Annie stood up a little straighter and rested her machine gun across her shoulder. Her lips twisted into a sneer as she glared around at all of the pirates who now had them surrounded. "Lady, I like your style." She laughed at Raven's reply. Taking on all of these pirate pukes sounded like a grand idea to her.

But then again none of the aforementioned pirate pukes seemed interested in taking them on. They just stood around, staring at the two women. "Annie? I guess you have noticed they have not attacked us yet." Raven asked her.

"Yeah, they're smarter than they look." Annie sighed in disappointment. And that was when HE appeared. A large man, obviously the ship's captain, emerged from his cabin. Annie didn't remember Alex's earlier comment about a pirate who came from Deep Sky but something told her that this guy was not someone she really wanted to mess with.

"Who...was that?" Annie gasped as a chill slid up her spine. It had been years since she'd been afraid of anyone but something about that man really creeped her out.

There was a lot of commotion on the deck then and Annie gathered that some hardcore violence was about to go down. That strange, scary pirate was gone and Annie's normal bravado returned. "Yeah, that's right bitches! Come and get some!" She screamed at the big Viking who was approaching them.

But then he was confronted by another man, this one smaller and wielding two swords. They seemed to argue over which one was going to fight the two women. "Hey, there's plenty of us to go around! We'll take you both on!" Annie called out to them. She really didn't care which one she was going to fight.

Then a gunshot rang out and she knew that neither of those men was going to be her opponent.

~

Annie’s eyes crossed as they attempted to focus on the red dot that had appeared between them. “Uh oh.” She gasped and threw herself to the side a split-second before another gunshot rang out. The bullet passed through the area in space Annie’s head had occupied that long ago and instead buried itself in the wood of the Misery’s forecastle.

Annie rolled to the side and scrambled to the relative safety offered by the mast. She pressed her back against the thick wooden barrier and slid to her feet. “Well if this ain’t a kick in the pants.” She muttered while exploring her options. That sniper had the drop on her right now. The second she moved even an inch out from behind the mast he’d plug her.

“Hmm.” Annie thought to herself. “Maybe if there was more to shoot at….”

This train of thought rolled onward for a few more seconds and then Annie’s eyes lit up with inspiration. Judging from the jeers and catcalls coming from nearby there was a small group of pirates standing just off to the left beyond the mast. “Perfect.” Annie snickered.

Withdrawing a grenade from her skirt pocket Annie pulled its pin but held its fuse tightly. With her other hand she reached up and untied her bandanna.

~

Razar remained perfectly motionless with his eye pressed to his rifle’s sight. He was calm, his aim perfect. No shots had been wasted and his target was pinned for the moment. The Nasrean had no doubt that he’d take her down this time.

Suddenly there was a rush of movement from the right side of the mast. A flash of olive green fabric was all Razar’s mind had time to comprehend before his finger reflexively squeezed the trigger of his rifle. His aim was true and yet he had missed his target. Annie’s bandanna fluttered to the deck, a single bullet hole piercing it.

Beneath his scarf Razar’s lips twisted into a smile. This girl was the most difficult challenge to his skills that he’d encountered in a very long time.

~

In one swift motion Annie flung her bandanna out to her right and then dashed off in the opposite direction. Sure enough a single shot was fired at her decoy, giving her a window of only a few seconds to make her move. And move she did.

“Stampede!” Annie screamed as she lobbed her grenade into the midst of the men who had gathered near the railing to watch the bloodsport. There was a dull whump of sound and then a thick cloud of green smoke began to billow up from the deck.

The effect was immediate. Pirates scattered in all directions in a bid to escape from the lethal fumes of Annie’s Nerve Gas grenade. Those caught at the rear of the group were seized in violent fits of coughing. A few fell overboard and were lost while others collapsed to the deck, gasping and retching. But enough of them escaped the poisonous cloud to serve Annie’s purpose.

Skirting the edge of the cloud Annie blended into the chaotic movements on the deck. Always wary of the sharp-eyed sniper she did her best to keep one of the pirates between herself and his line of sight. She knew he wouldn’t hesitate to fire upon his own people but hopefully all of the other moving targets on deck now would make it difficult for him to get a bead on her.

Difficult for him but not for her. Annie wove her way through the crowd until could line up a shot of her own. Stepping out into the open she raised her machine gun, aiming towards the glowing dot that was even now zeroing in on her. “Dance for me you monkey!” She cried as she opened fire. Bullets streaked through the air, flying straight and true towards the sniper’s position.

~

As difficult as it was to believe Razar lost sight of his target. The Misery’s deck was obscured by what appeared to be a Noxus spell and his fellow crewmen were running scared from the attack. “Clever.” The Nasrean rifleman commended his opponent. His sharp eyes scanned the crowd until he finally caught sight of his quarry.

“Dance for me you monkey!” The girl’s voice cried out over the sound of panicked pirates. This time it was Razar who came under fire. In a flourish of his cape he backed away from the upper deck’s railing and dropped to a crouch. The barrage of gunfire passed harmlessly overhead but he was well aware that it wasn’t meant to hit him.

