(OOC – Trying to stick as close as possible to what you’ve written in your last post. I took a little liberty with the last half of mine though. I hope that’s okay.) ''It's going to charge!'' Marionette called out a warning, ''Run for cover!'' True to his words the Tempest did indeed launch itself at the two bounty hunters with incredible speed. Annie was a bit quicker on her feet than Marionette and she managed to avoid the impact by strafing to the left, out of its path. Annie winced as every step she took sent a twinge of pain shooting up her leg. She'd probably sprained it in the fall earlier but she couldn't worry with that now. Annie set her jaw, enduring the pain and thanking the Moons her leg hadn't been broken instead. That would have sucked. As the Tempest rushed past Annie gave its body a quick inspection. She didn't feel that her initial response (shooting it in the head) had been wrong. But the creature's armor had been too thick for her weapon to be effective. "So where's your armor the weakest?" She wondered aloud. A heartbeat after this thought passed through her brain Annie received something of an answer. The Tempest's rear legs seemed to be only lightly armored when compared to the rest of its body. With her target chosen Annie let loose another burst of gunfire at the cybernetic horror’s right rear leg. With any luck she’d be able to slow it down a little. The Tempest had stopped for a moment, as if to admire the distance to which it had just sent Marionette flying. Annie didn’t wait around to see if her attack had done any damage. Instead she circled around behind the beast to repeat the process on its left leg. She felt safer now that she was in Tempest’s blind spot. It didn’t have eyes in the back of its head after all. Or did it? It certainly seemed that way to Annie right now. As she passed behind the Tempest it’s left rear leg, the very one she was trying to damage, lashed out, kicking her in the chest and sending her tumbling into the dirt. She slid for several feet, struck her head against a rock and promptly lost consciousness. ~ “Ow, what….sonuva…” Annie groaned as she sat up and tried to collect her wits. “What the hell just happened?” Her eyes opened blearily and she was treated to the sight of the Tempest stalking in her direction once again. “Oh yeah, now I remember.” Annie struggled back to her feet and shuffled out to meet it head-on. “I’ll bet a dollar to a doughnut you’re about to charge me again ain’t ya?” She grimaced as a whole new set of aches and pains made their presence known to her. As the two approached one another they began to move faster. Whether the damage Annie had inflicted to the Tempest’s leg slowed it at all was uncertain as the beast broke into a gallop. Likewise Annie ran towards it on her injured leg. There’d be time enough to hurt later. Right now she had business to take care of. The two came met a short distance away. As she’d anticipated the Tempest tried to gore and fling her like an angry bull. But this time Annie was ready for it. She dropped down low, sliding across the ground like a baseball player trying to reach home plate. The Tempest passed overhead just as Annie brought her machinegun up and fired. “Maybe you’ve got a soft underbelly eh?” Annie laughed as she emerged behind the rampaging monster. Unfortunately as the Tempest’s uninjured leg stomped down only inches from her legs the hem of Annie’s dress was caught on one of its toes. “Oh shi`! Whooaaa!” Annie screamed as she was dragged along behind the mechanical monster to wherever it was running off to next. |

Marionette stood up, fully functioning or as much as he could after such a beating from the mechanical beast. In the distance he could make out Annie fighting off the large creature. ''How do we stop this thing!'' He said to himself as he gazed up at the satellite. Just then a voice called across the whole island, ''Whooaaa!!'' It was Annie, she had got her dress caught on the Tempest's back legs as it ran around in the distance. Marionette knew he had to get over there and fast in order to help her out, but before he could even think of moving the Tempest stopped in its rampage. It slowly turned it's head to face the spot Marionette was standing in. Marionette looked up once more at the satellite, ''Oh, right...'' He muttered, now back online his energy was being picked up again. Tempest rushed over at him, but for some reason Marionette noticed it was a little slower than before. ''Could it be getting tired?'' He wondered as it approached, still dragging Annie along for the ride. He manage to dodge the beast this time, moving to it's left. As he dodge the beast he got a look at it's hind legs. There were marks where someone, probably Annie had been shooting at. ''No,'' he thought to himself, he knew the reason it was starting to get slow was not any kind of damage. This thing would fight on even without legs. Tempest turned around for another charge attack which had no clear direction. Not risking a side way dodge he dived onto his back sliding under the monster. As Tempest ran over him he grabded a hold of Annie, an attempt to pull her free. His claws did get a hold of her dress but as he rolled out of the way of Tempest he could not see if he had managed to get her free or not. As he stood Tempest was still running in the same direction of it's attack. He looked up once more at the satellite ''So your the eyes.'' He turned to look around the island were the ship once stood, ''So where is your power supply.'' Marionette remembered what Julian had once said, that Tempest had to run on a generator as it never had it's own power supply. The beast was slowing down, but not at a speed that was safe, it's attacks were getting more wild as time went on. Edited by Daiohma, Aug 21 2011, 06:08 PM.

