The arena you now find yourself trapped within is fascinating to say the least. Behind you is a featureless wall constructed from a strange silver metal. Streaks of colored light arch across its face every few seconds, adding to the surreal imagery you behold. The wall surrounds the arena on all sides and rises to a height of fifty feet with a dome of transparent crystal atop it. Through its flawless panels you can clearly see the Silver Moon hanging in the night sky overhead. The area enclosed within the wall is bereft of any features save for a towering pillar that reaches up to the top of the dome from the very center of the room. This is constructed from the same silver alloy as the wall. The same multi-colored lights that appear upon the walls also travel about the pillar. The ground beneath your feet consists of large silver panels. There are several glowing disks set into the panels at regular intervals around the room. In fact you are standing atop one of them at this very moment. ~ You are not alone in this arena however. Its vast expanse is filled from wall to wall with many other people. Judging from their appearance there are representatives of every race on Arcadia represented here. For some reason all of them seem to be fighters of one sort or another. All are armed and all appear to be just as confused as you are regarding your sudden arrival here. It would seem as if each and every one of them had been snatched away from their day-to-day lives and deposited in this place just as you were. The purpose behind this mass abduction remains unknown. But you get the feeling that someone is watching the assembly from a hidden location. That’s not the only thing you’re feeling right now. Since the moment you got here you’ve felt as if your body was about to explode with pent-up energy. Your muscles surge with unnatural strength and your senses are incredibly sharp right now. You feel as if you could take on an entire army single-handedly and win without breaking a sweat. Despite feeling incredibly spry you are also feeling more aggressive than usual. The air around you is charged with hostility and it seems like a massive brawl is going to break out at the slightest provocation. And you can’t wait for that to happen so you can beat the daylights out of everyone else. Your sentiments are reflected by all of the other fighters as well. Right now swords are being rattled in their sheathes and you can hear many threats and wild boasts being spoken. ~ This is the opening post to set up the event. It will not be counted among the fifteen posts that comprise it. I will post again detailing the arrival of my characters and begin the action. |

Bear glanced around the arena in confusion. “What the…” He began in a befuddled voice. There were many other people here but they all seemed as confused as he was. Their differing nationalities also made it hard for the Viking to pinpoint exactly what country he was in. Judging from the appearance of the walls that surrounded him Bear reckoned it to be….well, he didn’t know. His surroundings invoked memories of stories told on Crescent Isle regarding the lost continent of Soltis. But there was no way that he was in such a place. Was there? “Ah, I spy a familiar face in the crowd.” Came a voice from behind Bear. “And a shaggy face at that.” Bear turned to see an equally familiar face covered in a black mask. “You! You’re that…” He began but was cut off by the newcomer. “Ninja who made a fool of you back on Crescent Isle?” Zatoichi chortled. “Twerp who I clobbered a while back.” Bear finished. “That’s what I was going to say.” Zatoichi merely shrugged. He wasn’t interested in splitting hairs with the Viking. “So here we are, reunited after all this time.” He said in a wistful voice. “But I must admit that I am puzzled by our circumstances.” “Yeah, me too. Any idea how we got here?” Bear asked, relaxing his guard a little. Zato gestured towards the glowing metallic disk underfoot. “A form of matter teleportation I would surmise.” “Teleported? But by whom? And for what reason?” Bear persisted with the questions everyone was surely asking themselves right now. “Time will tell.” Zatoichi answered. He didn’t know any more than anyone else here did. ~ Several minutes passed. Bear and Zatoichi stuck together, bound together not by friendship but by simple recognition of each other. They spoke little during that time, each lost in their own thoughts. The ninja stared at his hands and wiggled his fingers a bit. “Hey, have you noticed?” He asked, breaking the silence. “Yeah. Something is happening to us.” Bear answered. He flexed his arms and watched as his bulging muscles stretched the fabric of his tunic. Zatoichi’s eye scanned the crowd. “Not just to us. Seems like everyone is being affected.” “Yeah. This is going to turn ugly.” Bear observed dryly. “I think that’s the point.” Zato answered. “What I’d like to know is who’s trying to make that point.” “Time will tell.” Bear mocked the ninja’s previous response. ~ Suddenly the air was split by a piercing tone blared across the expanse of the arena. As one the crowd started with surprise. Their mutual shock seemed to be the catalyst to whatever was supposed to transpire here. Somewhere amongst the mass of humanity someone finally snapped and struck the first blow. That single strike started the violence, which spread throughout the assembly like a wildfire. Soon everyone was engulfed in the fierce melee. ~ “Alright, let’s get to work.” Bear rumbled deep in his chest as he flexed his arms and worked his neck back and forth to loosen up. “I’ll be right behind