Daiohma watched on at the event that had just unfolded before his eyes.
He was not alone as Bear and Zatoichi also looked on in disbelief.

The man declared that his name was Shingen the Dragon Fang along with his subordinate Ryuzaki.
While the three wondered just if they could even land a hit on these two, Cularmati stood at the back with a grin on his face.

The Black Pirate took out his pistol and pointed it right at Shingen's head, pulling the trigger his dead white eyes had a look of joy.
It was as if he knew the shot would never meet it's target, yet he fired it anyway as if it was his way of accepting the challenge Shinden provided to the group.
''Tell me,'' Cularmati called out to him, ''Surly you would never die in such a place as this?''
He started to walk a little closer to the two men but stopped just a few feet ahead of Daiohma, Bear and Zatoichi.

Cularmati pointed at a random crowd of people as he moved his hand as if to point out the whole arena..
''In here.'' He started to talk to the two, ''The weak become the strong!''
His finger finally stopped on Shinden, ''And the Strong...'' His hand became a fist as he pulled his arm back towards himself,
''Become gods!!''

Cularmati pulled out his sword, the sliver Moon stone blade shone in the light of the arena.
He then pointed his sword at the two men, ''Yet, this power..''
Cularmati spun his sword around as he returned it to his side, ''Its it nothing more than a lie.''

The Black Pirate turned his back on the men and started to walk away.

Daiohma was some what shocked, he had seen the pirate fight first hand.
''Fine, looks like It's my turn!'' Daiohma called out as he placed his right arm out in front of himself.

''Crystales!'' He called out again, a huge pillar of ice shot from the ground in front of him.
Daiohma slashed at the ice, thanks to his new found speed in the arena he could slice much faster than before.
Several large icicles were flung into the air as he slashed the ice, he then hit each one at the two men.

''Let's see if you can dodge seven at once!'' He called out,
They were much smaller than the one Bear used before, yet could they dodge seven at once?

Shingen locked eyes with Cularmati and felt his blood beginning to boil. Here at last was an opponent worthy of his skills! Shingen did not look away even as the pirate drew his pistol and fired it.

Cularmati's aim was deadly accurate but both men knew that a single bullet would not decide the outcome of this battle. Shingen tilted his head to one side, allowing the shot to whiz past his head by mere inches.

''Tell me,'' Cularmati called out to him, ''Surly you would never die in such a place as this?''

"The time and place of one's death does not matter." Shingen countered. "All I require is an adversary worthy to take my life."

''In here the weak become the strong!'' Cularmati continued, gesturing towards Shingen. ''And the Strong...become gods!''

Shingen smiled coldly. "Only should others choose to believe them to be." He said with a bark of laughter. Shingen's whole body tingled in anticipation of their inevitable clash.

''Yet, this power...it's nothing more than a lie.'' The pirate spat and then turned to walk away. Shingen narrowed his eyes. Was Cularmati backing down? Or perhaps he didn't think Shingen was worthy to fight him.

"My actions will prove true enough old man." Shingen stated coldly.

~

''Let's see if you can dodge seven at once!'' Daiohma shouted as he sent a wave of icy projectiles flying towards Shingen and Ryuzaki.

"Wevlum!" Shingen shouted in response. The air between the two men was suddenly whipped into a frenzy by the powerful spell. Icicles flew in every direction, spinning and crashing into the crowd around them.

And traveling just behind the wave of icicles was Bear. Using Daiohma's attack to cover his own the Viking charged straight towards Shingen. If he could catch him off guard Bear was confident his superior strength would be enough to crush him in close quarters.

"Two for the price of one!" Bear roared as he rushed in, hooking Shingen's head beneath his arm as he passed and dragging the Yafutoman along with him. Then, reaching Ryuzaki, the Viking unleashed a clothesline/bulldog combination on the duo.

After dropping both men to the ground Bear stood up and regarded their prone forms. "There wasn't much to them." He shrugged before walking back to rejoin the others.

RET-COUNTER!

