OOC: Respond to your situation in character Darkmist: Flipping through the book Darkmist found it to actually be a collection of reports, excerpts and other documents. Most where boring reports dating back to the 1920s about various cult activities around the world, most of which had entire sections wiped out with black marker making it entirely illegible. However one document seemed to have recently been highlighted. It was a report, detailing the murder of an unknown person in an Irish inn during the 1950s. Though names had been removed certain details remained, such as how the body was completely torn to pieces by (as suggested by the officer investigating) a very large animal and how this didn't explain the series of symbols drawn in the victims own blood (unfittingly the sketch provided had been blacked out). Perhaps the strangest thing was that the officer mentioned that apparently only one item had been taken from the victim, a book with a strange "yellow symbol on the front" that the victim kept chained shut... OOC: Rushed because I'm trying to get this done without crashing. |

Fyonte straightens up and flicks his jacket closed. "Right uh...Hmm. Well, uh...What manner of..creature are you?" Fyonte spoke quizzically as he examined the freakishly hideous monstrosity. Fyonte files what of a profile he can gain by an optical scan. "Queer thing you are." He whispers. |

DarkMist looks back into the hallway. "Blood? You coming? you should check this out. it's really interesting. i wish i knew more about the symbol on the front of this book, however. I wonder if there's a computer around here somewhere." he looks around the room, searching for a computer. he doesn't see one, but notices the printer in the corner. "i wonder if there's anything on here..." |

OOC: Sorry for keeping you waiting. DarkMist: There where several documents printed out, many looked copied directly from numerous online archives. The first document however was rather eye catching as it looked like a printed out photograph of the suicide note of a madman:
There are more papers... Fyonte: The creature before Fyonte could react suddenly grew solid, Its gooey form becoming solid and covered in metal plates. Its single eye became obviously mechanical in nature, with four metal plates forming a circular eyelid (OOC: Similar to the geth eyes from mass effect). It almost seemed to glare at Fyonte and in its emotionless tone said "I'm under the classifications of *The one who signs your paycheck*. Would you prefer the impractical form I had before that you seemed to hold in such high respect? Perhaps because it so resembles your organic exterior?" |

Fyonte scowls at the creature, clenching his teeth. "I have not time to mince words with you. I am here on loan from Green Heaven as an act of diplomacy. While my words are harsh, they are true." Fyonte leans closer to the beast. "Be you human, cyborg, or android. You are a freak. Now are you the breifing officer, or not? I have not time to dawdle about." |

DarkMist and Blood: Despite the large amount of cables no computer was in sight. They would have to travel to the upper decks in order to find one. Fyonte: The machines response was quick. A mechanical hand began to wrap around Fyonte's throat. Before Fyonte's brain could even register what had happened the robotic eye had changed. A skull like visage appeared before Fyonte's eyes as a humanoid machine unfurled massive cooling fins and inhumane instruments of torture from a growing cloud of angry mechanical eyes and teeth that seemed to shift and merge with the mechanical creature. An electric screeching started, at first inaudible but quickly grew to a scream that deafened any ear that heard it. Yet what Addonexus said next could be heard perfectly by Fyonte. "Ó nagy csúszó káosz ÉN Addonexus , a hoz -ból halál felajánl ön egy áldozat!" OOC: Below is some stuff to help you visualize. Also before anyone asks no Addonexus isn't going to pull stuff like this anytime soon and he's going to be sticking to the sidelines after this and just be in a narrative role. ![]()

DarkMist travels to the upper decks, where he goes and asks a crewman where he might find a computer. He then searches Google for the yellow sign and the "king in yellow". Additionally, he has at this point forgotten about Blood, wondering about the things he's seen. He starts leafing through the papers he grabbed off the printer as he goes. |

Darkmist and Blood: Google turned up nothing but weird deviant art pictures and several hundred erotic Spongebob fanfiction sites, most of them involving yaoi... The printed out documents yielded much more interesting yet frustratingly did not reveal anymore about the "King in Yellow" or "The Yellow Sign". Most seemed to be confirming reservations for much of The Athenaeum Hotel in London, including much of the luxurious suites. http://www.athenaeumhotel.com/default.aspx Perhaps more information would come up if you would check the archives of the ship... Fyonte: Much to Fyontes surprise his clenched hand was suddenly wracked by painful spasms and his vision started to blur. Moving with a mind of it's own the hand gripped a pistol Addonexus had suddenly produced. At the same time Addonexus grip seemed to increase ten fold around Fyonte's neck, almost distracting him completely from his hand pressing the barrel of the pistol into his head. Laughter that could have never been uttered by any being Fyonte had heard of filled his ears, drowning out anything Addonexus was saying. Flesh started to peel from Fyonte's throat, being pulled up Addonexus's arm before being consumed as Addonexus himself started to become less defined, melding with the shadows behind. The finger on the trigger tightened. The vision blurred more as strange symbols danced around Addonexus. The shadows darkend as something began to emerge from behind the shadows*BANG*. Fyonte found himself on the floor, quite undamaged with the robotic floating eye staring down at him. " Do not tempt me. EVER. To waste a resource. Now, do you wish to prove your worth and help an overworked machine get several weeks worth of work done in the next few minutes?" |

