Nationality Teras
Race Human
Rank/Occupation Paladin of Katim's Hand
Appearance Galvin is tall, intimidating, has a very rugged face which he gets from his father. He rarely shaves, save for a special occasion which would require him to do so. His hair is a light blonde and his eyes have a bright blue glint to them that is said to seem to reflect light. He has a very tan complexion from his constant training out in the sun. He has a very muscular build that is also a result of his training. His appearance alone has cowed more than one trouble maker into line in Auben. He keeps his appearance as much as he can to stark clothes that though fine cut are not flashy, preferring to keep him in darker colors and somber clothes showing nothing save the mark of his order.
Personality Galvin is a typical member of his order; he would die to defend either the Triad or his own personal honor. He tends to come of as cold and undiplomatic to those who do not know him, but this is only a product of his training within his order. He cares deeply for his family and would do anything to defend the Triad from the evils of north. He knows the system of courts well and is respectful to any he comes across, whether they are king or commoner. He lives by the code of his order, Esarus thar no'Darador. Galvin has a deep voice that can seem intimidating and makes him seem more a man of ice than he is. He has little interest in what his subordinates of his order have to say and is close minded to anyone he thinks has less knowledge than he does, and this has gotten him in trouble more than once with his senior paladins. His deepest rooted fear is being cast from the order, for without it in his mind he would have no identity.
History Galvin was born into a low ranking noble family of Teras, the youngest of the 5 children he always felt he had to work himself to the breaking point to get his fathers attention. With two older brothers who were both strong warriors in the king’s army and two sisters who had become ambassadors for Teras, Galvin was determined earn his families respect. As the youngest in the family he was often coddled by his mother in many things and this only made him all the more determined to prove himself. At the age of 5 a man passed through the city of Auben, what caught the young Galvin’s attention was that this man wore the symbol of Katim on his chest, and the priests at the temple treated them as if he was one of their own. He asked his mother who these strange people were and she said to him quietly and almost absent mindedly “They are the paladins of Katim’s Hand my son, come we must be going.” Katim’s Hand. Galvin saw the respect these people commanded and vowed he would earn that respect for himself, so the next day he asked the paladin what it took to become one of their order. The young man told Galvin to come visit the temple in a year and the priests would tell him what was needed. So for a year Galvin waited and when the day finally came he went back and asked the priests what was needed to join Katim’s hand. They told him what he would have to do to join the holy order, leave for 12 years of training at the army camp and another 3 in Dorn, but Galvin was undeterred and told his parents of his plans. His father was ecstatic that his son would be joining Katim’s Hand but his mother was worried of losing him. Despite this the next morning he set off for the Army camp to become a Paladin of Katim’s hand.

His training was the most brutal thing he had ever experienced, at 6 years old he was not ready for what was expected of him and got into trouble often because of it. He was sent to Dorn to start his training in healing because of his age and found himself surrounded by people who didn’t truthfully believe that he belonged there. The healing that Galvin was able to master was minimal at best but he did learn enough after his first three years that he was allowed to continue on to the martial part of the training, and for the next 12 years of his life he was taught to fight for honor and the Triad. After 15 years of training Galvin has finally been anointed by his order as a true Paladin and is striving to prove himself worthy of his nations and his orders respect.
