason Dufner. In Snedeker, the likeable redhead from Nashville, there is much to appreciate. Along with his Canadian caddie, Scott Vail, from Oshawa, Ont., he has navigated his ball through 36 holes at Royal Lytham without a bogey and without hitting any bunkers, many of which resembled little swimming pools yesterday in the boggy conditions. Thats impressive. Its only the second time since 2000 that anyones played the first two rounds of a major without a bogey (the other guy to do that was someone named Woods). Vail said the two were having fun, which tells you a lot considering the miserable weather here. The game plan has been centre of the fairway, centre of the green and let the putter do the rest. He calls it boring golf. So far, its worked, especially when the putter is working as well as it has for Snedeker. As impressive as thats been, he said he wouldnt be surprised if golf fans on both sides of the pond wondered just who the heck he was, in spite of the fact hes won three times, including this year at Torrey Pines. Scott has been expected to win a major for about as long as hes been on tour but always fell short. He does have a so-called fifth major, the Players, but that was eight years ago. He looks calm so far and has continued to play steady but also urgent golf, trying to look at every hole as if its the 72nd. Scott has altered his year to allow himself to prepare for the majors; so far, hes only tipped it up in nine tournaments, trading tournament play for practice time. He tied for eighth at the Masters and 15th at the U.S. Open so he believes its working. Woods has looked efficient, if not exactly spectacular, save for his final shot on Friday, which went from a relatively dry bunker into the cup. He used the driver only once bringing his two-day total to three perhaps giving up some yardage but trying to stay away from the rough and bunkers. Still, there are signs that he isnt quite spot on. He has played Lythams two par 5s in even par for two rounds and his short game hasnt exactly been stellar. But in the previous seven times hes opened majors with two rounds in the 60s, hes gone on to win, which bodes well. Its all setting up for an interesting Saturday. NOTES: Stephen Ames, who missed the cut, is going to re-assess his game after next weeks RBC Canadian Open and that may mean wholesale personnel changes to his entourage. Hell likely part ways with his caddie, Don Donatello, simply because Ames wont be playing much and a caddie needs to eat. And there will likely be a different sports psychologist next year. He is also considering -- stress, that. . . considering -- splitting with Sean Foley because he wants more of the instructors time. The two friends, who are staying together this week in England, will dicuss the situation down the road. Ames said hes only seen Foley seven times this year, which isnt enough for his liking. Depending on how he feels, Ames will end his year in Hamilton Reggie Wayne Limited Jersey . There had been speculation about whether his partner would be Pospisil or Canadas top-ranking singles player, Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont. Adam Vinatieri Camo Jersey . Kadri and Colborne both had their first goals of the season on Saturday, leading the Toronto Marlies four-goal rally and a 5-3 victory over the San Antonio Rampage in American Hockey League action. http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamstore.com/antoine-bethea-jersey . Faced with an initial proposal in collective bargaining that held absolutely no appeal, NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr is proceeding as though it never happened. Cory Redding Jersey . -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed first-round draft pick Mark Barron to a five-year contract. Donnie Avery Camo Jersey . Defensive backs Ahmad Carroll and Jamaan Webb were added, along with defensive end Curtis Johnson and receiver Jessie Hubbard.BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins beat the lockout deadline and signed forward Milan Lucic to a three-year contract extension on Saturday that will pay him US$6 million a year and make him the highest-paid forward on the team. Lucic, a second-round choice in 2006, is a Vancouver native and was a key part of Bostons 2011 Stanley Cup victory over the Canucks. He had five goals and seven assists in that championship run. "I have spent five great years here in Boston and Ive really embraced the city and the Boston Bruins, and they have embraced me," he said in a conference call. "Im really excited for this and happy to be remaining a Bruin. There is no other team in the NHL Id rather play for." Last year, as Boston won the Northeast Division, Lucic had 26 goals and 61 points, and has 90 goals in five seasons with the Bruins. The 24-year-old Lucic is another Bruin to receive a new deal with an NHL lockout looming. In less than two weeks, Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli has also giveen new contracts to forwards Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin. T.Y. Hilton Elite Jersey. "We have been winning and we will continue to use this approach. A guy like Milan is a perfect example," Chiarelli said. "He marks the end of three signings that weve done over the course of a couple of weeks," Chiarelli said. "I am very happy to have completed them. I think it shows commitments from Milan and the other players and a commitment from our owners." Lucic has noticed. "Him keeping all the core guys, all the guys I have built really good relationships with here, thats obviously makes me want to stay more. He believes in all of us as players, and we believe in him and what he is trying to build here," he said. "Peter definitely has done a good job of finding guys who are willing to sacrifice and be on the same page. That is why were a real competitive team. We achieved our ultimate goal in 2011 and we plan to do the same heading into the future." ' ' '