"Two for the price of one!" Bear roared as he rushed towards Shingen. With a sneer the Yafutoman cast his spear to the ground in the Viking's path. Bear's feet struck it and he stumbled forward, almost losing his balance.

Shingen side-stepped his awkward charge with ease. "Four Winds!" He called out to Ryuzaki who nodded in understanding. Just as Bear finally righted himself he realized what was about to happen. He could only close his eyes and brace himself as the two Yafutomans unleashed identical roundhouse kicks to his head.

Shingen's foot slammed into the back of Bear's head while Ryuzaki's drove into his temple. Bear nearly blacked out from the impact but managed to hold onto his consciousness. But the two martial artists weren't finished with him yet.

The second their feet had struck the Yafutomans spun about in the opposite direction. Ryuzaki leapt into the air, delivering a flying reverse roundhouse kick to the side of Bear's head. At the same time Shingen spun in low with a reverse leg sweep that knocked the Viking's legs out from under him.

Empowered by the strength-altering effect of the arena the impact was enough to spin Bear's body in midair, flipping him onto his stomach before he fell to the ground. The Viking didn't budge from the spot as Shingen and Ryuzaki stepped past him.

"Who is next?" Ryuzaki laughed. "Perhaps you, our fellow countryman?" He asked, pointing towards Zatoichi.

The ninja flinched as he was singled out. His hand reached behind his waist and came back holding something. The martial artists tensed in anticipation of an attack.

"Allow me to demonstrate the skills of a true ninja!" Zatoichi declared, displaying the bomb he was holding. "We ninjas are masters when it comes to....escape!"

Zatoichi tossed the bomb down at his feet and the air around him became obscured by a thick screen of smoke. After a few seconds the smoke cleared enough to reveal that the ninja had vanished.

Shingen smirked in derision of the ninja's cowardice and Ryuzaki laughed out loud. "You then? Will you be our next victim?" He asked, pointing towards Daiohma.

"My actions will prove true enough old man." Cularmati thought to himself the words Shingen spoke.
''They maybe my actions, but not my true power.'' He turned to look into the eyes of the head he was holding, freshly cut away from a body that now lay across the ground below him.
''Then it's decided...'' Cularmati spoke to the head as if talking to a dead person made more sense to him that talking to someone alive.

Cularmati tossed the head into a small crowd of people, knocking one on the head.
The group of men stopped fighting amongst themselves as they all turned to face the pirate.

Cularmati took out both his swords that he had on him in this place, the soulless along with the Neptune Blade.
''Tell me this Shingen...'' He called out even though he was now too far for him or even Daiohma to hear his call,
''You truly wish to die!?'' The pirate rushed at the group of men with a cold murderous look in his eyes.

~

Daiohma could not see away past the two men so that he could help Bear up and Cularmati had gone missing.
He turned to Zatoichi who had just been challenged but the other two from his home land.

As he pulled out a small bomb it seemed like there was a small chance of hope for the two of them.
That was until the ninja tossed the bomb in front of himself, a quick cloud of smoke and Zatoichi had gone.

"You then? Will you be our next victim?" Shingen pointed in Daiohma's direction.
Bear was down for the moment, Cularmati was nowhere to be seen and Zatoichi just did a runner on them.

He was truly feeling the pressure right now as he looked on at the two men.
''Third time might be the charm.'' He whispered to himself as his eyes quickly looked up for a split second at the top of the arena.

He knew this arena enhanced every ones power and speed, so he decided to test out just what he could now achieve in here.
He swung his right arm up into the air, the Moon Stone claws extended from his gauntlet as he then slammed his gauntlet down into the ground below him.
The claws dung into the floor, ''Crystales!'' He called out with a look of concentration on his face.

However nothing looked like it was working, not even a small hint of ice appeared in front of him.
Daiohma was not focusing on the ground at all, in fact his mind was focused on the ceiling of the arena. The area above the two Yafutoma men to be precise.
Above the two high above the arena sure enough a large icicle pillar appeared way up above the two.

