The Regal cargo ship made it's way towards the sinking ship as Raven made her way back to the bridge. She burst the door open and went right for her metal box. ''Look alive you miserable lot!'' She called out to her new crew as she kicked the box across the floor. As it slowed to a stop it opened, a mix of weapons spilled onto the ground. Pistols, dagger and long swords, all from Raven's past crew members. ''The ship is indeed one of Black Pirates.'' She had got these people on her side yet even they did not know she herself was a Pirate. ''You will all wait for my signal.'' She then turned to leave, ''You two!'' She called over to the two large men she had hired, ''You come with me.'' The three of them made their way out of the bridge. When it came to dealing with black Pirates Raven took no chances, after all she knew what Black Pirates were like more than anyone on this ship. ~ As the ship came up next to the sinking pirate ship the crew of the Regal cargo ship started looking over the side for survivors. ''Hey!'' Alex shouted out, ''This was a Black Pirate ship!'' Pointing to the burning flag. The crew moved back away from the side. Raven clicked her fingers, the two large men walked over to the side of the ship to have a look. ''You should not show fear to black Pirates,'' Raven, or Arnold as they knew her, told the crew. ''It only gets them excited...'' She said quietly under her voice as she turned to look at the burning ship, Her hands slowly hugging her own body as she remembered her last crew, all running for the life boats as she sank the ship she 'borrowed'. Nothing got Raven more 'excited' than the look of a man who trusted her just realizing he was fooled from the start, and here was yet another crew ready to play her game. "YO! Over here!" a voice suddenly called out. ''Over there!'' Raven pointed out the small girl waving her arms. ''Bring her aboard!'' Raven then smirked for a moment, Her route was supposed to run into at least one pirate ship. However it would seem that might not be the case now, then again it was still a few days before they could even catch sight of the Platform. |

"Thank ye, thank ye kindly!" Annie cried out happily as she was hoisted aboard the cargo ship. Below them the Mulligan continued to burn as it slowly sank into the clouds. To the woman responsible for its fiery end the ship was already an afterthought. With the ship and its pirate crew being forgotten other thoughts were now free to crowd into Annie's muddled brain. First and foremost among them was the driving purpose behind her life; vengeance. "Say there bub. You don't happen to know a couple of fellows by the name of Briggs do you?" She asked one of the men who'd rescued her only moments ago. When the man didn't respond to her liking Annie produced her machine gun again and wound up right back where she'd started. "Moons dammit! I said bring those sorry-@$$ son-of-a-@#$%& bastards out here right now!" And then Annie opened fire, waving the muzzle of her weapon madly about while laughing like a madwoman. Fortunately for the crew of the cargo ship she'd run out of ammunition already and hadn't bothered to reload. And so Annie's killing spree was reduced to an absurd dance performed upon the deck. ~ After a few minutes Annie tired herself out and calmed down. She sat down on the deck, fanning herself with her bandanna. Annie was a little confused as well. She was pretty sure some serious bad-assery had just gone down but she wasn't sure what that had been all about. "Let's see. I was looking for the Briggs Brothers. I shot at some pirates and sank their ship. Uh....." Annie muttered to herself, trying to sort out her jumbled thoughts. "Then I came on board and......the Briggs Brothers.....I shot at someone.....and then, what was it I was about to do?" After a moment of brain-burning cogitation Annie's eyes lit up. "Ah hah! Now I remember what it was!" She exclaimed in delight. "I was about to sink this ship! But.....wow, talk about deja vu." Reaching into her skirt pocket Annie withdrew a cigar and placed it between her teeth. An oil lighter materialized in her other hand and she lit it. Taking a long puff from it she sighed and looked about. This