Still feeling tipsy and not totally sure what was going on Annie followed the captain and the two stowaways up to the top deck. It seemed as if they were leaving the ship for some reason, as they clambered aboard a liferaft and were set adrift into the evening skies.

Annie didn't realize that the merchant and his monstrous cohort hadn't left of their own free will but she was too drunk to care. And by morning Annie wouldn't even remember meeting the two of them anyway.

~

Night was falling and Raven ordered all of the crew (at gunpoint) to go to bed. Annie had passed out earlier so she wasn't feeling all that tired. Instead she decided to stay on deck and clear her head for a little while.

"Huh? Were those here before?" Annie muttered, staring at the cannons that now lined the gunwales. She didn't recall seeing them earlier and yet Annie had vague memories of firing at pirates in liferafts earlier today with big guns just like those.

"Oh yeah, that's what I was doing." Annie smirked. She dashed to the railing and scanned the skies carefully. The lifeboat that the merchant and FRANK had left aboard was still in sight and probably within the range of the cannons.

Annie crouched down next to one of the big guns and sighted along its barrel. "Distance....250. Wind from the northeast. Preparing to fire skipper!" Annie said to no one in particular as she withdrew the lighter from her pocket and lit the cannon's fuse. She plugged her ears shut in anticipation of the explosion that was to come.

The fuse burned down quickly but nothing else happened. "What the hell? No ammo?" Annie fumed as she tilted the cannon up and peered down its barrel. "THIS IS BULL$#&@!" She screamed, glaring into the distance as the merchant and FRANK sailed off into the sunset.

Annie was furious now. A string of obscenities fell from her lips as she raised her foot and stomped down on the cannon. In response the heavy weapon swung upward on its mount, striking Annie across the temple, and dropping her unconscious to the deck.

"Aaaahhhh......" Annie gasped just before she hit the deck. It seemed that whether she liked it or not she'd be obeying the captain's orders to get a good night's sleep after all.

Mick walked over and tapped Alex on his back,
''Is she asleep?'' He asked looking over at Raven.

Alex turned to have a look for himself,
''I wouldn't count on it.''

Mick looked confused for a moment, he was almost sure she was asleep.
He turned to face Raven just incase he was mistaken.
There she was still sitting in her chair with her hat over her face, yet something was different from the last time he looked only a few seconds ago.
Mick quickly dashed back to the carts as he realized that Raven was now pointing her pistol at him.

''How did she know?'' Mick whispered over to Alex who did not bother to reply to him.
He was too busy focusing on where he was going in the night sky.

''What was THAT!?'' Mick then shouted out, causing both Alex and Raven to jump.
''What was what?!'' Raven called out as she got up and walked over to the two.

''Probably nothing, it's all this thick fog.'' Alex told the Pirate and Mick sat back down.
''I'm sure I saw something...'' Mick told himself.

Raven wondered over to the windows, ''I don't like this.'' She placed her hand against the window.
''There should not be any fog around here, even at night.''

~

''Haha, you missed it!'' Axel laughed out as he looked for Bam.
''That crazy little girl just knocked herself out cold!''

Axel did not take long to locate Bam who was sitting down against one of the large crates, his eyes closed and a half empty bottle of loqua in his hands.
''Oi, get up!'' Axel kicked Bam in the sides.
''I'm not doing the night watch on my own, especially in this fog!''

Bam opened his eyes as he dropped the bottle which rolled away into the fog.
''No need to kick me, I'm up.'' He did not even stand.

''Your so lazy!'' Axel kicked him again but Bam was not getting up.
''I'll watch this area.'' Bam shook his hand in the air with no energy at all.

Just then the two heard a shattering sound, the bottle that rolled away had been smashed.
''That did not roll fast enough to smash like that!'' Axel said as he turned towards the direction of the sound.
''You wait here Bam.''

''No problem...'' Bam replied as he rested his eyes once more.

Axel wondered down the deck in the thick fog looking for the bottle which he soon came across.
It was in the middle of the floor, shattered.
Axel looked around but could not see anyone who might of stepped on it.
''Darn crew should all be asleep by now!'' He called out into the night.

The large man was about to turn and head back to Bam when another sound caught his attention.
The unmistakable sound of metal scraping metal.
''What the hell...?'' He wondered out loud as he moved around the crates, using them as a way to see in the dark.
''Whose there!'' He called into the night as he saw a small dark shadow dash up the side of a crate.

He moved along still using his hands against the crate to see.
''Ouch!'' Axel shouted as he cut his hand on the metal crate.
He moved away from it as the moon's light caught the crate.

''What..the?'' Axel could not understand what he was looking at.
It was as if some creature had clawed it's way into the metal crate, but lucky for him it had long gone.

''Bam!'' He rushed back to his fellow pirate.

~

''That Axel, he needs to lighten up a little.'' Bam mumbled to himself as he started to fall asleep again.
The fog did not bother him much as he was too tired,
''Stupid Raven shot me, stupid little girl made it worse...'' He muttered,
''Red light wont let me sleep.......red light?''

Bam opened one eye and looked down at the floor.
There before his eyes was a small red circle slowly moving towards him.
He placed his hand on the floor as the light moved onto his hand.
''Well I never?'' He said in surprise, moving his hand around while the light stayed in sight.
It moved up his arm and towards his head,
''Hey Axel, you won't believe this!'' He shouted into the darkness, ''Some kind of glowing bug or something?''

The circle moved up between Bam's head, the pirate still not knowing that he should of got up and ran a long time ago.

~

Axel came around the last crate where Bam was sitting but just before he was in sight he heard a loud shot.
It stopped him in his tracks for a second only as it confused him.
The shot sounded like it was close, yet it was far. He was not into pistols yet he knew what they sounded like and this one did not sound right at all.

''Bam, I think...'' Axel stopped, Bam was laying on the deck in a pool of his own blood.
A single bullet hole in the middle of his head.