As Daiohma pulled his claws away from the ground the icicle cracked and broke away from the ceiling of the arena, gathering great speed as it fell towards to the two men.
The move was indeed impressive, yet Daiohma knew that in here if such a move could be pulled off then it could also be avoided.
Knowing this he took the opportunity the attack opened to dash over and help Bear.

Shingen couldn't hear what Cularmati was saying and didn't have the time to wonder over it. The armored Valuan held his attention right now. "Still relying on your paltry magical skills to save you boy?" He sneered as Daiohma cast his next spell.

Shingen hooked his toes beneath the spear he'd cast down earlier and kicked it up into his waiting hand. With a confident grin he hefted it, preparing to hurl it at Daiohma. "Master! Above you!" Ryuzaki's sudden cry alerted Shingen to the danger that loomed above them.

"Clever!" Shingen barked as he dashed out from beneath the dangling icicle. But he'd only taken a couple of steps before his foot was grappled. "Wha~ Let go you fool! We'll both be crushed!" Shingen yelled, glaring down at Bear who had just revived and now held his foot in a vice-like grip.

"Heh, does that mean I win this fight?" The Viking gasped. Above them the icicle broke free and plummeted down upon them both, crushing them beneath its bulk.

"Master!" Ryuzaki cried out in anguish.

RET-COUNTER!

"Clever!" Shingen barked, raising his hands as if in prayer. He closed his eyes and gathered his strength. Above him the icicle broke free and fell towards him. Shingen's eyes snapped open as he unleashed his power yet again.

"Dragon Spiral!" Shingen howled. The tattoo inked into his flesh began to glow and then seemed to pull free from Shingen's body. The spirit dragon grew in size, taking on a life of its own as it swirled around him, rising towards the heavens.

The falling icicle struck the shockwave generated by the illusory dragon and shattered like glass. Shards of ice rained down all around Shingen but none of them struck him.

"Excellent strategy master!" Ryuzaki commended his sempai. He too had found refuge within the borders of Shingen's attack.

"Indeed. Now, back to the matter at hand." Shingen replied, fixing his gaze upon Daiohma once again.

~

The Yafutoman's counterattack was swift in coming. Taking the initiative they both dashed towards Daiohma, weapons in hand. But only Ryuzaki advanced. Shingen had only taken a few steps before his foot was grappled. "Wha~ Let go you fool!" He growled down at Bear who had also been within the protective field of his attack and now held his foot in a vice-like grip.

"Nothin' doin'." Bear snorted. The Viking rose from the ground, bringing Shingen's foot with him. The Yafutoman could only hop about on one leg until Bear had recovered. Still holding Shingen with one hand he balled up his fist and cocked his arm back, preparing to deliver a skull-shattering punch.

Shingen narrowed his eyes as he leapt up to deliver an enziguri to the side of Bear's already-injured head. The Viking went down again while Shingen rose to his feet.

While all of this was happening Ryuzaki was taking it to Daiohma. The swordsman raced forward and tossed his Suiran Blade towards Daiohma's head. The awkward attack was swatted aside with ease but too late did Daiohma realize it was only a feint.

With his guard down the unarmed Ryuzaki charged in and performed a front flip, catching Daiohma around the neck with his legs. Then, pulling himself up onto the Valuan's shoulders, Ryuzaki flipped him over in a hurricanrana that left him laying flat on his back.

Now both of the Blue Rogues were down. Shingen and Ryuzaki did not follow up their attacks though. Whether this was out of honor or just part of some other strategy wasn't clear. At least not until Bear and Daiohma had struggled to their feet again.

Shingen and Ryuzaki stood on either side with the pair trapped between them. The Yafutomans raised their fists simultaneously and gathered their strength into them.

"Dragon Fang....." Shingen hissed as he began to run towards Bear.

"Sacred Fist....." Ryuzaki growled as he charged towards Daiohma.

The Yafutoman martial artists passed their respective targets by, briefly meeting one another in the center of the group, and then moved on.

"STRIKE!" Both men cried out in unison. Ryuzaki's empowered punch caught Bear full in the face and sent him skidding across the ground. At the same moment Shingen's fist collided with the back of Daiohma's head, sending the Valuan flying through the air.

