Dang you have played way more than I have and seem to have access to more too. Since you have access to JP versions of games you should look into the PS3 version of Vesperia which is WAY better and more complete than the XBOX version. Tales of Destiny on the PS1 had a direct sequel in Japan on the PS2 called Tales of Destiny 2 which was never released overseas. The Tales of Destiny 2 that we got in North America was actually a renamed Tales of Eternia.

It's not too hard to get your hands on the Japanese versions.
The Ds and Psp ones are easy as they work on any Ds/Psp, the Wii ones like Graces you would need a Japanese Wii. However it's not just getting the games, they are very text heavy as you must know which can be a problem if you don't understand it. >_<

We never got Legendia here in the Uk, which is a shame.
Funny thing, I have 20+ consoles but not a Ps3. ^^;
Just never found any games on it I like that the other consoels don't have.

Tales of Vs. Is a great game as it's not a typical Jrpg but a beat'em up in the style of Smash Bros with tales Of.. characters.

I know full well how text heavy those games are, and its the language barrier that bugs me the most. I don't want to have to rely on a script, or my own memory of the English version, to know whats going on.

Legendia is the black sheep of the Tales family but has a pretty cool plot. The character models suck but the actual world and buildings are BEAUTIFUL.

I'm actually kinda miffed about how we only got an incomplete game for Tales of Vesperia. Japan keeps all the best versions to itself... maybe this is payback for WWIII.

Woah, ok just don't go there with that kind of stuff. >_<

Anyway there has been a new interveiw with the team behind the games which might explaine a little more.

They were asked if any Tales of games would hit the Wii U and they said when the console has a bigger user base they will put a game or two on it.

They were then asked if they had any plans to release more tales of games in the west, and here is te kicker. They said no simply because there is not a great demand for them and they can't see them selling that well in the west. >_<

I know, it is not the best news but you never know what might happen in the future.

I know it's not great for the ones who do like it but they are a company out to make money and if they won't get back the cost of translating and releasing it because of a small fan base then it wouldn't make sence to release them in the west.

If you remember this was the same thing for games like Fire Emblem which thanks to Marth and Roy being in Brawl the series finaly became popular and got outside release, even if the west missed out on 1-6, but did get a remake of 1.

Saying that, why don't we have Mother yet? >_<

On another note, I have played a few of the newr games, Hearts, Innocence and Graces.
Your not misssing much at all. I have yet to compleat Graces, reason? I just found it boring.

hehe, yeah thats true but, its kinda like they dont realize that its uhm, actually a step up than most games. See, most games have NO fanbase to essentially act as guaranteed sales. So that plus people who just happen to see advertizing, hear word of mouth, or just pick it up at the store out of curiosity are the "normal" sales. So if you think about it, the risk of not making a profit is a lot lower (especially since the expenses to translate are a lot lower than the actual production too).

That's all true.
I have just come here from reading another interview with the head guy about Tales Of In the west. He says the best selling game in the west was in fact Symphonia on the GameCube.

He then went on to explain that this was thanks to Nintendo doing the market work for them to get the game out.

So what he is basicly saying is that After Symphonia and Ninendo helped in the west they put the newer games on the Ps and Xbox, did not get the same sales and so stopped selling Tales Of games in the west, makes sence? No I did not think so. >_<
I think these guys need to sort out what they are doing.

Anyway, on a good note, the team are working on Smash Bros 4 right now alongside Nintendo and in each of these interviews he keeps mentioning that if the Wii U takes off like the Wii did then they can expect to see Tales Of games on it.

Now not counting Graces, all tales of games on Nintendo platforms have come to the west so there is a good chance of that happening. I mean don't hold your breath or anything but It could!
