Unfortunate situation; computer problems

Early this evening while I was on Cotumo growing grain in Hobbiton my computer monitor went black. I am still working on it right now in safe mode but I will be taking it into the shop tomorrow. My laptop is not working so I may not be in game for awhile. I am very sorry about this and I suspect it may be a system problem with Windows or maybe a problem with my graphics card that is affecting how windows loads.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can figure out the problem and it's a simple and low-cost fix.

*wonders if it's stupid to ask a man who says his computers broke if it's fixed yet. How can he answer "no" ?

I had to create a new membership because I couldn't remember my password... I am using my friend's Mac and will keep everyone posted. Both my computers are in the shop right now and I have not heard back from the tech yet. I will let you know if there is a chance I will be on this weekend by using this computer. I hope I don't have to download the game again on either computer!

See you online soon - I hope!

Well now, here is what happened.

Laptop: New hard-drive was bad, lost everything. Unable to get anything off it. Since the hard-drive is not the normal 250 gigs but the larger 500 it has to be ordered and will take some time.

My desktop: Graphics card is done for. Plus need to get a Vista x64 Ultimate OEM due to the fact I can't find the disk I got from the computer builder. So, new upgraded nvida graphics card plus the Operating System also has to be ordered and will take some time.

It's obvious this will be a long wait, maybe a week or more. I am sorry I will miss the cookout. Cotumo has a ton of stuff he grew for cooking and Maka has other ingredients to cook with. I hope we can do another cookout soon because my bags are FULL as is my vault on both Cotumo and Maka! I am having computer withdraws and will miss you all until I can return.

Ouch. That is a real bummer. I've lost enough hard drives in my day to start using an offsite backup service, at least for photos and docs. But video card on the other machine, double ouch! Hope you can get everything running again soon!

My patience is wearing thin... Both my computers are in the shop as you all know but nothing has been done to them yet. No new hard drive, no new graphics card, no new OS... From the speed the tech is going I might be online and downloading the game in a few weeks. So, I borrowed my Mom's computer tonight so I could get online, get my mail and maybe set up messenger. She doesn't use the computer so it is no hardship for her to lend it to me for awhile.

Problem is I had none of my passwords available and fortunately I found an old sheet of paper with some of them. Anyway, there are many things I promised to do but can not get done and I offer my apologies. I hope things are running smoothly in the game and in your friendships.

Ah, Maka, alas that computers were not created along with the dwarves. For then they would be hardy and strong, enduring the worst of ills,

There were a small host of us on last night, had a grand time hunting drakes and trolls in Angmar. You were greatly missed; we all look forward to your return!