Shingen and Ryuzaki came to stand next to one another once again. Each man struck an impressive pose with a simultaneous cry of "Yaah!" Clearly they were beginning to enjoy this tournament.

Daiohma placed his hands on the ground before him and pushed to raise his body off the floor.
He managed to sit up on his knees as he looked around, his head still felt like it was spinning from that last attack.

''Wow, that hurt!'' He said to himself in a clam manner dispute the pain that was now running though his head.
The attack had even sent the huge Bear flying too.

Looking over he could see the two men celebrating while shouting what seemed to be 'Yaah' into the air.
Daiohma knew that single based magic attacks would just be avoided time after time, these two like Daiohma and Bear where no easy pushovers.
The simple fact Bear and himself were still not defeated after such an attack proved this, yet the battle was far from over.

Daiohma pulled himself to his feet while trying to see if Bear was still ok.
He was not too worried, after all if he was fine then surly Bear would be. He was a much bigger guy after all.

He then remembered there team was once much bigger than the two of them.
He looked around to see if the pirate or ninja were in sight, but unfortunately they could not be seen.

Daiohma had no idea were the ninja ran off to or why. Did he have a plan, or was he just looking out for number one?
Cularmati on the other hand, he knew he had gone looking for someone to fight.
It was obvious that the pirate did not like the fact that in here his own power was more than what it should be, as if his years of training his body had become a joke in this arena.

The Valuan knew it was time for a new plan of attack, one that would not result in a single attack but a team effort that would hopefully take the two by surprised.
He looked over to where Bear had landed, ''I need to get over there!'' He told himself.

~

Cularmati pushed his foot down on the fallen man's back, the pressure caused his to raise his head which the pirate then took a hold off.
''Your skills are indeed impressive....'' He called out to the fallen man as he tore his head away from his body.
The spine still attached as he shook the head, the blood splattered around from the spine.

The Black Pirate looked around the arena, he had decided to once more face off against Shingen. However he had wondered away and was now looking for the man once again.
''That man,'' he spoke to the head, ''He is an interesting one.''

As Cularmati dropped the head another man came rushing at him from the side.
A fully armored Valuan with a lance, he darted at Cularmati like a raging bull.

The pirate side stepped and grasped the weapon in his hand, ''All power and no skill.'' He called out to the man as his boot met with the valuan's head.
The kick sent the man backwards dropping his lance as he fell.

The armored Valuan man got to his legs fast and reached for his secondary weapon, a short sword.
''Die pirate scum!'' He yelled at Cularmati.

The valuan once again rushed at Cularmati who braced himself for the oncoming attack.
The huge pirate simple let the blade slide past his body as he reached for his own sword, slicing the man's own blade in half.
''Let me see if I understand this right..'' The pirate spoke as his hand became a fist.

His arm swung down as a great speed, slamming into the chest armor of the man.
The sound of metal shattering could be heard as his fist smashed the armor and cracked the man's ribs.
Blood shot from the Valuan's mouth as his eyes rolled backwards.

''It would seem that this will not take long at all.'' Cularmati told himself as he removed his fist from the dead body.
A flash of light in the shape of a dragon caught his attention in the distance, ''Shingen.'' He muttered as he started to walk towards the direction of the attack.

''Death awaits me, yet she calls your name''
As he made his way towards the area the others where in it seemed like no one else wanted to get in his way now.

''How I have waited for her, but this I regret to say....Is not my time.''
In the distance he watched as the two men took care of Bear and Daiohma in a team attack.

Shingen's elation was short-lived. He scowled as he beheld the battered states of Daiohma and Bear. "Ryuzaki, I will leave these two curs to you." He said. Shingen's head turned in the direction that Cularmati had gone. "I'm off to hunt bigger game."

"Of course master." Ryuzaki bowed in respect. "I will offer a prayer for the soul of your adversary."

Shingen snorted and then walked away.