Once the gunfire had ended Razar dashed back to the railing and swept the deck for any sign of Annie. Her assault had bought her just enough time to take cover much closer to his sniping point. Razar was rapidly running out of room. If Annie managed to pull off another rush like that she’d be practically on top of him. At that range she’d have an overwhelming advantage.

Razar would not let that happen.

Scanning the deck he reckoned the best place for her to take cover would be behind a stack of water casks that had been left near the right side of the deck. Yes, that was most certainly where Annie was hiding. Taking careful aim Razar lined up a shot and pulled the trigger.

~

Annie crouched behind the stack of water casks to catch her breath and plan her next move. The staircase leading to the upper deck was her next goal. If she could gain that position she’d be able to catch that infuriating sniper with his pants down and fill him full of lead.

But just as Annie was about to make her move another shot rang out and the stack of casks she was hiding behind suddenly began to collapse. “What the fu….” Annie gasped, glancing over her shoulder to realize that she was now wide open to be picked off. Now in a panic she scrambled madly towards the staircase.

Another shot was fired and Annie felt the bullet graze her arm. A third shot passed so close to her head that she could feel the wind off of it. Ahead of her the staircase loomed, so close and yet so very far away.

There was a fourth shot and Annie found herself tumbling to the ground. Pain raced up her leg but she didn’t have time to worry about that right now. She still had one good leg and two arms. Annie clawed at the deck, pulling herself along as quickly as she could.

A fifth shot was fired. The top step of the staircase exploded in a shower of splinters. It wasn’t until that moment that Annie realized she’d made it safely to her goal. There she huddled down behind them, safe for the moment from the sniper’s fire.

~

Razar silently cursed his bad luck. His first shot had been on target, cleanly snapping the rope that had been holding the water casks together and exposing his target. But then everything had gone horribly wrong.

For some reason he just couldn’t seem to hit Annie. It was like she was slipping out if his crosshairs every time he got her in his sights. Four shots fired and only two had struck her. And those two had only been glancing blows.

And now she was practically sitting in his lap with at least a half a clip worth of ammunition. He’d managed to wound her but wasn’t sure how badly. If Annie were to reach the top of the stairs Razar knew he’d only have one last shot at her before her weapon tore him to pieces.

“Fine, come to my flame little moth.” Razar whispered.

~

Annie tore a strip of fabric off of the hem of her skirt and tied it around her arm. That wound was little more than a scratch and wasn’t going to cause her much difficulty. But the shot to her leg might be trouble.

Tearing off the sleeve of her shirt she dabbed away some of the blood surrounding the wound and took stock. As far as wounds went, this one wasn’t all that serious. The bullet had passed clean through the left side of her thigh, leaving a bloody hole. The bone beneath was unharmed though so she could still walk, albeit very painfully.

The problem was she wouldn’t be moving very quickly when the time came to rush the sniper’s position. And that meant that he was going to have plenty more chances to shoot her full of holes. And this time the holes might lead to something that she couldn’t live without.

Annie tied her shirt sleeve around the wound, wincing in pain as she applied pressure to it. It was go time and she knew she was walking straight into an ambush. But if she managed to get off the first shot then she was confident she would be victorious.

“Fine, get ready pal. I’m comin’ for ya.” Annie muttered to herself.

Raven rolled forwards as Oshima came down from above, landing just behind Raven as his katana sliced into the wooden deck.
With movement as quick as the wind oshima pulled his blade free as he spun around to cleave his opponent's head clean off,
yet to his disbelief Raven already had her own sword drawn and was holding it behind he as she got up from her roll.
The katana scrapped against Raven's Cutlass as she turned to face the Samurai.

''Got to be quicker than that.'' She winked at him as pulled her sword away from his, ready to swing it back down for her own attack.
The sound of clanging metal was not what she expected to hear as he sword once more clashed against Oshima's own.
Raven's grin quickly turned into a look of frustration as she took three more repeated swings with hr sword, each time Oshima countered with ease.
''I'm sorry, but play time is over.'' The samurai mocked the Black Pirate.

On the third sword counter Oshima kicked out his right leg, knocking Raven's sword into the air above.
This was quickly followed by his katana yet the blade did not meat it's target.
Raven had already moved backwards out of the reach of the long weapon, she knew she had to play it safe as this man seemed to be extremely skilled.

Raven's sword spun around in the air, it's green Moon Stone blade caught the morning light as it shone.
The sword started to descend as Raven made a dash for it, running towards the area which it would land.

She worked out it's location but did not expect Oshima to of got there before her.
His katana reflected his grin as Raven's sword landed behind him, sticking out from the deck.
''End of the line.'' He knew without a sword she was his.

Raven stopped in her tracks, her weapon was out of her reach and she did not fancy her chances against this Oshima guy.
That was when she remembered her pistol which she took no time at all in reaching for.
''I'll be taking my sword, oh and your life.'' She laughed as she pointed her pistol at the samurai.

Oshima's expression was that of anger and betrayal, ''You bloody cheating Pirate!'' He shouted out.
''How dare you use such a weapon in a sword fight!''

Raven could only smile as she gently pulled on the trigger, ''I'm a Pirate.''

Just then to Oshima's surprise the deck became covered in a green gas as some of the crew started to run around confused.
He used this to his advantage to move out of sight.

