With the construction completed, and the December Accord signed, it's time to get down to picking our best and brightest of us representatives to join the senate. Keep in mind, there will only be three people, so decisions must be made carefully. Don't hesitate to nominate yourself, or other people. Personally, I'd like to nominate the representative from Drazill. He singlehandedly wrote up a document, that was, in my opinion, second only to the one I helped write in terms of style and effectiveness. He's displayed an excellent grasp of government, and and a great devotion to Leviathan, having drawn the map of our lands. I feel he would make an excellent senator! |

Before I make my nominations, I'd like to make a few things very clear.... What the Senate Is:
What the Senate Is Not:
With that in mind... I would like to second the nomination of the representative from Drazill. His contributions to the treaty drafting process were impressive, and I think displayed not only dedication to the region, but a solid grasp of the intricacies of regional law and a willingness to muddle around with detail work. It took the combined efforts of the representative from Maloran and myself to write the December Accords, but it was the representative from Drazill alone who tackled the Treaty of Chugonin. I would also like to nominate the representative from Sith Republic. While he is not nearly as visible in the capitol as many of the representatives here are, he was an invaluable source of behind-the-scenes help when this region was founded. He has advised me on everything from the layout of the capitol to recruitment strategy. He contributed to the early recruitment effort that has been so successful, and helped stir up early activity here. As a Senator, he would tirelessly work toward preserving the founding vision of Leviathan, simply because he helped inspire it himself. My final, and most heartfelt, nomination goes to the representative from Maloran. Without him, there would be no Leviathan. From the very moment I decided to found this region, he was a source of advice, inspiration, and, above all, hard work. He has personally recruited the vast majority of the region, and has helped me tailor the recruitment message that brought all of you here today. He contributed significantly to the drafting of the December Accords. His knowledge of foreign affairs, defense, and nearly every other aspect of government is vast. Though he does not represent the founding nation of Leviathan, he represents its founding spirit. I can think of no better person to serve in the Senate than he. |

Than you for the nomination, but I feel I must reject. Co-writing a document with a talented writer such as yourself is closer to pleasure than business, and sending out a plethora of telegrams is something that could be done by a trained monkey. Hardly what one expects of a Senator of the Leviathan Republic. Instead, I plan to serve with my peers in the Common Council. Perhaps after learning a few lessons there I can hope to apply for the Senate. Instead, I'd like to nominate you. It was the nation of Stanimir that founded this region, built the capital we stand discussing in, and personally recruited perhaps half of the nations sending representatives. You were the driving force behind the December Accords, and I've never known anyone with a more supple intellect or a better eye for the details of complex legislation. Nor, to be franks, have I heard a man with as much skill with language, both your own and one of the dozens of others you picked up. In short, the very model of a Senator of Leviathan. I feel it would serve the Senate admirably for you to sit in it. |

I am saddened that you feel this way, Commissar Connor. However, I admire your honesty and eagerly await your future application to the Senate. I am deeply honored to receive nominations from the honored representatives from Maloran and Ciryatania. With Diplomat Vierovich's second nomination, I now have the ability to put myself in the pool of candidates for admission to the Senate's hallowed halls. Gentlemen, it is with a deep sense of gratitude that I accept your nominations for the Senate. I realize that membership in the Senate carries with it a heavy burden of responsibility. It is my intent, from the very beginning, to do all that I can to preserve the honor and integrity of the Senate as the guardian of the Leviathan Republic. Though my candidacy may end in rejection, to put myself forth as a candidate is honorable enough for one such as me. I will try my best not to let you, or the region, down. |

Councilman Vertrios. While I thank you for your support, I must decline the nomination. As I have said before, I do not believe I currently posses the intellectual rigor or legislative ability to do the Senate justice. In my place I would nominate the representative from the Sith Republic. He has mostly been engaged in behind the scenes work, but his support has been invaluable to the foundation of the Leviathan Republic. |

I, for one nominates the representatives ofDrazil and Stanimir for the Senate. They have done great work for the founding of our region, and they most certainly tried to work out compromises with my nation's representative. I think that they are the ones who will most certainly bring our region into a golden age. |

I thank you, Councilman von Hystle Set. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that my only motive in not returning the favor and nominating you in return is that I feel your talents are needed in the Common Council. so that just as the Senate will act as a check against the Common Council, the Common Council will act as a check against the Senate. I deeply admire the fact that you've been willing to stand out as a voice of opposition to certain proposals throughout the founding process, and I feel that it would be a crime against the Common Council to take away one of its most promising voices of dissent. |

I would like to thank the assembled representatives for my nominations. I happily accept. Now, we have thought long and hard, and for his ideas and activity with us these early days of the alliance, we would like to nominate the representative of konosis. |