ship was certainly bigger and more sturdily made than the last one. And the crew was… “HOLY SHIT! ZOMBIES!” Annie screamed at the sight of the crew. She was certain she’d mowed the lot of them down only moments before. Now they had all come back to life and were standing around, staring at her. Surely they were all thinking about eating her brains! Annie clambered atop a purple cargo crate that bore the logo of the Regal Company, dropping her cigar in her haste. She scanned the crowd of undead/not dead crewmen through eyes wide with fright. “I’ll make fertilizer out of the lot of you!” Annie cried, brandishing her still-unloaded weapon at them. She squeezed the trigger and sprayed the crew with imaginary bullets again. “They….just….keep….coming.” Annie rasped at the realization that the crew was unfazed by her attack. “It’s like something out of a horror novel!” |

Raven walked over to the crate as the crew looked on in shock and disbelief while Annie went nuts with her weapon. She picked up the cigar and held it in her hand for a second, ''Why do these type of things always happen to me...?'' She asked herself as she took a quick puff of Annie's cigar. Raven then took a few steps backwards and tossed the cigar at Annie, just missing her head by an inch. ''Come here!'' Raven called out to a close by crew member. The second he stepped closer he found himself on the floor as Raven pulled one of his shoes off. ''Shut up!'' She shouted at Annie as the shoe make contact with the girls face. ''We are not zombies, and there is no Briggs here.'' She shouted at Annie while trying not to pull out her hidden pistol and go all Black Pirate on the girl. She then signalled for the crew to get back to work while she waited for the girl to come down from her crate. ''Mick! Alex!'' She ordered the only crew members who names she cared to remember to help the girl down. ''I don't know or care what you was doing on that ship,'' She told the girl, ''but it looks like Im stuck with you for now.'' Raven folded her arms across her chest, catching a quick look at Annie's figure while she smirked. ''This is a Regal Cargo ship, heading for the Pl.....Valua.'' She started to tell the girl. Raven had almost forgot the original destination of the ship, not that it would matter now. ''My name is Captain Arnold.'' She lied as she showed Annie that there was nothing to worry about on this ship. ''As long as you don't do anything as crazy as THAT again you can stay until we reach Valua,'' She continued to lied. Raven then smiled, ''Or if you like we will be passing a small island tomorrow which the crew will be taking a well deserved break on.'' This time it was not so much a lie. Raven showed Annie the direction of the crew cabin, ''You can sleep in there, Im sure there will be a spare room.'' She then placed her hand on Annie's shoulder, ''If not Im sure you will make room, haha.'' Raven then placed her hand on Annie's machine-gun, ''I will need to take care of this for now, crew safety.'' A grin then came across her face as she thought about tomorrow, ''Then again, as long as you can tell me you don't have more ammo, I guess keeping it on you is not harm.'' With that Raven went on her way, after all she did not care much. From mid-day tomorrow things would be very different. ~ As Raven entered the bridge she was met with the business end of several blades. ''Very nice,'' She joked. ''Sorry Arnold, we did not expect it to be you.'' One of her new crew apologised. Raven just smiled, to her things were going well. Only a few lose ends remained. She sat down to think things over, ''That big chef guy,'' She told herself, ''Will he join me or not?'' Raven was worried incase he sided with the crew of the Regal ship. ''Then again,'' Her head lifted up as she smirked, ''That girl might come in handy!'' She stood up and ran to her weapons box, half the time she is never sure what she has put in there. Normally she just grabs anything she can an hour or so before turning on her crew. She was lucky, she had packed a few rounds of ammo, ''Haha! nice.'' She laughed out loud. ''Gentle men,'' She addressed the bridge, ''Tomorrow we search for gold!'' Edited by Daiohma, Oct 3 2011, 09:03 PM.