Fyonte: Addonexus was not watching Fyonte as he began his little trick, focusing instead on an apparently blank spot on the wall. A strange claw like manipulator however appeared from underneath Addonexus flying robotic eyeball frame and shoved a clipboard, some paper and a USB stick into Fyonte's chest. "Head down to the archives and copy the files listed on that paper onto the USB and return it to me in the next thirty minutes and you can keep your job." Addonexus said, not even turning his single eye to look at Fyonte. "Oh and try to send reports out manually next time, in this day and age you never know who's listening in." DarkMist & Blood: This time DarkMist was swamped in files the system had pulled up. Thousands of incident reports, journal entries and sometimes entire novels worth of data showed up. Unfortunately pretty much all of them where listed as classified with Addonexus signature (A rather strange icon) right beside it. The ones that didn't seemed to be old mission summaries that only had one objective on them. "DESTROY ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THE YELLOW SIGN" OOC: To help visualize what Addonexus looks like at the moment: ![]() |

Fyonte salutes Addonexus, and sprints down two decks to Records and starts pulling the huge list of data to prepare. As he arrives in Records, he sits at one of the terminals and looks at the screen. "Now how do I use this thing." Fyonte looks at the screen blankly. "Oh yeah, manual input." Fyonte starts hammering away on the keyboard, his fingers striking the keys trying to work the computer. After a few minutes of tinkering with it, Fyonte scowls and sits up. Victorious, but defeated. All data obtained, but rather frustrated with the backwards interfaces. He heads back up to the breifing room, sits the clipboard down, and presents Addonexus with the thumbstick. "All requested information found and presented. A second copy is available on MO." |

