It is little bit WoW rip-off right, just a standard MMORPG? |

Rofl, i'm curious, why is WoW a crappy mmorpg "rip off". And how do you "rip off" a complete genre anyways? I'm not a WoW lover, I have played it and I find it boring as hell, but I KNOW it's a good game. Else there wouldn't be over ten million unique players. Graphics are decent, I mean, they're cartoony, that's what they meant to make in the first place. So you can't really refurbish cartoons. |

i dont mean its a cheap rip off. cuz its not cheap in any way shape or form...unless count how after every release players clock about characters being too weak, so blizzard just says ok....lets make them stronger. so then you have horribly unbalanced character types. on top of that the game is boring as hell. its the same thing over and over. just like lotro and guild wars. the repetitive games suck. not to mention there complete lack of originality and creativity while creating the game. almost everything is simply just a recolor. if i were to seriously take the time to sit down and talk about all the bad things about the game. id never get back to LA. and those are the same reasons i quit playing quild wars and lotro to. i loved psu for the fact that are new things all the time. despite having mass recolors in that to. at least theres constantly new quests, area, and story upgrades. |

You say it's boring because it's repetitive and yet you play Legend Arena. How ironic.. |

but i dont pay 15 bucks a month to play legend arena. plus theres always changes being made to make the game more interesting. i would much rather pay to play la than i would to play wow. thats a horrible comparison....at least to me it is. |

This is exactly what i first thought. I was, dare i say it, disappoint to find it was nothing like Guildwars. From what i've seen of LOTRO and WOW, it's much more in that category. Now i've not played LOTRO or WOW extensively. Heck i only played the 7 days trials for each so i cannot truely compare any game to either one of them. Seeing as i've the only MMO's i've played extensively were GW and FFXI i thought it may be time to dip into the pot of games like wow, conan and lotro. The fact that the game is run by NCsoft is more of a comfort to me, knowing what a good job they've done with GW (ignoring their other games that failed). ![]() So back to my initial question, do any of you own an account on aion? |

I tried the beta. It's good. blackwinds, you clearly didn't play much wow. Every patch there's more quests, fool. Also, it was around before most other MMOs. It also set a mold most things have followed. There's the WoW way of MMO, the GW way, and a couple of others. EQ2 was the real classic MMO, though. |

i did play a bit not more than a couple months though. and i realize theres more quests and such. but the management team for that game is full of complete retards. players complain about how a class is too underpowered. so what does blizzard do. tell them thats too bad and the character wasnt meant to be played that way...no. they say ok lets change some stuff. so they go and completely overpower the class. the game itself started out ok. all the expansions do is make it harder to do stuff. so they can rake in more money from having people continually do the same things over and over. and no wow was not one of the orgicanls. not even really that close. eq1 was great. eq2 not too bad. and as for setting a mold....yes it did. a bad one. |

I played wow for awhile got to level 44 quit, said it sucked and then got playing it again... got to level 67 quit and said i hated it that it was one of the worse games out there etc... I just started playing it again and am now in Northrend with a level 68... I dont think its anywhere near as bad as your saying and its coming from the most neutral of viewpoints you can have. WOW has its bad points but its the most successful MMORPG out there and theres no way any other MMORPG will ever perfect like you are asking them to be. You dont have 7 million active unique accounts if the game is as bad as you say... I seriously dislike it when the game/movie people are reviewing is crap because they say its this and that but its popular for a reason and if you cant grasp that then hard luck no need to cry about it because your mind doesnt comprehend the good points about the game. |

blackwinds, you clearly haven't played wow enough then XD I've been going since Vanilla, and yes Blizzard are much more cash-oriented now, but they don't wave the buff bat all the time. More often it's the nerf bat. Paladins were ridiculously weak until not too long ago, the buff has made them extremely good, yes, but that's cause lorewise they're polar opposite of the overpowered death knights. Edit: Nah, stopped playing it after a while. Gave my account to a friend who REALLY wanted to play it. Edited by ReidE96, Sep 9 2009, 06:52 PM.
