Yes, I am the first to arrive and I hope I won't be the last After considerable debate and suggestions from other kin members I decided we really do need a means to communicate outside of the game so this will be it. You may join this board as many times as you have characters to roleplay, you can use your same email for all. Please use your main character name as your first membership name. Please use the calendar. Please use the shout box. Please come here daily or at least frequently to check the calendar and sign up for events. Please post positive things if you can and treat each other as you would wish to be treated. Who will be next to join and post here? |

*the door bursts open as the red headed dwarf runs into the room* "Pies, that hobbit said there were pies here! I don't see any pie! That rascal Harbspire had best watch out!" Collapsing onto a bench, Petrin is soon wreathed in pipe-smoke, a look of utter contentment on his face. Petrin of the Iron Hills, at your service! |

A woman, weary with travel and care, knocks upon the door. Her bowstring is threadbare, her boots worn paper-thin, her cloak torn and ragged. Yet there is a gleam of pride in her bearing that will not be erased by mere weather or toil. Hello. I am Drusana, a humble daughter of Men. Gildor suggested that I seek "The leaves of Laurelin". Rumor has led me hither and yon these many months, and the last one led me here. Have I found what I seek at long last? And if so, will you accept me? I have no riches to offer, only my undying hatred of trolls, and any who ally with their masters. |

Hullo, everyone. Baldegrim Wildacre here, at your service and your pantry door! I just arrived, after helping the folk of Archet get rid o' them Blackwobbles what was causing all manner of problems. They had to burn down near all of Archet to clean 'em out! I'm worried about that friend of Strider's though -- Amdir? He run off with them Black Men, talking crazy talk. I hope someone can rescue him. Anyway, I was recommended here by that Miss Drusana (ain't that a shame about her children and all, and husband too?). And I've met Grem and Kio and Allysanta and Coe Too Moe and Glorious and I also brung in Vohnkarr, after me and Grem met 'em in the Bird and Baby. Nice pantry you got here. I don' t know about you all, but I'm worn out, my day was that busy, as you can see from the notes I've referenced here. ((Warning... long read)) . Edited by Baldegrim, Oct 1 2010, 02:21 PM.

Great fun. Baldegrim and me will have to close down the Bird and Baby more often. Seems we got outta Archet just in time to find this big shiny elf-house what with a larder and a pantry. Says they built it with a big glowing elf-tree. More poetry, must. I think they're feeding an army there as means there's more than enough room for a few proper gentle-hobbits, what as the elves are always telling history and poetry instead of eating like proper folk. Hope to see you all on the roads as I'm an official Bounder now. Not sure what my ole Dad would think of me consorting with wight elves and such but Ma's always fond of me finding a free meal. Cheers and may your purses be heavy! |

*A tall Elf of Lorien steps into the room, clad in the raiments of an accomplished archer, gold gleaming from his hauberk and quiver. His stature is proud but has a taint of pain about it, as though he had been favoring a limb for too long. He surveys the room, taking measure of all present before speaking* Few of you may know my name if any. I have spent many winters in Middle-Earth, perhaps too many. But my absence from these lands has gone on for too long whilst this war rages unchecked. It has been a long time coming but I have at last returned to Middle-Earth after a long hiatus in Valinar to recover from wounds most grievous. My name is Telepyuldar, my blood is of the Eldar of old. I come to you with good tidings, for the War in the North goes well, though not for my part. *He adjusts his armor a bit near the shoulder, a brief flash of discomfort on his face as he lifts the plate of his hauberk away from the spot for a momentary reprieve.* I am not much for idle chatter but as I am sure you will find I do have a great deal to say in regards to the war and how it fares from day to day. My sword arm is yet not fully recovered but I think you will find that my skills with a bow more than make up for it. My first order of business is to get a proper forge going again that I may hone my not inconsiderable skill with an anvil and begin forging blades of power once more. If anyone here is in need of my skills either in bow or forge I am at your service. I served in the ranks of the skirmishers in the north when this fell business first started to take hold and I would see it through to it's end. I have come to you in hopes of a place to lay my head for a turning whilst I attempt to rekindle old friendships and perhaps forge new ones. If you would have me that is. |