''Lost him!'' Raven was annoyed but used this moment to run for her sword.
Just as she was reunited with her weapon she found herself sliding across the deck with a sudden pain in her back.
She turned to see who had kicked her across the deck, with out any guess she knew it was Oshima.
He was just lowering the foot he had used to kick Raven in the back, his samurai armor had helped cause most of the pain.

Oshima now stood with both his katana in hands and a somewhat murderous look upon his face.
''I will not lose to a cheat who can't fight with honor!'' He shouted out.

''This guy doesn't take losing easy.'' Raven told herself as she picked herself up from the deck.
No sooner as she was standing she found herself face to face with Oshima, his movements were too quick for her to react and she found herself being kicked again.
This time it was in the stomach which caused Raven to drop to her knees.

Oshima raised his blade, ready to end Raven, the crew who were not effected by the green gas were chanting for Oshima to slice Raven's head clean off.
As Raven raised her head she could tell Oshima was ready to bring his katana down on her, but then a quick thought came into her head.
She was no longer head level with Oshima, her head was in a great location when up against a male.

As Oshima swung his katana down he was suddenly stopped in his tracks, his face red with pain as he fell over, clenching between his legs.
Raven had used the reveres end of her pistol to whack Oshima as hard as she could where it hurts most.

''Well I guess that's the end of that.'' Raven mocked as she stood up, shaking her head as she shrugged her arms.
Even in such pain Oshima would not allow himself to lose to a Black Pirate, he saw his window of opportunity as he reached for his katana.

As raven was lowering her right arm from her victory pose Oshima, while still down on the deck swung his blade at the bandages that were wrapped around Raven's arm.
The blade sliced them clean off reveling her scars which the katana also sliced into.

Raven let out a cry of pain as she moved her arm away, the katana which was still dug into her scars was pulled away from Oshima's hand as it was flung across the deck.
The Black Pirate collapsed as she grabbed her arm, the blood dripped over her boots.

Oshima had already stood and had made his way towards her, his other katana at the ready to end the black Pirate.
Raven looked up, she felt helpless, yet not because of this samurai but from what the scare represented.
Her memory of who she first got the scare were closely tied with that of her Captain.

Raven closed her eyes not knowing what to do, for some reason she felt like she was a child again, waiting for her Captain to come and save her.
She slowly opened her eyes after a while, wondering why she could still do so.

Oshima was stood right in front of her as she could feel something cold against her neck as well as something warm run down it.
The katana was pressed against her neck as a trail of her blood ran down her neck.

Raven looked up at the samurai, wondering why he had stopped when she was so close to ending her life.
She noticed his attention was not on her, but on the sand timer.

The glass sand timer was being held in the distance by a cloaked man, who from the way he was standing must of been very old.
Oshima slowly pulled his katana away from Raven's neck as he turned to face her.
''Seems the sands of time saved you, but now your his problem.''

Raven did not know what he was going on about but she had snapped back to her normal self as she jumped up with sword in hand.
''Your lucky you stopped when you did!'' Raven snapped at oshima as he turned around and walked away.
''Yeah you better run!'' Raven tried to make up for her actions.
She had not felt like that in such a long time, she thought to herslef it was most likely caused by the fact she was so close to finding the White Raven and that her scare was reveled.
A scare that held so many memory of her past.

She quickly shook these thoughts from her head as she looked around for Annie.
As she looked she also noticed that along with Oshima the crew had also started to wonder away, back to what ever it was they were doing before Annie and Raven arrived.
''Well this is odd.....Hey Annie? You still alive?''

~

''The sands of time are almost over.'' Cularmati said as he looked over an old chart.
The man sat in the same room as the Black Pirate stood and made his way to the door,
''A minute longer before fate decided their path.'' The old man muttered.

''Tell me old man, do you see death?'' The Black Pirate asked without looking away from his work.
The old man removed the bandage from around his eyes, the empty black sockets stared into nothingness.
''Your death is yet to arrive with these two, yet their own deaths as but a blur.''

Cularmati grinned as the old man left the room, ''Tomorrow then, their lives are in my hands.''

From outside the old man took a hold of the sand timer, and as the last grain fell he held it above his head.
''how strange,'' He told himself, ''I see no death tomorrow.''

Annie gritted her teeth and ejected the clip on her machine gun. She did indeed have a little over half a clip left. It was more than enough to ruin that sniper’s life but getting into a solid position to deliver the pain was going to be the tricky part.

Rising to a crouch Annie risked a glance over the top of the steps. No gunfire greeted her. She smiled. The sniper was smart enough to keep himself as far away from her as possible. That’s how snipers operated. He was most likely waiting for her to make her move since the staircase leading to the upper deck was a good choke point. Annie would be a sitting duck while she was climbing up.

“Only one way to go from here. Up.” Annie reckoned, trying to come up with an alternative strategy. She didn’t have one though. Even if she tried to reach the staircase on the opposite side of the deck it’d be the same thing. There was no chance in Hell that a sniper of this caliber would leave such a blind spot in his defense.

Annie was not the most patient person in Arcadia. When she couldn’t come up with any better idea she decided to just chance it. It was about 50/50, a gamble plain and simple. Whoever got off the first shot was going to win. “I’ll take them odds.”

