Ken's tutorial for making BB coding clan pictures using the following tools: - A picture - 2 websites - Patience (it takes about 5 minutes max.) First step: Take a random picture, we'll be using this one as picture: http://home.tiscali.nl/appossie/K-boot/Smiley.png Now what you want to do is save it on your pc. Like this: ![]() "Afbeelding opslaan als" = "Save image as" Second step: Awesome! We now have our image! What should we do with it? I know! Lets google for some info! Searching, searching, ah what is this? http://text-image.com/convert/ Hit the link and do the following part: ![]() Just browse for your image, load it, fiddle a bit with the numbers, as far as I know the max width is about 60 - 65. I had some problems in the past with larger numbers. And then hit convert. Sidenote: You can try and play a bit with the numbers to see what you get, also try and toy around a bit with the dropdown boxes. Third step: Yay, there's my image! Huh, I copy paste it and all I get are numbers?? This is pretty 'tricky'. You'll have to search the source code for your image, you can do this by doing the following: ![]() "Pagin bron" = "Page source" or something like that, anyhow, click on it and a new screen will pop up, now you'll need to be looking for a line of long coding this is how it looks like: ![]() See the long line of coding, it looks quite familiar now does it? It's html coding, BB-coding is somewhat an equivalent to it. Anyhow, what you want to do is copy paste the following line:
Just copy paste it somewhere, in notepad, or any other text tool. Fourth step: Woot, I have now a big file in notepad! What now? Easy, google is your friend mates! Just go to the following site: http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/html2bbcode/ and paste the whole line of code there, hit convert, et voilĂ ! Your image in BB-coding! Now wasn't that easy?

![]() I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness. We live in a society where pizza gets to your house before the police. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. Having sex is like playing bridge. If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand. | |

Why make it here? Because this does belong in the GFX yes, but it does belong to LA too. And nobody cares about the ICT part, it was a huge fail on the previous forum and so is it here. Just sticky it so if people want to make some LA gfx, they can find it under the LA forums. |

Seeking the source code is easier if you copy the result into word, save as html web page, open it, get the source code. There are other ways to do this as well. I can still do the old ways where you either do it from the top of your head or you place a pic behind a field of @'s or something and give the @'s the colour of the pixel/area of pixels behind it. |

I call that time consuming whilst my way costs only the time your browser takes to upload the picture and convert it. |

It used to be like that you know. It used to take hours to make a logo. Taking care in precisely building your field in such a way that it fitted the entire picture well enough to trace out the lines and colouring. Then you'd need to find out which hex code befitted the chosen colour best. Took a lot of time and effort. Can't remember who's idea it was exectly. But the first of the more impressive logo's was made by Tiana and took her an extremely long time. What she did was use paint and note the rgb colour codes for each pixel and transferted them into a hex. Took forever. Untill the site was discovered. I believe it wasn't that long tehreafter. |

Ah, that way. Found it a long time ago. Anyhoo, I'm considering writing a quick little program to do all that in one go. Browse to image, click go, get BB. Would anyone use something like that? |

A program has been made for LA, I can't remember by who, and it works for small images. Not too satisfactory though in terms of quality. There's another program too, but very similar to the one I just talked about, but with the same flaws. And yeah, BBcoding made in the old style was time consuming like hell!. TO's logo took me two days to make, but I am still very happy with it

BB-coding new stule does take a lot less. The msot intriquite logos can still be made in half an hour. Though I still know our old ways though. |