you.” Zatoichi assured the Viking. His body lowered into a fighting stance as he prepared to join the fray. “Fine. But let’s not have a repeat of last time okay.” Bear warned the ninja. “I wouldn’t dream of it.” Zatoichi responded. Somehow he didn’t sound very sincere. “Okay then. Here we go!” Bear roared as he thundered forward, entering the battle in a big way. Zatoichi sprinted behind him, the smirk on his face hidden beneath his mask. ~ “Yaaaaah!” A Yafutoman wearing the armor of a samurai screamed his warcry as Bear bore down on him. His hand hovered over his sword. As the Viking drew close he drew it and sliced in one smooth motion, intending to cut open Bear’s stomach. But Bear quickly juked to the left, narrowly avoiding being skewered. At the same time his arm came up, crashing into the samurai’s neck. The impact lifted him off his feet, spun his body around in a circle and then sent him crashing to the ground. As Bear raged passed Zatoichi leapt into the air and drove his foot into the fallen samurai’s stomach. The man sat up, groaning in pain. As he did Zato finished him off with a swift kick to the face. The samurai hadn’t even hit the ground before Zatoichi had moved on and caught up to he Viking. Zatoichi sprinted past Bear to engage another opponent, this one a Nasrean wielding a scimitar. He ducked in low as the sword came around at waist height, swishing over his head. While the swordsman was off balance Zato leapt upward and executed a crescent moon kick. He flipped backwards and his trailing leg caught the swordsman beneath the chin. The blow should have been enough to knock him over backwards. But with unnatural strength behind it the kick sent the swordsman rocketing into the air. His body flipped head over heels in the process, perfectly aligning his head with the ground for a skull-shattering finale. Instead Bear rushed in and landed a superpowered punch to the swordsman’s stomach. The force of the blow bent the hapless Nasrean’s body double as Bear’s fist drove through. “VIKING PAAAUUUNCH!” Bear roared as the swordsman was sent flying across the arena. His body traveled over the heads of the other combatants until it finally crashed down somewhere in their midst. Zatoichi shielded his eyes with a raised hand as he admired the distance the Nasrean had flown. “You know, I think we make a pretty good team you and I.” He admitted to the Viking. “So do I. We should stick together until this is over.” Bear agreed. Zatoichi nodded his head politely. “Yes, until this is over.” |

Daiohma looked around, he had never seen such a place. ''How did I end up here?'' He rubbed the back of his head trying to remember what just happened. He looked at the other people in this large arena, they too had a look of confusion on their faces. ''Just what is going on here?'' He wondered out loud to himself as he took in the fact that everyone was from a different part of Arcadia. He thought back to his research days in the Armada, ''Could it be, am I in Soltis?'' Daiohma shook his head, ''No, that would not be logical...would it?'' Tension was indeed in the air, that was clear but as to why was another question. It was almost as if these people were summoned here for a reason, yet what reason. Daiohma then walked a little towards the edge of the arena to see just what this thing was built from, yet as he walked he noticed something odd. ''My armor?'' He said to himself, it felt like it had become lighter than before. He could move mush faster than he used too. It did not take him long to figure out that something in this area was creating some kind force that made him faster and stronger. Looking around the arean he soon realized that it was not just him. It became clear he would more than likely end up having to battle his way out. ~ The small group of people soon backed away leaving Cularmati on his own. Standing tall with his arms crossed he raised his head to take in the view. ''Misery, this is not.'' He called out, his dead eyes looking at the people around him as if they were looking into their very souls. The large pirate turned his head to the left then again to the right, there was no way out of this place. This caused him to smile for a second, not that anyone would see it behind his beard. He could tell tat something was making every ones abilities much greater than before. This was interesting for him, ''Maybe I will find the one.'' He talked to himself. His smile was soon gone as he realized that he himself was also being effected by this odd power. ''You think I need this!?'' He looked up to the sky. ~ Daiohma slowly made his past a few people, trying not to set anyone off. As the time went by more and more people seemed to become more aggressive and on edge. Suddenly there was shout across the arena, someone had finally snapped which set of a chain reaction across the whole arena. Daiohma stood feet apart ready to defend himself. He swung his right arm down which caused the Purple moonstone blades inside his Glacian armor to extend from the gauntlet. A scream came from behind him as a man from Ixa' taka came running at him with a long spear. Daiohma reacted fast by turning just in time for the spear to slide behind his back, scraping his armor but not doing any damage. As he sung around he raised his right leg and slammed it into the man's spear shattering it half. The man from Ixa 'taka stood for a moment shocked, it was as if he could not believe his spear had been shattered. Daiohma took this opportunity to swing his right arm with the blades at the man's head, ready to cut his throat. What happened surprised Daiohma, the