I have heard on the Grapevine that Stuart Turner of Quorn has allegedly reported Anstey Nomads to the inland revenue following their capture of Sean Bowles on an alleged £5000 signing on fee and £225 per week - whether or not it is true that is another matter. Did not something like this happen a few years back with Oadby Town..... Edited by NigelH, Oct 27 2008, 05:10 PM.

I am sure this is just sour grapes. I would say that 99% of local footballers are 'paid' in the incorrect way and Mr Turner is obviously a bit annoyed so wants to stir up a bit of trouble for Mr Deeley. I am sure if Mr Deeley is clever enough he will quickly get him on the books of his construction company and pay him him 'bonus'. |

Like I said, it was something I overheard being discussed, personally I doubt if he has, as it would'nt acheive alot as I know a lot of clubs are currently having to fill in forms for the inland revenue. |

I will be surprised if Quorn are the only club that report the Nomads to the Inland Revenue. I've heard (allegedly) that Robert Holmes is / has taken an interest in the amount that they are paying out without it being declared. I'm not sure what Oadby did a few years back - they have been using the PAYE system for a quite a few years now. Everything they do regarding players wages is all above board. |