Committed to her plan Annie rose shakily to her feet and then sprinted up the stairs.

~

Razar lay in a prone position in the middle of the upper deck. From his position he could see both stairwells and was confident he could get off a clean headshot the moment he detected movement coming from either direction.

Suddenly he heard the clatter of someone racing up the steps. He held his breath, waiting until the perfect moment. Annie’s head materialized at the top of the stairwell and he squeezed the trigger.

There was a cry of pain and he saw Annie fall.

~

Annie’s plan had one fatal error in it. In her rush to end the duel she’d forgotten that her leg was wounded. She’d only taken a few steps up the stairwell when it gave out beneath her. With a cry of pain and surprise she tumbled sideways and fell off of the stairs, landing in a heap on the deck below.

“Ow! Sonuva…” Annie groaned when she hit the deck. Her leg hurt like Hell and she’d jarred it pretty hard when she landed. She didn’t have time to whine about it though. Not while that sniper was still breathing.

A rustling sound from above heralded his arrival. Annie looked up to see him looking down upon her. Instinctively she raised her machine gun and opened fire.

~

Razar was on his feet and at the railing to confirm his kill almost before Annie had hit the deck. He peered over the edge only to see Annie peering up at him. She was just as surprised to see him but managed to get her gun up before he could. The machine gun chattered angrily and the handrail that Razar had been grasping a second earlier was pulverized into splinters.

Silently cursing his increasingly bad luck Razar threw himself backwards to avoid the gunfire. He readied his weapon to return fire but then lowered it. With his quarry hiding in the blind spot beneath the railing he couldn’t get a clear shot at her. He’d have to hold his rifle out over its edge at an awkward angle and fire straight down at her. But that was a foolish move and he was no fool.

Before Razar could even consider an alternative strategy Vision appeared on deck and retrieved the hourglass. The last grains of sand had fallen and their duel was at an end.

“Well played.” Razar sighed wearily. “But this is far from over.”

~

Annie pushed herself to her feet and raised her weapon. With a grimace she lowered it again. “Dammit, a dead angle!” She muttered angrily. From this position she couldn’t even see her target, let alone shoot it. She’d have to either move further out onto the deck or try to mount the stairs again. With her leg all shot up Annie didn’t think she could manage either option.

Before Annie could take further action an old man materialized on the upper deck to display what looked like an hourglass. She vaguely recalled someone mentioning something about a three-minute time limit earlier. Was the fight over?

“Hey Annie? You still alive?'' Raven’s voice called from across the deck.

Annie was hurt but her wounds were not serious. “Yeah, I’m still kickin’!” She replied with a groan as she began hobbling across the deck towards her.

“Yeah, I’m still kickin’!” Raven heard Annie call out as she hobbled towards her from the other side of the deck.
There was no longer any sign of the samurai or cloaked man who the two had just been fighting against.
''Well that was odd.'' Raven said as she looked around.

The crew had started swabbing the deck where the green gas had settled while others prepared the sails.
The morning light was now up, yet even with this light the Misery still had a feeling of dread cast over it.

''Well theres no sign of that cargo ship no more..'' Raven was looking back from where they had both arrived from.
The Regal Cargo ship was no more, just a large empty space leading down into deep sky where most of what remained of their ship had sank.

Raven swung her blade around for a second before attaching it back to her belt.
She took a hold of her pistol and checked her ammo bag, ''Darn it!''
Even during her battle when she had pulled her pistol on Oshima she never did have the upper hand at that time as she was out of ammo.

Raven turned to face Annie, wondering why they were both still standing.
''I can't belive this ship is real..'' Raven's voice sounded nervous, she was scared which was no secret.
Trying not to show her fear she took one of the pink strips of cloth from her belt and wrapped it around her arm, covering the scare she got back when she was up against a valuan ship.

Just as she had done wrapping the cloth around her arm she heard a strange clawing sound,
''Was that you Annie?'' Raven asked as she turned her attention back to the girl.
Before she could answer something dropped down from the ships rigging, hanging from the roped upside down between the two of them.
Raven found herself face to face with a pair of red eyes as the thing slowly turned around as it dangled between them both.
''You still live?'' The blond haired girl asked as her face turned past Annie's with an evil grin.

''You!'' Raven knew this was the same girl that attacked her back on 'her' ship.
After all how many psychotic girls with monstrous metal arms were there?

Raven backed away as she placed her hand on her sword, yet for some reason she did not get the feeling that she was in danger.
''Marisa, isn't it?'' Raven 's eyes narrowed as she was ready to counter if the girl attacked.

''Hee hee hee...' Marisa smiled as she carried on slowly turning while dangling from the ropes.
''Marisa so happy you remember her name.'' The girl caused the rope to swing as she let go, landing just behind Annie.
With her back to the two she raised her metal arm up to her mouth as she started to lick it with her tounge.
''Captain surprise you not die from Oshima and Razar...'' Her head slowly turned as she looked over her shoulder at the two.
''Marisa go teach them lesson now.''

The girl crouched down for a second before pushing of the ground with her arm, sending her back up into the ship's rigging where she disappeared out of sight.
''So is that it?'' Raven said, ''We survived for three minuets and so we get to live?''

