Rubbing her temples she made the long trip across camp and back to her tent, her shoulders were hunched and her eyes seemed focused more on the ground then anywhere else. Finally the desert sun had drifted down into the far off mountains offering some relief from the blistering heat. A wind picked up swirls of sand and tossed it about. The woman quietly sighed and climbed into her tent, fifty men dead, another sixty wounded. She felt as if she had blood on her hands all the time, if she wasn't killing someone she was discussing with families how many had been killed. Laying on the cot she wished for her mate to be by her side but she had left him back in the mortal world it was supposed to be only for a short time, that short time had turned into five years. Five years of loneliness and death. She'd been bred for war but this had been to much, at least in the mortal world she had reports of her people's women constantly giving birth to twins and triplets. There had been rare accounts of young one's dying. Touching her flat stomach she closed her eyes, in a deep part of her soul she would always be jealous of those women capable of having their own young as she lay barren. Pushing away all thoughts she reached out to touch her mate's mind accidentally letting her exhaustion, sadness, and jealousy move across. Realizing what she'd done she gave another heavy sigh, she was tired that went against all her training to allow someone else to feel all of her emotions. <Talon, don't pay attention to what you just felt.> She said quietly looking up at the clothe of her tent. |

Up, down, burn...up, down, burn...Talon grit his teeth. Looking up through his bangs, he watched the big wolf's shadow on the grass, staring him down like a hawk to its prey. "This is a problem for you?" he questioned. The wolf laughed and shook his head, the grass dancing with the darkness. "Three hundred push ups is nothing. You've only done one-fifty." Talon's arms buckled and he slowly sank to his knees. Wiping his brow of sweat he caught sight of cobweb like veins pushing up from his skin. He didn't take the time to notice but five years had done some good physical things to his body. His abs had become more prominent, and his biceps had swollen a bit more. He had also lost some weight and gained it back in more shapely places. His goatee had grown back in and his hair had gotten longer, wilder. "Pathetic." the shadow growled, punching Talon so the teen landed back on all fours. "Halfway there." the monster growled and Talon sighed. "No water first?" he questioned. "None. Get going." he said. Up, down burn..."One fifty one." Up, down, burn... "One fifty two." Up down-- Feeling his mind tingle, he heard and felt T'Jyl's pain, her voice telling him not to worry. <Where are you?> he questioned her with a small hint of sadness. She said she'd be gone for a while, but a while had become years and here he was, training so he could be stronger. Up, down... Down... Down. Talon lay unconscious on the grass. The beast looked at him and sighed, leaving and returning with a pail of water. He splashed some on the teen who didn't move and then left the rest by him. "Idiot." the beast growled and stepped into the boy's body and the forest was quiet. |

Closing her eyes she heard his question, felt his sadness. <In my home land, in a desert. I'm sorry this is taking so long. I haven't slept in awhile so I'm going to bid you good night, my love.> She didn't even have the normal strength to have a conversation with him. All of this took so much out of her. Another couple of days had passed, her soldiers were tired, she was tired and they were making no leeway. Looking around she made a descion. "Lets take a break boys." She yelled out. They all looked at her, their ears perked. "We're going back for a bit of a break." Cheers rose up, and they packed up and began to head to the portal. Their were five other armies out here, and she called two more in. They would switch out, and since the drought had come in there wasn't much going to happen. The High Nobles wre taking all of this pretty hard, but they had those creatures and magic on their side. <I'm coming home, Talon.> She whispered into his mind, touching the newer piercings on her ears, large hoops adorned them instead of the small jewels she'd worn before. Her hair hung in many long braids, part of it bunched up in a bun the rest hanging loose and decorated with beads that her warriors had made for her. Walking to the portal, she touched it and watched the ripples, turning around she saw the bedraggled armies. Was this the right descion? The people they had saved were the first to go through the portals, most were injured and women with children. The High Nobles had been kind enough to kill off most of the men. |

Talon heard her voice faintly; the connection wasn't strong and he was too tired to make it any stronger than it was now. She said she would sleep and he agreed, wishing her sweet dreams. He himself had taken a nap though not by choice. He had exerted too much strength but his control was getting much better. He hadn't raged at all, and his full moons were much better by comparison. Lincoramon stepped inside of him and gave him some strength, enough to waken slowly. groaning groggily, he looked about and realized he was wet. A small, rusty bucket of water was in front of him, the rest spilled hastily on him and the ground. Going to the bucket, he downed the water and some rusted flakes as well, wiping his lips and tossing the bucket as he lay in the sun and dried. Closing his eyes, he rested his sweaty, strained body and tried to relax and calm himself. He'd need food soon, and to catch it, he'd need energy reserves. Sighing, he felt his hair rise with the breezes, and in moments, he was out. T'Jyl...where are you? his mind beckoned, but didn't care for an answer. |

