Hello my friends, I'd like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about some of the issues facing Leviathan, and what I plan to do as you're Director of the Interior, if you should honor me with that post. I'd like to start off my speech by saying that this will be the very first administration in our history, we are developing and defining the roles of everyone. We need responsible people to set wise precedents for future generations about the limits and responsibilities of every branch of our government. Let me speak a little about myself. Most of you know that I've been around from Day 0, and that I've been the biggest single recruiter in the region. Whether elected or not, I hope to keep that role. Now, a few words about my experience. I've served in numerous roles, as an invader and a defender, a soldier and a diplomat, and a King and a President. I have the experience needed to know how regions rise and fall, and the technical knowledge to implement the policies we need. If I may, allow me to outline a few that I plan to implement if elected as Director of the Interior Improved recruitment telegrams. We've got one recruitment telegram which has, through numerous guttings and additions, served Leviathan throughout her lifespan. However, with the end of provisional government, this telegram is old and outdated, and needs to be retired and a new version made. Not only will I work to draft a new one, but I also plan to draw up a customized version for nations that find themselves newly reformed in Lazarus. Coordinated Recruitment. I'm going to create a simple sheet of paper where in one can sign in and out of recruiting efforts. While simple and overused, this is quite possibly the most effective tool the recruiter has, as it allows simple and easy recruitment with having nations receive two telegrams with the same message. Rewards for recruiting. As Director of the Interior, I'll push the Common Council to institute a graduated honors system for those that improve their region the most by putting the most man hours into enlarging our region. Increase Participation, not just Recruitment My plan is to write up a simple telegram welcoming nations new to the region, and inviting them to partake in the regional government. With a telegram base flexible enough to be adapted to the individual nation, we get some great mileage out of this program Enlivening the regional culture While my concentration is going to be on immigration, I most assuredly won't forget the critical importance of culture to the Director of the Interior's role. As DoI, I plan to encourage innovative new ideas, and allow people free reign to improvise, create and enlighten. |

Strategic recruitment is something that few regions can boast. Most seem to approach recruitment with the attitude of one taking out the garbage: it is done because it must be done, and the quicker it gets done, the better. With that kind of attitude, the results are predictable. Most regions die from a weak recruitment effort. By elevating recruitment to an art form, and making it more than a chore to be grudginly completed, there's no telling what heights we can reach as a region. That was my very long-winded way of saying that I heartily support this platform. |