Just as Axel was about to shout he felt as if someone was right behind him.
''Show yourself!'' He shouted as he spun around to meet nothing but darkness.

''She wants to play....'' A soft voice came from behind Axel,
''and she wants to play with you!''

Axel could feel the cold breath of someone standing right behind him.
He turned around as fast as he could so not to lose sight of whoever it was this time.
He came face to face with a dark silhouette with bright red eyes.
''Time to play.'' The shadow grinned.

~

Raven, Alex and Mick all jumped up from their seats as a loud scream could be heard all over the ship.
The Black Pirate ran to the window and looked out over the deck.
Light from the moon shone at random over the deck.

Raven was just in time to see Axel out on deck as he fell over into a pool of blood.
''Alert the crew!'' Raven said calmly.

''What is it?'' Mick asked
''ALERT THE BLOODY CREW!!!'' Raven screamed.

~

A large plank of wood fell and smashed onto the side of the cargo ship as a group of men ran onto the ship, each with his sword at the ready.
They were quickly followed by a man in a deep red and brown cloak who was carrying a long custom weapon with a glowing red Moon Stone.
''.......'' The man looked around the deck as the group of men stood around him.

He reached inside his cloak and pulled out a small scrap of paper.
''A container on this ship holes a vast amount of Moon Stone fuel, find it!'' Were his only words to the men.

The group started to shout and run around the ship, all looking for what they had come for.
The cloaked man stayed standing at the plank of wood as he prepared his long rifle.

A scurrying sound moved across the deck towards him.
''She did well, she likes the blood hehe.'' A voice came from the person on all fours, covered in the blood of Axel.

The cloaked man stood and looked down at the girl, ''.........''
''Marisa find captain and play.'' The girl said as she scurried back into the darkness.

"Hey, now. What's this?" One of the Misery's crewmen, a man with a scraggly beard and bad breath, asked his fellows as they came upon Annie's fallen form.

Another man, this one having dusky black skin and a gold tooth, smiled down at the young girl lying on the deck. "Looks like booty worth the plunder to me." He laughed.

"You so nasty." The first man grinned. "But....out here? On the open deck? I dunno. I feel.....exposed."

The man with the gold tooth laughed at his fellow crewman at this. "Yeah, if I was as ugly as you I wouldn't want nobody seein' me drop my pants either."

"Shut up! Just grab her feet and let's take her inside." The bearded man growled.

"Yeah yeah, besides I don't feel like sharing this bit of fluff anyway." Gold Tooth agreed as he took hold of Annie's ankles and helped to hoist her off of the deck.

~

".....then I'll hold her for you." A strange and obnoxious voice cut through the fog that enshrouded Annie's brain. She struggled to sit up and immediately winced as a wave of pain washed across her skull. Her hand rose up to feel the lump that had formed on her forehead, realizing that the pain was emanating from there.

"Uhhh...what the..." Annie moaned, catching the attention of whoever had been speaking a moment ago.

"Oh hey, you're awake." Beard Man said, turning his attention to Annie. "That's good. Wouldn't want you to miss out on the fun."

“Fun? What’d I miss?” Annie groaned. Wary of the pain in her head she craned her neck back and forth, taking stock of her surroundings. It looked as if she were lying atop a small table in a cramped room. There were cleaning supplies scattered across the floor and a couple of mops propped up in one corner. Obviously she was in a janitor’s closet somewhere.

In a janitor’s closet with two sketchy looking men who were eyeing her up right now.

“Nothin’ yet. You’re just in time for the show.” Gold Tooth smiled, his tooth catching the light of the single light bulb that hung overhead, illuminating the room. He walked closer to Annie, running his hand along her ankle and then toying with the hem of her skirt.

“Oh I get it. You boys are lookin’ for a little hanky-panky. Is that it?” Annie smiled invitingly at him. She reached out and tickled Beard Man under the chin with one finger. “Well, come a little closer. I’ve got somethin’ for ya both.”

~

One of Cularmati’s men was walking past the janitor’s closet, a bottle of wine in his hand, when a cacophony of sound erupted from behind the door. Loud cries of pain, crashes and thumps and the angry sounds of a woman yelling broke out, causing the pirate to drop his drink in surprise and draw his sword.

The pirate stood nervously outside the door, waiting for someone to emerge. The sounds began to die down and the pirate tensed, ready to strike. Suddenly the door swung open and struck him in the face. The pirate was sent sprawling to the deck as Annie stepped out. She was breathing heavily, her survival knife in one hand and a broken table leg in the other. Behind her, lying in a heap on the closet floor, were the two bodies of the pirates who had only moments before been attempting to molest her.

“Clearly your SHIT IS RUINED!” Annie screamed back at the two men. “Aaaaaand don’t you forget it!”

With her escape as good as made Annie decided to go and find out just exactly what the crap was going on around here.

~

Annie crept along the deck, staying between two rows of shipping crates to keep herself out of sight. She peered through a crack between two of them at the men who were wandering the deck on the other side. “They ain’t the crew.” Annie observed. Even without their gaudy purple monkey suits she could tell that lot of slackers apart from the cutthroats who had taken their place while she was out cold.

Moving on Annie was making her way towards the bridge as quietly as possible when something on the side of one of the crates caught her attention. It was a glowing red dot and it was sliding towards her. Unlike Bam Annie recognized the threat instantly. “Oh hell!” She gasped, throwing herself to the deck. A split second later a shot rang out and sparks flew from the side of the metal crate.

Now under fire from an unseen sniper Annie leapt to her feet and dashed down the narrow corridor between the crates. A second shot rang out and the sound of a ricochet sounded behind her like a bell. It was followed swiftly by a third, this one aimed just in front of her. Annie ground to a halt, her eyes dazzled by the sparks that flew from the impact of metal against metal.