''It's not as simple as that..'' A voice came from behind the two girls, a voice that sounded wise yet as old as time.
Raven turned around in shock, she did not like it when people sneak up on her.
She found herself looking at the same old man who had stopped the fighting by holding up the sand timer.

''You past one of Cularmati's more simple tests.'' The man removed what at first glance looked like a ball and chain.
The silver Moon Stone ball slowly swung in the wind.
''As you have proven your skills against his crew he wishes to face you both in battle.''

Raven took a few steps back, ''What!?'' She shouted,
''Cularmati?'' Raven shook her head as she tried to think of a quick way of the ship.
Looking around the large deck there seemed to be no way of the ship.
Of course there were the odd life boat, but with a ship lined with cannons and a pro sniper aboard the odds of getting away were against them.

The Moon Stone ball shone for a second as the old man moved his hand around.
''Fear not, as Misery's master is far too busy today.'' The old man raised his hand up to the purple cloth that was tied around his eyes.
''Your time has been set, tomorrow at sunrise he will face you.'' The old man removed the cloth from his eyes, the empty sockets stared at the two of them.
''My vision however has never been so blurred....''
He covered his eyes again as he slowly turned and walked away, mumbling to himself unknown words.

Raven placed her hand against the cut on her neck, ''I almost lost my life to that Yafutoma guy, and come tomorrow I'm up against...him?''
As she wondered about what was going to happen tomorrow the large Viking from before approached the two, dropping a large wooden bucket in front of them.
Dirty water splashed the two girls as it landed on the deck, ''Find some mops and make yourselves useful!''
He did not wait for them to reply as he walked away laughing to himself.

''That's the type of guy who all muscle and no brains.'' Raven mocked as she turned to Annie with a smile.
''Look at it this way, we have a whole day, right?'' He words partly joking as she knew they had to get off this ship before sunrise the next day.

~

Oshima slowly walked down the stairs leading to the lower deck, passing one of the crew who was seated half way down the stairs.
''No victory for you then?'' The man asked.
Oshima turned around with his hand already on his katana, ''Oh, it's you.'' He relaxed as he looked away from the man, too ashamed to face him.
''If it was a battle to the end I would of won.'' Oshima went on his way.

The man tilted his hat as he smiled, ''if you had it your way then the captain would be dead and you would be home in Yafutoma.''
''...He lacks the skills for that..'' a second voice came from behind the man with the hat.
''Ah, Razar.'' He stood to greet his friend. ''I did not watch but from what I could hear you must of won another soul?''

Razar's silence answered his question, ''Someone managed to escape your sight it would seem?''
Razar did not answer, he went on his way to the ship's armoury.

The man buckled up his long leather coat and adjusted his hat before sitting back down on the stairs, ''I guess there his problem now..'' He wondered out loud.
A few of the crew walked down the stairs, talking about the battle,
''That little one sure was fast!''
''Yeah, she got away from 'Dead shot' like twice!''
''How about that woman, I would not mind some of that!''
''Never seen a Sword like that, what was it? Green Moon Stone?''

The man raised his head with a look of curiosity in his eyes, ''A sword made from Green Moon Stone?''

As Annie made her way over to where Raven was standing she noticed that the crew seemed to have lost interest in the two of them. With the entertainment now over they all turned and went back to whatever tasks they’d been working on before the fight had broken out.

“Well that was odd.” Raven mirrored Annie’s confusion.

“Yeah. Something sure took the wind out of their sails.” Annie agreed as she limped over to join Raven. “Don’t think it was us though. Some kinda monkey business is going down around here.”

The two women stood there for a few moments, uncertain of what was going on. Were they supposed to be doing something? Was someone else going to talk to them?

'Well there’s no sign of that cargo ship no more.'' Raven sighed. She glanced back over the Misery’s stern but the huge vessel had indeed vanished. What little of it hadn’t been consumed by that device was probably resting in Deep Sky about now.

“Nope.” Annie agreed. She hocked up a mouthful of saliva and spat it over the railing, watching it plummet downward until it was out of sight.

The sight of Raven checking her weapons reminded Annie that she needed to do the same. She took stock of her remaining arsenal and frowned. Annie still had a few grenades left but the ammunition in her machine gun’s clip was nearly gone. A thorough search of all her pockets turned up two more magazines but they were already empty.

“Hell’s bells but no shells.” Annie grumbled to herself. She fumbled with the empty magazines and clumsily dropped one of them. Muttering a quiet expletive Annie stooped to retrieve it and accidentally put too much weight on her wounded leg. She gasped in pain and her hand reflexively fell to massage her injured limb.

''Was that you Annie?'' Raven asked nervously.

“Yeah. But damn….that hurts like a sonuvabitch.” Annie answered. She hadn’t heard the scraping sound Raven had so she just assumed the Black Pirate was talking to her. She assumed wrong.

As Annie stood up straight again she came face to face with the psychotic girl with the mechanical arm she’d who’d tried to kill them both aboard the cargo ship. “You still alive?” She giggled as she hung suspended between the two of them from a length of rope.