Fyonte: Addonexus did not acknowledge Fyonte at first as he was having a heated conversation with a uniformed man who appeared to be in his early seventies yet looked like he bench presses trucks for a living. He was covered in numerous medals (including the Victoria Cross) and carried with him a sense of authority. Snatching up the USB stick Addonexus turned to Fyonte and stated rather bluntly "Operative Fyonte, This is General Jack Campbell." The man then extended his hand towards Fyonte "A pleasure to meet you Fyonte, Addonexus and I were just talking about you." DarkMist: As Darkmist slumped in his chair one of the files unlocked and opened. It appeared to be a mission debriefing, detailing how one team of P.I.A.T. operatives had failed their objective (Destroy anything related to the yellow sign) in a small community. The results are graphically described... OOC: Wow, do the christmas holidays demotivate you... General Campbell glanced down at his medal "Oh this? This is nothing, got it after saving a mining community in South Africa from a rampaging Balrog in '62, when I was still enlisted of course. A situation this organisation has and will continue to replicate on a daily basis, as long as every employee continues to honour their contract, that is." He said, looking at Fyonte. "Anyways I suggest you take your seat Fyonte, the briefing will be starting soon." He said as the message went out on the PA system. OOC: Well, gonna try to run both RPs. Not sure how it will work out but oh well. You guys deserve it. The soldiers, specialists, assassins and experts walked into the room and took seats, waiting for the General to start. Light hearted conversation drifted around the room as they talked amongst themselves. Most seemed to be in a good mood. Only a few somber faces stood out, their minds on personal problems or medical issues. Only a token few bore the look that showed they understood what was about to be said. General Campbell cleared his throat, silencing the room instantly as Addonexus drifted over and closed the bulk head door. The intent was clear, what was said in this room was to never leave it. "Soldiers, the job set before us is not a contract. It is an order carried down by our board of Directors directly to us. What is said in this room and done during this mission will remain with the company and in your souls, never to be shared with the outside world." Fervent whispers filled the large room, some filled with confusion, others with fear. This was not standard procedure for the P.I.A.T. This was all silenced immediately by a stern look from Campbell. "I tell you this soldiers, because if this gets out it will not mean a couple lost lives, bad publicity or lost stock options. If this gets out earth, our entire universe will be brushed aside as though it never existed. Erased by... things." Campbell took a deep breath, then with the tone of someone announcing a death, said quietly as Addonexus flashed an image behind Campbell. "My Fellow soldiers. A copy of the play known as the king in yellow as surfaced in London." ![]() Raucous laughter filled the room. A play? They said, surely you can't be serious. Campbell sighed, he had expected such disbelief from those that could not understand. Addonexus then flashed a simple drawing up, a drawing of a child... ![]() "This play is a ritual, whether to summon this King in Yellow or to simply bring the end as we know it we are not sure. No one has lived long enough to complete the play as anyone who reads it is seized by... I'm not sure what and torn to pieces. The few times it has been read out loud has resulted in this little gem here." He said, pointing up at the picture. "This was drawn by a small boy, of the age of 5 after he ate his unborn brother out from his mothers womb after the mother killed herself by banging her head against the wall while shrieking about a supposed last king. We know of this because we had arrived to late to stop the reading and our operatives could only watch as an entire town killed itself because someone read a damn sentence from this play." Campbell appeared to be visibly distressed before he took another breath and continued "These operatives where committed Arkham Sanatorium. They hanged themselves only a few weeks later. Anyone who comes in contact with this play dies a slow, agonising death and now someone or something is going to read the whole damn thing. We can not let this happen. Addonexus if you would be so kind?" "We will be deployed and set up shop in The Athenaeum Hotel in London ( http://www.athenaeumhotel.com/default.aspx ), much of the luxurious suites have been signed off to us. All monitoring devices the hotel and the city of London has set up will be brought under my control, as well as all civil protection communication channels. Anything you do in pursuit of The King of Yellow stays with P.I.A.T. However I assure you you are still under company policy. If you are unsure of whether your actions violates company policy please forward an email to me at FearTheMetalReaper@Paranormal.gov detailing the events. I assure you that any possible outcome of your actions will be analysed and the appropriate actions will be recommended. The mission will require constant detective work. Though we have been unable to determine the exact time and location the performance will be at I have gathered that this event will occur within the next 3 weeks. The primary objective is determining the location of the play and its total and utter destruction. You are authorised and encouraged to use lethal force against anything that so much as breaths a word about this play or the yellow sign. We can afford no failures. If we are unable to destroy the play before it is performed and we still are existing on a singular plane a total nuclear purge of the city will be necessary in order to prevent total termination of our plane of existence. Any Questions?" Edited by Immortalblade, Feb 20 2010, 02:10 AM.

There was a knock on the briefing room door. Little Franklin promptly squeezed his eight-foot frame through the doorway. "Ivan Franklin Rykov reporting," he said as he leaned against one of the walls. Jasper strode in behind him, a sheaf of papers under his arm. Not catching the briefing, he strode up to Addonexus and the general, handing them the papers. "Little Franklin over there has been sent in to field-test his latest gear. I am Jasper Allan Lewis, of Mendel-Grumman corporation. You will find all the forms in order and signed. If I am unable to tag along, then you shall have to look after him. Make sure he comes back in one piece with all of his gear, or else you'll replace it with money out of your own pocket! We don't make these personnel loans to you P.I.A.T. yahoos just so that they can become a heap of scrap metal, after all." Jasper promptly moved back to Little Franklin and awaited the news as to whether he'd be sticking around or have to go back and file his reports.

