Audrey stood up the best she could with being chain to the wall and shuffled over to inspect the shorter girl's sound. "Don't worry, I'm very good with this sort of thing... looks like a nasty bullet wound though." She placed both hands over the wound and closed her eyes. A green crest would light up over her right hand as she spoke, "Moons... give me strength... Sacrulen!" The spell would close up the wound with little evidence of it even being there at all.

She sighed and sat back down, looking a bit drained from the magic use, and responded to the shorter girl's questions, "No I'm not a part of this cursed crew of madmen... I'm actually a crystal and box maker, I specialize in healing magics. I lived in Sailor's Island and decided to finally get out and see the world when our ship was attacked... what rotten luck." She looked down gloomily. "The rest of the crew was murder by Cularmati's men and I would have been slain as well if it wasn't for that Yafutoman man Mr. Oshima stepping in and saving me... it's because of him that I was allowed to remain alive here in exchange for healing the crew members who get injured... not that I really want to of course..."

After explaining herself and hearing Annie's introduction she brightened up seeming surprised. "Oh! My name is Audrey Relica, nice to meet you Annie... normally no one wants to know my name." She then smiled girlishly for the first time, seeming rather happy to be around people who weren't obviously insane or murderous. "I hope to get away someday... although I fear that they would keep me here until I rot away, which would be a terrible waste... I have so much I haven't been able to do!"

Just then Oshima and Razar walked in and it felt like the room halted in time. Suddenly all hell broke lose as Annie bit into Oshima's ankle. Audrey paled and cried out "M-Mr. Oshima! Annie! W-wait!"

''Get of me you little swine!'' Oshima yelled out as Annie bit into his leg.
He was already in pain and was not expecting her to attack him, after all Razar was the one who had shot her.
The samurai took hold of his katana with his good arm, ready to get the girl free from his leg.
"M-Mr. Oshima! Annie! W-wait!" Audrey cried out.

This caused Oshima to be taking by surprise which made his aim miss Annie.
He looked over at the magic girl for a second before kicking Annie free from his leg.

''We have had our battle and it was a tie.'' He told them.
''If you wish for a rematch then speak up now!!'' His words where harsh even if he was losing blood from his arm and now his leg.

Raven stepped back away from the two as she placed her hand against her neck.
She could feel the small cut that had almost had her head clean off.
''Any chance of helping out a Black Pirate in need?'' She whispered to Audrey in a soft friendly voice that was put on.
''Names Raven.''

As Raven moved down to Audrey's height Razar also made his way over to the magic girl.
''....She bit me again..'' where his only words as he rolled up his sleeve.
On his right arm was indeed a bite mark, a bad one at that.
From the looks of it Marisa had got her teeth in good.

Razar then sat down and waited to be treated.
His rifle rested against his side as he sat down, the bullet chamber was missing one shot.

As Raven and Razar where talking with Audrey this left Oshima and Annie face to face.
He looked her in the eyes wishing he could pull his katana on her, yet his arm was in too much pain.

The samurai turned to close the door, and as he did he removed his katana and placed them up against a chair.
''Were not so different.'' He muttered, directed at both Annie and Raven.

He turned back around, now without his katana and a calm stance his armor was more clear.
Upon his chest armor was a long slash, caused by a blade.

''You lose a fight?'' Raven spoke up as she was just done being cared for by Audrey.

Oshima just smirked, ''Yeah, but next time I'll make him dig his own grave.''
A look of anger and determination crossed his face, ''Darn Black Pirates!'' He said under his breath.

The samurai then removed his left arm armor what had appeared to of been shattered.
As he removed the armor blood ran down his arm and splattered against his feet.

The armor and even the material under it had been shredded away leaving three long claw marks across his arm.
''She got me good this time!'' He said to himself as he looked over the cuts.

Oshima then looked up to meet Audrey's eyes, for a second he smiled.

~

As the door to Audrey's room was closed by Oshima, no one seemed to notice the figure standing just outside.
''Annie is it? That's a nice name...'' The man told himself as he listen to what he could hear.
''Raven? now that is a nice name.'' He flicked his hat up and grinned.