The boot struck Annie in the face, snapping her out of her delusions. She fell onto her rump and looked around, dazed and confused. "Huh?" She asked of no one in particular. ''Shut up! We are not zombies, and there is no Briggs here.'' Some woman in a tight-fitting purple uniform was yelling at her. "Zombies? Who the @#$& said anything about zombies?" Annie snorted to herself. "Sounds like somebodies had a snoot-full." Just then a couple of sailors stepped forward to help her down from the box she was on top of. "Oh, yeah. Thanks buddy." She offered while wondering exactly how she'd gotten up there in the first place. And while she was doing all that wondering Annie missed most of what Raven/Arnold was saying to her. ''My name is Captain Arnold. As long as you don't do anything as crazy as THAT again you can stay until we reach Valua.'' Annie caught the last of their conversation. "Do what as crazy as what to who now?" She wondered aloud. Well, Raven/Arnold had mentioned something about the Briggs Brothers. Annie knew she got a little bit discombobulated whenever those two were in the picture. Deciding it was probably better not to dwell on that subject and go bat-shit insane again Annie decided to take the buxom captain up on her offer. Valua was as good a place as any to go. And since Annie didn't really know where she was right now then she couldn't think of any reason in particular to stay. Raven/Arnold directed her towards an available cabin. ''I will need to take care of this for now, crew safety.'' She said, reaching towards Annie's machine gun. "Touch it and I'll bite your hand off." Annie narrowed her eyes as she hugged the weapon close to her chest as if it were a beloved child. ''Then again, as long as you can tell me you don't have more ammo, I guess keeping it on you is not harm.'' Raven/Arnold laughed. "Not a bullet left to my name." Annie sighed. "I feel so inadequate right now." ~ Annie was also feeling paranoid right now. Having no ammunition left made her uncomfortable. She was out here in the middle of the ocean on a ship full of people with no bullets. What if she needed to smoke somebody? Checking out her cabin Annie made certain nobody was hiding under the bed or in the closet before she could relax a little. "Guess I'll take a nap." She decided. But first Annie made sure to lock the door and lay her survival knife on the stand next to the bed. Satisfied that her lodgings were as secure as she could make them without the aid of tripwires and land mines Annie laid down on the bed and fell into a light sleep. |

Night fall and the crew were all fast asleep. Only Raven and the helmsman were awake now, keeping the ship going by themselves. Just moments before the crew retired for the night she told them all that come tomorrow they would be taking a well earned break on a small island she knows off. Raven sat in her chair, playing with the bullets between her fingers. She had a grin across her face as she knew that at the break of dawn this ship would be under her full control and would be very useful. Even if her goal was yet an even bigger ship. ''Sir!'' the helmsman called out, ''We have reached that island.'' Raven jumped from her chair and ran to the window, ''Good!'' She replied with a smile, pushing herself up against the window in excitement of the islands presence. ''Now get some sleep before tomorrow comes!'' She ordered the helmsman. He walked out of the bridge in high spirit singing to himself about gold hunting. Now alone in the bridge Raven removed her Regal hat and took a look at her own reflection in the glass. ''Your such a bad girl.'' She winked at herself before putting the hat back on. Making sure the metal box lined with weapons was ready for her crew in the morning she locked the bright door and made her way towards the ships anchor. She pulled the wheel releasing the anchor as it crashed onto the island. Standing there for a moment she looked over the side at the small island, thinking about how she will go about her plan in the morning. Raven then turned to lean her back against the side rail, looking up at the night sky. ''I'll find you raven....'' She told herself, ''You might just be a ship, but his memory lives on in you.'' A few moments pass by as Raven was thinking to herself. She then stood up right, ready to go when her foot hit something. It was the shoe she had used to get Annie's attention earlier that day. She bent over to pick it up, looking at it she grinned. Then she turned and tossed the shoe over the side of the ship towards the island. There was the smallest thud as it hit. It was too dark to see if it had reached the island but Raven found a little joy is tossing something overboard. After that second of fun she