blades sliced the man's head clean off his neck and sent it across the arena. He knew something was making everyone faster and stronger but he did not expect it to be by so much. ~ As the shouts started across the arena people broke out in fights. Cularmati did not move from his position, only looked on as a group of men approached him. ''I was minding my own business,'' He started to talk in his dead monotone voice as the first man who looked to be from some place in mid-ocean ran at him. ''When I realized I was not in a place of my own choice,'' He continued as the man jumped at Cularmati waving his sword. Cularmati swung his hand out at great speed and grabbed the man by the neck, eyes locked onto one another. ''Then I find myself attacked by incompetent fools.'' He lifted the man into the air, the grip on his neck caused him to drop his sword as he kicked his legs around gasping for air. ''Tell me, do you wish to die in such a place?'' and with that Cularmati crushed the man's neck, his head fell to the ground along with his body. The other men ran at the large Black Pirate, each with there swords waving in the air. It was clear they were nothing more than simple 'swords for hire'. Cularmati reached over to his left and took ahold of a handle on his belt. As he pulled out his sword the silver blade caught the light from the walls of the arean. He almost reached for the blade on his back but decided that these men were not worth the trouble of two swords. ~ Daiohma looked around, he quickly moved away from the body of the fallen Ixa 'taka man who had come for him but soon found himself face to face with a Valuan. He knew the man was from Valua as he wore Armada armor, old but still in good shape. The Valuan Armada emblem was replaced by the man's own symbol. He swung at Daiohma with a long sword, not the most accurate but heavy and damaging. Thanks to his new increased speed Daiohma found it easy to move around the Valuan and get a few swings at his armor each time he had to lift up his long sword. The Valuan man took another swing at Daiohma, again missing his target thanks to the weight of his sword. ''Everyone has had their power increased, how come you can't lift that thing?'' Daiohma asked, knowing now this man was not much of a challenge to him. ''It is the first time I have ever lifted it.'' He replied looking proud of himself. ''And the last.'' Daiohma then replied back as he punched the man in the face with his gauntlet, the claws retracted just in time to keep his head from coming away from his body. Daiohma then looked up, he had already taken care of two people, but there was a countless number all fighting around the arena. Just then someone bumped into his back, he turned around to see that a group of men had slowly moved their fight towards where he was standing. He quickly extended his claws as he kicked them man out of his way. Just as he was about to go on the attack he realized that the group were not fighting but defending themselves from a fast moving silver blade. Daiohma could not see who was the owner of the blade as it moved fast around the group taking heads along it's way. One by one the people fell to the ground till he was the only one standing. He could now see the blades master, a huge man who by no mistake was a Black Pirate. The blade came at him, the speed took him by surprise as he dodge out of it's path. Daiohma Swung his gauntlet at an angle and managed to stop the swords movement by wedging it between the two claws. ''Impressive.'' The Pirate complimented Daiohma. The Large Black Pirate then reached for the pistol on his belt. Daiohma knew if he moved his gauntlet now to stop him he would also release the sword. Before Daiohma could think of a way out of this terrible situation the Pirate pointed the pistol at his head and pulled the trigger. The shot blasted right by Daiohma's ear, just missing. The pirate loosened his grip on his blade, which in return Daiohma retracted his gauntlet's claws. As he slowly turned around he saw a man face down on the ground behind him, a huge hole was in the back of his head which went all the way to the front. Daiohma was confused as to why he was saved. The Black Pirate took out his second sword from his back and started to walk towards another large group of people fighting, ''Tell me,'' He called out to Daiohma as he walked away, ''Do you wish to die in such a place?'' Daiohma thought to himself for a moment, a Black Pirate can never be trusted, yet he did not kill him when he had the chance. He ran after him, ''If we both get out of this alive, I will not let you walk away free.'' Cularmati did not even turn to face him but instead just smiled. |

Bear and Zato didn’t have long to pat each other on the back. The Vikings heightened senses warned him of impending danger a split-second before an arrow came whizzing out of the crowd. Bear sidestepped the missile as it slid past him, missing by mere inches. The arrow continued on, arching straight at Zatoichi who was trailing behind Bear. The ninja’s hand shot out, plucking the arrow from midair an instant before it pierced his skull. Then both he and Bear set their eyes on the person who had fired it. Standing a short distance away was a painted savage from Ixa’taka. The bow he carried was a clear sign of his guilt. And as they looked up he was nocking a second arrow upon its string. “I believe this belongs to you!” Zato called out as he tossed the arrow he was holding back towards the archer. It flew from his hand like a miniature spear, intent upon its target. Before the arrow struck the archer leapt high into the