Rocks and debris scraped against Annie's skin as she was dragged along behind the Tempest. She struggled to free her dress while maintaining her grip on her machine gun. For a moment it looked as if she'd gotten lucky. The Tempest came to a stop and Annie was able to wrench herself up the length of her torn dress and get a firm grip. But just as she was about to yank the scrap of fabric free the mechanical monster resumed its rampage, albeit at a slightly slower pace. As it lurched forward Annie lost her grip and found herself being pulled behind the Tempest again. A string of violent curses rose from the cloud of dust that her body was kicking up in its wake. Suddenly something large and heavy brushed past her. Annie had a fleeting glimpse of the Marionette. Had he been run down too? "Shrrriiiiiiip" came the sound of fabric tearing as his claw caught the hem of her dress. His attempt to free her hadn't gone as planned but it was successful nonetheless. Marionette's claw cut her skirt neatly from hem to waist, effectively depantsing Annie. Even as she tumbled loose from the fabric that had bound her Annie kept her grip on her torn skirt. She began dragging herself hand over hand, using it like a rope to slowly pull herself up its length. Once she'd climbed as far as she could Annie then used the up & down motion of the Tempest's leg to launch herself like a stone being thrown from a catapult. She rose from the ground just high enough to grab ahold of a machine's backside and pull herself up. For a few long seconds Annie stood atop the Tempest. Now clad in only her panties and stockings she glared down at the beast's back, a malevolent gleam in her eyes and a sadistic leer spreading across her lips. "Now that looks like a mighty spiffy target to me Bessie!" She screamed as she pointed her machine gun at the glowing cylinders that lined the Tempest's shoulders. Annie could feel her hair standing on end as the electrical current they were producing washed over her skin, leaving an unpleasant tingling sensation. Annie squeezed the trigger and opened fire upon the cylinders. Whether her attack had caused it pain or had just surprised the Tempest wasn't clear. In either case it bucked hard enough that Annie was thrown off of its back. Once again she landed in the dust, the wind being driven from her lungs. Annie slowly crawled to her feet to face the Tempest once again. "Serves you right for ruining my skirt you stinking pile of pig feces! And don't think you're not going to pay for it! 'Cause you are! You're gonna pay in spades!" And so, standing there in her underwear, holding her machine gun at the ready, Annie awaited the mechanical monstrosity's next move. |

Marionette took advantage of the fact Tempest was not focusing on Annie, after all she was now on it's back. He quickly looked around the area of land were the ship and research lab once stood. There had to be a large generator around some place. Just then he heard a gun shot, spinning around he saw Annie taking shots at Tempest while standing on it's back. She seemed to be aiming for the cylinders, a few shots hit which caused Tempest to go wild and tossed her off it's back. Marionette looked at the glowing cylinders, he recognized them for some reason. Just then he remembered, he looked around for the spot that would of once been the place of Julian's dome. After running over to it he took another look around, sure enoth he saw something glowing yellow in the distance behind a large rock. It was a huge cylinder, not connected to anything it had been tossed to one side from the attack which destroyed the ship. ''Must be connected, just like the satellite!'' He wondered out loud. He looked over his shoulder, Tempest was still attacking Annie, as he looked up in the sky it was clear he was out of view from the satellite. ''One way to find out!'' He called out as he started slamming his claws into the cylinder. The first few hits dented the device but soon his claws started to crack the cylinder. He then let out a powerful slam which caused the cylinder to crack, yellow liquid flowed down and across the ground. Huge sparks started to erupt from the huge device. Marionette ran for cover and hid behind a few small machines and a desk that had survived the Tempest's huge attack. The cylinder exploded, chucking large chunks of rocks all over the island, one just missing Marionette. He stood up and looked over at the cylinder, which was now just a small crater. ''Thats odd.'' He talked to himself as a screen on the nearby machine came on. It had Tempest's name on screen with what seemed to be a power indicator. Two bars appeared on screen, one with a timer counting down which he could make out was the Tempest's power supply. ''Great!'' He said out loud, ''Even if we can't destroy it, it will only function for another thirty minuets! Marionette then looked over at the other bar on screen. This one was rising and fast. ''Well that's not good!'' He shouted as he turned and ran towards Annie. |

