First, let me say that these attacks went indeed too far. It is good that you post this so we moderate more tightly and not keep an eye closed for veterans or friends.
Second, amazonia, that is not what i said or intended to say. I merely wanted you to take a look at other topics so you could view that its really not in general that players are argueing or flaming. And I was hoping to see you post there so you can appreciate the forum in that way too.
Third, Treacher, to counter your sentence about jumping to conclusions, I think you did that in return, actually. I never intended to disadvice newbies from posting in heated topics. And I did not at all care about whether amazonia is a newbie or not. When I saw (s)he had just 5 posts at this forum my goal was to point out that there are other topics here too where newbies are respected and listened to. I know that doesn't help for your point. In those heated topics, forum newbies should be respected aswell like any oldtimer.

Hope this clarifies.

edit: However I also agree what arrested says; if you mingle in such discussions, you should be prepared to get countered.
You said the only post I posted in were the heated posts. I didn't misread what you wrote. That is what you said. Either you 1)assumed that I never posted in the forum(s) before 2) You ignored the fact that I have posted in the old forum before or 3) You didn't know. In any case, you assumed something that wasn't true. You didn't state until your recant that you meant the current forum.

And nothing is wrong with countering. However, countering takes logic and a command of the vocabulary. Calling people names uses neither one of those tools.

In the old forums, I took a look and as I told you, posted in those folders. Again, what I saw was "Someone already posted that topic. If you look through the past 20 pages, you would have seen that!", rolling of the eyes, people being called noob or newbie outside of the heated topics (ie the suggestion topic) etc.

Now, you may argue that it is a new forum. Yet, I recognize about 70-80% of the same names with the same attitudes as before. And now, I am assuming that since it is the same people with the same attitudes that nothing much has changed. *chuckle* And if you don't believe me, read some of the sigs.

I'm not a newbie, I just don't like what I saw.

I'm more man than you will ever be, and more woman than you will ever get.