reached in her back pocket and pulled out a small folded bit of paper. It was the list of cargo on the ship, the one she only had a quick look over. Now all alone she had time to see just what was on this cargo ship. After all tomorrow it would be all hers. She franticly looked over the paper, ''Ship parts, ship parts, more ship parts!?'' Just then something caught her eye, ''Thats it!, oh Im so lucky!'' One of the cargo containers was for the entertainment district of Valua and therefor contained beer and the like. ''Just what I need to keep the men in order!'' Happy that she will have a ship and crew, she dropped the paper over the side of the ship and started to make her was around the containers towards the crew cabins. Just as she was making her way out from the last container her foot yet again kicked something across the floor. Raven bent down to pick up what ever it was, maybe something else to toss over board. It turned out to be Annie's cigar from earlier, ''Can't believe I missed her with this?'' She wondered out loud, smiling at the fact she got her with the shoe. She made her way to the top of the cabins and leaned against the side rail looking out across the ship. It was pretty much dead, the whole crew were in bed, probably asleep. She wondered to herself if any of the crew could not sleep because of having thought about her. Just thinking this made her laugh out loud as she turned to rest her back against the side rail. ''I can't wait to get out of these cloths!'' She started to talk to herself. That was when she spotted the flag poll, the Regal flag blowing in the light wind. She walked over to the poll and lowered the flag, taking it from it's poll and letting it blow around in her hand. Raven then remembered Annie's cigar which she took out and placed between her lips, bringing it to life with the flame of her pistol she kept hidden on her. Raven then took the cigar and burnt a hole in the center of the flag, dropping it to the ground. The flag started to burn and she stomped her boot down on it, ''We won't be needing this anymore!'' She laughed and she took a puff on Annie's cigar. She turned to lean on the railing once more, looking out over the skies. ''No harm in celebrating early now.'' She told herself as she decided to finish Annie's cigar before going off to bed herself. |

Annie stood atop the cargo crate watching in helpless frustration as the Briggs Brothers escaped from her once again. "Yeah, we showed her bro!" Henry laughed, high-fiving his sibling. "We sure did bro!" Hank returned the gesture. The pirate ship was burning fast and Annie didn't have any ammunition left to shoot at the brothers' Looper-shaped balloon as it floated away from her. "Get back down here you stinking sons of bitches!" She shrieked. But her anger only made them laugh harder. "Only one thing to do then." Annie leapt down from the crate, landing in the front yard of her house and running through the door. She came back out a moment later towing a huge cannon behind her. "Hey chum-wads! I got something for ya!" She called out to the retreating Briggs Brothers. The cannon was also out of ammo but that didn't matter. Annie climbed down its barrel, pulled the trigger on her machine gun and was shot out of it. She flew through the air towards the Looper balloon and then..... ~ "Huh....uh...." Annie snorted. She glanced around the darkened interior of her cabin, dazed and confused. Her limbs were all tangled up in her bed sheet and it took hr a moment to free herself. "Where the hell am I?" Annie mumbled. The confusion of the day's events had woven themselves into her dream, making it difficult for her to tell what had really happened and what had been only in her mind. Shaking her head to clear it Annie stood up and made for the door. "I need some fresh air." She told herself. ~ Annie made her way back onto the deck of the cargo ship. She noted that it was no longer moving and that the deck was empty. Had they reached Valua already? The question wasn't pondered for very long. Annie really didn't care. Walking along with her hand on the railing Annie's eyes were drawn to a flickering light just up ahead. Someone else was on deck too it seemed. Making her way over Annie was delighted to see someone stamping out a flame on the deck. She didn't know what was going on but something was on fire and there was stomping involved. Annie was all over that. "Hey hey hey, what's all this about now?" Annie smiled as she walked up to Raven. "You trying to start a fire or something?" She asked. From her pocket Annie produced one of her last Incendiaries and offered to commit it to the effort. Annie wasn't certain how fire-bombing the ship was a good idea but she was only trying to help out. "Oh