OOC: Kranford you mind bolding the speech, easier to pick out that way. Addonexus faceplate's contracted until his eye was a little tiny dot, its sickly green replaced with a burning red. "Global Paranormal Enterprises encourages fair competition amongst rival companies and ensures that all technology and personal loaned from other interests receives the best professional care for as long as their contract dictates. However this is a military vessel. Everyone is subject to the same rules and regulations, no matter rank or affiliation. Showing up late to Level One clearance briefing and then waving around your companies legal arm to the commanding officer of this vessel will result in permanent liquidization of personnel, stock and corporate assets. Now take your seat, an audio recording of the meeting has been sent to your PDA. Please review it or you and your companion will be removed from this vessel." OOC: Yes Addonexus is a control freak "Operative Fyonte we have no information regarding what exactly The King in yellow is. Any paranormal analyse turns up nothing. We have deduced that if it exists it exists outside and beyond any definition we can theorise. The only evidence of it is the wake of insanity and death it leaves behind. Further information may allow us to properly identify it but it is far more likely that The king in yellow simply is something even the most powerful and advanced of us can never hope to understand, let alone comprehend." OOC- no problem, Neighbor from the North. IC- Little Franklin promptly attempted to take a seat. Unfortunately his massive frame made it very uncomfortable. He decided to lean against the back of the room. Jasper ran through the briefing on his wrist comp, sitting down while the audio played. "What was Kranford thinking when he sent me to these guys?" thought Jasper as he finished listening. Little Franklin ran through a list of gear he'd be taking. He checked the box for all the gear, including the aftermath frame. He also checked the M-90 Beach Stormer MWAS and a modified right arm for the aftermath frame to be sent ahead to London. Fyonte doesn't bother raising his hand. "So you're telling us to track down people doing something that would have a buildup of energy--that we don't know to look for. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it can't be done, but you already have a font of different planar and eldrich energies focusing about on this planet. "I'll handle this Addonexus." The general said, silencing the irritated machine. "Fyonte we've tried everything. Nothing appears, its like this damn thing doesn't even exist. Our only lead is that whenever it or its followers appear everything near it goes completely insane. This has included in the past Archdemons, fair folk and once a pagan god of the woods. That is why we are doing this with good old fashioned detective work. Even though this entity doesn't exist its followers, cultists and literature does. All we have to do is follow the trail of madness and it will lead us right to the play." "Opposition Franklin will at first be non-existent. However as we get closer to the play they will be sending everything they have at us." At that moment Addonexus flashed an image on the wall behind the general of what looked like a hooded shepherd wearing a faceless mask, the yellow sign painted onto its shoulder. "This is the traditional garb of The king in yellows cultists. Don't expect to see any though, they may be insane but they aren't stupid. Instead look for anything or anyone with the yellow sign on their person. Anything that has that sign make sure to pump it so full of lead they have to cart it out with a forklift." ![]() "This is a Byakhee, a servant of The king in yellow. Their intelligent little buggers with a taste for human flesh. Though we haven't been able to tell if they have a civilization or not expect them to try and tear your face off the moment they spot you. Shoot them until their a bloodstain, they don't go down easy." "This is a Grey, no stop your snickering their real and they serve The King in Yellow. They where created as expendable shock troops using our DNA by the last thing on this list. They are equipped with Kinetic barriers and some variety of gauss or plasma weapons. Use grenades to knock down their shields then paint the wall with their brains." ![]() "This... This is a Migou. They created the greys and are capable of disguising themselves as anyone, anything. They...they seem to not exist in our dimension and are capable of phasing out, disappearing without a trace. They have highly advanced technology, stuff we can't even begin to imagine. If you spot one contact Addonexus immediately, he has something that combined with heavy fire might be able to force it back to its dimension. Don't try to fight one without Addonexus, it won't work. Also try not to stare at it, they tend to drive people insane." "Any further questions?" Addonexus asked, his face plates relaxing visibly, the branch like runes covering them becoming more visible for a second. Edited by Immortalblade, Feb 21 2010, 04:54 PM.

"If you fail and The king in yellow hasn't been summoned yet our only hope is to detonate a nuclear device in the city. If it has been summoned... well I don't think it will matter what we do." "Please be aware that this task force has been created to limit civilian casualties as the creatures normally summoned to protect the summoning will be focusing on you as a result of your investigation. We also can not risk this going out in the open due to the susceptibility of the public to these creatures. If this investigation gets out in the open before we detect and destroy this play, even if we do manage to destroy it the public will be made suddenly aware of a situation the inhabitants of this world where never meant to know. There would be no mass panic, no fear, no human response. Knowledge of this creatures presence will enthral the public to this creatures will so utterly that those few that resist will be offered up as sacrifices. However if the mission proves to be a success P.I.A.T. and its affiliates will gain unprecedented support from the U.N. and affiliated governments. If we succeed we will no longer have any need of secrecy, no need to fear retribution from these creatures. And we will succeed. Be ready for deployment at 12:00 PM tomorrow. Those that are able to pack civilian clothes. Dismissed." Addonexus then floated into a corner, clearly open to more questions for the curious. |