“Pfft, I wouldn’t die even if you killed me.” Annie snorted. She placed the tip of her finger on Marisa’s forehead and poked her, causing the Misery’s first mate to sway back and forth. She and the captain began exchanging words, which Annie found odd. It was almost as if Marisa was happy that they had survived.

''Captain surprise you not die from Oshima and Razar...'' Marisa continued as she dropped down to the deck. ''Marisa go teach them lesson now.''

Annie wouldn’t admit it but she was a little surprised herself. First Marisa with her freaky metal arm and then that sniper. It seemed to her that the Misery was crewed by a whole slew of strong fighters. Annie almost felt bad for two of them right now. Whatever lesson Marisa was about to teach them would probably involve an ass-load of pain.

'So is that it? We survived for three minuets and so we get to live?” Raven wondered aloud. Annie could only shrug. She was just as clueless as Raven was.

As if summoned by her voice the old man from earlier appeared on deck to explain their situation. In a nutshell they’d just had their warm-up round. Tomorrow morning would be the main event; an all-out brawl against the ship’s captain. This news seemed to upset Raven a great deal. Annie recalled glimpsing the captain when they’d first arrived and she knew then and there that they were in for a hard fight come sunrise.

“Hey, don’t worry ‘bout it boss lady.” Annie tried to encourage Raven. “It’ll be a two-on-one fight this time. We’ll mop the deck with that old geezer and then you’ll have a brand new ship.”

Speaking of mopping, that was when that big Viking approached them and ordered them to swab the decks. Raven made a joke about him being a musclehead but Annie could tell she was nervous. She glanced down at the two buckets filled with dirty water and then back up at the Viking as he walked away.

“Well, you heard ‘em. Said to go find some mops right?” Annie asked with a clever glint in her eye. “Might have to check out the whole ship before we find some though. So what do ya think? Wanna go check this tub out with me?”

“Well, you heard ‘em. Said to go find some mops right?” Annie had suggested with a slight look of mischief on her face.
Raven grinned back at the girl, she knew Annie might cause trouble or even start another fight.
Yet Raven did not mind, she was up for anything to get her mind off what was going to happen tomorrow morning.

''Well we have another day to life.'' Raven told Annie as she bent down to her height,
''When the time comes I'm taking as many of them with me as I can.'' She mocked, not knowing if she herself was joking.

Raven then stood up and placed her hands against her hips, she looked around for a moment thinking were the best place to start looking would be.
The two of them where on the First deck of the Misery. Raven glanced up towards the back of the ship,
''Two, three...Four?'' She counted, taking note that the outside of the ship had four outer decks, each one higher than the last.
The very top one where they had both caught a glimpse of the Captain not too long ago did not have a stair way like the others.
This was a good thing as that was the last place Raven wanted to visit right now.

''This ship gives me the creeps.'' Raven told Annie as she looked up, over head where eight giant bone like claws that looked as if they were closing in on the ship.
''Think that's real?'' She asked Annie as she soon spotted more bones scattered around the ship, each part being used where normally wood would of been.

The Black Pirate then turned her attention to Annie's leg,
''Maybe we should find the ships medic....if they have one.''

~

''Not your day is it?'' Oshima mocked Razar as he sat down opposite him.
The Samurai helped himself to a drink as Razar checked over his rifle.

''You just can't seem to hit her dead on, can you?''
Oshima smirked s he raised his mug.

Razar took the sight off his rifle had looked over the red Moon Stone which he used.
Taking out a clean cloth he rubbed the Stone, ''This is far from over.''

''Oh really?'' Oshima knew Razar was not one to joke around.
''I can't see how, tomorrow she will face Cularmati.'' The Samurai put his mug down.
''He will kill her, dead and simple.''

Oshima looked around the room to make sure the two of them were alone,
''And after the fight it might be my chance to get my blade in there.''

There was a moment of silence, It was no secret to the crew that Oshima wanted nothing more than to kill his captain.
The soul reason he was a member of the crew was to face Cularmati.

''You don't think I can do it?'' Oshima got annoyed with Razar's silence, knowing that he was judging him without a word.

Razar did not take any notice of Oshima's outrage as something else had caught his attention,
''Did you not have a drink just now?''

The samurai looked down at the table, his mug had gone missing.
The two sat their looking at the empty table for a moment, then just as Oshima was about to open his mouth they both turned their heads towards a sound from the corner of the room.
On the floor was the mug, coming to a stop as it would seem that it had been rolled there.

The two of them turned their head's at the same to time the direction the mug would of been rolled from.
''....'' Razar stood up and took a hold of his rifle as Oshima took out his katana.
What the two saw was a message on the wall, written in fresh blood.
''Losers need lesson.''

''This ship gives me the creeps.'' Raven shuddered as she looked around the Misery's deck.

"I dunno. All the bones and skulls and stuff seem pretty cool to me." Annie admitted. "If I had a ship of my own I'd probably do the same thing. Maybe paint some flames on the side too..." She trailed off as she tried to picture how her fantasy ship would look.

"Think that's real?" Raven asked, drawing Annie's attention back to their grim reality.

Annie began to walk towards the railing where one particular section of the wood had been replaced by what appeared to be human arm bones. "Yeah, looks real. Maybe..." Her words became a gasp of pain when she shifted her weight onto her injured leg.