Annie dropped to her belly as a bullet whizzed over her head so close that she could feel the breeze of its passing. “Of all the times to be caught without my gun!” She grumbled while slithering across the deck on her stomach. From this angle the gunman couldn’t see her. At least she hoped not.

Reaching the end of the row of crates Annie rose into a crouch and glanced this way and that, searching for anyone nearby. There was a trio of pirates a short distance away who appeared to be searching for whomever the gunman was shooting at. Annie smiled a cold-blooded smile.

Leaping into action she dashed straight into their midst. She grabbed one man around the neck, using him as a human shield. Sure enough his body trembled as the sniper’s bullets struck him in the chest. Annie planted her foot on the dying man’s back and roughly kicked him into one of his cohorts. They both fell to the deck. The second man was pinned beneath the dead weight of the first.

Annie knew she only had a few seconds before the sniper assessed the situation and reacquired his target. She could tell that whoever he was, he was a pro. But would he make the mistake of shooting one of his own again? To test that theory Annie maneuvered herself behind the third pirate, keeping him in the sniper’s line of sight.

The pirate lashed out at her with a long-bladed dirk. Annie back-stepped, avoiding the blow while slashing at his extended arm with her own knife. He howled in pain and dropped his weapon. A moment later and his eyes went dull and he dropped to his knees. The echo of a gunshot still rang across the deck.

“Geez, and they say I’m heartless!” Annie squealed, finding herself back in the sniper’s sights. Apparently he had no qualms with shooting a fellow pirate. Annie juked to the side and made a mad dash for the nearest entrance. A door leading belowdeck was just ahead. Would she be able to make it?

~

A bullet tore through the hem of Annie’s dress as she leapt towards the door, rolling head over heels across the deck. She came to a stop in a crouch, avoiding another shot that streaked over her head to strike the door. By now Annie had the gunman’s timing down. She wasn’t the sharpest sword on the rack but she knew a lot about guns. Annie had been keeping count and could estimate about how long it took him to chamber another round and fire. Now was her chance!

Springing to her feet she raced towards the door, snatching it open. “3…2…1…” Annie gasped as she pressed herself against the wall, pulling the door in front of her a second before it shuddered under a second impact. “4….3…2…” Annie began the countdown again. She scrambled out from behind the door and leapt into the room, pulling it closed behind her. “1” She breathed into the silence of the empty room. No further gunfire could be heard from the deck behind her.

“I’ll have to remember that guy for later.” Annie sighed. She slouched down against the wall to catch her breath. “But first I better get strapped. Where’d I leave my gun?”

Plumbing the depths of her hazy memory Annie remembered that the last place she’d had her machinegun was on the bridge. The captain was probably there as well. She’d know what was going on.

Pushing away from the wall Annie squared her shoulders and set off towards the bridge.

Razar did not bother to reload his next shot as the girl was out of sight.
He pointed his rifle to the ground as he looked around for any more crew members who happened to be around.

''I know that look.'' Came a voice from behind the sniper.
Razar turned his head ever so slightly to look, as if he already knew who was behind him.
There stood a proud looking samurai, arms crossed over his chest armor and with a smug look on his face.
''Can't hit them all you know.'' He said with a grin.

Razar's attention went back to his rifle as he started to reload it.
The Samurai looking down at Razar from the rail he was standing on,
''Don't give me that silence, you think I can't take these guys on?''

Razar pointed his rifle into the distance and pulled the trigger.
A scream could be heard as a man dressed in purple fell from a crate onto the deck.
''......your skills Oshima, are not to be wasted..'' Razar muttered under his breath.

''Ha, I guess your right! These low lives would be a waste of my time.'' Oshima called out as he turned and vanished back into the night.

~

Mick bust out from the Bridge and darted down the stair way towards the crew's quarters.
''Hey everyone!'' He shouted as he came closer to the hall way which housed the crew rooms.
''We're under attack! Get on Deck!'' He banned on the first door as hard as he could in order to wake the crew.

''We're......'' The door slowly creaked open as Mick moved his hands away.
He could feel something wet on his hand as he let go of the door.

As he looked down his eyes widened as he realized his hand and the door was covered in blood.
Mick's eyes slowly moved up to look down the hall, seeing that each of the doors had their own fair share of blood, along with huge claw marks across them all.

''Who's that knocking at my door....'' Came a soft girly voice from above.
Mick looked up to see a pair of red eyes staring back at him as he let out a scream.
He turned to run but slipped over in the blood which turned out to be lucky for him as Marisa's claw arm sliced just above his head.

Quickly thinking, which is rare for Mick, he stayed down and faked his own death.
Marisa did not even bother to check him as she had her eyes locked on the stairs up to the bridge.
She slowly dug her claws into the wall as she went out of sight.

~

Raven and Alex did not realize the door to the bridge was open as they were both now looking out over the deck.
''Who would dare attack me!'' Raven shouted at Alex as she slammed her fists down against one of the desks.
''My colours are flying, there clear as day!'' She pointed towards the flag she had put up the second she took over the ship.
''I am the Raven Claw!!'' She shouted as she slashed the desk in half with her sword.
Alex backed away a little.

Raven was about to walk out of the bridge and join in the fight when Alex called out,
''What's that!'' With a panic in his voice.

''What's what!?'' Raven screamed as she turned around, looking in the direction of were Alex was now pointing out of the window.
The fog was starting to clear as the light from the moon moved across the deck and highlighted the side of a huge skull that was facing the Cargo ship.

''It can't be....'' Raven said as her sword fell from her hand.
The light moved up as if on cue to show the ships flag.
''The Misery...'' Raven's voice was the quietist it had ever been.

''What!'' Alex shouted in shock,
''Isn't The Misery just a myth?''

Raven stood in shock yet her fists were starting to shake with rage.
''No one takes over my ship...''

Annie peered cautiously around a corner as she made her way to the bridge. Although it was clear she noted the sound of voices speaking softly coming from somewhere just up ahead. Sidling into the corridor she made her way up to the next turn and waited, listening quietly.

