A lot of action was going down around Annie right now. There was the loud crash from a catwalk collapsing, blood and guts flying everywhere as Marionette took out the weird tank-man with the axe and that other guy shooting the place up.

Annie was frustrated that she wasn't adding to all the chaos. "If only these friggin' guns would reload themselves." She grumbled to herself as she fished the ammunition out of her pocket. But her attention was drawn away from that mundane task as yet another event took place.

Across the room the fifth and final marionette had made his debut. But this one was far different from the last one Annie had dealt with. This one was a male of Nasrean descent. He was not so slender or quick on his feet as the female had been. The exact opposite in fact. The last marionette had been very fat in life and that fact had not changed.

Annie could see that the creature's legs had been braced to support his great weight. Even now he was clomping towards her, his gait unsteady and slow. The weight he bore was not all in his gut however. Strapped to his back was what appeared to be a large tank, its contents unknown.

As with the others this marionette had prosthetic arms. His were the most ordinary yet, being normal length and having a set of very short hydraulic tendrils where its fingers would be. Its face was another matter however. This marionette seemed to be missing its entire lower jaw. In its place was a mechanical crusher with sharp "teeth" along its edges.

"Get him to move.....no! Not that way!" Came an agitated shout from behind the marionette. A trio of scientists were prodding at its backside with cattle prods in a bid to make it move faster. "Damn it! Victor, go get the Quika Box! Maybe that'll work!" One of them ordered. In response one of their numbers broke away from the group and went to retrieve the requested item from a bank of lockers set against the wall.

"Well I'll be hornswoggled." Annie whistled as she observed this. She shouldered her blunderbuss and strolled across the room, giving the marionette a wide berth. For the moment it was content to swat at the scientist with its mechanical arms and let her pass without a response.

She came up behind the scientist and smiled. "Whatcha doin'?" She asked sweetly.

"Getting this Quika Box." The scientist answered. Then he turned to face her and began to tremble in panic. "Y,you...you're that...." He stammered in a terrified voice.

"Here, hold this." Annie ignored him and thrust her blunderbuss into his arms. The scientist stumbled over in surprise but recovered enough to point the weapon at her. He squeezed the trigger several times to no avail. "It's empty dumbass." Annie sighed, rolling her eyes at him.

"Now, let's see what we've got here." Annie said, ignoring the scientist as she opened one of the lockers. It held only chains and restraints. "Nope." Another opened, this one containing lab coats. "Not this one." A third was opened and...."Jackpot!"

A blinding light seemed to appear around Annie and a heavenly chorus rang out as her gaze fell upon the most beautiful object she had ever seen in her entire life.

"It's......it's so.....so SEXY!" Annie cried in delight. It was a machine gun of Valuan make. It had a heavy wooden stock and a perforated barrel-guard. Best of all the drum magazine that was attached to it could hold lots and lots of bullets! Annie snatched the wondrous weapon down and admired it for a moment. "Now that's what I'm talking about!"

Now properly armed it was time to get back to business. Annie grabbed a handful of extra magazines from the locker and stuffed them into her pockets. That cheeky scientist had already slithered away with her old blunderbuss but that was okay. She had a new toy now. "But who, oh who, should I break this baby in against?"

As if in response a great gout of flame lit up the area behind her. She turned her attention back to the marionette to see that it had apparently gotten fed up with the scientists' poking and incinerated them both. Even now flames still licked from the creature's lower jaw with every breath it took.

"Oh really? You want a piece of me lard-ass?" Annie crowed, brandishing her new weapon. "Well then get ready for an all-you-can-eat buffet at the KICK-ASS CAFE!"

Annie launched herself forward at full speed, running straight at the behemoth. Another blast of flame deterred her but only for a moment. She strafed around to the marionette's side, visions of its fuel tank being shot full of holes and bursting into flames dancing in her head. The marionette was surprisingly agile for its size. It wobbled in a circle, keeping pace with her. Fire blasted from its mouth to lick only inches from her heels.

"Damn, you're quick for a fat guy!" Annie fumed as she backed off to think of another plan. But before the gears in her head had even begun to turn it seemed as if the electrical system in the room went haywire. There was a lot of voltage running all around her and then the lights went out.

