Auruiron was lightly strumming his harp along the docks of Celondim. He heard the cast of a fishing net, and noted an Elf nearby. Auruiron sang more softly. Then the Elf came over to him, and they exchanged names. This Elf-hunter could see an ancient-air about Auruiron, and to him he would seem Ancient not only due to his namesake, but due to the number of years. This Elf was from Edhellond, and born in the early Third Age. Now, Auruiron began to open his heart slowly, for the hunter was a curious Elf, and he did not fear Auruiron on the revelation that he was indeed among the Noldor. For the hunter had come to love the ancient histories he had learned from afar, and saw them through a view of wonder and awe. The Truth was revealed at last, and the hunter decided to travel with him, but only after much persuasion on part of Auruiron. For Auruiron had heard news, and there were difficulties occurring in Lake Nenuial. Auruiron remembered the Black Fleet he had seen from his window, and noted their voyage North. Both agreed to meet in Imladris, to seek the advice of Lord Elrond Halfelven the Wise, and thus Auruiron rode off into the sunlight, his flaming-white silken garb flashed, and it seemed to the Elf-hunter that a Star was flying away. However, before he left Lindon, Auruiron turned to see none other than Laurefinde, who he had met so long ago along with his strange Dwarven and Edainic friends. Laurefinde spoke: "Welcome!" Auruiron stared at him with wonder in his eyes, and then learned of the refuge of Laurelin. Auruiron was then informally accepted into the fold, and then, Auruiron apologized to Laurefinde for a soon to be hasty departure. Auruiron then told Laurefinde that there is a journey on which he must embark, and so vanished into the night. Auruiron turned back, and beheld Guldrambor in a vision with a grin upon his face. Guldrambor spoke: "Thou fool! Canst thou not see'st thy end? Thou shalt meet thy Doom in Nenuial, there I shalt wait for thee, and thou wilt suffer!" Auruiron then defied him, and unleashed his inner power, and exited the dream. Then he heard another harp accompanied by a fair voice, and saw none other than Laurefinde. Auruiron can only write their direct conversation: Auruiron: "When we last met, in the deeps so long ago, you told me you have heard a voice upon the wind." Laurefinde: "Yes." Auruiron: "You told me you have heard the words 'Auruiron, friend of Makalaure'." Laurefinde: "Yes, I did." Auruiron: "There is only one who would know this secret, and one alone. You need not hide anything from me any longer." Laurefinde: "No, it was long ago, for I noticed your friendship with him when you crossed the Helcaraxe." Auruiron: "I sense there is even more behind thy speech. For there is only one and one alone who could send his voice upon the wind." Laurefinde: "I notice your friendship even now." Auruiron: "I sense my Affirmation, to show pity unto all, especially Maglor, is coming to fruition." Laurefinde: "He is called Makalaure now." Auruiron: "I will find him." Laurefinde: "He despairs, although he may not show it often." Auruiron: "Yet he may take comfort in the despair of another." Laurefinde: "He must overcome his sorrows." Auruiron: "Eregion and the Fall of Celebrimbor plunged me into despair three thousand years ago, and I remain so to this day." Laurefinde: "Although some have crossed the Sea, many remember the chaos of those days." Auruiron: "My pain cannot be spoken." Laurefinde: "He needs his friends." Auruiron: "He shall find them, or rather, I shall find him." Laurefinde: "You seem to be in need of friends as well." Auruiron: "I have thought of a strategy." Laurefinde: "Yes?" Auruiron: "I was once one of the esteemed historians of Eregion. When Celebrimbor sensed danger, after he sent Celeborn to the South, he sent myself and several others to Hadhorond, which we now call Moria." Laurefinde: "And you came at the last?" Auruiron: "The Elves of Eregion and the Dwarves held tight bonds. Celebrimbor himself had placed the carvings on the Doors of Durin. One need only say 'Mellon', and he could enter. There were Dwarf-Wardens at the time on watch. We came to the Realm two days later. We went to the great libraries of Durin, and the historians there sent word to the King of our plight. There we deposited our histories, and returned. We exited the Realm to find the Enemy's forces advancing. We fled north towards Barad Morlas, and defended it for a time. Then we withdrew with the rest of Lord Elrond's forces. We were then tasked with bringing word to King Gil-galad and Lord Cirdan in Lindon. We escaped in that direction before the Enemy took the High Moors." Laurefinde: "You escaped in time." Auruiron: "Thus, Makalaure and I have both experienced great loss. He with the Siege of Angband, and I with Eregion. If I should bring him back, then it will be time for me to face the Terror of Eregion. I will overcome it with a new-found hope. I long to restore the histories of Eregion to Elvish eyes, and I do not fear the Terror. Then shall we pass through the Darkness, and perhaps beyond. In this way we shall overcome our sorrows." Laurefinde: "I do not think he will want to be found." Auruiron: "I know what to do about this. We historians have studied the Oath of Feanor extensively, and the motivations of his sons. Makalaure did this in rash emotion combined with love for his father, for his House, and for his kindred, the Noldor. I do not think he will hide for long, once he comes to realize how he is disgracing his House." Laurefinde: "He despairs for a reason. He believes his father had no free will." Auruiron: "And yet, even if all things are predetermined, is it not then also fate that has brought us to the deeps, until this moment? Even if the First Music has predetermined all of this, does this not mean that therefore my finding him, and his possible redemption, are also part of the Will of Eru as predestined through the Music?" Laurefinde: "I agree. I am also his friend. I have long cared for him, when I should have forgotten him, and refused to forgive along with all the others. Yet, if I could forgive him, then the Valar can as well?" Auruiron: "There is always Estel." Laurefinde: "Yes there is." Auruiron: "Do you see the Ship on the horizon? I affirmed never to embark upon it until I find him. I am going to the North." Laurefinde: "I wish you good luck." Auruiron: "And where will you go?" Laurefinde: "To my home, I have many projects. Although they say that I reside in Elrond's Library in Imladris. Erestor once caught me taking a book." Auruiron: I will come to Imladris if I am able to, lest the fierce storms of the North force me to return hither to Lindon. Either way, I will come with Makalaure. If not, then I will throw myself into the Sea." Laurefinde: "I wish you good luck." Auruiron (mounting his horse): "Namarie then." Laurefinde: "Farewell." Auruiron: "Farewell." And then he yelled "To the frozen wastes of the North!", and vanished in a flash of light ere his steed sped off into the horizon. Edited by Auruiron, Dec 6 2017, 05:50 PM.