*Jasper and Little Franklin* "I'll arrange transport for the Little Franklin and myself. He's a bit heavy for your choppers," replied Jasper as he and Little Franklin left the room. The two of them moved back onto the top deck and onto their waiting sub, bound for England. It was not going to be easy attempting to keep this from Kranford's prying eyes; heck, Kranford probably already knew by now, but was likely busy with either something more important than P.I.A.T. or with his fiance Zoe. The captain informed him that they were underway, and that Little Franklin's requested gear was being sent ahead of them on schedule. He decided to sleep for the rest of the trip, which he promptly did. Little Franklin did the same, shutting his main systems down in the cargo hold. Edited by Kranford T. "If that's all, I have to gather some supplies and move a space station for possible shots, Gentlemen." Fyonte stands up from his desk, adjusting his rig and walks out of the room. He heads up to the flight deck and looks down at his hands. He moves them apart slowly and looks into the empty space that is somehow casting a shadow. He moves a finger through the space, and it collides with something. His fingers move against the surface. He begins typing on it, and just as he moves his hands away, the shadow disappears. He leans against the control tower, and closes his eyes, waiting for his ride. A few minutes later, a Devastator MkII breaks through the Ether above the ship, and begins circling the deck, identifying itself and requesting clearance. Upon clearance, it lands, striking the brake hook and before it even stops, the canopy opens and Fyonte sprints to the plane, hopping in quickly, slamming the canopy closed. The Devastator's double prop ether induction engine flares to life, and the huge plane bolts off mid-deck and tears upward into space. Edited by The King, Feb 24 2010, 12:36 AM.

DarkMist walks over to Addonexus, and asks "So, we're going in, killing people, burning, nuking, or somehow destroying this play, and then leaving, and we're supposed to keep it undercover? How are we going to do that? People tend to notice when other humans are getting killed, especially when there are more than one. I have no problem with it, it's just that I can't figure out how to do that. Any suggestions? Also, I assume there are transports available for those of us who don't happen to carry them around?"

"The Thames is awfully deep this time of year." Addonexus said absent mindedly to Darkmist before focusing on him with his emotionless eye "Transport is leaving at noon tomorrow. The security forces aboard the ship will be more then happy to direct you where to go. We look forward to your cooperation during this most important of missions." and with that Addonexus floated away, a muted song playing through his speakers... 1:30 PM THE NEXT DAY ![]() A squadron of drop-ships flew over the English country side, those members of P.I.A.T. who could not afford personal transportation desperately holding onto bags and munitions as the drop-ship rocked as powerful winds buffeted the ship. The cramped, dark interior only lit by Addonexus glowing red eye. Those who could afford to go on their own where waiting at London International Airport, blending into the crowd. The P.I.A.T. offices in the country had managed to get the airport to clear a runway for the Drop-ships and to allow several unmarked transport trucks in. The drop-ships had been allowed under the pretence that it was caring medical supplies and food for the oppressed poor of London's streets (OOC: London has undergone significant class problems in this universe as well as almost constant torrential rains and oppressive mist. There is a huge Civil Protection detachment here.). The hotels had already been booked (those who had come ahead where already enjoying the all expenses paid bonuses of a 5 star hotel), hidden garages would be used to store the weapons and munitions and foolproof alibis where already ready to be sent to the CP offices in case of any incidents. As heavy rain pattered on the large foggy windows of the airport the tell-tail signs of several VTOL craft landing by an unused hanger could be just made out through the fog. A dreary English voice muttered something about supply drops over the loud speakers before letting the music (A recently popular song that has been at the top of the charts quite often lately) continue to play... Along the shore the cloud waves break, The twin suns sink beneath the lake, The shadows lengthen In Carcosa. Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies But stranger still is Lost Carcosa. Songs that the Hyades shall sing, Where flap the tatters of the King, Must die unheard in Dim Carcosa. Song of my soul, my voice is dead; Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed Shall dry and die in Lost Carcosa. |

Jasper and Little Franklin were released from the torpedo tubes of the sub, off the coast of the UK. The internal air supply in Jasper's armor enabled him to reach the coast with little trouble, and Little Franklin was not far behind. The two of them rose from the waves and onto the beaches. Kranford's Basement agency didn't have quite the presence in Europe as it did in the U.S., but Mendel-Grumman had an office or two in London, including a testing facility. The gruesome twosome made their way up to London, with Jasper using his levitation to rapidly move through the air and keep up with Little Franklin. It was the dead of night, so there was no worry of being seen. The next morning, they left the compound, headed for a safehouse in the Docks. There, Little Franklin could be his usual charming self while Jasper made contact with the P.I.A.T. group. |

Meanwhile in the Athenaeum. Fyonte walks into the lobby, noticing he has arrived first. "Imagine that." He walks slowly up to the reception area and leans against it, looking over the beauty that stood behind the counter. "Welcome back, Professor Silgura. How was your trip to America?" He nods "Thank you Jenette, it was horrible. Imbeciles ignoring protocol, high staff just doing whatever it is they felt, lining their pockets. I'm surprised I'm still making money." Jenette smiles "Well at least your home now. Your room has been kept how you left it. Here's your key." Jenette hands him the Rooftop key. Fyonte leans a little further over the counter. "Oh, A scruffy lot will be coming in...Oh within the hour, you'll know them when you see them. Send them up, would you? Guests of mine and that. Cheers." He takes the key and slowly drops it in his coat pocket and heads to the elevators. He heads up to the roof suite, and unlocks the door. He tosses the key onto the glass end table right by the door. He stops for a moment and sighs. "All of this for a measily 950K isn't doing it." He slowly walks to the couch and flops down. Waiting. |