air, easily avoiding it. As he hung suspended in midair he fired his arrow. It hadn’t even reached its mark before the archer began quick-drawing and firing more arrows. Soon there were over a dozen of the lethal projectiles falling towards Bear and Zato. In a blur of motion Zatoichi drew his nunchucku and wove them around his head and shoulders in a dizzying pattern. The whirling weapon struck down the incoming arrows before they could strike the ninja. Bear wasn’t quite so adept though. With only seconds to spare his mind desperately sought a way out of this deadly deluge of arrows. Almost instantly he was struck by sudden inspiration as a most unorthodox answer presented itself. Bear fell to one knee and drove his fist into the ground. “CRYSTALI!” He cried as the Purple Moonstone he carried flared to life. In response a thick shell of ice formed around the Viking, deflecting the arrows as the rained down upon him. “Wow, nice hang-time he got on that one. Color me impressed.” Zatoichi remarked dryly as Bear broke out of his frozen cocoon. Bear dusted snow off of his shoulder and scowled at the archer as he landed nimbly and reached for another arrow. “I’m not. He looks like a one-trick pony to me.” “Then shall we set him up for a fall?” Zato smirked. “Yeah, you set him up and I’ll bring him down.” Bear answered. Zatoichi agreed and a second later a trio of kunai, ninja throwing blades, were sent racing through the air towards the archer. Once again he avoided the attack by leaping high into the air. But this time Bear and Zato were ready for him. The ninja swung his nunchucku in an overhanded strike aimed at Bear’s head. The Viking’s had came up at the last second, catching the weapon. He mirrored Zato’s movements and swung the opposite end of the nunchucku overhanded with all of his might. Zatoichi held onto his end of the nunchucku with both hands as he was thrown over Bear’s shoulder and catapulted into the air. Zatoichi flew feet-first towards the archer who was even now correcting his aim to target the ninja. “SPIRAL TORPEDO!” Zato cried, giving his legs a twist. In response his whole body began to corkscrew through the air. Before the archer could get off a clean shot Zato’s feet drove into his belly. The whirling motion of his body caused the archer to spin off madly into the air as he fell. “Alright!” Bear cried in exultation as he pumped his arm up and down. There was nothing like a good brawl to get his blood pumping and he was starting to enjoy himself. And to make the situation even better he just now happened to spot another familiar face in the crowd. “YO DAIOHMA!” Bear called out upon sighting the Blue Rogue from Valua. He waved his arms over his head to attract the captain’s attention. “Over here brother!” He smiled broadly as he trotted over to greet his comrade. “Who’s your friend?” Zatoichi asked as he crept up behind the Viking. “Should I be jealous?” |

Both Daiohma and Cularmati had no time for introductions, only their names passed there lips as the battles broke out all around them. For some reason Daiohma now felt that he owed it to this Black Pirate for saving him while he had the chance to end his life, however he would only work with him while in this place. Cularmati on the other hand seemed to bee looking for someone, but not someone in particular. The reason he spared Daiohma was still confusing. The large Black Pirate had made his way towards a Yafutoma man who used a strange weapon, a long spear with a twisting blade on the end. He dashed at Cularmati, swiping the air with his long ranged weapon. He stopped in front of the pirate and thrust the weapon forwards. Cularmati side stepped to the left as the weapon passed by, then the man thrust his weapon once more but this time to the left which in turn Cularmati just simply moved to his right. ''pathetic.'' The pirate called out as on the third trust of the weapon he reached out with both ands and took a hold of the long spear. ''Daiohma! One for you!'' He called out as he spun the man around and tossed him into the air towards Daiohma. Looking up he saw the man falling towards him, wondering for a second if cularmati just tossed this man at him as he was not worth the time? The yautoma man managed to right himself as he fell and pointed his weapon at Daiohma. Quickly thinking Daiohma rolled to one side as the spear impacted the ground. Daiohma extended his claws and dashed at the man, taking a swing at his head. The claws tore into his skull as his head went flying, ''I got to stop doing that!'' Daiohma told himself as he remembered that in here everyone was much stronger than before. Before Daiohma could even turn around he felt a strike against his back which almost caused him to fall over. Turning around he came face to face with a large man from Nasr welding a huge hammer. ''Your mine!'' He shouted out as he grasped his hammer and held it above his head. Daiohma noted as the man raised his hammer that he opened up a weak spot, a part of him that was not covered in the light armor that he was wearing. He did a backwards flip and as his hands touched the floor he raised his foot and kicked the man in the jaw. This caused the man to drop his hammer behind himself, only just missing his own head. ''Once more!!'' Daiohma called out as he went for another backwards flip, but as he did he saw that cularmati was standing by just watching. Seeing this Daiohma adjusted his angle and proceeded to kick the man in the jaw once more. Just as planned, this time as he was not weighed down but his huge hammer the man took off into the air. Thanks to the adjusted angle