".....were part of Raven's crew." One of the voices was saying.

"Can't be. Why would they attack us after we joined her then?" A second one countered.

"I'm not sure but I'm not waiting around to find out." The first one answered. "C'mon, let's get out of here. If we can make it to the lifeboats...."

At this point Annie stepped around the corner to confront the two men, scaring them very badly in the process. “Oh no, HELL no!” She yelled at them. “Nobody abandons ship ‘til I say so! Now quit your whining and let’s all go to the bridge. We’ll ask Captain What’s-Her-Face what’s going down around here!”

The two men, still dressed in their purple uniforms, looked at one another and nodded. “Well….I still want to leave but we should probably do what she says.” One of them said nervously.

“Yeah. Probably safer going with her anyway.” The second added his thoughts.

“Damn straight.” Annie snorted, tapping her foot impatiently. “Now if you’re done with all your pants-wetting and belly-aching, let’s GO!”

~

As the trio crept towards the bridge the two crewmen did their best to blow their cover by pelting Annie with annoying questions. “So like…are these pirates really part of Raven’s crew or what?” The first one asked.

“Nope.” Annie replied.

“Well if they’re not with Raven then who are they?” The second one’s question came on the heels of the first.

“Dunno.” Anne answered.

The two sailors looked at one another and sighed. “Well then what are we gonna do?” One of them asked irritably.

“If you don’t shut the hell up I’m gonna put my foot so far up your ass you’ll be able to tie my boot laces with your teeth!” Annie turned around to yell at the two men.

With double sighs the two crewmen quieted down and continued to follow Annie to wherever she was leading them. Neither of them wanted to point out that her outburst had been much louder than their questioning. Nor did they want to tell her that her boots didn’t have laces.

~

The door to the bridge flew open as Annie stormed in once again. “Hey boss lady! I’m back and I brought you some cannon fodder!” She said cheerfully, waving towards the two crewmen who followed her in.

“Cannon fodder?” One of them arched an eyebrow.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” The second gasped at the implication.

Annie glanced over her shoulder at the two and smiled. “You know, guys like you are handy to have around just in case any violent sociopaths happen to show up.”

The two crewmen looked at one another and frowned. Their hopes for the future seemed bleak now for some reason. But Annie had ceased to give a crap about them. She was too busy looking for her machinegun.

“Oh, there it is.” Annie said, spotting her weapon lying under the table close to where she’d passed out earlier. She stooped down to retrieve it, hugging it to her chest. “Did you miss me baby?” She cooed. “Don’t be afraid, mama’s here now.”

''What's that?!'' Someone yelled in surprise, startling Annie and making her jump. She bumped her head on the table above and winced.

''What's what!?'' Raven asked as Annie rose to her feet, rubbing the top of her head. Another bump was starting to rise there.

Annie turned to look at whatever had upset the two. Outside the window she could see that a second ship had pulled up alongside theirs. The bow of the ship had the shape of a giant skull. Annie decided that, all in all, it was pretty cool looking. She kept staring at it though, trying to determine what had freaked Raven and Alex out so badly. After a few seconds she gave up.

“Well, what the hell IS it?” She added a third question to the line-up.

“It can’t be….” Raven gasped as she continued to stare at the ship.

“Can’t be what?” Annie persisted.

“The Misery…” Raven whispered, causing Annie to strain her ears to hear.

“The who?” She asked, confused.

“What?” Alex shouted. “Isn’t the Misery just a myth?”

“Huh?’’ Annie cocked her head to one side.

“No one takes over my ship…” Raven growled, her hands clenching into fists.

“Um…who is?” Annie sighed. “Somebody throw me a friggin’ bone here!”

Raven slowly picked up her sword as she used her empty hand to check her belt.
The pistol was loaded and her secret weapon was also ready.

''Myth or not.'' She muttered to herself, ''He is still human.''
Raven turned and dashed out of the door, almost knocking Mick over who had just made his way back up to the bridge.
''Woah!'' He called out as he almost slipped over again, the front of his cloths drenched in blood.

“Somebody throw me a friggin’ bone here!” Annie sighed.

''The Misery..'' Alex explained,
''...It's a Black Pirate ship that is said to of come from Deep Sky. Captained by a man so evil that even Death stays out of the way of his blade.''

Mick wondered slowly into the room while cleaning up the blood from his uniform.
''What happened to you!?'' Alex asked as he noticed Mick coming into view.

''Most of the crew....there dead.'' Mick said, for once sounding serious.
Alex walked over to his friend and placed his arm around his shoulders,
''Look, there is still that lifeboat on the other side of the ship.'' Alex whispered so the others on the bridge did not hear.
''If we can get to it we stand a better chance at survival that staying around here.''

Just as Alex was done talking a strange feeling fell over the room as if there was a new presence among them all.
Suddenly Something dropped from the ceiling onto the ground in front of the door.
It was Marisa who had waited and followed Mick back to the bridge.

''Marisa sad you no play fair!'' She slashed out at Mick taking his left arm clean of from his body.
''Ahhhhh!!'' Mick let out a scream of pain as the arm spun for a second into the air before landing in the middle of the room.

Alex grabbed Mick and rushed under the desk.
Marisa's eyes watched the two before looking at the others in the room.
''She not think you are captains.'' She smiled as she pointed at the other two crew members with her human hand.
She then pointed her metal claws at Annie and grinned, ''You want play with Marisa?'' Her expression was as psychotic as ever.

~

Raven stomped out across the upper deck, placing her hands against the side rail as she looked out across her ship.
The morning sun was slowly coming up, spreading it's light across the deck of the ship.
Her 'crew' that were still alive were putting up a fight against the pirates, yet it was obvious that it was only a matter of time before they all fell to the pirates.

''Where are you!?'' She asked herself as she looked for their Captain.
She could see a group of pirates running across the deck, each carrying a large sack of goods from nearby opened crates.
Some cloaked man was waiting for then, yet he did not seem to be the captain she had heard stories of.

