Just tell us a little about yourself and why you are here! Do you have any armor? Have you ever made props before? Ever work with resin? Bondo? Fiberglass? Or other? Do you have a pet pickle? Just say whatever you want! ------------ Mine: Real Name: I started making costumes and such as a member of the 405th Infantry Division (Halo Costuming) and later decided that 40K had some cool stuff to make as well. Started all of this, since there are no other 40k Costuming groups! One brother, one mom, one dad, one dog, one leopard gecko, 13 fish.I am in college for Graphic Design and like making cursor sets for my computer. Recently made some transparent sets which go very well with vista and osx. I am currently working on creating my own miniature wargame company, though for now and mainly working on rules as I do not have the money no materials to actually make the miniatures. hi, my real name is douglas parkinson, i live near canterbury, england. i was among the first people here. i was the person who uploaded completed pics of the beaky helmet. i made some rather simple cardboard armour for games day uk 2008, most of which went in the bin. the closest to props i've made is paper miniatures. i've never worked with any of the above, not even green stuff. i have two (fat, lazy) cats named humo (silent h) and nox. i have four brothers that i live with. man, they are a pain! sometimes i hate being 16! |

Hail! My name is Mac, I'm 26 years old from Tampa Florida. I too started out in the 405th community, crafted a nice set of mark IV gear from pep files, tried my hand at some wood working with an assault rifle, then moved onto sculpting a 1:1 scale helmet. Due to my inexperience with clays I was unable to cast my helm and thus the journey ended with that project. I have been extremely interested in the design of the 40k world for years, although I have never played tabletop, just the pc games. I've been following Kaaskop over at deviant art for some time now, watching his build progress with great enthusiasm and much excitement and that's basically what sparked me to try my hand at another build. I honestly haven't the foggiest how I stumbled unto this site, but I'm glad I did! My best friend of nearly 15 years will also be helping with this project so I'll be sure to let him know about this too. I guess my goal here is to meet like minded individuals who share the same passion as I do, learn more about casting and molding processes, and to also form new friendships. I look forward to chatting with you all in the near future, cheers

Name: Brutus MacGreggor Age: 37 Place: Dallas, Texas (but I'm a Raiders fan) About: A former Marine (U.S., not space, and a K9 handler specializing in explosives detection) I got into the whole 1:1 armor build by accident. While attempting to build a "one of a kind" suit for a low budget movie I will eventually make I decided to strut it around for halloween 2008. it was a hit. Umpire shin protection, motorcross pressure suit, Aliens resin gun, and what turned out to be a knock off NAS Sky helm. Awesome! Not enough! I discovered the 405th forums about 2 weeks after the suit was completed... and my heart sank! I could have built a Halo suit that would have made the cheese of a costume that Microsoft squatted out look like... well, cheese! Researching the forum... different ideas... whether or not the patience was there... I started the daunting task of getting the supplies. In the works are: Gears of War torso, cod piece, and greave... MKVI forearms, bicep, and thighs... EVA shoulders A little bondo for shape and detail... and I'm HOPING for an original looking suit with fans for cooling, lights for, well, lighting... and then the job of casting, molding and producing (for the movie) Not one to limit m'self... already thinking about using a power sprayer to paint with automotive paints, and dreaming about the eventual showing of a Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders painted power suit when they play this year in the new sadium here in Dallas... here's to hoping!