the man started to fall down towards Cularmati to stood still and watched as the man fell closer. ''You die next then!'' The man shouted as he fell towards the Black Pirate, pulling out two daggers from his back. Cularmati took two steps backwards and pulled out his pistol, pointing it at the man. There was a sound of shattering bone as Daiohma watched on. The man had fallen jaw first into Cularmati's pistol, the weapon stuck half way into the man's jaw. ''Your bravery will be remembered.'' The pirate told the man as he pulled the trigger. The shot burst out of the Nasr man's head as his body fell to the ground. Daiohma smiled at Cularmati, ''We do make a good team, for being pirates of different ends.'' The pirate turned his back on Daiohma and once more took out his soulless blade, ''we are not yet done here.'' He looked over his shoulder back at Daiohma, ''Pirate.'' “YO DAIOHMA!'' Came a familiar voice, Daiohma turned to see a large man running at him with his arms waving in the air, “Over here brother!” ''Bear!?'' Daiohma shouted back, surprised that he would see a friendly face within all this chaos. ''Great to see you!'' He offered out his hand to the Viking. ''and this is?'' He asked looking at the Ninja. Cularmati stood only a few feet behind Daiohma watching the two new comers to the group. |

Bear returned Daiohma's handshake and introduced Zatoichi. The ninja inclined his head politely but remained silent, letting his companion do the talking. Bear eyed the evil pirate captain who loomed like a dark cloud nearby and frowned. A frown was all he had time for though, as the fighting soon engulfed the group once again. "I'll catch up to you in a bit." Bear called out to Daiohma as he and Zato were pulled away from him. The divide between the two pairs had now become the staging ground for a fierce duel between a Valuan nobleman wielding a rapier and a garishly clad pirate armed with a cutlass. "My my, they're certainly going at it aren't they?" Zatoichi chortled as he stood idly by, enjoying the spectacle. Bear's frown deepened. "Yeah but they're in our way." He growled. "How dare they." Zatoichi returned. Then, strolling casually up behind the pirate, he tapped the fellow on the shoulder. "Excuse us, don't mean to intrude on your deathmatch here. But we would like to pass if it's not an issue." "What the...it is! Now get lost!" The pirate yelled over his shoulder without taking his eyes off of the flashing blade being wielded by the nobleman. "Wrong answer." Zatoichi sighed. He crouched down behind the pirate, cocked back his arm and then slammed his fist into the man's crotch. The pirate dropped his sword immediately and grabbed his junk, groaning in agonizing pain and then finally toppling to the ground where he lay in a fetal position. Perhaps the nobleman was just to noble to land a fatal blow after the wrongdoing his worthy adversary had just suffered. Or maybe he was just too shocked to respond. Whatever the case was he was still standing in open-mouthed surprise when Zatoichi popped up in front of him, almost standing nose-to-nose with him. "Excuse me, didn't mean to intrude on your.....nah, forget it." Zato began then thought better of using the same joke twice. Instead he wrapped the chain of his nunchucku around the nobleman's neck and then raised his knee into his gut. He too doubled over, groaning in pain. "Hey Bear! That other guy wasn't much of a singer!" Zatoichi called out to his partner. "Do you think this one can do any better?" "Toss him over and let's find out!" Bear answered with a malicious grin. "I'll be he can hit the high notes!" Using the nunchucku's chain like a leash Zato whirled the nobleman around by his neck and then released him. He ran, hunched over and flailing his arms, straight at Bear. The burly Glacian stood his ground, stopping the nobleman in his tracks as they collided. Bear reached down and wrapped his arms around the man's waist. With a grunt he lifted him off of the ground and tossed him onto his shoulder. The nobleman now hung upside down with his feet dangling over Bear's shoulder and his head pointed at the ground. He could do naught but look at Zatoichi as the ninja knelt down and braced his legs. Kicking off of the ground Zato raced towards them both and leapt into the air as he drew close. "AAAIIIIIYYYYYYEEEE!" Zato screamed as his leg angled downward on a collision course with the nobleman's groin. "NOOOOOOOOO!" The nobleman screamed in anticipation of the horrible pain he was about to feel. "AAAIIIIIYYYYYYAAAAAHHHH!" Zato cried out his battlecry as his foot struck the nobleman square in the nuts. "GAAAAAHHHH!!" The nobleman's voice rose a full octave upon impact. His eyes rolled up into the back of his head and a series of spasms rocked his body. He wouldn't be doing the nasty with any noblewomen any time soon. As Zatoichi kicked off, performing a backflip and then landing gracefully nearby, Bear finished the move and sent the nobleman into blissful unconsciousness. Using the force of Zato's kick he simply let himself fall backwards, driving the nobleman's head into the dirt. Rising from the ground and dusting himself off Bear took stock of what was going on around them. The melee was in full swing and if he wasn't careful someone could pick him off from behind just as he and Zato had just done to those poor, ball-busted swordsmen. "I think maybe we should regroup." Bear suggested. "Join up with Daiohma and get an extra set of eyes watching our backs." Zatoichi gave him a nasty look. "You don't trust me to do the job?" "Not a bit." Bear muttered. "Anyway, let's keep moving. I don't want anyone blind-siding me in all this confusion." Zato refused to move. "You ARE talking about me aren't you?" He asked in a hurt tone. "What? No!" Bear sputtered. "You're just taking what I said the wrong way." "You were looking at me when you said it." Zatoichi countered. "Because I was talking to you!" Bear argued. "And you had a tone in your voice." Zatoichi persisted. "Tone? What tone?" Bear threw his hands up in aggravation. "There was no tone. I'm just messin' with ya." Zatoichi snickered as he trotted past the Viking, slapping him on the shoulder as he went. "C'mon, lets go and find your buddy." Bear stomped angrily behind him. "I really hate that guy..." He muttered to himself. |