Slowly watching others walk through the portal, she suddenly perked her ears. A snarl coming from her lips as she saw the High Nobles heading for them on their cat-like steeds. Her warriors turned as the others started to rush the refugees in. Hearing Talon again she gritted her teeth, <Fighting.> Was all she replied as she rushed out, ready to sacrifice her life to save the refugees. The High Nobles screamed out, and her warriors howled back some shifting and attacking. A large hand stopped her and she looked up into her eldest brother the last living of her family besides herself. "Whoa, little sister. They can handle this." He said giving her a fanged smile. "G'Kar I want to fight too." He shook his head. "Nah, T'Jyl you are to tired." Putting an arm around her they watched the battle unfold. Finally the last refugees were through and her warriors began to file through, finally she nodded to the last ones and walked through with her seven foot brother by her side. His skin was very dark compared to hers, and his eyes were a vivid sapphire instead of aqua. He had almost hawk-like features, but a friendly smile and a deadly frown. Walking into the mortal world she leaned on G'Kar for strength. <Talon, where are you? Koto, we have refugees.> Her voice was faint as the exhaustion edged onto her consciousness, something didn't feel right. |

Fighting. Seemed they had the same goals in mind. Talon lay quietly on the grass having his fill of water. His body was exhausted, his mind more so. And his heart was empty, he missed her. Even asleep, he answered her with coordinates of where he was about. Koto, however, looked at the book he was reading and heard T'Jyl's voice. It had been for a while now that the house had been quiet without her voice. "What am I supposed to do about it?" he questioned, I'm far from home." he spoke to the woman. |

Closing her eyes she focused on the task at hand when she opened them her brother looked at her and walked through he would make sure everyone was safe. She could feel Talon was asleep and didn't bother him more, but hearing Koto's just made her sigh. <Nothing, it is fine.> Her eyes widened though as she stared into the portal and saw the shadows creeping across the desert, the sick, twisted creatures that the High Nobles had unleashed upon them. A hundred warriors lay on the other side, they began to clamor in. Seeing the shadows come closer she ordered one of her General's on the other side to close it. The creatures couldn't get over to this world. He nodded and she saw her warriors turn grimly away from the portal, knowing that the seventy-five on the other side would never make it out. Turning away she heard the portal seal, and looked into the brother's eyes. He picked her up as she wobbled, and tossed his cloak around her. "Make her a tent, now." He shouted she heard his words, but let herself sink into blackness touching Talon's mind, and Koto's until her brother blocked it. They didn't need to see or know all that had happened. |

Koto took a second then responded: "Should I come over there?" he questioned. He didn't wait for an answer; he had already moved. Within ten minutes, the chocolate wolf stepped into a clearing and shifted to human all the while, the clothing he wore somehow melting from the fur and appearing on his flesh. It seemed everybody had been training a bit. "What hap--oh." he said. Quietly inspecting the small amount of soldiers and then saw Talon's limp body. he hadn't attacked the others, that was obvious. Koto looked at T'Jyl's body, which was being led into a small tent and Koto carried his brother into it as well. "What happened?" he questioned the man who held T'Jyl. |

T'Jyl almost protested but her brother had grabbed her and shut her off from the others. He saw the chocolate covered wolf but since none of the soldiers seemed upset he relaxed and put T'Jyl into the tent laying her down gently. Hearing the question G'Kar looked over the six hundred refugess and several hundred soldiers. "There were many battles, my sister rescued many, and then the twisted basterds decided to attack as we came back here. We shut the portal but seventy-five of our best are now dead." He shook his head, "Such is battle, and the stupid people believe she will never succumb to fatigue." His silver sapphire eyes seemed to truly notice Koto, "Who are you? and I am G'Kar, eldest half-brother to T'Jyl." Motioning to Talon he raised an eyebrow, "Who is he?" Yaja'L walked up and put her hand on G'Kar, "I see you decided to join the living." He smiled, "Prison was boring, as was slavery killing the guards was to easy, and their flesh. I live for that." His blue tongue touched his lips and then he looked back at Koto. |

Koto took a pair of glasses from his teeth and slid them on, counting the sheer number of soldiers. There were more refugees, where would they all go? The forest was only so big, and though far away, humans would notice if strange beings suddenly moved here. "I am Koto Shippo Oyabasu, eldest brother to...this dude right here." he said, jabbing his thumb at Talon who lay unconscious. "He's T'Jyl''s mate and my young brother." he replied. His head turned as Yaja'L spoke and Koto sighed. "Don't you have a house?" he questioned her, gently slapping his brother's face. No movement. "Damn, he's out of it." he said with a sigh. "Anybody got any food? I can hear his stomach growling from here and I assure you it's not him." he spoke, leaving the tent and looking around. "So, what happened exactly? Got attacked and ran here? They'll find a way through, they always do in the end." Koto spoke. |