''Hey Wellwood! Need a hand on deck!'' one of the crew called over to the man.

''I have what I need, for now.'' He muttered to himself as he tipped his hat and walked away.

"M-Mr. Oshima! Annie! W-wait!" Audrey's voice cried out from somewhere beyond the haze of anger and violence into which Annie had descended. The young healer's previous words came flooding back into her mind as well. Something about this Yafutoman sword monkey being responsible for her survival.

Had she been mistaken in attacking him?

''Get off me you little swine!'' Oshima's angry words brought her back to her senses though. Nope, she'd been spot on with her decision to attack him. This realization strengthened not only her resolve but the hold she had on Oshima's leg.

Sadly her grip was not strong enough it seemed. Annie was kicked aside but Oshima didn't follow through with his counterattack. Instead he seemed more willing to honor Audrey's request to end the violence.

Rising shakily to her feet Annie decided to do the same for the moment. "Yeah, this ain't the time for round two I guess." She agreed with Oshima. Instead she contented herself with sitting on the edge of the bed and glaring at Razar with all of the malevolence she could muster.

Annie's gaze was predictably drawn to Razar's rifle instead. She gave it an appreciative glance. "Nice gun." She said in all honesty.

''You lose a fight?'' Raven asked the two. Come to think of it the pirates did seem a little worse for wear now that Annie looked at them. Then it donned on her that that was the reason they were there. The two of them weren't there to pick a fight. They were also seeking medical attention after their duel.

It made sense to Annie. She still wanted to beat the immortal piss out of both of them though. But for now she'd settle for talking a little smack. "Oh just nut up and deal with it you pansies. I swear, they just don't build men like they used to." Annie snickered at the pirates' wounded condition heedless of the fact that she too was injured during their duel.

Now that their rematch was on hold and since no convenient plan to escape the Misery had yet presented itself Annie decided to relax for the first time since coming aboard. She flopped back on Audrey's bed and stared blankly at the ceiling.

"So what happens now?" She wondered aloud.

For a moment Audrey was afraid that her cry of peace was going to be ignored, especially by the hot-headed Annie, but she sighed shakily as the honored her request. The woman known as Raven approached her whispering, ''Any chance of helping out a Black Pirate in need?'' Right before she introduced herself. Audrey looked at the wound and placed her right hand over the cut, the crest on the back of her right hand glowing, "Of course Miss Raven, this won't be too bad at all... Moons, give me strength! Sarcres!" The wound in Raven's neck would heal up, however it may be tender for a few minutes.

Razar approached the two and rolled up his sleeve, ''....She bit me again..' Indeed a nasty bite wound was on the Naserean's arm. Audrey looked it over with a frown, "Again...? One moment..." Again she placed her right hand over the wound and the crest glowed, "Moons, give me strength... Sacrulen!" The wound would close up and depending on its severity would leave a bit of a scar but would otherwise be intact. She sighed afterward, continuous use of high level spells seemed to take a bit out of her.

After taking care of Raven and Razar she looked over at Oshima and watched as he removed his now damaged armor to reveal the fresh bloody wounds on his arm, ''She got me good this time!'' As he smiled at Audrey she smiled back as their eyes met but then she looked concerned as she got up to move as close to him as her chains permitted, which wasn't very far. "Oh no, Mr. Oshima, Marisa got you too? Would you like me to heal it too?" She had assumed that he had come to get healed however his pride might keep him from wanting it healed to the point where a scar would be barely visible. She wondered if all Yafutoman samurai were odd like that.

Raven placed her hand against her neck where the cut once was.
''Much better,'' She said as she turned to look at Audrey to give her a wink.
The Black Pirate then watched as Razar sat down next to her.
She did not mind, after all he was not the one who attacked her.

As Audrey tended to Razar's wound Raven helped herself to a good look at the bite.
''Not the first time she done that then.'' She asked.
Razar did not even turn his head nor mutter a single word.
''You can tell me darling.'' Raven teased as she moved herself closer to the Nasr man.
Once more he did not respond or even take notice of Raven's presence.