''Maybe we should find the ships medic....if they have one.'' Raven suggested helpfully.

"Nah, it's just a flesh wound." Annie waved off her concerns. Then she thought better of her situation. "But if we come across one I'll pay 'em a visit. Wouldn't want to go fallin' down when we start putting boots to asses tomorrow." She said with a grin.

Too proud to lean on Raven's shoulder for support Annie hobbled down the stairs that led into the bowels of the Misery.

(OOC - I'll let Daioh describe what we find belowdeck since the Misery is his ship. I'll just skip ahead to when we enter the infirmary.)

~

After wandering about the Misery's interior for a while the pain in Annie's leg began to annoy her. "Where the Hell is that damned infirmary? Does this ship even have one?" She grumbled, repeating Raven's previous theory that there was no such place aboard. It wasn't hard to imagine Cularmati allowing his crew to tend to their own wounds or suffer from them. Such a person would have no need of an infirmary.

As they walked through one narrow corridor they met with a member of the crew who was going about his daily chores. "Let's ask this guy for directions." Annie said to Raven. Then, with a harsh bark she addressed the approaching pirate. "Hey you! Which way is the infirmary?"

The pirate raised an eyebrow and let out a snort of derision. "Infirmary? What? You got a boo-boo? Go and find yourself some bandages and deal with it." He laughed at the two women as he shoved past them and continued on his way.

In a flash Annie grabbed the pirate as he passed and shoved him up against the wall. Before he even realized he was being attacked the point of Annie's knife was poking him painfully in the crotch. "Listen buck-o, I've had a real bad day and I'm not in the mood for your sass-back. You can either tell us where the infirmary is or....." She gave the knife a twist causing the pirate to yelp in pain. "....we can send you there and follow you. Now, what'll it be?"

"T...t...that way!" The pirate stammered nervously. "Down the hall....hang a left and...ow...go up the stairs. It's the first door on the right."

"Hang a left, stairs and.....uh, Raven? You get all that?" Annie scratched her head in confusion as she released her prisoner. The pirate bolted away from her, clutching his testicles protectively. With a shrug Annie continued down the hall.

~

"Guess this is it." Annie scowled at the door to the infirmary after having such difficulty in finding it. "It doesn't look like it though." She added after examining the ordinary looking portal. She'd been expecting a big red cross painted on it or the word "doctor" scrawled across it somewhere.

"Well, whatever." Annie snorted as she barged into the office. Her eyes swept the room and she let out a low whistle. "Wow, what a crap-shack. Did that jack wagon give us the wrong directions or what?"

The room didn't look at all like a proper medical facility should. Judging from its appearance it seemed more like a prison cell than anything else. "Complete with prisoner." Annie said to herself when her eyes lit upon the young woman who occupied the room.

The girl had long blonde hair and a forlorn look on her face. The reason behind her obvious unhappiness was obvious. She was tethered to the wall by a length of heavy iron chain. Annie looked her up and down and then opened her mouth to speak the only words that came to mind at the time.

"Hey sister, can you tell us where the infirmary is?"

Audrey sat quietly in her 'room' feeling a bit sorry for herself. Being a prisoner wasn't something that she had ever wanted to be in her life but when Cularmati had captured her, that was just what she had become. She spent most of her time chained to the wall of the room serving as the Misery's impromptu and coerced ship doctor.

She wished very much so to get away but felt that it was suicide to try anything. However having her room and her life was due to the words of the Yafutoman samurai Oshima so she did feel a certain amount of debt to him for what she assumed was a form of kindness. For the most part however, all the other crew mates terrified her like living nightmares.

She had heard of plans on attacking a ship and had heard some sounds of violence up on the deck but due to the relative silence following afterward she had assumed that whatever had caused it was dead and well on it's way to Deep Sky. It was this assumption that caused her to jump in alarm as two complete, and alive, strangers walked into the room looking it over.

The shorter of the two carrying what seemed to be machine gun looked at her asking "Hey sister, can you tell us where the infirmary is?" Audrey just stared at her for a moment feeling dumbstruck before speaking up in a soft voice, "Th-this ship doesn't have one n-normally... but I am the Misery's current nurse... of sorts. Do you need help?"

Raven followed Annie as she hobbled down the stairs, both were given strange looks from the crew who were working below deck.
''Money on the short one living the longest.'' One man whispered to another.

The whole ship had a creepy feeling to it, the feeling that you knew many people had lost their lives while sailing under the command of the Black Pirate.
This was also noticeable from the many walls build from the ground up from human bone.
''Surly wood would be cheaper?'' Raven muttered to herself.
''Then again I wouldn't want to be on his bad side if this is what he does....'' Raven's thoughts were cut sort as she peered into the distance.

Light outside yet below deck it felt like an eternal night, the flicker of candles were the only source of light.
Raven looked on into the distance as she could make out a strange shadow, is if someone was standing around the corner just out of sight.
There were many crew members around yet this one caused Raven to stop in her tracks for a second.

The head of the shadow looked up from it's downwards position just as it turned and moved around the corner out of sight.
''There are a few odd crew members here, don't you think so?'' Raven mentioned as she caught up with Annie.