And then "it" showed up.

Annie wasn't sure what "it" was and wasn't too concerned right now. What mattered was that the marionette was distracted by "its" arrival and was staring at the glowing creature as it stalked through the darkness.

Annie took full advantage of the distraction and raced up behind the marionette, drop-kicking it in the back of the head. The marionette's heavy upper body leaned forward, upsetting its precarious balance beyond recovery. It toppled over easily but before it struck the floor Annie made her next move.

"Oh yeah." Annie breathed as she squeezed the trigger on the machine gun. A split-second later a stream of lead slugs flew at high velocity out of its muzzle, arching in an unerring course towards the marionette's fuel tank. They struck, igniting sparks and punching holes in the container. The two met and the marionette took off like a roman candle across the room.

"FAT MAN ROCKET ATTACK!" Annie cried out as the marionette shot towards the Tempest. As far as an opening volley against the beast went it wasn't the most graceful but damned if anyone else could have pulled it off.

Blackman gave the friendly construct a weary look, before looking back at the great doorway.

“Personally, no, but I—”

The door exploded forth in a mix of blinding yellow and white, forcing Blackman to shield his eyes and turn away. No sooner had the blinding force assaulted the officer than it stopped, and in the total darkness Blackman found himself blinking away spots.

The creature’s roar was terror given form, and the yellow lines of the creature laughed in a tainted mockery of the trio’s hopes to win this battle.

Blackman frowned, and stood up; he safely reasoned that the cover of the desk would do little against this monstrosity, and he had a feeling that hiding from this creature would do little good. It wasn’t as though Blackman had a particular talent in that area besides.

“If you have any pertinent knowledge of this beast,” he calmly spoke the to his mechanized ally, his face calm; he seemed personally removed from the situation. Emotionless. Thinking. “Now would be the time to share.”

A rocketing form blasted across the room, ending its short, thunderous flight with a horrendous explosion of fire as it basted against the creature. Again Blackman found himself shielding his eyes, and again he found himself unable to make out much of anything.

Smoothly he lifted his revolver and pointed it towards where he saw the construct impact. He didn’t pull the trigger; his aim sagged. No, a few rounds could do ill good against the creature—not if shot directly.

“I find myself ill armed.” He stated simply, emotion still drained from his voice, announcing it to the darkness, hoping the other could hear. “First order of business should be getting some sort of light on in here—be it electric or flame—but that shall prove a challenge unto itself…”

Blackman found himself regretting that he had not brought a lantern with him.

Emotion—anger, frustration—flickering back on his face, the officer lifted his pistol once more and unloaded a pair of shots towards the glowing marks.

Julian would not stop laughing to himself, his face lit up from his control helmet.
His grin said it all, he knew he could not be touched while behind the huge screen and he was in full control of his greatest creation.

Tempest stood in the darkness, its bright yellow lights glowing and lighting up areas of it's metal body.
The very beast seemed to constantly give off electric charges, reason being that the entire ship had been converted into a huge power source to keep Tempest both operational and under human control.

Marionette looked on at the monster, he could not belive that this thing was built in the same lab as himself.
Were he was still what he would consider human this thing was just chaos in a body.

Suddenly there was a steam of loud shoots from the distance. Annie called out, "Oh yeah."
She had got herself a hold of a Valuan machine gun and took no time at all in testing it out on the fire based Marionette.

"FAT MAN ROCKET ATTACK!" She shouted as the fire man flew across the room right towards the Tempest.
The man collided with Tempest's head, bursting into flames.

Tempest did not seem to even move, the impact did not even make it flinch. It's head simply moved to face the direction that the man came from.
The direction that Annie was in.

''You think that will do anything to my child?'' Julian joked.
He knew he held all the cards now.

Marionette knew that this battle was not going to end well. Blackman came out from his cover and asked Marionette what Knowledge he had of the beast.
''All I know is it takes alot of power to keep it under control.'' Marionette was not sure why Julian would try to control the beast again after last time.