''No problem.'' Raven shrugged as she stood up,
''I mean I can't blame you, staring in secret through them goggles at my wonderful body.'' She teased as she bent down a little to show off her figure before turning her back on Razar.
Razar twitched for a second as his hand quickly opened then closed as if he was fighting the urge to grab his rifle.
He managed to stay calm and allow Audrey to finish off attending to his arm.

"Oh no, Mr. Oshima, Marisa got you too? Would you like me to heal it too?" Audrey's question made Raven stop flirting and look over at the Samurai.
''That won't be needed.'' Oshima replied as he reached for a roll of cloth on a nearby shelf.
Using one hand he skillfully wrapped the cloth around his wound, his pride as a warrior always stopped him for having wounds cleared for sight.
This was know by all the crew aboard The Misery, after all his chest plate still bares the sword wound that was given to him by Cularmati himself.

With their wounds taken care off, Oshima and Razar both stood and made their way to the door.
Razar was the first out, he went just as he came, silent without a single word.
Oshima stopped for a moment with his hand on the door handle.
''We thank you once more as always.'' It was clear that Oshima was addressing Audrey, yet the tone of his voice was almost a sad one.
There was something about Oshima that separated him from the others,
''When I take his life you will also be set free.''

The samurai closed the door behind him as he went on his way.
Raven sat back down and put her arms behind her head as she leaned against the wall.
She looked over at Audrey before looking at Annie and grinning,
''There a right pair them two.'' She laughed.

''Now then, what are three beautiful ladies like us going to do on a ship like this?''
Raven's words may of seemed like a joke but there was some fact to them.
''You are here against your wishes, right.'' The Black Pirate casually waved her hand at Audrey,
''And as for Annie and myself, well come tomorrow we are pretty much dead.''

Just then the sound of foot steps could be heard, step by step they became louder.
''You hear that?'' Raven raised her finger to her lips as if to tell the two girls to be quiet.

The foot steps suddenly stopped, but there was no shadows coming from under the door.
Just as Raven was about to stand up and open the door, something silver fell before her eyes.
A small silver item had fallen from above them and landed in the middle of the room.
Raven quickly looked up to see a tiny crack in the roof.
The foot steps could be heard once more but this time they sounded quicker as they moved away.

''Oh someone must be wanting to get a peek at me.'' Raven joked as she wrapped her arms around her body, twirling around on one leg.
She stopped as her foot made contact with the small item which she then bent down to pick up.
''Odd, it's a key?'' She held the small key in her hand as she wondered what it could be for.
''Any ideas Annie?'' She asked as she tossed the key towards her.

~

''I help you, and you help me.'' The man in the long brown leather coat said to himself as he walked down the corridor, away from a small crack in the floor.

As he went out and above deck a shadow from the opposite side of the corridor was watching him.
''Marisa saw what you did, and now she will play.''
She raised her metal hand to her mouth as she licked the blood from her claws.
At her feet was a crew member drenched in his own blood, his head missing.

Annie gazed at the ceiling, doing her best to ignore all of the lovey-dovey bull crap that was going on for some reason. She wasn't the sharpest sword on the rack but Annie could tell that there was something brewing between Oshima and Audrey. Enough men had hit on her in the past that she could tell when one of them was getting fresh. And that's what it looked like the Yafutoman was attempting to do.

In such situations Annie always dealt with her admirers by either firing a few shots at them to chase them off or, in the case of the ones with grabby hands, by bashing them over the head and then stomping their crotches until they passed out. That's what Annie wanted to do to Oshima and Razar right now but she'd already agreed to a temporary truce. She'd just have to deal with her pent-up aggressions for now.

Raven made it even harder to resist the temptation of violence when she began flirting with Razar. "Well lah-dee-dah, ain't we a cozy bunch?" She barked, sitting up on the bed. Annie drew her knife, causing the two pirates to flinch. But instead of taking a stab at one of them she contented herself with poking at the wall with its tip.