Raven heard a noise while she was looking across the deck, the sound of someone climbing up to her level.
She walked over to the ladder just in time to see one of the pirates climbing up.
Just as he placed his hand on the deck it was crushed under Raven's Boot, ''Where is your Captain!'' She ordered from the man.
He was in too much pain from his hand to answer, which Raven did not have time for as she casually pulled out her pistol and shot the pirate between the causing the pirate to fall back down and land on top of a small group of men.

''Fine, if I can't use this ship then no one will!'' Raven marched back towards the bridge.

~

''We got them! We got them!'' A group of pirates cheered as they made their way back to Razar.
They had found the crate of Moon Stone fuel and bagged the lot up for The Misery.

Razar stepped aside to allow them accesse to the ship as he picked off the last remaining survivors in the distance with his rifle.
As soon as the pirates were back aboard The Misery Razar tossed the scrap of paper away,
''Lucky isn't it, that a list like that flew into our hands.'' Oshima had returned.
He stood on the side rail once more with his hands across his chest, eyes closed as he looked down.
''Captain says that there are no survivors.'' With that the Samurai disappeared once more.

Under Razars cloth was a hidden smile as he loaded his weapon, ''......understood...''.

~

Raven burst onto the bridge with her sword drawn in one hand as her other hand was stretched out high above her head, holding the small device which could set off the Anti ship disintegrator.
''The six of us are getting out of here now! To the lif.....'' She suddenly stopped as Marisa slowly turned her head to look at Raven.
''What the..'' Raven was lost for words as her eyes focused on the girl's metal claws.

Marisa realized that this woman was the captain as she turned her whole body around to face her.
She licked her own lips with excitement as she lifted her metal arm up to her mouth,
''I found you, captain..'' She smirked as she licked the blood from her claws.

''Marisa will make you beg for death!'' She laughed as she leaped at Raven, knocking her over as she landed on top of her.
Marisa pinned Raven down as she pressed her body against the Black Pirate captain, ''You will enjoy death, Marisa make it good.'' Marisa said she she licked the side of Raven's head, leaving a trail of blood.

The shock of this caused Raven to drop the small device onto the ground which caught Marisa's attention.
''Puppet!?'' Marisa called out in shock and she jumped off Raven and picked up the device with her human hand,
''Puppet! Like my puppet, hehe.'' Marisa smiled as she looked back and forth between her own claws and the small box.

''A.S.D?'' She read out loud as she turned her head to look at the group,
''Marisa give you fun time.'' She walked backwards out of the bridge, slamming the door shut.
The quick sound of metal crushing could be heard as she smashed the lock.

Raven took no time at all rushing to open the door, ''Damit! It's locked!'' She kicked the door a few times.
Alex helped Mick up, his shoulder now covered in cloth to stop the bleeding, ''Is there no other way out?''
''Why? were safe in here....right?'' Mick managed to say.

~

Razar was still picking off the odd crew member as he noticed Marisa crawling across the top of crates back to his location.
''.....No survivors, is the captain dead?'' He asked Marisa as she stood up next to him.
She started to grin as she passed Razar the small device, ''Look, puppet just like me.''

Razar took the device, knowing that Marisa means it was created by the same man who once created her arm.
A quick look at the device was all he needed to know it was a detonator for some kind of bomb.

Marisa then jumped the gap between the two ships, using her claws to grab onto the side of The Misery as she scurried into it's deck.
Razar casually walked back across the plank of wood, turning for only a second to point the small box at the large group of crates.
A quick click of the device he then tossed the box into the sky.

~

Raven was watching from the window of the bridge, ''Were not safe here, or any were on this ship!'' She said with the realization that the A.S.D had been activated.
Alex and Mick rushed to the window to see just what Raven was on about.

In the blink of an eye the metal crate that housed the A.S.D vanished like magic.
Then the surrounding crates started to slowly disintegrate along with their contents.

Whatever was going on sure had Raven all hot and bothered. She stormed out of the bridge, sword drawn, heading for Moons-know-where. Annie stayed put and listened to Alex's explanation as to exactly what they were up against.

"A pirate from Deep Sky huh?" Annie smirked, rubbing the stock of her machine gun in anticipation. "Then he won't mind if I toss him overboard."

Annie started towards the door. Now that she was armed she wanted to trade bullets with that sniper who'd given her hell earlier. Instead she came face-to-face with Mick. His clothes were drenched with blood and he looked as if he'd just seen a ghost.

As Alex and Mick talked amongst themselves they were joined by the pair of crewmen who'd accompanied Annie onto the bridge. "All dead? What happened?" One of them asked. Annie left the men to their panic-attack. She had places to go and asses to kick.

Once again Annie's path was blocked, this time by one of the pirates. A disheveled girl with what looked like a mechanical arm suddenly appeared right in front of her. Her eyes glinted with madness and the bloodthirsty grin on her face sent a chill down Annie's spine.

Marisa lunged towards her but Annie fell back, rolling into a crouch, and the girl's claw found Mick instead, cleaving his arm from his body. Alex dragged him to the imagined safety of a nearby desk and the two hunkered down beneath it.

The two crewmen glanced first at Mick’s severed limb and then at one another, silently agreeing to leave the scene of such carnage at take their chances out on the open deck. Now that the doorway was clear they bolted from the room, likely heading for the liferaft Alex and Mick had mentioned earlier.

Now the only two people left standing in the room Marisa turned her attention to Annie. "You want play with Marisa?" The psychotic pirate girl giggled as she pointed Annie out with the tip of one bloodstained claw.

Annie stood up and met her glare. "Sure. I'm all kinds of fun." She answered with a hint of madness in her own voice.

And then Marisa charged.