Just then Tempest let out another huge monstrous roar as it raised itself onto it's back legs. It them let itself come down on all fours, shaking the ground around it.
Shocks of electricity shot from it's body as it charged across the room at Annie.
The speed was fast for such a huge and heavy machine.

Marionette was for a moment in shock, ''It can see us!?''
From what he remembered Tempest was built to be a ravage war beast on the battle field, it did not rely on seeing it's target aslong as it caused colossal damage.

Laugher came from the corner of the room where Julian was seated.
''Haha, It would seem like I made a few 'improvements'!''

( From now on the dead line will be 5 days like the other boss battles since Karl is nolonger taking part.)

Annie grinned like a wolf as the Tempest turned towards her. "Oh, you want some of this big boy? Well bring it on! I've got a can of whoop-ass for you!" She screamed, patting the magazine of her machine gun.

And then the Tempest charged. Annie opened fire.

The thunder of its mighty tread competed with the barking chatter of Annie's machine gun. Her eyes blazed with malicious insanity as she pumped round after round into the oncoming behemoth. "Heh heh heh....heh heh....heh heh heh..." Pathological laughter bubbled up from the depths of her troubled psyche.

The Tempest never broke stride or even flinched as the bullets slammed into it. Annie's narrowed eyes began to widen in fear as it grew closer. "Heh heh......uh, huh? What the Hell is your problem? Just friggin' go down dammit!" Annie screamed, pointing an accusing finger at the monster that was bearing down on her.

The Tempest had closed half the distance already and it was picking up speed with every step. The sparks that flew from its body illuminated it in bits and pieces but Annie's mind refused to comprehend what she was looking at. Instead the voices in her head were screaming at her to run. "I guess I'll open up a can of haul-ass instead!" she finally relented and obeyed their wishes. Turning on her heel Annie swallowed her pride and ran for her life.

Despite the adrenaline that was beginning to surge through her veins Annie was running a losing race. She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck begin to stand on in as the massive creature closed the distance between them. She could feel the ground shake as its feet hammered the ground. And she could almost feel its hot breath stirring the air behind her.

And yet Annie did not look back. "Oh @#$&, Oh @#$&, Oh @#$&, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna FRIGGIN' DIE!" She gasped as the Tempest lowered its head and prepared to gore her.

At that moment Annie lost her footing. Perhaps it was the shock of the massive creature's hooves that did it. Perhaps she blundered into something in the darkness that engulfed her. Or perhaps she just clutzed out. Whatever the case Annie's tumble is what saved her life.

Just as the Tempest reached her she fell, avoiding the lethal charge. Instead she slid beneath its ponderous bulk as it passed overhead. Hooves flashed across the ground only inches away from her body and an electrical current crawled across her flesh like a swarm of insects. Annie could do nothing except curl into a quivering ball, pain-wracked ball and wait for the storm to pass.

When at last the Tempest had passed her by Annie stood up and collected herself. Her hair was frazzled by the static electricity and fanned out behind her head like a web. She opened her mouth to curse at the beast but her muscles were spasming so badly she couldn't articulate her tongue to do so.

Annie raised her gun to fire at the Tempest's hind end but quickly lowered it. Her experience with the female marionette was still fresh in her mind and she knew her aim wouldn't count for @#$& right now. At least not until her arms quit that infernal twitching!

Instead Annie chose to make the most of her opportunity. She was out of the Tempest's line of sight for the moment and she needed time to recover from her near death experience. The room was dark but Annie spied a dim glow in the gloom. Small yellow lights blinked on and off from a bank of control panels nearby.

Annie made her way over to them and slid into a sitting position behind the largest. They wouldn't offer much protection from the Tempest but hopefully she'd be out of its sight long enough to catch her breath.

“…And our best intelligence on the creature seems to be in ignorance. Splendid.” Blackman muttered to himself, looking away from Marionette.

The mighty explosion of fire did ill, and Blackman’s face only darkened further as he watched as the mercenaries next attack did just as little. What was this beast’s weakness? What were they doing wrong? There was a puzzle here to pick apart, and Blackman had little time to do so. Whatever the solution, however, his two greatest assets were clear enough; the half-machine man who knew this monstrosity—and her creator—better than any, and the gun happy woman who knew combat far better than any in the room.