Eventually the two pirates made an end to their business and left the room. Oshima mentioned taking someone's life but Annie didn't pay it any mind. She just assumed it had something to do with his job on the ship which seemed to consist solely of killing people.

''There a right pair them two.'' Raven laughed the moment the door was closed.

Annie looked up from her knife work. "Yeah. But a pair of what, I wanna know." She said, admiring the set of initials she'd carved into the Misery's wall. Now whoever they imprisoned in this room next would know that she had been here before them.

The thing now was making sure she wasn't still here when that unfortunate soul arrived. From what Raven was saying it seemed that the two of them were on the same page. They needed to find a way off of this ship and it sounded like Audrey would be joining them.

Suddenly Raven called for silence. ''You hear that?'' She whispered. Annie strained her ears to hear whatever had spooked the Black Pirate. She could make out soft footfalls coming from the deck above. She was about to dismiss it as only someone passing by when something fell from the ceiling and landed on the floor with a metallic clink.

It turned out to be Raven dismissing the incident as the work of a peeping tom while Annie was struck by a wave of paranoia. She raised her weapon towards the ceiling but nothing further happened to warrant her filling the roof full of holes.

"Odd. It's a key." Raven's voice pulled Annie's attention back to the object that had been dropped into the room. "Any ideas Annie?" The pirate asked, tossing the key towards her.

Annie caught the key in midair and held it up for examination. "Could open anything." She shrugged. "A door, a treasure chest, hell it could even be the ignition key to this ship." Annie doubted that very much. "Question is, who gave it to us and why?"

At least Annie guessed that someone was helping them. If they were trying to do them harm they'd have dropped something heavier into the room. Like an anchor or a safe or something.

Annie looked from Raven to Audrey, hoping one of them had a clue. Thinking was not one of her strong points. And then a sudden glimmer of inspiration managed to surface in the muddy pool of her thoughts. Annie's gaze was drawn to the heavy chain that anchored Audrey to the wall.

"Hey, maybe its the key to that thing." Annie suggested, pointing towards the shackle secured around Audrey's ankle. "Try it and see." She dropped the key into the young medic's lap.

As Audrey tended to Razar's wounds she couldn't help feel a tad uncomfortable at Raven's display of flirtation and sexual overtness. She herself wasn't all that comfortable with having the affections of men pointed in her direction so being around a woman who wielded her sex appeal like a weapon was a bit unnerving, although some part of her wished she had the confidence for it.

Although Oshima had turned her down for her healing she wasn't offended, she had known that the proud man wouldn't accept her aid but she had to offer it anyway... how couldn't she? As Oshima and Razar went to leave Oshima turn to seemingly address Audrey alone ''We thank you once more as always.'' She bowed her head in respect "You are welcome... I do what I can." However Oshima's tone made her feel a bit concerned as he left with his parting words, ''When I take his life you will also be set free.''

As he said this and left Audrey whispered "Just please... be careful." After they left she heard Raven ''There a right pair them two.'' And she then promptly turned right red and turned away, "W-we aren't anything!" She tried to regain her composure as she looked back, "Yeah I'm here against my will... being forced to heal evil pirates and being chained to the wall isn't something I really like..."

At this moment a noise from above caught her attention as announced by Raven. A silver key fell from a crack and onto the floor as footsteps walked away. Raven picked up the key and mused about its uses before tossing it Annie who considered everything from a chest to the ship's ignition before giving the key to Audrey, "Hey maybe it's the key to that thing. Try and see."

Audrey nodded and tested the key out. The lock clicked open and her pulled out her ankle to rub it, it was a bit bruised from the shackle. "Finally, I am free of this thing! Moons, bless me! Sacri!" Her right hand crest glowed green as she healed up the minor injuries caused by the shackle. She stood up and walked around the room with a cute grin on her face "Yay! But now that I am free, what are we going to do? Mr. Oshima intends to fight Cularmati again... are we going to just sit back and watch?"

Raven watched as Audrey tried the key on the heavy looking shackles which kept her in the little room.
She was a little surprised that the key worked, why would someone want to help her, or them?