"Die die die die DIE!" Annie screamed as a barrage of bullets erupted from the barrel of her machine gun, flying towards the oncoming Marisa. They clattered against her metallic arm, sending up sparks. A few rounds slipped past to carve fresh wounds in Marisa's flesh but if she even noticed the pain it didn't seem to bother her.

"Marisa not die! Marisa kill!" Marisa countered as she took a swipe at Annie with her claw. The attack was wild and it put the girl off balance. Annie stepped in, avoiding the deadly claws, and dropped her machine gun. At the same time she grabbed Marisa’s outstretched arm and, using her momentum against her, tossed the pirate girl over her shoulder.

Marisa rolled across the floor and came up in a crouch, ready to lunge again. But Annie had already retrieved her gun and was halfway across the room. Marisa pursued her, eager for blood. Reaching the table in the middle of the room Annie leapt up and slid across the top of it, putting the flimsy wooden barrier between herself and Marisa.

Marisa didn’t break stride as she leapt on top of the table and kept moving. Annie crouched down and dove underneath it. “You play hide & seek with Marisa?” The pirate girl giggled. Her claw came down, piercing the table.

Lying on the floor beneath Annie smiled as its tip halted only an inch away from her face. She squeezed the trigger of her machine gun, firing upward through the tabletop. Marisa nimbly leapt backwards, flipping off of the table to land in a crouch on the floor. “Peek-a-boo. Marisa find you.” She smiled as she peered underneath the table at Annie.

Just then Raven returned. ''The six of us are getting out of here now! To the lif.....What the….'' She began but was cut off by the sight of Marisa. Marisa was equally enthralled by the sight of the captain. She abandoned her pursuit of Annie and leapt upon Raven like a cat toying with a mouse.

Annie scrambled out from under the table and leveled her machine gun at Marisa. Its barrel twitched this way and that but Annie couldn’t get a clear shot at the pirate girl. She’d clip Raven if she tried. “Hmmm…” Annie seemed to ponder the idea, considering the consequences of ventilating the captain along with Marisa.

But before she could reach a decision Marisa relented in her assault to claim some fallen object from Raven’s hand. She examined it briefly and then retreated from the bridge with it. Now with a clear line of sight Annie opened fire on Marisa but her bullets struck the rapidly closing door instead.

“Whoa, talk about déjà vu.” Annie grunted, clearly recalling her own narrow escape from Razar’s rifle. She ran after Marisa to carry their fight to the open deck but the pirate girl had crushed the lock with her mechanical arm, sealing them all inside of the bridge.

~

''Were not safe here, or any were on this ship!'' Raven said in a voice tinged with fear. Annie and the others gathered at the windows to see what had frightened her so badly.

“Uh, hey guys. The ship is melting.” Annie observed dryly. Her assessment wasn’t entirely accurate, as the ship was actually being disintegrated by the power of the deadly device that it had been transporting. But this was not the time to split hairs or argue semantics. This was a time to take action.

“We need to get out of here.” Alex grunted under Mick’s dead weight.

“You think?!” Annie yelled back at him. He was right though. The clock was ticking and they all needed to get off of this ship as soon as possible.

Annie took a look around the room, assessing their options for escape. She noted the windows as one likely route but dismissed them just as quickly. While the glass would be easy to shatter it was a long drop down to the deck and they didn’t have any rope handy to rappel down with.

The door was also out. Marisa had seen to that. Plus Annie’s usual method of opening it with brute force wouldn’t work either. She’d already riddled it with bullets and it still stood firm. “Hmmm…..” Annie wracked her brain for another solution. Both of the obvious exits were invalid. “Guess I’ll just have to make a new one.” She decided.

Another quick look around the room revealed a possible escape route. Set into the side of the wall was a good-sized ventilation unit. An electri-powered fan inside of it could draw fresh air from outside of the bridge and waft it inside to keep the room cool on hot days.

With a smirk Annie walked over to it. She passed by Mick and Alex, briefly glancing at the injured man. “Just man up and deal with it. We’ll sew it back on later.” She muttered, nodding towards the stump of his severed limb.

Now standing in front of the vent Annie ejected the clip of her machine gun and took stock of her remaining ammunition. Satisfied that she had enough she leveled the gun at the cubicle contraption and opened fire. The bullets traced a rough circle around the outside of it. Once the holes they left had traced a complete circuit of the vent Annie stepped back. With a squeal of bending metal the whole ventilation unit leaned inward and them toppled from the wall. A jagged hole just large enough for an average sized person to fit through was left.

“Ladies first.” Annie swept her arms towards the hole with a flourish, indicating that the others should precede her through. Whether she was referring to Raven as a lady or the two men was anyones' guess.

Raven watched on from the window as the ship that she had taken over was slowly disintegrating.
''There must be a way off this sinking grave.'' she muttered.

The sudden sound of bullets caused Raven to turn around to see Annie taking care of one of the vents.
The large fan fell to the floor reveling a new passage out of the bridge.
“Ladies first.” Annie pointed her hand at the new exit.

The vent was just the right size for the average person, but before even thinking of it's size Raven had already gathered her sword and pistol as she leaped for the vent.
''Let's get going!'' She yelled as she dived feet first into the vent, her hand placed against her head to keep her hat from flying off.
''Cowards next........'' Her voice could be heard echoing up the metal tunnel, most likely directed at Mick and Alex.

''Even under such circumstances she still finds time to insult us.'' Alex sighed as he helped Mick into the vent.
The two slid down the metal tube, not knowing where they would end up.
They both came to a sudden stop as they fell out of the vent both head first.

Alex helped Mick up as they looked around what was left of the ship.
Large patches of empty ness were all over the deck like an unfinished jigsaw puzzle, with pieces disappearing by the second.
Raven had already wondered away from the vent's exit as she stood watching The Misery as it slowly turned it's back on them.

''A...lex..'' Mick tried to get his friends attention as he pointed towards the back of the ship.
Alex looked in the direction Mick was pointing, only to see that the disintegration had already spread to the ships engines.
''The ships about to go down!!'' Alex shouted over to Raven just as the deck started to tilt, a few of the lighter crates sliding to the back of the large cargo ship.

