Top of the table clash; Top two meet

Posts: 49 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: Oct 19, 2008	Due to a fixture change, Desford FC will now be playing Houghton away this weekend. A win for Desford would put daylight between ourselves and the rest of the pack.

ELANO Posts: 107 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: Oct 14, 2008	I have to say Houghton did play very well, well organised and definately looking like they wanted it more. Desford had there chances and had they had a bit more composure early doors it might have been a closer score. Ex Coalville, Friar Lane player Andy Almond playing in a more or less free role looked the class he is, setting up the first with an excellent cross from the byeline and scoring the other two. A good game in all in all, I will try and get the photos online later today.

I thought the first half was even and 1-1 was a fair score, though Paddy Smith was unlucky with two efforts either side of the goal. The second was all Houghton and come the end they deserved the victory. Like previously stated Andy Almond was the difference. Will hopefully be attending the rematch at Houghton.