When he gets there, he almost knocks, but then wonders how Fyonte would react to someone spontaneously appearing in his room. He goes Mistform, floats under the door, and reforms directly behind Fyonte. "Boo." |

Fyonte pulls his Smith and Wesson out of his holster as quick as Dark forms, pressing it against the base of his chin as he pulls the hammer back. "Bang." He holds the gun steady on Dark's chin for a moment, and pulls the gun away slowly, releasing the hammer with his thumb. "Dumb enough of you to just let yourself in...Where's the rest of you lot?" He asks as slips the huge revolver into his holster. |

Fyonte and Darkmist: A phone left on the glass table suddenly punctuated the conversation. It rang for a few seconds then immediately switched to message, the sounds of gunshots and explosions filling the room. "This is *Explosion*ddonexus. We are under att*Gun shots*! Fyonte sighs and stands up, walking over to a sealed metal case. He pushes two buttons in the shape of gears, that spin downward into the case, and it pops open with a thump. Fyonte lifts out the Denel PAW 20 and checks the magazine, and picks two more up out of the crate, stuffing them into his deep pockets. He slips the launcher under his coat and adjusts it slightly. "Do you get motion sickness, demon?" Fyonte asks as he buttons his coat up, walking into the kitchen. He opens a cabinet by the refridgerator and pulls out a brown pouch covered in french writing, the size of a football. He quickly tears it open and pulls out the silver pouch labeled Entree and tosses the candy bar to Dark. "Little treat for morale. I expect the fight we shall enter will be a little intense for you, if that Necron Freak needs help." He grabs a spoon from the drawer by the sink, and quickly scoops the contents of the package into his mouth hungrily. |

DarkMist tentatively takes a bite of the candy bar. mouth full, "mmmmm. this is good stuff. where'd you get it? also, I'm not a demon, I'm a shadowwraith. the difference is that a demon would have broken your door, charged you, and stopped his blade a few centimeters from your neck, then gotten pissed off when you shot him in self-defense, and finished the swing. I suppose we ought to go help addonexus now. he sounded kind of vulgar, and I don't really want to see if he's willing to carry out on his threat. Got any more of those candy bars?" |

Jasper's com burst to life in an instant, with that crazy Addonexus machine reporting an attack on the P.I.A.T. soldiers and their dropships. Little Franklin decided to change his "clothes," switching to his aftermath frame and stomping down the street, the asphalt cracking with each step. Jasper levitated up to the rooftops and continued to the P.I.A.T. LZ, popping out his steamer rifle for when he'd need it. The building he was on was overlooking the situation. Jasper scanned for hostiles with his aura sense. Little Franklin, on the other hand, stalked through the alleyways, the spaces barely able to contain his fourteen-foot tall bulk. He also had eyes on the P.I.A.T LZ, and his weapons were primed and his scanners on full power. |