Annie was out of ideas. She'd thrown everything she had at the mechanical horror and nothing she had done seemed to have phased it in the least. "So this mutha' is bulletproof, flameproof and runs on electricity." Annie took stock of the situation. She reached into her pocket and produced another grenade. "Well, it's worth a shot." She shrugged as she pulled the pin and tossed it. The grenade hit the ground several feet in front of the approaching Tempest. As it drew near a dull whump issued from the device and a thick cloud of noxious green gas began to billow out of it. Annie's Nerve Gas grenades had the same effect as a Noxus spell. If there was something alive inside of the Tempest's armored shell perhaps it could be poisoned. But just as the Tempest hit the cloud it accelerated, dashing at Annie once again. "Oh hell, no more running damn you!" She shrieked as she dashed for cover amongst the debris. She could feel the monster gaining ground on her as her eyes scanned the area for something to take cover behind. So intent was Annie on looking ahead of her that she didn't see the hole in the ground right at her feet. It was a two-foot deep trench that appeared to have been gouged into the terrain by part of the ship's hull during the Tempest's cyclonic attack. "Wuuff!" Annie gasped as she fell face-first into the depression. Her mechanical pursuer rushed past above. Lying in the trench Annie fought down the urge to curse and scream and throw things at the Tempest. First her skirt had been ruined and now the rest of her outfit was covered in mud. Instead she slowly raised herself up on her hands and knees to peer over the lip of the trench. The Tempest had overshot her and now had its back turned to her. Quietly clambering out of the trench Annie cast about and spotted a twisted chunk of heavy iron lying nearby. It was tall enough to hide behind and so heavy the Tempest wouldn't be able to smash through it. Annie crept over and took shelter behind it. Little did she know the satellite above was tracking her movements. Feeling she was safe for a moment Annie brushed some of the mud off of her clothing. Then, loosening the ties on her corset, she slid it down around her waist and tightened it once again, forming a makeshift skirt. Next Annie ejected the magazine from her weapon to see how much ammo remained. Only a few bullets were left. Dropping the nearly empty magazine Annie reached down to fish another out of her pocket. As her hand groped at her corset a look of sudden frustration and anxiety came across her dirt-smudged face. "Of all the......sonuva.....DAMMIT!" Annie screamed. Her spare magazines had been in the pocket of her skirt. As far as she knew that ruined article of clothing was still tangled around the Tempest's hind leg. Annie retrieved her dropped magazine and thrust it back into the machine gun. At most she had four of five bullets left. Not that they'd do her any good. "Well then, let's get this over with." She muttered as she stepped out into the open to make her final stand. |

The Noxus grenade exploded in Tempest's path as it dashed towards Annie. As she fell into the hole Tempest ran over head not seeing her. For a moment the creature stopped and shook it's head from side to side. Annie's early attempt at shooting Tempest in the head may at first not seemed to work, yet it did cause several small holes that the Noxus gas could get into effecting Tempest. The beast roared out loud, it's mind only set on destruction it did not for a moment care for it's own safety. Tempest turned to face were Annie was standing, she was out in the open standing just next to a heavy chunk of iron. The mechanical beast dashed at her once more only this time it's speed was much slower and it seemed as if it could no longer charge in a straight line. Approaching the girl one of Tempests back legs collapsed on itself from an earlier attack. Tempest went to the right and went head first into the chunk of iron. The impact caused the ground around it to shake. Marionette came running over calling out to Annie, ''We need to stop it NOW!!'' He stopped next to the young girl as Tempest pulled it's head away from the iron. ''It's losing power, but at the same time overcharging.'' Julian was working on Tempest, trying to fix it's weakness, the fact it needed a separate power supply. He had built a test type moonstone core inside of tempest but it was unstable and now it no longer has the separate power supply it had gone out of control, building up electric power. ''If it explodes it would easley take out the whole island with it!'' He told Annie in the short time it took Tempest to pick itself back up from it;s head ram. The beast was only feet from the two but did not even look at them, instead it charged again at the large chunk of iorn, the impact shaking the ground once more. Tempest repeatedly rammed the iron with it's head as if it had gone insane. Just then Marionette looked up at the satellite, ''can it no longer see us?'' He said out loud. The lights on the satellite had gone off now that the power supply had been cut off. The ground shook again as Tempest smashed it's head against the Iron with unbelievable force. This time the impact was followed with the sound of metal smashing. Marionette braced himself as the chunk of iron moved ever so slightly. The impact caused a cloud of smoke to rise, for