Mhuahaha joined his friend in his excitement. After a quick jump across one of the tables, he stood alongside Reid, who was holding the page in his hands. "Heey, now that's a perk, I can read the language. Let me see." Mhuahaha said after taking a quick look at the page. He follwed this up by reading the page out loud. "As Gea reached out her hands to embrace her creation in her life givening bosom, she gently weeps. From her tears sprung her duaghter Aqua. She decided it was time to create one last thing. This creation was man, whom she created in the image of herself and her husband. As her children rejoiced and mareveled at the life giving mothers creation, the mother herself felt weary after all her hard work. Now it was time to rest. She wanted to give her children a good life while she was gone. As such, from her navel sprung a giant tree which, if nurtured by her children, would bring them a bountyfull life. To nurture this tree, Terros became the ground to bring Gea nutrients. Solaris became the sun, bringing her energy and wamrth through his rays. Luna, she became the moon, bringing Gea rest at night. Aqua henceforth took care of the rivers, streams, lakes, seas and rain, bringing her mother water. Aeros became the wind, spreading the seeds her mother sprouted, through the lands. Pyros was granted a special task, she was to maintain her mother. Clearing her mother's skin from all manner of living things which have passed their lifetime. She was to be the keeper of the soul and in charge of rebirth, bringing the souls back to the wamrth and safety of her mothers womb, untill it was time to take their place in life. But man had the greatest task of all, they were charged with taking care of all that the mother would grant them thereafter. From that time on, her children worked together, shaping the world as their mother wished." "And then a drawing of the tree in this very temple. It is part of their creation myth. Or so it seems. What do you think?" Mhuahaha looked up to Reid. OoC: I didn't feel like doing it true Greec style. All the children from gaia, it would be dificult to get right. |

"Looks and sounds it, at any rate. Why don't we hang onto it? I'm sure whatever priests remain would be glad for people to be reading it again." Reid looked at the tray again, finding nothing more. "I think we've exhausted this room of important things. Well, relatively important. I dare say it's ALL important for you?" He grinned at Mhuahaha before making for the exit of the room. "Reckon that diary lent a hand in your being able to read this stuff?" he asked as he walked alongside Mhuahaha down the corridor to the chapel at the end, growing more excited by the step. |

Mhuahaha laughed as he followed Reid outside. "Yes, I'd say it is all of a certain importance to me. Partially as an archaeologist and partially because this all is what I set out to find out. Though there are certain things which are more important than others. The diary we found, that page we found, those are really important here and now. It is what will solve the initial mysteries and might help us find out what happened to this place. Some things might even help us get to the bottom of this place, in both a litteral and metaphorical sense." Mhuahaha and Reid walked along the corridor, untill Mhuahaha suddenly stopped. "What do you mean by the diary helping out?" |

"Well, what else would it be?" Reid asked. "Earlier, you couldn't read the writing. Then you had that crazy diary vision. Next time you tried to read some of the writing you could. By a process of elimination, it's probably to do with the diary. Or I could be thinking along the wrong lines and it's something else altogether, like Gae wanting you to be able to read it, and that being made so as you're in her inner sanctum. Anyway, enough of that. The practical upshot is that you can read the writing, which is very handy. And here we are at the chapel." Reid looked at the double doors in front of him. Glancing sidelong at Mhuahaha, he smiled a very excited smile. "Time number two." With that, he flung the doors open, revealing a small room, entirely made of wood. In fact, it looked as though it had once been a solid block, and had been carved out. The benches melded to the floor seamlessly, the font rose elegantly from the floor, and the shelves seemed a part of the walls. "Looks exactly how it was," Reid remarked, as he walked very slowly in, looking around. |

"That was their language? How stupid of me, I didn't even look at the writing. Hmm, the diary....could well be....well be." Mhuahaha walked on, following reid towards the chapel. He was pondering though, pondering about the words from the man in the robes. He nearly bumped into Reid before he realised they had arrived already. Appearantly Reid was not about to take much from the events in the diary. "The diary! I should be able to read that as well." Mhuahaha said as he followed Reid into the chapel. But before he could say anything else, Mhuahaha was blown away by the chapel. Never had he seen anything like that. He grabbed a small microscope and looked at the benches and the walls. "Hmm, I have never seen wood like this. It must have all been made from wood gathered from the tree outside. Well, tree, it should be Gea herself if we are to believe the page we found. Even though some parts of the page are probably made up, I do believe the tree part to be true. Who could not after seeing all this splender?" Mhuahaha took a closer look at one of the benches and then sat on it. "This is where you recieved the urn for your work with consealing their faith, correct? Did they tell you anything about this place? The wood seems as if it had been carved recently. Its quite comfortable by the way. Hmm, I am starting to get hungry. The healthy air here must have given me an appetite. Shall we take a break here while you tell me your story?" OoC: Time for some progress on your side. Ohh, I think we should have a room with skeletons somewhere. Don't you think? |

OOC: Agreed. IC: "Indeed, I suspect the tree part is true. You probably could read the diary now, come to think of it." Reid looked around the chapel, memories growing more vivid as he did so. He was broken out of his stupor when Mhuahaha spoke again. "Yes, yes, this was where I got the urn, though it wasn't so much 'concealing' as 'preserving'. And they did, in fact, tell me a little about this chapel. You'll have noticed, whilst playing with your toy there, that there is no join between the benches and the ground, or the shelves and the walls, or anywhere. That's because this chapel, and all the others from here on down, were not made, or crafted, rather. They grew. Quite literally, grew. You see, behind this wood is earth, and, so they told me, these are nodes of the tree, grown from Gae for worship of herself. You may have noticed there is no dust inside this grand temple we have entered. That is likely because Gae cleared it away, or did not permit it in the first place. On stepping through the door, we entered a realm where Gae's will is made manifest instantaneously. You said you were a little hungry. She heard, and has chosen to supply your need. Take a look beside you on the bench - she has given you some bread and water." Reid sat down on Mhuahaha's left, indicating a rough stone pitcher of water and wooden plate with bread that had appeared on the pew to the latter's right. |