~

Now alone with the two Blue Rogues Ryuzaki was free to best them in whichever way he saw fit. Quickly retrieving his sword he first approached Daiohma. "You seek your friend? Here, I shall assist you!" He crowed as he raised his sword to strike. The Valuan captain's claw came up to block but, once again, the attack was a feint.

Ryuzaki seized Daiohma's arm and executed a shoulder throw. The movement would have dropped him to the ground under ordinary circumstances but with Ryuzaki's enhanced strength it was enough to send Daiohma flying into the air.

Ryuzaki took two running steps and then leapt, driving his foot into Daiohma's stomach in midair. The force of the blow sent him rocketing across the arena.

In the distance Bear was just rising to his feet. Seeing what was happening the Viking squared his shoulders and braced himself. Daiohma came crashing into him but Bear was able to catch him. "Gotcha!" He grunted as the impact slid him backwards several feet.

Before Bear could set his fellow Air Pirate back on his feet Ryuzaki reached beneath his mail shirt and withdrew a strand of Jizu Beads carved from Blue Moon Stone. "Moons! Hear my prayer!" He cried out as he cast his spell. "Wevles!"

A funnel of wind resolved around Bear and Daiohma, twisting both men around and lifting them several feet into the air. Reaching the top of the tornado they were cast out and plummeted to the ground.

Bear landed hard on his back, the air being driven from his lungs. He squinted up through bleary eyes just in time to see Daiohma's armored body crash down atop him. Bear groaned and could not rise.

"Hahahahaaa! You are too weak to even be called my opponents!" Ryuzaki laughed triumphantly. "Is this truly all the strength you can muster?"

~

As Shingen stooped to retrieve his fallen spear a howling warrior clad in animal skins and wielding a huge axe materialized from the crowd to assail him. "Rising Tempest...." The Yafutoman breathed, his body tensing for the attack he was about to launch.

When the axeman was only a few paces away Shingen stood up, twisting his body around and around as he rose. With each rotation he twirled his spear around his body as well.

The approaching warrior was struck by a rapid series of slashes and strikes from both ends of Shingen's weapon, starting at the knees and then rising all the way to his throat. With a final cut that lopped the man's head from his shoulders Shingen came to a stop, his spear twirling one last time over his head.

As the headless body toppled over Shingen spied the man he was searching for behind it. He smiled as a single word passed his lips. "Cularmati."

~

Only a distance of several feet now separated the two peerless warriors. Tension crackled between them and their clash seemed inevitable. But the first blow had already been struck. It had been an attack against the soul and it had been Cularmati who had dealt it.

Now Shingen was prepared to counter.

"You say that men can become gods here? What rubbish! I see only warriors, some who have fallen and some who fight on. Perhaps they fight with strength that is a lie. And yet they continue to shed their blood upon this holy ground. The reason we are here, the strength we have been granted, they are not concerned with such trivial matters."

Shingen began to pace back and forth in front of Cularmati. "Are you truly unsatisfied with this power you have been given? If all of us have been granted the same then has anything changed at all? The strong continue to conquer the weak just as they would on any battlefield."

Now Shingen halted and leveled his spear at Cularmati. "Whether you are a god or a man is of no concern. We are warriors, you and I. I would know which of us is strongest."

With a flourish Shingen brandished his spear and prepared to receive Cularmati's strength.

"You seek your friend? Here, I shall assist you!" Ryuzaki's movement took Daiohma by surprise as before he knew it the man was right in front of him.
Daiohma extended his claws just in time to block the attack but it was nothing more than another trick by Ryuzaki.

He found himself being tossed into the air only to be kicked back down.
The pain was too much, Daiohma could not even think about making a safe landing.

"Gotcha!" A friendly voice called out as Daiohma noticed his landing had been provided by Bear.
This only lasted seconds as they were both quickly hit by a Wevles spell.
The two of them found themselves on the ground once more.

Ryuzaki started to laugh and mock the two of them, which Daiohma did not appreciate one bit.
''Bear...'' Daiohma made sure that only Bear would hear him, ''We need to take him on at the same time, from all sides.''