Time was running out, and Blackman needed more clues.

He looks over to Julian’s shielded retreat. The weak point? But by all evidence the scientist was more entrenched than his creation. But… a moment… how did it all work? The Black Fleet officer was no scientist, but he hadn’t the slightest notion how this all worked; how did Julian issue orders—or was he at all?

“How does he control the beast? Or does he?” Blackman firing the questions at white plated figure even as he fired a few shots well above the beast’s head in a simple effort to distract it, and aid the woman as he could. The echoes of ricochet lasted a few moments after the gunfire rang out. “If we can sever that—if there is anything to sever—it might give us an edge; remove enough of its potential to avoid it.”

“Short of that, however, I don’t know there’s much we can do…”

Venomous eyes shot a death glare in the direction of the glowing shield protecting Julian.

“…But I sure as Deep Sky will try.”

''NO No NO!!, Stop and stamp, STOP and STAMP!!'' Julian was shouting out as he waved his arms around franticly.
''You charge at the girl then stomp on her, simple!''

It was starting to become clear that Julian did not have as much control over Tepmest as he belived he did.
He slapped his hands against his mind helmet. ''Stupid thing!''

His plan of having Tempest Run at Annie then stomp on her did not go to plan as Tempest just ran over her,
almost as if it had no interest. Something was not right.

As Annie ran for cover Marionette and Blackman would most likely be the next targets.
Tempest let out another roar, one that caused a few of the closer machines in the room to start over charging.
Shocks of electricity shooting out all over the place.

Marionette turned his head with Julian in his sight, he had a feeling of hatred in him.
The fact that this psycho wanted to control others was just sick and twisted.

Tempest turned at the same time Julian turned his head.
He had not seen Blackman thanks to the darkness, but Marionette's moonstones made him a dead giveaway.
''What to do with a reject puppet?'' He joked from the safety of his glass dome.

In the distance came the sound of heavy stomps, Tempest had turned to face Marionette head on.
''Now Tempest!'' Julian shouted out, ''Electro fusion!''
There was a moment of silence as Tempest just stood there.
Suddenly it let out another roar as it dashed towards Blackman's location, stomping on the close by machines.
''No No No!! You do as I say!!'' Julian started to moan again.

Tempest ran around the room, giving of large electric shocks from it's body, hitting walls and the ground in random spots.
Marionette quickly rolled out of the way of the beasts huge front claws, getting hit in the back by a bolt of electricity.
It was not something that would harm him thanks to the way he was created with Yellow moonstones, but that did not stop it from hurting.
For a moment he could not move, but Tempest was acting like a crazed animal and was knocking over everything in it's way.

After a good five minuets Tempest seemed to clam down.
The room even in the darkness was even more of a mess than before.

Marionette managed to pull himself up but could not locate the other two in the room.
He could only hope that they had survived the Tempest's outrage.

As he stood he heard that stupid evil laugh.
''Haha, you'll never get away from me now!''

Marionette realized that he had his back right next to Julian's Glass dome and that across the room Tempest was face to face with him.
A few more shocks came from the beasts back as it started to stamp it's feet against the metal floor.

''NOW!!! Let us try this again!'' Julian shouted across the room as he hit his helmet.
''Electro fusion!!''

Marionette looked on at the beast in the distance, it's moonstones and electric parts of it's body the only things clear in the darkness.
The silence was shattered by the sound of turbines gaining speed, sparks flying from Tempest's body.
Just then above the shoulders of the beast two glowing yellow moonstones seemed to materialize out of the air.
These were quickly followed by flashes of metal, indeed something was materializing out of the air onto the creatures back.

A huge flash of light that only lasted a second made it clear that the Tempest now had what seemed to be large cannons on it's back.
As fast as the things appeared they shot two huge beams of pure yellow moonstone power shot across the room.

''Hahahahahaa...wait what!?!'' Julian screamed as he realized that in the seconds that Tempest unleashed his cannons that Marionette had moved out of the way and now the only target that was about to be hit was him!
The blast hit the Glass dome shattering the top half. The beams did not stop there as they acted like they were made from rubber, bouncing from the corner of the room and towards the three survivors.