GM: The airport was a scene of chaos, the wreckage of burning cars littering the tarmac with screaming civilians running about. Surrounding the P.I.A.T.s VTOLs where several Civil Protection transport trucks, spray-painted with anti-government and corporation signs and slogans. Littered around them where large numbers of men, some in stolen CP gear, others wearing nothing more then bullet proof vests, balaclavas and their civilian clothes. They where firing upon the transports with small arms, grenades and RPGs, evidently frustrated that their weapons where doing little more then chipping the paint. No movement came from the transports obviously, the masquerade of being nothing more then Aid transports being an illusion they could not possibly afford to dispel. However occasionally an emergency hatch would pop open, a burst of weapons fire erupting from inside before quickly being sealed off again. An overturned armoured car was nearby, wedging the attackers between the VTOLs and it by almost a hundred metres. This vehicle was almost completely shredded yet still seemed to offer some protection as bullets and grenades poured out of it, putting pressure on the attackers. However it was obvious that this small group in the armoured car would be soon surrounded by the attackers though for the time being it offered a window of protection from the relentless hail of bullets to anyone approaching. If one would stare long enough into the shredded underside of the armoured car (Which is facing anyone approaching the battle) they would see a strange red light flashing .--. / .. / .- / - / -.-. --- -- . / .... . .-. . (its morse code for: P I A T Come here) OOC: Ok if it wasn't clear right now that armoured car is the only way to get into firing range of the attackers. Addonexus is flashing morse code from inside the armoured car that any reinforcements should get to the armoured car as it offers the best place to deal some damage to the attackers as well as allow him to explain the situation in more detail. Its also the only cover available as you are in the middle of the runway of an international airport that's been cleared off because they think this is an aid drop. Fyonte shrugs and discards the now empty pouch in the trash bin, tossing the spoon into the sink. He opens the fridge slowly, taking a water bottle out, stuffing it in his pocket. "You're a Demon, because you are not human, Holcross, or feral. Your birthright is a bastardization and an effrontery to all good and honest things. Your powers stem from a corrupt source and you do not appreciate the effects to the Ether." Fyonte closes the door and walks to the patio, opening the glass doors to reveal a Devastator MkII. "And if you think your little blades could do more than cut my skin and maybe a coolant line, you're seriously overestimating yourself, and seriously underestimating the power of the Ages." Fyonte walks up to the devastator and unlocks the canopy. "And unlike you, I don't give a tinker's damn about that Necron Freak. If I had my way, the guild would still be hunting them, and he'd see what it was like at the business end of my Caster. But I guess that's why I don't get to make the choices. Get in the gunner's chair." Fyonte climbs up the fuselage, hopping into the pilot's seat as the patio begins to turn. As Dark straps in, Fyonte reaches to close the canopy. "Seatbelts!" As Dark straps the five point harness on, the Gunner's computer pops on. "Two firsts today. A non-citizen gets to fly in a Devastator, and he also gets to control it's arsenal. Zero will explain the system to you. Dark has to read this, you don't. "Alright kid! Let's see if you can hit anything! For the glory of the Empire!" The Devastator's ether induction system bursts to life and in an instant, the huge multi-role fighter is in the air. Within thirty seconds, the huge fighter is orbiting the battlezone slowly, a near hovering 20 knots, the engine having switch to parallel induction. "Alright kid, you're weapons free! If the IFF doesn't mark it, Rip it full of holes! Friendlies marked in blue!" |

ooc-- could you provide a picture of the MkII devastator? also, Darkmist isn't trying to piss you off, he's just sort of the philosophical sort, and he's very academic, at times, and loves nothing more than a good debate, except for a perfectly executed plan, although with the joining of PIAT, he is developing more human traits, such as impulsiveness. "Sounds like fun. also, i have never really had much to do with the ether. My Powers, as you call them, are an inborn ability of all of my kind. My knives were designed to work on human flesh and blood, so i highly doubt that they will even scratch the surface of your "skin". I am not a bastard, as my mother was married to my father at the time of my conception. The biggest thing is your use of good and honest. those are very subjective words, as depending upon who says them. My experience is limited to humans, however, so if holcrosses are different, i would welcome the enlightenment. so, does the computer system have an algorithm for calculating time of release for the SIC, or do i have to do the math myself? right, try to line us up so i can vaporize the maximum number of bad guys without really damaging the armored car, CP stuff, or the VTOL's." darkmist says as he selects the KP 200, shoots some bad guys, and then switches over to the Spectron Ion Collider as they pass over a large group of bad guys, and releases. (ooc: i'm not really sure about the order of this, i think the SIC might come first, depending on velocity and altitude, but he does it in the right order). Little Franklin stomped towards the armored car, leaving the billowing cloud of smoke in his wake thanks to the cooling unit. As he got near the armored car, he started running targeting diagnostics. *Target acquired, particle charge full* Little Franklin's computer chimed to him. He marked out a group of targets for his rail gun, particle beam, and for the plasma missiles loaded in the chainsaw arm. His weapon systems all let loose at the same time, a sustained rail gun burst going at one of the enemy crowds, a pair of plasma missiles at another, and a full-powered particle beam blast towards another one of the anarchists. Jasper meanwhile got over to the armored car, asking Addonexus where the hell these yahoos had come from. Edited by Kranford T. Butcher, Mar 23 2010, 09:47 PM.