Mhuahaha looked at the stone pitcher and wooden platter. "I actually brought wine and bread of my own. Hmm...ohh well....it would be a shame to let food and drink go to waste. Especially considering this is a gift from our holy mother herself." Mhuahaha grabbed the bread first, taking a bite from it. He was surprised by the simple, delecate, yet rich, flavour from the bread. Following his bite, Mhuahaha decided he should wash it away with some water. But he needed a cup first. Lowe and behold, a stone cup appeared, made from the same stone as the pitcher. "Do you want a glass as well?" Without waiting, he started to pour the water into the first cup, then the second cup, which magicly apeared only moments after thinking about it. Placing down the stone pitcher and taking his cup, he held it up to Reid, offering a toast. "To us, to Gea and to her followers with their mysteries yet to be revealed." Taking a sip from his cup, he could feel the cold and refreshing water, pouring down to his stomach, the cold and refreshing feeling spreading, covering his whole body. It was as refreshing and tasty as water from a stream of metlwater, just metled of a glacier. "Ahh, I think I am starting to like this place." He said as he smiled to Reid. |

"Indeed. To all of that." Reid drank deeply from his cup, enjoying the water. "I think I'm the same. Incidentally, I don't think this was a regular occurrence when the temple was still in regular use. I suspect our divine may well be showing us special favour, possibly as we're the only visitors to have been here in...well...millennia." He took some of the bread, and ate. "Delicious, wouldn't you say?" |

"Yes, rather nice indeed. Though there might be another reason for Gea to look upon us with such kindness. I fear we are going to have quite a challenge ahead of us. We are going to explore this entire place, there might well be unkindness waitin for us below. So, we can also consider this our gallow's meal, to use a catchy phrase for it." Mhuahaha reached into his large back and retrieved the diary he had placed there not so long ago. "Time to read this puppy. Ohh and please do share anything else you might think important. It will take me some time to read through the entire diary." |

"Indeed, you have a point. However, I don't think either of us will die, for a number of reasons. First, we have the layout advantage, as the stairwell is anticlockwise. Far easier to fight down and retreat up. Second, you have your memories. Third, I've gotten used to fighting with a sword again. Being limited in mana capacity led me to get back into practise with it. Fourth, if all else fails, one mountain of runes should be more than adequate to transport us safely out, even if it goes against the will of a god. If used offensively, we could easily obliterate the entire temple, all of Karmina, and an extremely large area around. I think that's all of importance at present." Reid opened his bag of holding and withdrew a pair of shortswords, one black with an elongated white triangle extending from the hilt, the other the inverse. Each had a wooden handle and hilt, with leather wrapped tightly around the handle, and a yin and yan symbol at the base of the triangle. The black blade had a series of red lines across its surface, dividing it into regular hexagons in a honeycomb-like pattern. He closed the bag and showed Mhuahaha the swords. "These are the blades I use. Magically enchanted opposites. So long as I hold the one, I can throw the other away and it will return." OOC: These are the swords I'm trying to describe, btw

As Mhuahaha listened to Reid, he read through the first few pages of the diary, stopping after being shown Reid's swords. "Hmm, those are some nice swords indeed. And yes, I completely agree. We'll be fine. My memories give me adequate swordsmanship and some nice magics. Not to mention knowledge about all sorts of creatures and how to brilliantly pour various drinks. I was a bartender in several lifes, you hear a lot as a bartender. And pour lots of drinks. Though my scolarship at the university has opened a world of wealth to me as well." He stood up and again reached into his bag. He grabbed out a set of clothes and armour, a longsword, a few blade, a shortsword, a knife, a longbow, a crossbow, several bolts and arrows and various other bits and bobs, placing them all on the floor, chairs and tables around them. Among those various oddities were some runes, a book, a few bottles filled with a wierd liquid and flasks. "This is partially why my bag is a bit big. Well, it is just about my size, but with good reason. I decided to bring a lot of weapondry, as you can see. The bow I mentioned before, as I did the digging aids and nutricions. I've also packed my best gear, I wear a nice and basic set now." Mhuahaha walked towards the table where he placed a few of the oddities. He grabbed one of the bottles. It had a faint dark red glow to it. The liquid inside was swirling. "You will love this. Within this bottle, is the best science can imitate magics at the moment. It contains a mixture of various ingredients, wine, dragon blood, bat droppings and so on. The resulting effect is that it will blow up as soon as it comes in contact with a lot of air. It was develloped by professor Molotov, who teaches advanced experimental alchemy at my university. It's official name is Enfirus Chaotus Totallus Mark III. Though we lovingly refer to it as molotov's coktail." He carefully placed it back in the bag, along with his other equipment to quickly resume reading the diary afterwards. |

"But of course. A bartender wouldn't be a bartender if he couldn't pour drinks," Reid grinned. "You're right. I do love it. Though I can suggest how Mark IV could be an improvement." He opened his bag and pulled out a rock, crossing over to Mhuahaha and the bottles. "Brimstone. It's sorely lacking, and that would pack some more punch. May I?" He held out his hand, asking for the bottle. |