Annie's rest break was cut short as the Tempest began running amok. Apparently its creator didn't have full control over the beast. She hauled her aching body to its feet and ran towards the only thing in the room she could see; the glow from Julian's protective sphere.

"Stupid lousy piece of @#$& no good son of a @#$& monster!" Annie screamed at the Tempest as it raced past her on the opposite side of the room. "What the Hell are you doing? Running a marathon or something?"

Well whatever it was doing the Tempest was giving Annie the chance to move herself to a better position. She should have been thankful for that but right now she was just pissed off and wanted to break something.

"GYAH!" Annie cried as she did indeed break something; her face. In the dark of the room she tripped over a piece of debris, one of many that now littered the Tempest's path of destruction. Muttering a string of obscenities she climbed to her feet again and fixed Julian's dome with an angry glare. Sitting smugly behind that barrier was the person who was responsible for all of this.

Plus he would probably be easier to wail on than the monster.

"RREEEAAAARRRGH!" Annie let out a war cry as she dashed the rest of the distance to the dome. When she was only a few feet away she leapt forward and drop-kicked its face. The dome didn't give an inch and Annie fell to the ground again. She was back on her feet again in seconds. Her mouth opened and a long, loud and very offensive series of insults and curses aimed at Julian Neverswitch spewed forth.

Annie was about to follow up with a barrage of bullets, also aimed at Julian, but the Tempest was headed her way again and she wasn't about to give the beast a second opportunity to trample her. Reckoning that Julian wouldn't allow his pet monster to harm him she ducked behind his dome for protection.

For a few moments she managed to stay out of harm's way by keeping the structure between herself and the rampaging beast. "Hey Tin Man!" She called out to the Marionette who was standing on the other side of the dome. "Let's try to break this thing! Whaddaya say?"

''NOW!!! Let us try this again!'' The mad scientist called out to his monster. 'Electro fusion!!''

"Ulp! That doesn't sound good!" Annie whined as the Tempest began gearing up to unleash a powerful attack. Sure enough a few seconds later it fired off a huge blast of electrical current. And of course she was standing right in its path.

"HIT THE DIRT!" Annie screamed, throwing herself to the ground. Fortunately for her the beam struck Julian's dome, shattering it. Somehow the glass reflected the beam and sent it streaking in another direction. Annie gathered her legs beneath her and dove forward, tucking and rolling as one of the beams passed across the ground where she had just been laying. A blackened, smoking line was left in the wake of its passing.

Climbing to her feet again Annie dusted herself off and took stock of the situation. The first thing she noticed was that Julian's dome had been shattered. "Oh, nevermind! I've got it!" She called out to the Marionette who might have been dead by now for all that she knew.

An evil grin spread across Annie's lips at the thought of what she was about to do. Reaching into her dress pocket she pulled out one of her grenades and estimated how hard she'd have to throw it to drop it in Julian's lap.

Marionette picked himself up from the ground, it took him a moment to realize just what had happened. The room was still as dark as night but the shimmering light of the Tempest was still clear on the other side of the room.

He stood up, leaning against one of the many shattered lab cabinets.
Looking around he saw Julian was still within his dome, just that now it was cracked.

The floor was now a mess, huge lines where the Tempest's attack had burnt away the metal. The beast itself was not moving, just standing there on the other side of the room. Something was wrong with it, no doubt there.
Marionette could not locate the other two, it seemed that they did not make it. That was until he heard a voice from Julian's direction.

"Oh, never mind! I've got it!"
The voice was clearly Annie's. Marionette had no idea what she was going on about but as the dust settled his Moonstone eye picked up another person near to Julian's dome.
It was Annie who was holding a small object in her hand.

''Grenade!'' Marionette said to himself, he knew Julian had to be stopped, but there was so many things he still needed to know from that man.
Before he could even think of making a move Annie had already tossed the Grenade into the top of the dome.

~
''Ah my head!'' Julian called out, he was taken by surprise.
It was a stupid move to not realize he was in the range of Tempest's attack.