Daiohma knew they needed to attack with one move right after one another, or even at the same time.
''However...'' He muttered as he made a quick dash towards Ryuzaki.

He started to gain speed as he swung his claws backwards, the Moon Stones glowing bright.
''Crystales!'' He yelled as he swung his claws in the direction of Ryuzaki, a pillar of ice shot from the ground pointing in his direction.
However the attack was not what it had seemed, Daiohma jumped at the pillar of ice using his metal armored feet as skates.

He slid up the pillar and jumped into the air above Ryuzaki. As he twisted over head he pointed his claws down towards the man,
''Sylenis!'' He called out just before he landed behind him.

Not only did he hope that his spell worked on him, he also hoped that Ryuzaki had not noticed that Daiohma and Bear were now in front and behind him.

~

Cularmati stood and listened to what his opponent had to say.
Shingen was indeed worthy in his eyes, but in here Cularmati no longer cared.
It was true his power was more than it once was, and so were the others, yet his did not wish or need the help of this power.

''Indeed I am.'' Cularmati replied when asked if he was unsatisfied with the power.
''I do not need this 'help', it it nothing more than an insult.''

His eyes locked onto Shingen's own, his anger was reaching boiling point.
Here right in front of him was a man that could end his life, yet under these conditions he was not satisfied.

''Im no God,'' Cularmati once more replied to Shingen, ''Yet I am....no man..''
He took a hold of his pistol as his opponent grasped his spear.

''Misery is calling me...'' He spoke out loud as he placed his pistol up against his chest.
As the pirate pulled the trigger he silently muttered to himself, ''Increm''

The shot bust into a glowing flame as it was absorbed into him.
''She will not have to wait much longer.'' He put away his pistol and took a hold of his Soulless blade, swinging it to point at Shingen.

''Show me your power! Your passion! .....Your Soul!'' The Black Pirate called out.
He charged at great speed, shocking for his size.

He swung his soulless blade knowing it would probably miss yet followed up with a kick to Shingen's chest sending him backwards, sliding on his feet.
Cularmati stretched out his arm in his direction, ''Pyri''

There was almost a smile on his face. He knew this fight would never count under this situation that he had found himself in.
Yet he knew that he would enjoy this battle of power.

With Daiohma's weight being lifted off of him Bear was able to struggle back to his feet. Right now he felt like he'd been dragged behind a dhabu across a rocky road. It made him wonder how much worse he'd feel when the effects of this place wore off.

''Bear...'' The Valuan captain wheezed as the two began to regroup. ''We need to take him on at the same time, from all sides.''

"A little divide and conquer eh?" Bear grunted. "Alright, what did you have in mind?"

Instead of giving an answer Daiohma took action. He raced across the arena, creating a ramp of ice using a Crystales spell and then leapt behind Ryuzaki. It wasn't evident whether or not his Sylenis spell was successful.

"Hmm." Bear thought for a moment then leapt into action himself. He mirrored Daiohma's movements, racing across the arena and then up the ice ramp. But instead of leaping over the Yafutoman Bear angled his body so that he would land atop him.

"That's just pathetic." Ryuzaki sighed as Bear plummeted towards him. The Yafutoman executed a spin kick with enough force behind it to send the Viking flying backwards. Bear's body was impaled on the end of the ice ramp, killing him instantly.

REVERSE RET-COUNTER!

"That's just pathetic." Ryuzaki sighed as Bear plummeted towards him. The Yafutoman executed a spin kick to the incoming Viking's chest. As if to punctuate the attack a loud explosion rocked the arena.

KRA-KOOOOM!

Flames leapt from the upper portion of the tower that dominated the center of the arena. The multi-colored lights that zipped along its length suddenly dimmed. The air within the dome became heavy, as if a thick shroud had been cast over it.

"Whaaa!" Ryuzaki cried out as Bear's weight drove him to the ground. The two landed in a heap but quickly separated themselves and withdrew from one another. "What happened?" Ryuzaki gasped. His body suddenly felt heavy and awkward.

Bear shook his head as if to clear it of the strange sensation. "Yeah, what was that explosion?"