a moment the two could only see Tempest's silhouette. It looked a little different for some reason. Then it happened, the sound of turbines spinning, two large shadows materialized out of the air above Tempest. ''Watch out!'' Marionette called to Annie, his call followed by the roar of Tempest as it let lose two beams of electricity at the two. Marionette only just dodged the attack but being so close it sent him flying backwards across the island. The felt the pain in his back as he landed against another chunk of the ship. ''How did it see us!?'' He wondered as he tried to pull himself up, the satellite was still in the sky but it was clear that it was now off line. Back on the other side of the island Tempest was still standing in the smoke just a few feet away from Annie. It started to walk towards her, the sound of metal falling to the ground followed each step it took. The smoke cleared to reveal that Tempest had used the large chunk of iron to smash away the metal around it's head. The sight of it's true head was only something Julian could of done to a living creature. It's eyes suddenly opened staring right at Annie, parts of it's armor falling off. The beast let out a mighty roar that had that feeling of death around it. The yellow cylinders on it's back started to glow as electricity started to spin around it's body. Parts of the metal around it's own body started to rip away. ''It is now of never!!'' Came Marionette's voice as he came running over. It was clear that he was in pain but that was nothing to what awaited them both if Tempest continued it's attack. |

Annie stood as still as a statue as the Tempest charged at her again. "Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. Well bub, I don't give a shit about that. Because I'm done runnin' and I ain't about to hide." Annie rasped in a voice full of venom. But her words also carried a hint of resignation. Much like the Tempest she knew she was about to die. But she wasn't going down without a fight. The Tempest drew closer as Annie raised her gun. Closer still and she took aim. Five bullets left and her enemy was bulletproof. The Tempest was nearly on top of her now. Annie squeezed the trigger. TATATATATATATATA! The short burst of gunfire struck the Tempest in its shoulder, bouncing off harmlessly. It didn't slow the beast by even a single step. Annie closed her eyes and braced herself for the impact that would likely shatter every bone in her body and crush her vital organs beyond repair. CLANG! "Huh?" Annie opened her eyes. She was still alive? And what of Tempest? Somehow, by some miracle it had veered off of its killing course and crashed into the iron plate next to her. "Hahahahahaaaaaaa!" Annie couldn't help but laugh in relief. And, to be honest, she found the monster's little accident to be as funny as hell. ''We need to stop it NOW!!'' Marionette cried as he approached her. Annie glanced at him and waved his concerns away. "I'd say he's pretty much stopped bro! Look at that dumbass! It knocked itself loopy! Hah hahahahaaa!" ''It's losing power, but at the same time overcharging.'' "Hahahahahaaaa.....huh? Overcharging?" Annie's laughter was cut off. "That doesn't sound too good." ''If it explodes it would easily take out the whole island with it!'' "Oh crap! Let's friggin' BOOK man!" Annie wigged out, dancing in a little circle as she sought the nearest escape path. But at the moment she didn't even recall how she'd gotten to the island, much less how to leave it. And then the Tempest began to stir. Annie looked on in dismay as the monster rose once again. But then it began thrashing madly at the iron plate, apparently having lost its mind. "AH HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!" Annie broke out into laughter again. "Oh man, what's his major malfunction? He's gone bat@#$& insane!" And then the Tempest turned to face them. "Ah hahahahaaaaa.....ah.....oh @#$&! Hit the dirt!" Annie cried out a warning a moment before the beast unleashed another blast of electrical energy. Marionette was caught in the current and carried away like a leaf on the wind. And as for Annie.... ~ Annie stood motionless as the twin beams flowed to either side of her, so close that her hair began to smoke and the edges of her clothing were charred black. Her eyes were closed and her body wracked with pain as the voltage washed over her. A single step to either side and she would be fried to a crisp. The beams eventually died down and for a few short seconds the island was blanketed in silence. A cold wind began to blow, clearing the air of dust. Annie opened her eyes and stared into those of her enemy for the very first time. The Tempest was horrific to look upon. Like all of Julian Neverswitch's creations it was to be pitied. Even a monster like this Kantor didn't deserve the suffering the insane doctor had inflicted upon it. Killing it would be an act of mercy. Annie wasn't thinking anything like that though. She didn't give a rat's ass about any of that namby-pamby bullcrap. All she knew was that she'd just been in one hellacious fight that was just about to end one way or the other. It was time for a showdown. Tempest began walking towards