Profile Information
Birthday: January 18, 1979
Nationality Coai'Orodian (native Terasian)
Race Dark Elf
Rank/Occupation Noble (Mage, Governor)
Appearance Though tall for a Dark Elf, Kimari stands at about 5 ft 2, well below the averages of most of the races save for Hobbits and Dwarves. She keeps her midnight black hair tied up, but if it were allowed to loosely fall down it would reach down to her shoulders in length. She has brown eyes, and a fair skin with a rosy complexion, though with her being a Dark Elf it can still be considered to tend towards pale.

Appearance wise, Kimari is every inch the noble. Being a member of a race renown for its mercantile skill, showing off just how good a merchant you are in the form of jewelery and other displays of wealth. She wears long earrings with an intricate design of gold, an equally intricate silver necklace with matching bracelets and a net with several jewels embedded in it to keep her hair tied up. She also wears makeup, using cool pink and purplish tints of blush and lipstick to counter her own rosy skin. She has a monocle with a framed golden gallery, custom made to fit her eye, but only really needs it for reading.

The same applies to her clothing. Gowns and evening dresses are just about the only thing she can be seen wearing on any occasion, having her servants take care of mundane and everyday matters as she focuses entirely on etiquette. Though she is capable of casting offensive magic, and quite skilled when it comes to the fire element, she only does so as either a last resort or when she feels decorum and diplomacy is wasted on someone.
Personality Kimari has a neutral outlook on life, tending towards neither optimism nor pessimism. She is a rational yet imaginative thinker that prefers to stay focused on her goals, believing that the chances you get in life are the once you create for yourself, rather than doing nothing and waiting for something to fall into your lap.

She enjoys being around other people, allowing her to use the full extent of her abilities in convincing them to do what she wants them to. This alone grants her the confidence she needs to follow through on any plan she devises, knowing she has at least a few cards up her sleeve in any situation. Cold and calculating, she is capable of turning on her allies of the moment if she believes it will work in her advantage, and even then has several other alternatives at the ready in case her priorities would change.
History Kimari was born as the heir to a small noble family of Dark Elves in Teras. Though they were far enough down the line that they would never be able to sit on the throne in her lifetime, the status of noble brought with it some benefits that came in useful. She was raised to be the heir, decorum and ettiquette instilled in her since birth, and when the time came that she became the Head of the family at age 50 (with no small effort on her behalf to outmaneuver her siblings) much was expected from her.

Now with the resources of the family at her disposal, she wasted little time in getting to work. Within another sixty years, her family had started rising to power, absorbing several other small Houses into her own as her territory expanded. Of course, no swords were raised in these matters, but all of these acquisitions were the result of backroom politics and -- in some cases -- what could be called bought, using sheer monetary value to 'aid' the recieving House into seeing things her way. That said money would indirectly be her property again after the merger was something that was either overlooked by the unwary and considered an accounted loss when dealing with the more 'politically apt' Houses.

It was after her House had acquired the last small House in the area bordering her own that her House hit an impasse. The area under her control now bordered that of two Earls and a Duke, and with her being a 'mere' Baroness she found herself with a lack of weight to throw around, her lower rank of nobility meaning she should defer to them. She could have managed a Viscount, given time, but the gap in ranks meant it was all she could do not to lose the lands under her control to them, lands which she held in an iron fist that lay hidden under a layer of velvet.

And then, some seventy years later, Coai'Orod fell to the armies of Daemon. Rumors of a great amount of Dark Elves helping him in the attack made their way to Teras, and Kimari soon found herself struggling to hold on to her sphere of influence as she was one of the noble Dark Elven Houses, thus taking the full brunt of the negative impact this news had on her relations. Intent on finding out what her options were, she tried to appease the higher ranking nobles surrounding her while secretly opening negotiations with the new Coai'Orodian ruler. Thus, when the Duke chose to invade and conquer her lands using his military, he found that Kimari had already left, taking most of her assets and posessions with her.

Finding herself snuck to Coai'Orod, she was promoted to the rank of Countess by Daemon as part of the agreement (he had been unaware of her situation, which she had gone great lengths to hide), and assigned an area just north of the mountain ranges separating them from the Great Alliance. Not aganst the border itself of course, as that area was still raided and under martial law, but the area north of it was still considered to be relatively safe from the rebels while being far enough from the capital to keep any thoughts of marching an army to take the city by surprise like he had done out of her head.

Yet, she had learned from her situation in Teras, and now started to build an army of her own. Intent on not making her past mistake again, she had all of her servants trained in the ways of assassination and combat, as well as fortify her estate into an elaborate fortress. Oh, it still looked like an estate with some minor fortifications on the outside, but a numerous amount of stairs (giving defenders the advantage of higher ground), a small river (doubling as a moat) and a structure of mazelike hallways of varying width inside to throw off attackers were all implemented.

Being content with the changes made (and because her estate now looked like one big construction site) she decided to inspect her lands. During is time, she came across a faerie that had been left abandoned to die in one of the Shadow's 'research facilities' and, intrigued by its strange appearance, saw to it that the young creature regained its health. It took little enough time and money to adopt it as a pet project of hers, and its loyalty might even pay off at some point or another.

As it turned out, the creature -- who had by now introduced itself as Mara -- showed some aptitude acting as a messenger for her, later on being given more important tasks like spying once her loyalty had been sufficiently proven. Almost as an afterthought, Kimari started putting her through the same assassin training all of her other servants were now well versed in, and was surprised to learn the young faerie showed remarkable aptitude in the trade. After she reviewed the results at the end of basic training, she contacted Daemon about her, and had her enrolled in the Shadow Academy to recieve a full assassin training. She would return 'home' to teach her servants what she had learned there, allowing her to keep the training of her personal servants secret from anyone else, Daemon included. After the work on her main estate had been finished, she sat on her throne, deciding which of the plans she had devised would be the first to return results...
