Yes, they sacked Stu Dealey last week, a joke IMO. The season is less than 6 weeks away - no manager?? A rumour is Rob Harris or Drew Wardle might do it. Fordy reckons most of the players are staying.......... They'll be my relegation favourites Edited by SCREP, Jul 7 2009, 08:54 AM.

See Nomads advertising their job last night in Mercury. Should have read 'Mission Impossible' anyone fancy a thankless task, trying to build a side from scratch. Whoever takes it must be a brave man, they've got to have 25 registered players by 25th July. |

So yet again this will mean that he will pay players alot of cash to leave Anstey an East Midlands counties team and join a senior league team in Thurmastone just as he did at Ashfordby. Are many of last seasons Anstey squad joining Thurmastone??? Alot of these guys reckon they do not get paid a penny but seen as these players got promotion with Asfordby then left then promotion again with Anstey with a good possibility that they will leave again proves that they have no ambition as players and are just money grabbing!

It wasn't his choice, he was sacked. I agree with a lot of players being money grabbing, but not all. There are 1000's out there that play for the love of it, then there are those who will go to the highest offer. In this day an age, the argument could go on forever, look at Ronaldo, Beckham...... Do you really think those players would have gone to Nomads in the first place? Great setup!!! Great pitch!!! Somehow I don't think so. I think Nomads were daft to sack him, or if they are crying now why employ him in the first place? Edited by SCREP, Jul 10 2009, 02:05 PM.

I heard rumours that he was promised the upgrading of facilities to progress higher than the counties league in the future if they got promotion but when promotion came they wouldnt imporve. I totally agree with how sadly money talks when it comes down to some players even at this level, i think the days have gone where you work hard all week for a laugh with your friends at the weekends followed by a few beers. Alot of players now go lookin for the pound signs. It must be frustrating for teams in that league such as Blaby and ashby who need to finish top of the league to get promotion but cant because teams like anstey and possibly thurmastone next season keep paying big money to bring players / ex pro's from higher leagues to win titles and reform at another club the following season to do the same . Im guessing Blaby and Ashby havent got that sort of cash to throw around for players but both teams are ready or have plans in the pipeline facilities wise if promotion comes. |