OOC: Didn't I mention there were civilians running around? Ah well Fyonte & DarkMist: As Fyonte's (OOC: erm, what is it?) ship circled the battlefield, a cold mist moved in rapidly from the East obscuring his view. Shouts started to come from the attackers as they stumbled around, unable to see in front of their faces. Without warning any feeling of heat, any sense of warmth vanished. Ice started to spread rapidly and began to work itself into the cockpit. The dull thrum of light rain hitting the canopy replaced with the RATATATATA of hail. Then a shadow appeared. Impossible to discern through the frosted glass yet it seemed larger then any bird Fyonte or Darkmist had ever seen. Before either of them could identify it; this creature slammed its loathsome head through the canopy. The reinforced glass shattered into hundreds of pieces, leaving both Fyonte and DarkMist exposed to the elements. The creatures mouth opened, inches from Fyonte's face as an abhorrent sound poured from deep within its maw. If they would have been on the ground they might have had heard the warning Addonexus shouted. His mechanical voice filled, for the first time, with fear. "BYAKHEE!" OOC://Preparing official document, this should tide you over for now. Nose profile and top view. Top of the page is top of the bird. Giant vector The Devastator's canopy freezes over, as Fyonte turns on the improvised de-icing system. "AWOS didn't say anything about hail Hmm. Hit the third button on the left side of the screen. Switches the camera to Infared." Fyonte checks the MO system for changes, and looks back out into the mist. The face punches through the lexan, and Fyonte looks up at it a bit shocked. It opens it's foul mouth and Fyonte grins, cramming a M67 down it's throat with one hand and holds the beak open with his other. He stands up in the seat. "Enjoy a hot potato, you nasty fuck!" Fyonte pulls the pin, the spoon popping out of it's beak and he snatches his arms back, and punches the nasty thing off of his fighter. Fyonte stands in the pilot's seat, the wind blowing his coat open. A dark grin crawls across his face, the hail pelting him, shattering against his body. The foul bird tries to recover from the fall, and just as he rights himself and opens his wings, the grenade goes off. Chunks of steaming bird and feathers flew everywhere. "Welcome to the Machine!" Fyonte slips back down into the seat. "We're punching out. Unload the Beagle 2's. Put every missile out on the fire zone. On the last run, pull the yellow lever between your legs and get ready for a ride. You're useless if you freeze to death. I'll run air superiority." |

DarkMist does as Fyonte tells him, emptying out the chamber of the Beagle 2's, and on the last pass he puts his hand down on the yellow lever between his legs, and pulls when Fyonte tells him to. "don't worry. this cold mist stuff is the best thing for me to fight in!". As the chair sinks to the ground, Darkmist turns into mist form and finds a pair of attackers reasonably close to each other. while the are yelling, or have their mouth open for some reason, Darkmist quickly enters both of their mouths, heading down their throats, into their lungs, and drowns them in himsef.once they are dead, he goes searching around the battlefield for more people to do this too, and does it to everyone he finds, one by one. |

DarkMist: As DarkMist throttled the assailants a massive shape descended from the sky. A Byakhee landed, this abhorrent, indescribable thing incomparable to neither a bird, bat, insect or any other flying thing that existed on this earth. It dwarfed all who stood near it, an easy task as those attackers with a weak mental state fell to the ground, gibbering in fear at the creature. Even DarkMist felt his stomach almost empty in sight of it. (OOC: Your character does have a stomach right?) It surveyed the battle field with an alien intelligence before focusing on the supposedly intangible DarkMist. With a speed not befitting such a monstrosity the creature charged, grabbing DarkMist as though he was a physical entity and hoisted him into the air, the Byakhees massive stinger raised above its head and aimed directly at DarkMist. Fyonte: As the Byakhee fell it appeared to flicker, its form disappearing and reappearing like a spectre or badly done illusion before disappearing into the freezing mist. This victory was short lived however, as the creature suddenly emerged from the mist with unprecedented speed and grasped onto the wings of the devastator. Twisted claws shredding the metal skin of the craft as it found its grip. The creature eyed Fyonte with a burning focused rage that seemed to burn away cold, leaving only the hatred this monstrosity felt for Fyonte. And with small wonder, the grenade had worked better then expected, blowing apart much of its head and causing flesh and exoskeleton to peel away from what passed for its chest, revealing many disturbing facts about its anatomy. Such as the fact that most of what Fyonte assumed was its skull remained de-fleshed, of course from the force of the blast yet disturbingly still functional. The nauseating glow of its eyes remained as points of light situated in bloodstained sockets. The creature bellowed a cry filled with pain and rage, an impressive feat considering the fact it now lacked any flesh around its (assumed) spine and swiped razor sharp claws at Fyontes head. Jacob and Franklin: Addonexus, his singular eye darting around feverishly, desperately trying to formulate an exit strategy for his forces only just then noticed Jacob and Franklin. Though the deafening roar of the hail prevented verbal communication Addonexus was able to transmit a message to Franklin.