"I'll catch up to you in a bit.'' Bear shouted over to Daiohma as he and the Ninja Zatoichi got pulled away into another fight. Daiohma turned to face Cularmati who was watching the two as if he was seeing what their fighting styles were like. Just then a scream cut the air as a body came flying past the two, sliding against the ground in a bloody mess. Both Daiohma and Cularmati turned their heads towards the direction of were the body had been tossed from. Standing just a short distance away from the two was a man covered in armor from head to toe. A huge battle axe in his right hand and a custom rifle in his other. Cularmati lifted his left arm while holding onto his sword and rested it over his shoulder as if to tell the man he was not worried at all. Daiohma on the other hand braced himself for the oncoming battle. The armored man gave his axe a quick shake which flung blood across the ground around him. He then checked his rifle before turning it on Cularmati. ''Lets do this!'' Daiohma called out to the pirate as he made a dash for the man. His gauntlet's claws extended as he got closer. ''His fate has already been sealed'' Cularmati replied as he reached for his own pistol. The armored man let out a laugh as he watched Daiohma get closer, he moved his rifles aim from Cularmati and pointed it at Daiohma. Daiohma did not stop running as he knew he and Cularmati had for some reason trusted each other in this place. Just then the sound of a trigger moving backwards followed by the sound of gun fire could be heard. The armored man's eyes widened as he noticed it was not him that had pulled his trigger. As Daiohma ran closer to the man a bullet from behind him clipped past his head right towards his own target. ''Got you.'' Cularmati's voice could only just be heard. The bullet met it's target, the barrel of the armored man's own rifle. There was a small explosion as the rifle exploded in his hands followed quickly by a upwards punch into the man's stomach by Daiohma. The man was forced backwards, sliding on his feet by the force of the paunch. He looked up enraged at Cularmati who was just putting his pistol away, almost forgetting that Daiohma was right in front of his. Daiohma let out a few swipes of his claws but this was only damaging the man's heavy armor. The armored man took a hold of his axe and started to swing like a mad axe man at Daiohma. The swings were fast but could not keep up with Daiohma's speed. Daiohma stopped in front of the man and crouched down, the axe soon followed him. ''Time to end this!'' He called out as he jumped just as the axe came crashing down. It became stuck in the ground as Daiohma landed standing on top of the blade. He quickly let out a backwards flip followed by his foot in the man's face which caused him to let go of his axe. As his head was being kicked upwards he could hear the sound of thunder, but as his head came back down he could see that the noise was in fact the sound of the large Black Pirate rushing for him. Cularmati turned his body on it's side as he took his left arm and slammed the side of his body into the armored man. This sent him flying a good distance from the two. Daiohma swung his arm upwards as the two moonstone claws in his gauntlet shone a bright purple. ''Crystales!'' He called out as a small pillar of ice shot from the ground in front of him. Cularmati took out his soulless blade and made a quick slice at the ice pillar, cutting away the top point. Daiohma followed this up with a upwards slash of his claws causing the ice shard to be flung into the air high above the two. Cularmati then once more took out his pistol and aimed it at the ice shard, and when it reached it top height he pulled the trigger. ''Pyri'' His dead voice called out as the shot was fired. The glowing red bullet made contact with the ice shard, sending it into a spinning frenzy towards the armored man. The shard of ice became a burning buzz saw as it soared towards him. Without warning or time to react the spinning blade of ice passed through the man's body. He stood for a moment as his whole body split in two vertically down the middle. Cularmati spun his pistol around as he put it back into his belt. |

aka Bear