~
''What are you doing down here!?'' The large Viking shouted out as he almost walked into a man who's identity was hidden within his long leather coat and hat.
''Victor, a pleasure as always.'' He mystery man mocked.

Victor spat against the wall, ''You should not be down here, spying on the crew again are you Wellwood?''
Wellwood tilted his hat and smiled, ''Just the knew ones.''

''Captain wants you to clean up, Marisa has been busy again.'' Victor grinned before turning away.

''No problem, I always get the clean ups around here anyway.'' Wellwood's words fell on death ears.
''She has a nice hat.'' A smile formed across his face.

"Hang a left, stairs and.....uh, Raven? You get all that?" Annie asked as the pirate made a dash for it.
She had just 'asked' for some directions the 'Annie' way.

Raven's shrug was almost in time with Annie's as the two wondered down the hall.
They soon came to a door which at first glance seemed like an old storage room.
The two of them had doubts that this was the place, after all there were no signs or even a red cross.

Annie opened the door and entered with Raven right behind her.
"Wow, what a crap-shack. Did that jack wagon give us the wrong directions or what?" Annie let out.
''It has the smell to match too.'' Raven waved her hand in front of her face.

The two then noticed that the room was not as empty as they first thought.
With them was another girl, a prisoner. She was tethered to the wall by a large and heavy looking iorn chain.
It was clear that she was not there by choice, yet the fact she was there and still alive was odd indeed.
Raven knew the stories of the Misery, that only the strong get to live so that the captain may oneday find that which he longs for.

From first glance the girl in no way looked to be the fighting type, in fact she did not even look like she was a pirate.
Raven then noticed that Annie's leg was looking alot worse for ware,
''Hey Annie, you really need that looking at!''

"Hey sister, can you tell us where the infirmary is?" Annie asked the girl.

"Th-this ship doesn't have one n-normally... but
I am the Misery's current nurse... of sorts. Do you need help?" The girl replied.

~

Oshima stumbled down the stairway below deck, the trail of blood followed down each step.
''She got me good...'' He told himself as he held his left arm.

Another trail of blood started to follow Oshima's as another crew member followed him below deck.
''.......she....''' Razar whispered almost to himself'
''......bit me.....!'' He held his hand against his leg were Marisa had torn away at his clothes.

''Having an infirmary doesn't seem so bad now does it, Razar?'' Oshima mocked as the two made their way down the hall.

"Guess this'll have to do." Annie sighed as she hobbled over to a small, dirty cot that was one of the only pieces of furniture in the room and sat down. She hiked up the hem of her skirt to let Audrey inspect her wound. "That's gonna leave a honey of a scar unless you know magic kid." Annie frowned when she took a closer look at the bullet hole.

As the girl tended to her Annie couldn't help but ask the obvious questions one would think to ask in a situation like this. "I'm guessin' you ain't a part of this crew. Ya look to prim and proper to be one o' their ilk." She began, cutting right to the chase without bothering to beat around the bush. "So uh....how'd a fancy lass such as yerself wind up aboard this floating boneyard?"

Annie listened to what the girl had to say, glancing every now and then towards Raven. It was a no-brainer that she was a prisoner and probably wanted to escape the Misery just as much as they did. But Annie wondered if Raven would be willing to take the risk of helping her.

The girl had done Annie a good turn though, healing her wounds and all, and that was a good enough reason to set her free. It wasn't that Annie was a saint or a hero or anything like that. She was just the sort of person who always settled their debts. Whether that meant helping someone out of a jam or tracking them relentlessly across Arcadia and then shooting them full of holes all depended on the situation.

"Annie." Annie introduced herself, thumping herself across the chest as if she were speaking to someone who didn't understand the language. Then she pointed over towards Raven. "And that's uh.......my friend......the....captain....." She trailed off when she realized she'd forgotten the Black Pirate's name.

It was while the girls were making polite chit-chat that the door opened......

Annie's eyes widened in surprise and her jaw dropped open. She raised a finger to point towards the two men who were coming into the room to join them. Oshima and Razar, the very people who had been trying to kill her and Raven earlier, had suddenly appeared right in front of them.

Annie's expression was mirrored on their faces, well upon Oshima's face, when they realized they were in the presence of the two women. Whether or not Razar was gawking too was a mystery concealed behind his bandanna and goggles.

Unfortunately to the two Misery crewmen Annie's shock wore off first. Her wide, staring eyes narrowed into angry slits and her jaw clamped shut in a grimace. It opened a second later to allow a string of obscenities to spill out.

"You! I'mma @#$& you up you flaming sack of monkey crap!" Annie screamed as she launched herself off of the bed, seeking to tackle Oshima. Her leg was stiff from the girl's treatment though, and she only managed one tottering step before it gave out and she fell to the floor.

Still, Annie was determined to inflict some serious hurt on Oshima and Razar. She scuttled across the floor and seized the Yafutoman by the ankle. With no other weapon handy at the moment Annie opened her mouth and sank her teeth into him.

"Mmfa muffer sumfin biff!" Annie tried to curse at Oshima while biting him at the same time. He shook his leg feverishly in hopes of dislodging her but Annie held on for all she was worth. Their absurd dance continued like this for several seconds.
