Still no news on sequel

Looks like it's a no-go for this year anyway. And even so, we'd already be out Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair given that they signed with the competition. So the likelihood of LoW being a one-off seems stronger than ever. And another "big star" is also rumored to debut for TNA soon as well.

On the bright side, Monday nights are looking to get a lot more interesting!

Well, a LOWM sequel without Hogan and Flair would be pretty pointless anyway, in my humble opinion.

I'm not sure what to make of their involvement with TNA...part of me is thrilled at the prospect of a new Monday Night War, but if Hogan and Flair stick with TNA long term, how long will it be before we see another WWE wrestling game including those two crucial names?

I can't really picture Hogan vs. Samoa Joe in a TNA game, personally...

Good point; this is a weird time for wrestling (just seeing Flair in TNA is surreal after the send-off WWE gave him) but hopefully it will be good for the fans.

I almost wouldn't mind if they could make a sequel where the core mechanics were so incredibly fun and solid and we could at least CAL the missing guys (I suppose some would quip that they already did that and it's called SvR 2010). But THQ will obviously balk at the idea of doing another LOW without Hogan from a conceptual and marketing standpoint. And they obviously wouldn't be able to put Wrestlemania in the title and not have him in there, though Flair you could at least conceivably get away with.

It's a real bummer. I feel LOW isn't standing the test of time (I can still have a decent singles or tag match with it here and there but don't play it much as it does feel strangely vapid given my love for the era) and the culture industry, if you will, isn't going to see Legends-based media as viable forever. But what else is there to say... besides maybe...

Shit.