''Well that makes my work a little more easy.'' She grinned at Annie.
Raven folded her arms and looked away from the two,
''I might be a Black Pirate but I can't escape from here with out you.''
She raised her hand to chin as she started to laugh.

She was some what kind for a Black Pirate yet in truth she wanted the two girls incase she could not handle escaping on her own.
If she wanted to she could just leave them, yet she had grown to like Annie and as for Audrey she could not leave her in such a place.
Audrey then attended to her own bruised leg while Raven walked over to admire the 'art' Annie had added to the room's wall.

"Yay! But now that I am free, what are we going to do?'' Audrey asked the two.
''Mr. Oshima intends to fight Cularmati again... are we going to just sit back and watch?"

Raven turned around stunned,
''Oshima? That samurai?'' She looked over at Annie then back again to Audrey a little confused,
''What do you mean? He works for him doesn't he, after all he helped to sink 'my' ship.''

The cogs in Raven's mind started to turn, she knew she could use this to escape, but how.
''You say again, so he must of attempted this before.'' Raven became puzzled.
''Cularmati is said to be evil, plain and simple.'' She looked up at the hole in the roof.
''So why does Oshima live...and furthermore why do we?''

Raven sat back down for a moment in order to think back about the morning's events and the meeting with the old man.
''That old man, he said we were tested and passed. Yet it would of been easy to just have the crew kill us?''

The Black Pirate was puzzled by this, it was clear the Captain wanted to fight them both but his reasons were not clear.
Could it be that there was more to his ways than simple killing.
Just then there was a noise at the door, someone was coming into the room.

''Food, one hour.'' A short dirty man said without even looking.
No sooner as he had said what he came to say he had already gone.
The day was slowly moving along, and Annie's and Raven's battle would soon be upon them.

''Well we best get out of here then.'' Raven stood up,
''I'm sure the crew wont mind you wondering around with us.'' She smiled at Audrey as she ran her fingers across her sword.

She pushed the door open putting her head around the corner first.
''Well I guess we might as well have a look around.''

Annie hopped up from the bed and moved over to the door. "Yeah, you're right. We still need to find a way off of this tub." She agreed with Raven. Annie opened the door a crack and peered out. "Coast is clear. Grab your stuff and let's haul ass."

Annie took the lead and made her way down the hall. She still didn't know the ship's layout so they'd all just have to look around until they got lucky. If push came to shove Annie resolved to waylay one of the crewmen and ask for directions again. But that would blow their cover so it was best to hold out on doing that for as long as possible.

For several minutes Annie led the other girls around in what seemed like circles. "Let's try this one." She announced, jerking her thumb at another unmarked door. Swinging it open Annie poked her head in to have a look at what was inside.

"What the bloody blazes!" A half-dressed pirate yelled in irritation.

"Oops, wrong door!" Annie apologized, slamming it closed again. She turned to the two girls, blushing profusely. "Looks like that's the men's wash room."

And so their search continued.

~

Annie eventually led the girls into a long hallway lined with doors. She pressed her ear to one of these and shook her head. "Somebody's inside." She whispered. Moving to the next door she listened for similar activity behind it. It seemed quiet so Annie gently twisted the doorknob and cracked the door open to peer inside. She closed it immediately.

"Looks like these are the crew quarters." Annie informed the other girls. "We shouldn't hang around here too long."

Moving onward Annie soon came to the end of the hall. There was a door and another hallway beyond. Annie sidled down it until she came to a corner. Hearing the sound of voices around the way she motioned for Raven and Audrey to wait a moment while she crept forward to peek around the corner. There were a half dozen men standing in the hallway, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

"No good. Let's go back the other way." Annie said under her breath as she pushed between Raven and Audrey to retrace her steps. She made it as far as the doorway leading back to the crew quarters when the sound of a door being slammed and rang out like a gunshot. Soon she could hear the voices of men heading in their direction.