''Al..ex....boat!'' Mick once again tried to talk.
Alex looked once more towards the back of the ship were he finally saw what Mick was really pointing to.
There was a small group of crew members, around three who were trying to lower what seemed to be the last of the life boats.

No sooner as he had seen this he had Mick up on his back as he made a quick dash, trying not to trip as it would surely send them both sliding down and of the ship into deep sky.
Alex stopped for a second to turn and tell Raven about the life boat but as he turned he noticed a large gap had appeared between them and where Raven and the vent were.
The gap was quickly disintegrating as it became clear that there was no way over it now.

''Looks like your luck has run out!'' Alex mocked Raven as he turned back towards the others,
''Black Pirates always get what's coming to them!''

This did not go down well with Raven as she turned her head to face the two running from her.
She saw that the deck was starting to disappear, the two had clearly got away from her.
Knowing this she pulled out her pistol and pointed it at the two, ''Cowards!'' She shouted, yet she hesitated to pull the trigger.

~

''Hey Razar!!'' A loud voice shouted out over the deck of The Misery, a large man dressed in fur and wearing a horned helmet had his hand pointing over at the cargo ship.
''You missed a few!''

Razar walked over to the side of the ship as he ready his weapon.
''......'' He waved his right hand in the air for a second, a signal for the ship to turn around and come along side what was left of the sinking cargo ship.
He placed his rifle along the side rail as he took aim.

~

''Hey wait for us!'' Alex called over to the men in the life boat.
One of the men stood up as he waved them to move faster, ''Quick, theres not much time!''
Alex tried to run with Mick on his back, but just as Alex placed Mick in the life boat there came a sound from the distance.
It was the same sound they had all heard before.

As the men looked up the one that was standing was no longer with them.
Another one of the men quickly pulled Alex into the boat as the other looked over the side to see their friend fall into the sky below with a trail of blood flowing from his head.
''Cast off, quick!'' Alex shouted as they all tried to lower the boat, knowing that the sniper from before was back on their case.

The same red dot from before suddenly appeared on Alex's hand, ''No, no not me!'' He panicked as the red dot moved across to Mick.
''Why me?'' He cried as his eyes started to water.

Just then the red dot moved so fast that they had no idea where it had gone.
For a second they thought they were safe until they all spotted it at once.
The red dot was now placed on the main safety rope which was holding the life boat up.
In the matter of a second the air was torn with the sound of the rifle as the rope snapped, sending the life boat tumbling down into the sky.

~

''Ah, your no fun!'' The large man told Razar as he walked away, ''Head shots all round, now that's fun! HaHa!''
Razar did not reply, he simple put his rifle away while looking over the deck of the doomed ship.
He spotted two people still moving around, one was the captain but the other he knew all to well.
''You again...?'' He muttered to himself as he smiled under his scarf.

Razar then turned and walked away from the side of The Misery.
''May we meet again?'' He asked himself.

''You seem happy, Razar?'' A voice came from the stairway leading below deck.
A tall man was seated on the stairs with his back to the outside world.

Razar stopped only for a moment to nod before walking away.

~

''What is he playing at!?'' Raven asked herself as she watched The Misery turn around and pull up along side 'her' ship.
Suddenly a few shots came from The Misery's deck followed by screams behind her.
She turned in time to see Alex and his friends fall into the sky below along with their life boat.
''Serves you right.'' She smirked as she turned her attention back to The Misery.

''Well, die here or die on that thing?'' She wondered out loud as she stared at the monstrous Black Pirate ship.
A crumbling nose could be heard behind her as she quickly turned around.
The disintegration had started to make it's way up the bridge which was now starting to wobble from side to side.
''Well that's not good!'' Raven shouted as she made a dash towards the closest crate that was not sliding around.
She grabbed on as she looked around to see if Annie was safe too, for some reason she found herself caring about someone other than herself.

Her thoughts were cut short as the ship's bridge came crashing down smashing a group of crates as if they were made from card.
The windows shattered as glass spilled over the deck followed by a cloud of dust.
The collapse of the bridge caused what was left of the engines to brake away and fall into deep sky which sent the nose of the ship skywards.

''Looks like my decision has been made for me!'' Raven told herself as she looked up from her safe place.
The bridge was at a angle and facing The Misery which was only just starting to move away from the doomed ship.

''If I'm going down I'm going down fighting!!'' Raven made a dash for the remains of the bridge.
She climbed up onto the side of the fallen bridge and ran up towards The Misery.
She pulled out her sword and made one final leap of faith.

~

''Hey! Are you two ok?'' Alex felt a hand gently slap the side of his face,
''I'm up, I'm up.'' He replied before realizing what had just happened.
''Wheres Mick!''

''The one armed guy? He is fine, just needs rest.'' The sailor told him.
The life boat indeed fell, and they lost the fourth crew member, yet the three remaining could not believe their luck.

''We need to get him to a doctor!'' Alex stood up as he took charge of the life boat.
''Don't worry,'' Alex checked their location with the Moons, ''I know of a ship around these parts.''

Annie followed the others down the vent shaft. After a short slide they all found themselves standing back on the main deck. Annie winced at the sound of screeching metal as the cargo ship disintegrated all around them. It was like nails on a chalkboard to her.

"Gotta get to that lifeboat!" Annie yelled above the noise. It wasn't necessary though, as everyone began sprinting towards it. As they all drew closer she could see that the two crewmen who had fled the bridge were already there and preparing the small boat for launch.

Right then and there Annie decided that those two lowly peons had done right by her. As such they both deserved promotions! No longer would she think of them as mere cannon fodder. Instead she would bump them up to the status of lackeys. She might even ask their names later is she remembered. She probably wouldn't though.

