How are they looking so far this year? I see they are near the bottom of the table, but they picked up a good win against Coventry recently. Also, good to see that they won their FA Vase game.

Any players still left from the 2005-06 season?

We had a tough start and after playing 9 games we have played the top 5 of 6 already, The Cov game was a belter 1-0,1-1,2-1,2-2 and finally won it 3-2 with Danny Hodgkinson scoring a 25 yarder in the top corner, unfortunately Hodgo has since decided to move to Coalville Town

Thanks, I lived in Leicester for close to two years up until December 2006, so I went to a lot of FL&E games. Always check their results every weekend. I see Gibbons, and Chapman are still around. What about Lee Roper? Is he still playing?

Hi Jameson, hope your well, are you still working in Czech (can't spell the whole word). Lee Roper is on his travels around the world, currently in Australia. Some of the other players from that season as follows. Andy Smith dislocated his shoulder and is currently not playing in case he puts it out again, Elliott Wright, Mark Connolly and Kris Stevenson play for Kingsway Rangers, Lee Westley is at Oadby Town, Danny Gibbons is at Kirby Muxloe, Chappo and Lewis Gibbons are still at the Lane and I think David Kendrick ( I think that was his name) was at Barlestone St Giles. Clem Dublin is currently manager of St Andrews. Not sure of the rest.

Are you coming to England at any time, if so give me a shout, take care

Hi Nigel, thanks for the update. I am always curious to see who is still at the club, or who has left.

Too bad Friar Lane and Epworth seem to be struggling near the bottom of the table this year. It is odd that they are performing much better away from home. I see that they won 6-1 on Tuesday night against Boldmere St Michaels in the 2nd round of the league cup.

I hope to get to England next summer, perhaps in August to catch a few games. Next weekend I am off to Macedonia to see Canada play. It should be a good trip.

Whose in line to replace him if he went?

Wouldn't be surprised if Gobby went off his own accord due to him knowing the club is really going backwards instead of forwards. Would be a very good manager for a senior league prem or EMCL club though