"Oh, that would be me." Zatoichi said, materializing next to the Viking and causing him to leap with surprise. "All those pretty lights you saw were my doing."

"You blew up the tower?" Bear asked, astonished. "Why? I thought you turned tail and ran away."

"Hmph, shows how thickheaded you are." Zatoichi sniffed indignantly. "Allow me to explain."

Bear gave his attention to the ninja and even Ryuzaki paused to hear what he had to say. "I figured that tower was responsible for our increased strength. You would have thought that with everyone being empowered by it the odds would have been equal. But they weren't. You see, I may not be a grand master but I know enough about the martial arts to know that only advanced students like these two," He gestured towards Ryuzaki and waved his hand in Shingen's direction. "would be able to use their enhanced skills to their full potential."

Zatoichi pointed his finger straight at Ryuzaki. "I knew that we'd never be able to beat those two under the circumstance. But I have better sense than to keep butting heads with them like a bull in heat." He shot a pointed glance at Bear. "So I took it upon myself to even the odds a little."

Bear stared blankly at Zato. "You.....mean you had that planned out?"

"And we're back to normal now?" Ryuzaki gasped.

"Yes and yes." Zatoichi nodded. "Now then, I believe there was a fight going on when I left? I'd like to pick up where I left off if you don't mind."

~

Shingen didn't have time to offer Cularmati a clever retort. The pirate began his assault, strengthening himself even further before unleashing a one-two combination of sword and boot.

Shingen leapt back to avoid the Soulless Blade but caught Cularmati's kick in the chest. The impact slid him backwards several pacing, opening up enough space for the evil pirate to cast a Pyri spell.

It was at that point that the tower exploded. Shingen leapt backwards again, this time to avoid the magic spell, but found himself falling flat into the dirt. "Eh? What's happened?" He muttered to himself even as the searing heat scalded his back.

Climbing back to his feet Shingen understood immediately that the strength-altering effect had been nullified. He smiled coldly at Cularmati. "You may not be a god but it seems they smile upon you. Upon us both."

Once again Shingen lowered his body into a fighting stance. This time he and Cularmati would fight using only their own strength.

(This begins the final stage of the event. The tower is destroyed and all combatants are back to their usual level of strength. Team-ups are still available but will be relying only on natural ability to pull off.)

The explosion shattered the tower as it rained debri over the arena, the sound echoed around the walls.
Just then the Ninja Zatoichi appeared from the shadows, "Oh, that would be me."

All along he was taking down the tower, believing it was the cause of every ones enhanced powers, and he was right. They all took a second to listen to the ninja explain his actions, almost forgetting for a moment there was a fight going on.

"Now then, I believe there was a fight going on when I left? I'd like to pick up where I left off if you don't mind." Zatoichi said.

Daiohma smiled over at Bear and Zatoichi, the tables had turned in their favor.
Surly Ryuzaki would not be too much trouble now with the three of them against him.
He suddenly remember the Black Pirate who had spared his life and even helped him, he was up against Shingen by himself.
I guess he won't really need help, daiohma thought to himself. Yet he wanted to help take down Ryuzaki and see if he could get over to helping Cularmati too.

First thing first, He thought. Ryuzaki was between them and had to be stopped.
Daiohma ran towards the yafutoma man while her was still looking at the Ninja who had joined in the fight.
''Crystali!'' He yelled as he slammed his knuckles against each other, the ice spell from his claws covered his left normal gauntlet in ice. No sooner as the spell was cast and still at charging speed he delivered an armored ice fist to Ryuzaki's face, sending him towards the large Viking.

Shingen leapt backwards falling flat on his face as Cularmati's pyri went over head, just missing the man.
At this very moment the tower was exploding, several chunks of debri fell towards the Black Pirate. The chunks of metal shot by smashing into the ground just behind him, not once did he move out of the way.
Cularmati just stood there with a new look of passion in his dead white eyes.

"You may not be a god but it seems they smile upon you. Upon us both." Shingen called out as he stood back up.
Cularmati did not answer, he did not need to anymore. They both knew this was what he wanted. It was an odd place, there was no mistaking that, but now the true battle of soul could commence.