Annie trotted after Alex and Mick but came sliding to a stop as the deck in front of her collapsed. leaving a wide gap between her and the lifeboat. "Whoa!" She yelled, holding her arm out to halt Raven.

Raven and Alex exchanged unpleasantries and the Black Pirate was on the verge of shooting her former crewman. Under other circumstances Annie would probably have skipped the insults and mowed the whole lot down. But right now a more pressing matter had her attention.

"Hey boss lady. That ship is coming back." Annie reported, pointing towards the returning Misery. Shots were fired and suddenly the lifeboat, their only means of escape, was no longer there.

Annie was pissed but also impressed by the level of skill it would have taken to clip that rope at such a distance. She knew immediately who had fired the shot. "Back for more eh?" She muttered with a vicious smile. Sooner or later the two of them were going to lock horns but this wasn't the best time to pick a fight.

With the ship falling apart all around them she and Raven needed to find a way off of it that didn't involve a swan dive into Deep Sky. The solution that Raven presented was obvious in its simplicity and yet it was almost unthinkable in its riskiness.

As the deck began to tilt upwards Annie raced after her and took a flying leap from the doomed cargo ship onto the deck of the Misery. Tucking her shoulders she rolled herself into a ball and then came to a stop in a crouch. The barrel of her gun swept the deck, threatening anyone who might be nearby.

"Gone from the fryin' pan into the fire. You got cajones lady." Annie laughed at Raven. "Bet ya haven't got a clue what we should do next, do ya?"

Raven's blade dug into the side of The Misery, cutting into the wood as she kicked her legs against the ship in order to flip herself up onto it's deck.
She landed in a crouched position as she realized just how close she was to almost falling into deep sky.
As Raven raised her head she noticed Annie was standing besides her, the gun she carry around was at the ready.

The Black Pirate stood up, eyes moving from Annie and onto the ship that she now found herself on.
"Bet ya haven't got a clue what we should do next, do ya?" Annie laughed as she moved her gun around, pointing it at the ship's crew who had already gathered on deck.

Raven's hand tightened it's grip around her sword as she took in the fact that there were far too many crew members for them to take on.
The Misery was much bigger than what she had imagined. ''We take them all on.'' She laughed, knowing that the odds were not on their side.

Raven had already spotted the crazy eyed girl who had attacked her earlier, she was sitting on the upper deck watching them with a twisted grin across her face.
The crew were what was to be expected from a Black Pirate, yet a few faces stood out above the rest.
A large man who resembled that of a Viking stood head over a group of men, the look of rage in his eyes.

''Annie?'' Raven muttered as she she realized something odd.
''I guess you to have noticed they have not attacked us yet?''

Raven was right, for some reason the crew seemed to be ready for a fight. However not one would move an inch closer to the two of them.

''What's the matter, scared of a fight?'' Raven mocked the men.
''That's right, I'm Raven Claw!'' She smiled, that had to be the reason not one of them would advance on her?

Just then a chill fell over the ship, the feeling of dread appeared in the air.
Half of the crew kept their eyes on the two as the rest turned their attention to a door at the very back of the ship,
a door that looked over the three tier decks.

The morning sun shone bright from behind, casting a shadow over the cabin, the flickering lanterns providing the only light.
It's door slowly opened as a large dark figure stood in the door way.
It was impossible to make out who this man was, but it was oblivious he was the ship's Captain.

''Cularmati....'' Raven muttered under her own breath as she looked on.
The crew all seemed happy as they waited for their Captain to give his order.

For almost half a minute he stood there in the distance, his dark silhouette judging them all.
Suddenly he reached out to his side, his arm stretched out has he took a hold of a sand timer hanging from one of the lanterns.
With the flick of his wrist the sand timer was turned, and with the blink of the eye he had returned to his domain.

''Three minute rule!!!'' A group of crew members started shouting out as they cheered.
The crowd seemed excited as they all backed away to the sides of the deck, putting their weapons away and helping themselves to a drink here and there.

''What the hell s a three minute rule?'' Raven asked out loud as she lowered her sword in confusion, looking around the deck.

Just then the sound of heavy foot steps caught her attention, her eyes moved to locate the Viking as he was the only one whose size matched the sound.
Indeed it was him as he walked towards the two.
''I'll make you beg for death!'' He chuckled as he reached for his large axe, but before he could a red blur dashed across his path almost knocking the large Viking over.
The red blur jumped into the sky before landing in front of the Viking, ''There mine, their skill would wipe the floor with your mindless fighting style.''

The Viking clenched his teeth as he let out a roar, yet the man who now stood in front of him did not show a sign of fear.
''Fine, have it your way!'' The Viking turned and joined a group of Crew men to watch the battle.

The man who now faced Raven and Annie was clearly once from Yafutoma.
''I can not allow you to lay a single scratch on my Captain.'' The Samurai explained, his voice was calm yet had a hint of pain as he mentioned the word Captain.
''I am Oshima, I am your opponent.''

The Samurai took out his twin Katana as he swung them around showing a great level of skill with the weapons.
''Two on one?'' Raven smiled as she turned to Annie, ''I don't know what this is about but like kick his arse!''

Before Raven could even turn back to face Oshima the air was sliced with the sound of gun fire.
The katana in Oshima's left hand was sent flying into the air, landing in front of a group of crew members.
''Who dares to ...'' Oshima's out burst was cut short as he turned to see who had shot one of his blades away from him.

''.....She has one sword, this makes it a fair fight.'' The cloaked man answered as he made his presence known.
He took a hold of his red cloak and tossed it over his right shoulder, reviling a large custom made rifle.
''I am Razar, and you are my target...'' His gaze directed at Annie before turning to check on the sand timer which Oshima also had his eyes on.

''Come on! Fight!'' The Viking yelled, causing the crew to join in with him shouting.
Oshima moved like the wind, jumping into the air, his katana aimed directly above Raven's head,
at the same time Razar moved his rifle, the red dot centered on Annie's head.