hey, you're that captain woman." She finally noticed who she was talking to. Annie also noticed that she was smoking a cigar. It was the same brand she liked too. Annie hadn't bothered to undress before she'd fell asleep, which was convenient. Reaching into one of her skirt pockets she withdrew a cigar of her own. Clenching it between her teeth she held the Incendiary up to it, as if to light it. "Oops, that's a little too much fire." She snorted. Replacing the grenade Annie rummaged around in her pocket until she found her lighter. Pulling it out she lit up the cigar and took a long puff on it. "Aaahh." She sighed, holding the smoldering coffin nail between her fingers. Standing alone with Raven on deck Annie figured she should say something. "So, uh....busy day today huh?" Was the best she could come up with. |

"Hey hey hey, what's all this about now?" Raven turned to to see the small girl from earlier tat day run up to her. She seemed interested in burning the whole ship. ''Its fine.....just something we don't need.'' Raven told the girl as she turned to face Annie while leaning against the rails. "Oh hey, you're that captain woman." Annie realized as Raven exhaled from her cigar that the girl was watching. ''Thats right, Im the captain woman.'' Raven smiled back at her. Annie pulled out her own cigar as she tried to light it with a grenade before noticing what she was doing. "Aaahh." Annie sighed as she also exhaled. Raven just smiled back at her, she had not touched a cigar in ages. She promised herself she would not have another until she got back the 'white Raven'. This would be her thirteenth attempt, but this time she had a good feeling about it. after all there was now a ship that could pluck the white Raven out from deep sky. The two stood for a while looking at the night sky while smoking their cigars. "So, uh....busy day today huh?" Annie finally asked. Raven stretched her arms out letting out a sigh. ''Me?'' She turned to face Annie, ''I guess you could say I have.'' She then looked down at her uniform, ''Darn thing has been too tight this whole journey!'' Raven muttered to herself as she unbuttoned the top two buttons of her top. ''Aah, much better.'' She smiled as she took another puff from her cigar. ''Bad things these.'' She told Annie as she exhaled in her direction with a smile. Raven then looked out over to the small island in the dark. ''What would you say if tomorrow we were hijacked by Black Pirates?'' She joked to Annie. ''Forcing us to search for gold and such, haha.'' Raven then flicked her cigar over the side of the ship, she stood with her hands on her hips and legs apart, ''Wouldn't that be exciting!'' She looked down at the girl with a grin on her face, She knew what she was going to do tomorrow yet she felt a small connection with this girl. The way she went nuts and doesn't seem to care, it reminded her of when she was young. However she did not go around with a machine gun but a pistol. ''Best get some sleep.'' Raven told Annie, ''This captain woman needs her beauties sleep!'' Raven hugged herself with a look of pleasure on her face. With that Raven went back to her cabin for a good nights rest. ~ Light shone upon Raven's face from the window of her cabin. ''Time already...?'' She muttered as she turned over in her bed. ''Time already!!'' She shouted as she realized it was morning, jumping out from her bed cover. ''Arnold Captain Woman for the last time!'' She started to sing as she put on her fake uniform. She picked up her metal box and made her way into the corridor. Raven burst into Bam's room, tossing the box on top of him waking him up. ''What the!?'' He called out from the sudden shock. ''Hand them out to the guys, and the ammo to the girl.'' Raven snapped at him. ''Shes in on it?'' Bam asked as he got out of his bed. ''Not yet.'' Raven smiled back as she walked over to Axel's bed, the second guy she hired for the job. He was still fast asleep as Raven sent her foot flying into his side, ''Wake up you lowly worm!'' The door slammed shut as Raven went on her way. Axel rolled over and fell out of his bed, ''Are we pirates yet?'' He asked Bam. ''Pirates!?'' Bam asked in confusion, ''who said we were pirates?'' ''I don't know, just gold and all that, sounds like what pirates do.'' Axel replied. ~ Raven walked to the end of the corridor, Alex and Mick were waiting for todays orders. ''Get everyone on deck, now!'' Raven snapped at the two. ''Is that all?'' Alex asked, a little confused. ''Yes that is all!'' Raven barked back at him as she turned and made her way back to her room. ''No vacation on the island then?'' Mick asked in a sad tone. ''She is one odd captain.'' Alex replied as they both started knocking on the cabin doors. ''Meeting on the top deck!'' ~ Back in her room Raven locked the door as she tossed the hat across the bed. She gazed at herself in the mirror, not many people had ever seen her full face. She stripped down and placed the uniform on the ground under her feet. While alone Raven took a look at her right arm, she covered her scares in a bandage while producing a small suitcase from under her bed. She opened the small case, pulling out a long black outfit and a purple mask. |