As he rubbed his head he noticed his left hand controller was prolonger working. Julian looked over at Tempest who was standing still with it's front left leg off the ground.
''Stupid Beast...'' He muttered under his breath, not realizing his dome was now shattered.
Just then a figure in the dark caught his attention, someone was standing right next to his dome.

Julian turned his head, facing the girl eye to eye. ''Hello my pretty' He laughed as he pointed at her, but to his surprise Tempest did not move.
''Gah! You stupid beast!!''

While he was yelling at his own puppet he did not realize that Annie had tossed a grenade into the dome, It landed right on his lap.
''What is this!?'' He called out not realizing what he now held in his hand.

''Gahhh!!!'' Was the next thing he shouted as he dropped the grenade and tried to climb out of the dome, the shattered glass cutting his hands.
Not that he care, he just wanted to be far away from that grenade.
Just as he was about to pull himself from the dome there was a split second of light just as the grenade went off.

The explosion shot him out of the dome head first, glass and blood rained across the room.
Julian looked up from the ground to see Annie only feet away from him.
''You stupid little girl!!'' He yelled as he tried to pick himself up. As he did he found himself falling back to the ground in agony.
He turned to look behind him, all he saw in the darkness was a trail of blood where his right leg once was.

''What have you done to me!!'' He yelled again as he turned to face Annie, pulling himself up to lash out at her. But as he moved he felt something heavy fall from his own head. Before his eyes he watched as his control helmet fell to the ground.
The explosion had damaged the helmet, ''Oh no, OH NO!'' He called out in shock.

His words were answered by heavy foot steps.
He slowly turned to see Tempest walking towards him.
''Now now, easy there.''He tried talking to the beast, ''Remember, I'm your master....''
Tempest now stood over Julian, steam coming from what appeared to be it's face.

''Obey me you reject excuse for a marionette!'' Were the words Julian called out in anger as it seemed like Tempest had become free from his control.

~

Marionette watched on as the grenade shot Julian out of his dome.
Tempest was now standing over it's old master.
''Not good.'' Marionette called out to Annie, ''Get out of here!!''

Tempest let out a huge roar which felt like it was shacking the very ship that they were in.
It was not the roar but the Tempest's turbines which were shacking the ship.
The beast lowered it's body as it's own legs seemed to open up. hundreds of tube like arms shot out and attached to the ground.
Electricity coming from each 'arm'. The back of Tempest also opened as glowing yellow tubes extended, each spinning with the power of electricity.

''E.N.D!!'' Marionette shouted in shock, a Sp move he was all to familiar with.
He ran towards the far side of the room and swung his claws into the ground as hard as he could, ''Both of you! Hold onto something NOW!!''

No sooner as Marionette spoke Tempest let out another roar.
Large amounts of electricity was now spinning around the monster. As it got faster objects in the room from small knifes to large tables lifted of the ground, spinning around the Tempest.
As soon as they objects reached what seemed top speed the very walls of the ship started to bend. It only took a few more seconds and the walls ripped from the ship, also spinning around in the air.

It was almost as if Tempest was causing some kind of electromagnetic vortex around the ship. Another loud roar was let out as Tempest released the energy.

The whole ship exploded sending huge metal walls and the many dead bodies across the island. Marionette pulled his claws from the ground, looking around to see if anyone had survived.
Not too far from him was a body, smoldering from the attack.

He turned the man over with his claws, it was hard to tell at first who it was, but the grin said it all. Julian had been under the Tempest when it used E.N.D. He had no chance of surviving.

Marionette felt both glad and sad by this.
The monster who went by the name Julian Neverswich was now dead, but so was what he knew about Marionette's own past.

As he looked up at the night sky a bolt of lightning caused him to look over at a nearby rock formation.
Someone was standing there in the distance, Marionette ran over to help the person out.
As soon as he got closer he stopped in his tracks, the man was Blackman. his body was pinned against the rock by a large metal lab table.

Marionette knew the table would of probably crushed him to death, but there could always be hope, that was until the table slowly fell to the ground.
It was not the table holing him against the rock but what was on the table. A large metal Marionette arm.
Blackman was more than likely caught up in the Tempest's attack, tossed around the air and slammed into the rock, probably followed by the table and arm.