Cularmati flung the Soulless blade spinning into the air above as he reached to his back, pulling out the Neptune Blade.
As he flipped it from his left hand to his right he used his empty hand to catch the Soulless blade and return it to his belt.

The blue Moon Stone of the Neptune blade shone as he grasped it in both hands, his eyes now focused on Shingen.
A grin appeared on his face for a second before disappearing as he made a sudden dash for the man.

Moments before contact he swung his sword down, cutting into the ground tearing up dirt as it came up slamming into Shingen's side.
Cularmati used the side of the blade as to send him flying, he wanted the battle to last while Increm was still in effect.

As if to prove himself not the coward the others surely believed him to be Zatoichi engaged Ryuzaki himself. The two Yafutomans exchanged a rapid-fire succession of brutal kicks at one another.

Zatoichi began the assault with an leaping cartwheel kick aimed at his opponent's head. At the same time Ryuzaki executed a kick of his own, this one a spinning leg sweep that carried him beneath Zato's attack. Nor was Ryu's successful. The monk rose on one leg while the ninja landed in a crouch.

Ryuzaki allowed his momentum to spin him about again as he rose. His leg came up and over as he aimed an axe kick at Zatoichi's temple. But the ninja was able to counter, catching Ryuzaki's ankle in a cross-arm block. He then threw himself upward, carrying his opponent's leg with him, hoping to throw Ryuzaki off balance and topple him.

Instead Ryuzaki kicked off of the ground and launched into a crescent moon kick aimed at Zato's chin. Zatoichi dodged the blow by throwing himself backwards to the ground and then kipping back up again.

Without a solid strike between them the two martial artists withdrew to regroup. "You're not bad." Ryuzaki smirked at the ninja in appreciation for his skill.

"I'm also not alone." Zatoichi chortled, jerking his thumb at the oncoming Daiohma.

"Wha~" Ryuzaki gasped as the Valuan's frozen fist sent him reeling. "That's...not fair!"

Ryuzaki stumbled into Bear's waiting arms which slammed shut around his midsection like the jaws of a trap. Now caught in the (aptly named) bear hug there was nowhere for him to go. The Yafutoman felt his spine cracking as the mighty Glacian squeezed the life out of him.

"Release me....fight me....one-on-one...." Ryuzaki gasped as he began to black out. Instead Bear spun him around and slammed him hard to the ground.

"All's fair in love and war." Zatoichi shrugged. "Speaking of which, does that big pirate need any help with tattoo-man over there?"

Shingen was fairing a little better than his cohort at least. Cularmati had the upper hand right now with Increm in effect. His sword stung as the flat of its blade struck Shingen in the side. The impact caused him to stumble to the side but on reflex the fighting master's elbow clamped down over the weapon, locking it in place and using Cularmati's weight to steady himself.

"An Increm spell? And you were just complaining about having your strength boosted." Shingen grunted as his free hand swept around, hooking underneath Cularmati's arm and tossing him to the ground.

Instead of following up on the attack Shingen performed a triple backflip to open up a little distance between himself and the pirate. "My, how hypocritical of you." He snarled, retrieving his spear.

Shingen pointed his spear at Cularmati and its tip began to glow with an eerie orange light. Then, using it like a pen, he inscribed a glowing kanji in the air between them. When it was completely drawn Shingen stabbed his spear into it, as if punctuating it.

"Spirit Ward!" Shingen barked as the magic (Super Move) took effect. Any beneficial status effects such as Increm or Quika that were being used by any of his opponents were nullified.

"Now then, fight me fairly or don't fight me at all." Shingen cried as he raced towards Cularmati who was now rising from the ground. Using the pirate's own knee as a step he jumped up and drove his knee into the side of Cularmati's head.

Rolling to his feet Shingen regarded the pirate. "Shall we continue? Or has your strength failed you?"s head. Ryuzaki countered with a kick of his own, this one a spinning leg sweep aimed to knock Zato