For a while Annie was content to just enjoy her cigar and make small talk with Captain Arnold. And then one of her comments caught her attention. ''What would you say if tomorrow we were hijacked by Black Pirates? Forcing us to search for gold and such, haha.'' The captain joked in a tone that really didn't sound much like she was joking. ''Wouldn't that be exciting!'' "I'd say 'Hell yeah, that'd be exciting!'" Annie laughed. "Searching for gold sounds like a sweet gig. I'd feel sorry for the pirates though." Annie flicked the ashes from the end of cigar and stepped on them. When she next spoke her voice was strangely serious. "My dad didn't raise any good-for-nothings. Don't worry. If any pirates try to take over your ship I'll frickin' kill 'em for ya. I always pay my dues." Captain Arnold excused herself and returned to her cabin. Despite what she'd said Annie didn't feel much like sleeping anymore. She'd just had a nap after all. Instead she stayed on deck for a while, looking out over the island below them. "Pirates huh?" Annie snorted. "Is something really going to happen tomorrow?" ~ The next morning Annie was roused from her bed by a knock at her cabin door. ''Meeting on the top deck!'' Someone in the hall called out to her. "Huh?" Annie awoke at the sound and glanced around blearily. She'd eventually fallen asleep again but she didn't much feel like getting up right now. "Oh @#$& off!" She yelled at the door and flopped back down on the bed. Annie only laid there for a couple of minutes though. A meeting? Then she recalled Arnold's cryptic words from the night before. "Something's about to go down I'll bet." Annie said to herself, rising groggily from the bed. Collecting her gear and straightening out her clothing Annie left the room and headed up onto the top deck. There was already a crowd of sailors there and she had to elbow her way through their ranks, cursing the whole way, until she reached the front. "Where's the boss lady?" Annie asked of no one in particular. "What'd she call me out of bed for?" |

Mick and Alex made their way onto the deck, ''I think thats all of them.'' Mick said to Alex as he looked over the crew. ''I wonder what Captain Arnold wants?'' Alex asked himself as the two of them made their way to the front of the group. The crew were talking amongst themselves, talk of a short vacation from work on the island was at the top of the banter. ''Say, Alex..'' Mick asked, ''Is it ok for a captain of the Regal co to just give out a vacation like this?'' ''Not one bit!'' Alex quickly replied, ''It is direct violation of the company, we have a set time for delivery which, along with this route that was to be quicker, will now be late.'' Just then Bam appeared at the front of the group, ''Shut up and pay attention!'' He yelled out across the deck, almost everyone went quiet in shock. At the back of the group Axel made his way towards the flag poll, attaching a small black flag. ''Just what is going on here!?'' Alex called out from the crowd, ''Wait until Captain Arnold gets here!'' ''Arnold?'' Came a voice from atop the highest cargo crate, ''Arnold never made it off Sailors Island!'' The figure walked into the light cast from the morning sun, her slender figure catching the light as it ran up her left leg. The Black dress stood out against the morning sky as the black hat blew around in the breeze. A set of eyes looked down on the crew of the regal Cargo ship from behind the dark purple mask. ''Raise the colours!'' She called out as she drew her green Moon Stone sword and pointed it towards the back of the ship. No sooner as the words were spoken Axel pulled the rope as the flag ascended the poll, catching the wind the black flag waved from side to side. ''I am Raven!'' The Black Pirate called out as she pointed her sword into the air. She was quickly joined by random crew members who also took out swords, pointing them into the air while chanting Raven's name. ''From now on this ship is under my command!'' Raven smirked, ''Now, for those of you that can't sail under the command of a pirate...'' She swung her sword down to her side and then returned it to her belt. ''GET OFF MY SHIP!'' Axel and Bam had already made their way to the side of the ship, placing a large plank of wood across