Marionette looked away, then he remembered Annie.
''Annie!'' He called out, but it was not her that replayed.
A large sheet of metal moved as Tempest raised from the wreckage of the ship.

(we are now on a 3 day deadline! Tempest is now out in the open and can now be harmed!
Warning however, he is no longer under Julian's control!!)

Annie pulled the pin on her Incendiary and tossed it up and into Julian's shelter. She cackled with malicious glee at the look of surprise that broke out across the scientist's face when he realized what she had just done. Her laughter intensified as Julian desperately tried to escape his fate.

He was only marginally successful. The grenade exploded, releasing the equivalent of a Pyri spell inside of the broken dome. Although its top was shattered its walls were still solid. So rather than generating an impressive blossom of flame like it should have the flames instead leapt straight up along the path of least resistance through the broken ceiling. Julian went along for the ride though, shooting out of the dome like a roman candle.

The injured scientist landed a short distance away and, for the moment, his control over the Tempest was broken. The mechanical creature stood frozen some distance away. Taking stock of all of this Annie couldn't resist the urge to gloat over her small victory.

"Well la-di-dah! Was that hot enough for you bub?" She chortled as she stood over Julian's prone form. "If not I can send you somewhere hotter!"

''You stupid little girl!!'' Julian ranted as he tried to attack her. But he seemed to have lost a limb during the explosion and was unable to rise. "What have you done to me?!'' He shrieked upon making that discovery.

"Looks like I just @#$&ed you up real good didn't I?!" Annie returned. But Julian wasn't paying attention anymore. Instead he had realized he'd lost his control apparatus along with his leg. "Huh? What's up doc?" Your little pet on the fritz again?" Annie snorted, still gloating over her enemy's predicament.

The heavy tread of the Tempest's feet signaled its approach. "Well, I'll just let you sort things out amongst yourselves. Smell ya later doc!" Annie offered before she dashed away, leaving the mechanical monster to its revenge over the man who had kept it under his thumb all this time.

~

''Not good. Get out of here!!'' Marionette’s voice caused Annie to spin around. The Tempest was standing over the body of its creator but rather than just crushing him beneath its heel it looked as if it were preparing to unleash another powerful attack.

“Oh crap! It’s doing that flashy stuff again!” Annie called back as she broke into a run towards the Marionette. Before she could even reach her fellow bounty hunter the air around them was filled with electricity. Annie put on a burst of speed and did her best to follow Marionette to wherever he was leading her. Hopefully they’d both be safe there.

“Move it or lost it jackass!” Annie called out to Blackman who stood mesmerized by the Tempest’s actions. “Look at the pretty pretty lights later buddy!”

The pretty lights intensified into a small lightning storm that lit up the darkened interior of the ship. “E.N.D!! Both of you! Hold onto something NOW!!” Marionette cried out a warning. The cyborg threw himself to the ground and dug his claws into the floor.

Annie was following closely behind him and nearly tripped over him when he did so. “HEY!” She croaked, catching herself. And then Annie stumbled again, this time being shoved from behind by a strong force emanating from the Tempest. Recalling Marionette’s words she followed his example, throwing herself to the ground and holding onto his ankle for dear life.

The force grew stronger, sending the contents of the room whirling about. Heavy machinery and debris were tossed about as easily as leaves blown by the wind. Annie winced as her body was pelted by bits of stone and splattered by blood leaking from all of the corpses that had been piled up during the evening’s violence. “Whooooaaaaaaa!” She screamed in one long, loud utterance as her body was lifted up by the force, taxing her grip on Marionette’s leg.

And then the force became too strong and Annie’s grip was torn away.

“Annie!” Marionette’s hollow voice called out from the darkness.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m still kickin’.” Came her less-than-energetic reply. Annie limped back into view and rejoined him in the center of the wreckage. She was covered from head to toe in dirt, streaked with blood (not her own) and her clothing sported several tears. And through some miracle Annie had managed to hold onto her weapon.