Bear and Zato stood back-to-back amid the sea of violence. Finding Daiohma in this chaos would be all but impossible, not to mention dangerous. "I don't even remember which direction we came from." Bear sighed. "It would be easier to keep track of such things if we weren't in such an infuriatingly boring locale." Zatoichi answered irritably. "The walls all look the same and there aren't any landmarks to judge our position by." A Yafutoman wielding a spear chose that moment to rush the duo. He came charging out of the crowd with the tip of his weapon leveled at Bear's chest. The Viking drew his axe and lopped the spear's head off in one swift motion. At the same time Zatoichi leapt up and landed atop the now-blunted end. His weight drove the spear's shaft into the ground. The spearman's momentum carried him forward but his weapon had become lodged in the ground. Thus his body was levered off the ground like a pole-vaulters and he went soaring into the crowd. "Maybe we'll get lucky and spot in in the crowd." Bear continued where he'd left off as if nothing had happened. Zatoichi raised his hand and pointed. "Oh, he's over there." The ninja informed Bear in a matter-of-fact voice. "What makes you think that?" Bear asked, perturbed by Zato's casual tone. "Well that big spinning icicle on fire looks like something he'd do." Zatoichi shrugged. Bear looked up just in time to see the aforementioned flaming icicle crash down in the crowd. After that he had to agree with the ninja. It did indeed look like something the Valuan pirate would have done. Bear frowned as he beheld the mass of warring humanity that stood between them and Daiohma. "Damnation. We could use a giant icicle of our own about now. The herd needs to be thinned out if we're going to try and break through it." "Hmm? You can cast the Crystali spell right?" Zato asked. It seemed as if he had something in mind. "Yeah, why?" Bear asked curiously. "Can you hit a moving target with it?" Zatoichi continued as he fished a small object out of one of his many hidden pockets. "I probably can today. What do you have in mind?" Bear asked. He reached into his own pocket and produced his Purple Moonstone. "Use your Crystali spell on this and then duck!" Zato briefly explained, showing Bear what he was holding. It was a small, black capsule; one of the ninja's explosive Burst Pellets. "I follow you." Bear agreed. And then Zatoichi tossed the Burst Pellet into the air above the crowd. With his heightened reflexes the Viking had no trouble zeroing in on the small capsule even in midair. "Crystali!" He cried as the magic was cast. A solid orb of ice formed around the capsule. It hung briefly in the air above the heart of the crowd. A second later and the Burst Pellet exploded, shattering the ice and sending a hail of dagger-like icicles raining down upon everyone beneath. "It's now or never!" Bear roared, dashing forward with his head down. Many people had either fallen or been injured in their tandem attack while others had run for cover. The Viking was able to plow through their diminished ranks like a battering ram with Zatoichi trailing close behind. ~ "Yo Daiohma!" Bear called out again, finally catching sight of his fellow Blue Rogue. "I think it might be safer for us to stick together from here out." Zatoichi sidled up beside the two. "Yes, it would be unwise to be separated again. I think we'll be needing your help to deal with that." Bear glanced in the direction that Zato was pointing. At first all he saw was a mob of fighters, same as anywhere else in the arena. But then a burst of light from within the group caught his attention. The Viking and the ninja watched in stunned silence as an oriental dragon rose from the crowd, spiraling upward towards the dome overhead. Although it seemed to be only an illusion the dragon had created a powerful wave of force, flinging people in every direction. "Looks like someone over there is flexing their muscles." Bear rumbled deep in his chest. Then, turning to Daiohma he made a request. "Can you cast Crystales right here?" He asked, pointing to the ground a few feet away. "Better nip this problem in the bud before it becomes our problem." |

The Ice Fang
|
Daiohma turned to face Cularmati, their team work was a shock to them both. Just then Daiohma caught sight of another attacker, this time an extremely quick man who was most likely from mid-ocean came running at the two from their side. ''I've got this one!'' Daiohma called out as he turned to face the man. He came running at Daiohma with his arms stretched out. At first it seemed like his was not using any weapons, but as soon as he got closer Daiohma noticed he was wearing a pair of metal knuckle dusters. He retracted his gauntlet's claws and stretched out his own hand which became locked with the hands of the attacker. The two pushed against each other, now a test of power. Daiohma knew he was not the strongest guy around, even in this place if he was to continue this 'push' battle that he would lose. Using the man's power to his advantage however was more his style. Slowly he moved their battle around so that his own back was facing Cularmati. Just as the attacker was giving it his all, Daiohma let go of his grip and stepped to one side. The man fell forwards, trying not to fall flat on his face he turned his fall into a steady run at Cularmati who had already taken out his Soulless blade. Cularmati side stepped to the right, just missing a flying paunch as he quickly let out a slash from his blade. The man held his arm where the blade met. It was a small cut, nothing more. ''Ha, you call yourself a pirate?'' He joked at Cularmati. ''It's been a while, hasn't it.'' Cularmati was holding his sword up to his face as if he was talking to it. Suddenly the man's face went white as he fell to the ground, his body cold and motionless. ''Eterni?'' Daiohma asked, ''I, Eterni.'' Cularmati answered with a grin. Cularmati did not have long to be happy over his swords rare ability as a group of six approached them. All of them looked to be from lower valua with home made armor and rusty looking weapons. ''Lets get these guys of our backs and find Bear!'' Daiohma called over to Cularmati. ''Crystali'' He called out creating a ring of ice around the group. Daiohma then jumped at the ice, using it to