her. Annie stared directly into its eyes as she leveled her gun. "I know what you're thinking. Did she shoot four shots or five?" Annie smirked. "Well pal, I counted four. There's one bullet left and its got your name on it." The cylinders on the monster's back looked as if they were about to overload. It was probably gearing up for its final attack. ''It is now of never!!'' Marionette's voice cried out from a distance. "Damn straight." Annie answered as she pulled the trigger. The was a single crack of thunder as Annie's last bullet was sent on its way. It flew unerringly towards Tempest's unarmored head, tracing a straight line right into its temple. A single hole blossomed between its eyes and a thin trickle of blood oozed out. Annie lowered her gun. "Gotcha." She breathed. |

The huge beast stood frozen in it's tracks, blood running down it's head from the shot Annie had fired. It's cylinder's glow slowly died down as the creature slowly fell to it's knees. The noise of turbines from within it's body had already stopped. It's death was caused from the combined efforts of the two, the lack of a power supply slowing it down and the constant barrage of gun fire from Annie. Tempest had finally been stopped once more, only this time there was no mad man around to try and resurrect the beast. Marionette walked over to Tempest, using his metal claws he pushed it over onto it's side. ''Seemed like it's cooling down, but just to be safe.'' He ripped open the underside of Tempest revealing it mechanical insides. There staring back at the two was a large yellow moonstone wrapped in twisted metal and wires. Still somewhat unstable Marionette ripped it out from the Tempest to be sure that it did not explode. ''This maybe useful.'' He talked to himself as he covered the moonstone in torn cloth from the ground. He would have to get it to be cut down in size but the moonstone would become a useful life source for his own body, for a while. As he stood he looked around the island, Tempest had reduced the island to a wasteland of wrecked ships and dead He knew Julian and the others would of not had any use for anything the ships had to offer other than the crews, therefor the ships were more than likely full of gold and treasures, Supplies and weapons. However he had what he needed, yet he would check a few ships for anymore yellow moonstones. Marionette had a feeling Annie would take no time at all in searching the ships as he turned to her. He knew he need not tell her that she was welcome aboard his ship, if she wanted to she was probably the type to invite herself. Then again she might find a working ship on this island. ''Thank you for your help.'' He said to her as he stood up, It was somewhat a personal battle for him but as he thought it over he realized that if Julian let his creations lose then it would of been every ones problem eventually. ''Julian'' He mumbled to himself as he looked around the island, the many bodies all fried by the electrical attacks that went on. It would be hard to find him now and so he decided that it would be best to leave him were he was. After all how much more trouble can he cause being dead. With that Marionette took his Moonstone he had acquired and headed back for his ship. |

Annie lit up a cigar and took a long puff on it. She closed her eyes as she exhaled a haze of grey smoke from her nostrils. Now that the battle was over the adrenaline that had carried her through much of the night was beginning to ebb, leaving her feeling exhausted and spent. And yet Annie felt good at the same time. Her body ached all over and she looked like she'd been put through the ringer. But Annie had survived and that fact filled her with a sense of accomplishment. As she stood there next to the Marionette she gazed around the island, taking in the destruction. Her eyes were finally drawn to the lifeless form of the Tempest. Anyone else would have been traumatized by what they'd seen this night and probably wouldn't have survived. But to Annie it had been a good fight, one she would remember with pride for the rest of her life. ''Thank you for your help.'' Marionette offered as he examined the Moonstone he'd removed from the Tempest's body. "Yeah, no problem." Annie returned. "Mind if I bum a ride back to civilization from you?" ~ As the Silent Puppet lifted off from the island Annie sat in Marionette's study, resting upon one of his couches. She gazed silently out of the window as the island where she'd witnessed so many horrors faded into the distance. The gentle motion of the ship began to lull her to sleep. Annie closed her eyes and drifted off into a fitful slumber. The events of the night would replay themselves through her dreams but Annie wasn't one to lose sleep over nightmares. But her sleep was disturbed nonetheless. Suddenly Annie sat bolt upright, her eyes wide with shock. She glanced about nervously and then peered out the window. A troubling realization took root in her mind and she began to perspire, her breath ragged. Somewhere in the midst of all the chaos Annie had completely forgotten the reason she'd even come to this island in the first place. "OH @#$&! I forgot about the damn treasure!" |