A lean Man of some two score winters enters the Hall, removing an olive-drab cloak from his weary shoulders and setting it alongside a tall staff near the entranceway. "My, the Eldar never cease to amaze me. A beautiful hall you have here." He takes a few moments to look around, never focusing much on one particular thing, before shaking his head. "Forgive me - I seem to have lost touch with my manners. I am Hannas Cenephon, a roving scholar from Bree. I know, I know, a rather Elvish name for a Bree-Lander; My parents spent much time in Rivendell. Anyway, I came here at the behest of one warden - I can't recall his name - who gave quite the account of your general well-being and learned nature. Both appealed to me and, well, here I am! I do hope you'll allow me into your company." |

Edheldae stirs himself from his favorite nook in the shadow of the hearth, leaving a swirl of pipe smoke, scattered notes and an old battered journal on the chair behind him. His long leather boots creak no more than his back. His face is weathered with hair and narrow beard running to silver that catches in the light of numerous candles lighting the hall. He bows deeply to each arrival in turn, an out of date motion reminiscent of a court. Ringed mail peaks from beneath a long traveling coat. "Hail and well met to you both. I am Edheldae son of Meneldae. I am sure I speak for all the unHomed who call this hall their lodging when I say be welcome, most welcome. Light gathers before the coming storm from the north. You are most welcome here." "Hannas, scholars and sharp minds are a great weapon against the power of the North. I had word of your meeting in Bree," Edhdeldae holds up a letter written in a flowing elvish script, "from one of our own, Thalhadron he calls himself." "Telepyuldar, there is an aura to you that gives truth to your words, for it is said the words of the Eldar carry to heart and mind, uplifting both. You may find some that you recognize here from days before. After you have taken your rest I would gladly hear tales of your journeys or days of old for my notes. Sharp weapons come in many forms and you skill at the forge will be equally valued here. Thalhadron is also an elf who pursues creating weapons after the ancient mold. After you are settled, see to the house of our kinsman Dinkum across the stream. There we keep such material that crafters will find useful in pursuing their craft when you prepare to set up your forge." "Please make yourselves at home and know that we keep a larder stocked, a small chest of arms, and traveling garb suited for the harsh roads of this autumn weather." |

Mae govannen, im Merenith. I hail from Taur-nu-Fuin, known to Men as Mirkwood, but I am most recently arrived from Mithlond. where my husband and I were in the service of Hir Cirdan. I have travelled widely in this age, and am destined to travel more before the Shadow is defeated and these shores are safe for those who follow. When that day comes I shall make my last journey, upon the Straight Road; but until then such resources as I may bring to bear are at your service. |

Braxley Greencorn at your service. I was a farmer of Bree-land once, but in these grim times, I feel that Middle-earth needs me to wield a sword rather than a scythe. Still, I hope the day comes when peace returns and I can lay down my arms. Until then, my blade is at your service, as I hope yours will be at mine. |

Welcome Braxley! I had mistakenly thought you an alt of a current member, my apologies. Your Barrows RP musings have been enjoyable to read, though why you polish small barrow stones remains a mystery! |

It wasn't supposed to be particularly mysterious - the character simply enjoys working in fine detail with metals and gems. The one time that this has come up in kin chat so far, Braxley just happened to have passed through the Barrow-downs immediately prior; there's no other special significance to the barrows in this instance. (Apologies for the tangent. Now back to your irregularly scheduled welcoming thread.) |

Le suilon, I am honoured to have been allowed into your halls for a time. Introductions? Pardon my lapse in formalities, I am Hildinyar, descendant of the Teleri of old Ossiriand and wandering lore-keeper among the wilds of this Middle-Earth. I hope to serve the Leaves of Laurelin in good stead and anticipate hearing the tales you have likely accrued during your long journeys. It would be seemly to cease now before I begin to bore all with my ramblings, it is an unfortunate habit... |