skate around the group ast a great speed while Cularmati positioned himself in front of them. ''Panika!'' Daiohma called out as he reached top speed, casing the spell at the group. They seemed to forget about the two as they started to fight with each other within the ice ring. Cularmati took out the sword he kept on his back, the Neptune blade, and tossed it over towards the center of the battle. Daiohma jumped into the middle and in a split second back fliped back out of the ring while kicking the sword high above the group. Cularmati took out his pistol and aimed it at the blade. He fired a single shot which made contact with the Neptune blade, causing the bullet to split into six parts, each hitting a member of the confused group of fighters. ''Well that went well.'' Daiohma told Cularmati as the pirate walked over to retrieve his sword from the ground. "Yo Daiohma!" came the same familiar voice from before. Daiohma was glad to see his friend again, now their chance for survival had increased. "I think it might be safer for us to stick together from here out." Bear told the new team. ''Agreed,'' Cularmati answered as he turned his back on them all. Just then Zatoichi the ninja pointed out something in the distance, a large dragon seemed to be coming from a group of people. It seemed unreal, but it was there before their own eyes. Cularmati looked on, some what glad to see such power coming from an attack, if that was what this thing was. Bear turned to Daiohma with a request, "Can you cast Crystales right here?" Daiohma nodded back, ''sure thing!'' He extended his gauntlet's claws and pointed to the ground which Bear was also pointing too. The moon stone claws shone a bright purple, ''Crystales!'' |

(OOC - The second stage will begin now and the Boss will appear. For the next four posts the Boss is invulnerable and Ret-Counters will be in effect. I will demonstrate one of these in this post.) "Thanks! I'll take it from here." Bear said to Daiohma as the pillar of ice sprang from the ground right where he'd wanted it. The Viking squared his shoulders and, with one mighty swing of his axe, chopped the icicle off at its base. There was so much force behind his swing that the icicle rotated a complete 450 degrees in midair. With his free hand Bear reached up and caught it before it could fall to the ground and shatter. Now wielding the thick shaft of ice like a spear Bear took three running steps and threw it straight into the heart of the source of the disturbance. The icicle flew true, impaling a half-dozen fighters as it went. The spear of ice carried through and embedded itself in the far wall of the arena. The bodies of the men hung from it like a macabre shishkebob. "Well, that takes care of that." Bear grunted, clapping his hands together to shake the ice off of them. Whoever had launched that devastating attack wouldn't be bothering them now... RET-COUNTER!!! Now wielding the thick shaft of ice like a spear Bear took three running steps and threw it straight into the heart of the source of the disturbance. But as it flew the men in front of it parted, allowing it to pass. One man remained in its path however. Upon sighting him Bear knew immediately that he was the one responsible for the devastating attack earlier. He was clearly a Yafutoman and was dressed in the garb of a martial artist. Purple breeches and a flowing green sash were his only attire. His torso was inked with an intricate tattoo of an oriental dragon, the very same image they'd all seen earlier. As the ice spear reached him the Yafutoman leapt atop it, running along its length as it passed beneath. He used the spear he wielded as a tightrope walker uses a pole to balance themself. The flowing topknot of hair upon his otherwise bald head flapped in the breeze behind him. Reaching the end of the icicle he casually stepped down. Behind him the icicle sped along its course unimpeded. That is until a second man, also a Yafutoman, leapt in front of it. This one was slightly better armed than the first. He wore a shirt of blue scale mail and wielded a Suiran Blade crafted of Green Moon Stone. His head was also bald, giving one the impression that he was (or had once been) a monk. The icicle sped towards the second man. He held his ground and lifted his sword. The icicle struck the blade and was split cleanly down the middle as it drove itself forward. When, at last, it had passed the swordsman the icicle fell to the ground in two even halves. "Nicely done." The tattooed man complimented him. "Thank you brother." The swordsman replied. "It is an honor to receive your praise." The tattooed man then turned his attention to Bear. "Your attack was also impressive. A bit crude but it had merit." Bear could only stare dumbstruck at the pair. Zatoichi seemed a little intimidated by them. "These men aren't to be trifled with." He whispered, mostly to himself. "I am known as Shingen the Dragon Fang." The tattooed man introduced himself. "And this is my subordinate Ryuzaki." The swordsman bowed respectfully to the group. "I have devoted my life to the Way of the Fist. I seek honor in defeating those who claim to possess strength." Shingen continued in a solemn voice. "You have demonstrated a certain measure of skill. I will prove my worth as a warrior by defeating you all!" With the hand of an expert Shingen twirled his spear over his head and then presented its point to Bear and the others. Ryuzaki bowed his head, uttering a swift prayer to the Blue Moon, and then lowered his body into a fighting stance. "Come at me with all that you have to offer." Shingen issued his challenge. |