Annie’s hold on Marionette’s ankle hadn’t been quite as strong, being her off hand and all, but she had managed to cling to him long enough for most of the flying debris, and even the walls, to have been swept away. When she had finally been pried free there wasn’t much left in the area for her to crash into. Instead Annie had been swept up into the air and then tossed out into the dirt beyond the ship’s ruined interior.

Annie was bruised, battered and bloodied but hardly beaten. At least not yet. She briefly glanced over at Blackman’s carcass, which was now pinned to a large rock like a malevolent insect in some child’s bug collection. Annie saluted him once and then turned her attention back to the living.

“So what happened to Frankenstein and his pet monster?” She asked. A moment later and the question was answered for her. A heavy sheet of metal that had fallen loose from the ship’s hull was cast aside as the Tempest freed itself from the wreckage.

Annie grimly raised her machine gun. “Well, you’re a stubborn one.” She muttered as she took aim. With a squeeze of the trigger Annie sent a hail of bullets arching towards the Tempest’s head. That was usually the weak point on any sort of creature and, at the moment, it was the only strategy Annie could come up with.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m still kickin’.” came Annie's voice as she met up with Marionette.
Her question was soon answered as Tempest showed itself once more. The large creature stood facing the two survivors, scraping it's claws against the cold hard rocky ground.

“Well, you’re a stubborn one.” Annie let out as she fired a hail of bullets at the Tempest's head.
Sparks shot from the impact as the bullets scraped the monster's face leaving only small marks. Tempest let out a roar, somewhat annoyed by the attack. It then lowered it's head towards Annie, the generators on it's back glowing as they started to spin again.

''It's going to charge!'' Marionette called out to her, ''Run for cover!''
Marionette's words were quickly cut sort as Tempest rushed the two, it's speed was impressive for the size of the beast. It caught the two off guard as it made contact with the two.

Marionette was sent high into the air, the impact had sent him across the small island where he landed on the top deck of one of the many abandoned wrecked ships.
As he slowly stood up he held his head, ''Man that hurt!'' He muttered to himself.
It seemed thanks to his own body being the same material as Tempest's that the electricity did not effect him. However the power of the beasts impact had cracked part of his chest armor.
Looking around he could not see where Annie had gone, he could only hope that she was not killed in the attack.

Tempest was standing just below him now, the spot he was once standing with the young girl.
It seemed like Tempest had no idea that Marionette was just above him.

''Looks like Im in a good spot to figure out a plan of attack.''
Marionette looked up at the ship's mast, it was a reinforced one which could cause alot of damage if dropped on the Tempest,
Or so he thought to himself. He thoughts were cut short as he heard the Tempest roar again, ''No way!'' He called out as he turned just in time to see Tempest leap into the air right at him. The large best smashed into the wooden ship, shattering the decks and taking Marionette along for the ride.

The ship shattered as clouds of smoke rise from the remains.
Tempest stood in the center of the wreck leaning over Marionette's body.
It did not look at Marionette but simple stood there as if it was thinking, it then turned and walked away.

Marionette could not belive his luck, why did the monster not kill him!?
As soon as he tried to move he realized that his body was off line, his moonstones in his arms and torso were almost black.
only his eye was slightly glowing.

Marionette laid there, unable to move his body. His mind however was still working as was his repair program.
It would only be a matter of minutes for his moonstones to reconnect his body to his mind.

He could not help but wonder why Tempest did not finish him off, even if it appeared he was dead that would surly not stop a monster like Tempest from having a ago at him.
That was when he spotted something high in the night sky. A quick yellow flash, not once not twice, it seemed to flash every three seconds.

Using his moonstone eye he zoomed as far as he could, it was a sterlite. On the side was what looked like the old Valuan embelem.
''My moonstones!'' He wisperd, his moonstones were damaged and so his body was not being suppled with energy.

''Tempest could not see me as my body has no energy right now!''
Julian had designed Tempest to use a separate satellite which allowed the beast to see energy patterns from above.

Slowly as Marionette regained movement to his body he pulled himself up to see that Tempest was now walking towards a set location.
''Annie!'' Marionette called out as he tried to stand.