the side to the small island. Raven then leaned down, letting the crew get a good look at her body, ''For anyone that stays and obeys me,'' Her grin returned to her face, ''You'll be treated to gold, and maybe more!'' The crew quickly split into two groups as the ones who wanted to say started to push the others towards the wooden plank. Many decided on the spot to stay from the promise of gold, others out of fear. ''Alex!'' Mick called out, ''What are we going to do?'' ''Well this island is not on any trade routes, nor do many ships pass by.'' Alex then bent down and picked up one of the many short swords from the deck, ''Yo ho and all that?'' Mick quickly grabbed a loss chain from one of the cargo crates, ''arhh?'' As Mick and Alex made their way to the 'safe' side of the ship the other crew members who still had honor and respect for their company were pushed onto the small island. Raven stood atop her crate with a smile on her face. ''It gets easier every time.'' She told herself as she looked out over the deck, looking for any sign of that huge cook or the little girl. |

Annie stood at the front of the group, awaiting the captain's arrival along with everyone else. When at last she appeared she was dressed to the nines and armed to the teeth. The crewmen around Annie began to panic a little when they saw this but she really didn't see the big deal if the boss lady wanted to change clothes. Plus anyone who didn't walk around with some kind of gun or a sword was just a sissy anyway. When the captain began Annie was only half listening. She wasn't a member of the crew so whatever was going on probably wasn't any of her business. But with the way the captain was yelling at them she was hard to ignore. "I am Raven! From now on this ship is under my command!" She proclaimed. Annie hadn't heard her name, real or an alias, until now so this part didn't really catch her attention. And wasn't she already in control of the ship, being its captain and all? ''Now, for those of you that can't sail under the command of a pirate...GET OFF MY SHIP!'' Came Raven's ultimatum. It most definitely did catch Annie's attention. "Oh yeah, gonna kill her now." Annie muttered to herself. She was still out of ammo but there were plenty of weapons floating around the deck. ''For anyone that stays and obeys me, you'll be treated to gold, and maybe more!'' Raven continued with a coy smile on her face. "Wait a sec." Annie froze, her hand hovering over a discarded cutlass that she'd been in the process of picking up. Gold? The crew was also weighing their options right now. Some were flocking to Raven's side while others were being ushered down the gangplank to the island below. Annie thought about it for a moment. Pirates generally sucked but pirates with gold were another matter entirely. She wasn't sure what Raven had in mind but it would probably be more interesting than just going back to Valua anyway. "Okay, I'll be your huckleberry." Annie laughed. She stepped over to Raven's side and took her place at the base of the crate she was standing on. "Uh.....so, what are we doing anyway?" ~ "So what are we doing again?" The obese cook asked curiously. "Cuz I haven't even had breakfast yet." "Non non non, we must leave here at once!" The chef with the obnoxious accent replied in a flustered tone. "Now down the ramp with you!" Borga stood at the top of the gangplank, looking down at the island below. "You want me to walk down this thing? It's too narrow! I'll break it!" "Walk softly then!" The chef replied. He placed his hands in the small of Borga's back and shoved him. Borga's mass didn't so much as budge. Borga crossed his arms and planted his feet. "I ain't going down there." He insisted. And it appeared that there was no way to move him either. Whoever was behind him would be stuck on the ship. "But....but.....you will miss the buffet!" The chef cried, suddenly struck by inspiration. "Quickly! We must secure our spots in the chow line before all the food is eaten!" "Buffet? On this island?" Borga asked in surprise. "Is that why we stopped here?" "Indeed! The finest food in all of Arcadia!" The chef continued on with his clever ruse. Borga squared his shoulders and looked at the gangplank with a new fervor burning in his eyes. "Alright then, stay close behind me! I'll get us to the front of the line, pronto!" With that Borga began a bouncing sort of waddle down the gangplank. After a half dozen steps he lost his balance and fell, rolling the rest of the way down. At the bottom of the ramp he bowled over a few of the sailors who were loitering there. "Mon dieu." The chef sighed as he began walking down after him. "I do hope we are rescued from this island before he gets hungry enough to eat us." |