"Okay, back that way." Annie sighed, turning around once again. Now they were sandwiched between two groups of pirates with nowhere to run or hide. "Er....just act casual." Annie suggested as she rounded the corner and came within sight of the group of men in the hallway.

The men quieted as the girls drew closer. Then they began to whistle and make cat-calls. "Hey hey hey, pretty ladies. You come to cook us something tasty?" One of the men laughed. He stepped forward to get a better look at Raven, his eyes crawling up the length of her body and finally stalling at her breasts.

But it was Annie who answered him. "Sure thing sugar britches." Annie smiled. She reached up to tickle the pirate under the chin. He closed his eyes, seemingly enjoying the attention. That is, until Annie's opposite hand rocketed up to uppercut him just below the jaw. "Here's my specialty! A knuckle sammich!" She cackled as the pirate fell backwards.

"You little bit~" The pirate scrambled to get to his feet but fell back down when the barrel of Annie's machinegun was pressed against his temple.

"Mess with us and you'll be eatin' lead." She growled. The dangerous glint in her eye made it clear that she wasn't bluffing. The fallen pirate wisely scuttled away from the gun and took shelter behind the other men. But when he stood up they began to snort with laughter at him.

"Man, you're a dumbass." One of the pirates chortled. "I told you to leave that one alone."

"Yeah. If Razar couldn't handle her what made you think you had a chance?" A second added.

"Ladies first." A third pirate addressed the girls. He swept his arms towards the door they had gathered outside of in a mock display of chivalry.

Annie regarded the door warily for a moment. "Er....thank ye kindly." She responded awkwardly as she stepped through.

Inside the room there were long tables set up with benches on either side of them. A few people were busy setting out plates and tankards and the smell of something cooking wafted from a doorway set at the opposite end of the room.

"This must be the mess hall." Annie sighed. "I guess we're staying for dinner."

Audrey moved to the corner of the room and picked up a purse and looked inside it. Unfortunately all the crystals and boxes that she had had with her were missing, most likely taken by the other pirates as loot. "Aww... all my items are gone..." She sighed as she followed Annie and Raven out the door.

As they wandered about the insides of the ship it occurred to Audrey that she didn’t know why they were following Annie when she obviously had no idea where they were going. However she felt that it was in her best interests to not challenge Annie for the position of leader since she really didn't know the ship that well either as she had always been confined in her cell.

Annie finally chose a door at random which ended up being the men's washroom. Upon hearing the surprised pirate’s exclamation, the group quickly kept moving on, Audrey cringed at the thought of seeing a naked pirate… pretty much all of the men on this ship were ugly enough when fully clothed…

~

They finally got to a hallway lined with doors and after inspecting one Annie informed them that these had to be the crew's quarters. so they quickly moved down to the end of the hall which led to yet another door and hall. Audrey was surprised how large the ship actually was on the inside, anyone could get lost in here and she wondering if crew mates ever got lost too.

As they got to the corner Annie motioned for them to wait as she went to look around it. As she got back she said quietly "No good. Let's go back the other way." Audrey sighed as she turned around only to hear a door open followed by the sounds of men talking and coming closer. "Okay back that way." The girls turned yet again only to become stuck between two groups of pirates. Audrey was both irritated and scared at this point and tried her best to hide behind Annie and Raven, not wanting to be noticed.

As the group from around the corner saw the girls they became calling out to them "Hey hey hey, pretty ladies. You come to cook us something tasty?" As Annie walked up to the man with a nicely crafted retort, Audrey said in a small voice only Raven could hear, "I...I can't cook..." She jumped in surprise as Annie uppercutted the one pirate, "Here's my specialty! A knuckle sammich!"

The man fell over and began to call Annie a name before he was silenced by the sight of Annie's machine gun. He quickly escaped to the group of pirates which began laughing at him for his foolishness. Audrey looked about nervously, scared of the pirates but glad that Annie was on her side... at least for now.

One of the pirates then opened a door into what was revealed to be the galley and the girls looked about at the long tables and tankards. Audrey kept close to Raven and Annie, "I suppose dinner would be nice... I am hungry."
