What is going on in here I get back and you guys go crazy. :jiggy:
You mean you missed the finale?

Karen stabbed Bo. Took Dulcinea and caught a bus to the unknown dressed in baggy overalls, hideous jacket/sweater and a bag packed with nothing but seabreeze while Sara McLachlan was heard playing
in the background.

It was very sad.

#True story
Sounds more entertaining than the real season finale.

Ok, if EA reveals it later that there were actually some Bo's worrying Lauren lines but the editing team cut it, I'm gonna throw pipe boom to the LG editing room.
This. Who the fuck edits all this important stuff out. Doesn't EA have any influence over the editing at all?
I'm not sure how much I want to commit to the Gandalf Vs. Sauron narrative that's been gathering itself but... Jay Firestone apparently. Make of that what you will.
 nice comparison. I don't know, I'm loath to villainize JF so completely because I'm not saying that the points people have made in here about how much influence he has are not perfectly (and sadly) valid, but he does seem like a convenient scapegoat sometimes. And after this season, I'm definitely disappointed in the writers, because there was just so much bad writing. Maybe it was a case of 'too many cooks' because the writers had to accommodate so many orders from higher ups, but I don't know, surely pacing and characterization could still have been done better?

That's the thing, I think it's too tempting to make him a singular scapegoat for it to be that simple.

But on the other hand... I mean, a lot of the shit I've found myself yelling about does seem to keep coming back to him, there's no getting around it.

I'm assuming it's JF that has the final say. Relationship stuff takes a back seat to plot when they put the final touches to the finished product. We know in the SyFy edits that Lauren/Bo stuff appears to go along with Kenzi's best lines and DyBo stays.

We know that in wedding dress scene a line about Lauren was cut. We know the body swap ep a line about Bo worrying about running into Lauren was cut.

It's actually something that's come from somewhere official. They were trying to reassure people about the armporn cuts, and responded to the effect that "Hey, it's not SyFy making these cuts, it's Jay!"

Which... was less reassuring than I think they intended.

I remember at one of the Lost Girl panels last year before Season 3 started filming when JF mentioned the new female character (Tamsin) they were going to hire, and AS said "I asked him if she was prettier than me, and all he said was "we haven't hired her yet" and then I said "Wrong answer."

I thought that was funny.

Sadly we have to wait another 8 months to find out in S6. Trick never returned from Scotland so we're not sure what he said to Dulcinea. Everything is vague at this point. Not even sure why Karen stabbed Bo in the first place.

Please help remind me to stay away from the Showcase Blog. It's become a clusterbomb of giant moron proportions. My favorite troll finally made it to the party.

Gotta say, I think Taft was an easier target when he was human and I think Aoife would agree. If Lauren was on the team's side, it would have made a lot more sense for her to not go through with it and it would have made even more sense for her to kill Taft during the surgery. Making fae wasn't helping, it was her own agenda--either to save her own hide or sate her scientific curiosity. Bo was wary of fae Taft. He almost stabbed her and did stab Aoife, he was a THREAT, not a cuddly inept human.

There's actually nothing but wishful thinking to support that Lauren was lying to Bo. Taft couldn't see her face, she could have indicated something to Bo--given her a wink anything, she didn't. And don't forget, Bo wasn't captured, she came in the compound purposefully with Tamsin, with a plan. Lauren didn't join that plan and she didn't secure Bo's freedom (Bo went straight to the cells)--she just went along with Taft.

It just seems weird that the 'showrunner' whose 'vision' it's supposed to be doesn't really seem to get a say on what the final product actually looks like, because a few words cut here and there can make such a massive difference. I guess I'm just used to watching TV shows where the creators are as 'auteur'-ish as a TV writer can probably be - they have a team of writers and editors and are subject to restrictions from higher-ups of course, but they have great rein of freedom and creative control.

Cabbit. It's not really a fae so much as a cryptid. Probably why so many people are wondering what the hell he was supposed to be.

Don't forget that can of haggis that Trick and Stella sent to Kenzi from Scotland. She was so hungry that night and OMG did the poor girl get sick! Then, someone tracked Karen down and she came back to help Kenzi recover (just as she did with the foot soup that one time). Kenzi will never ever trust Trick again, free drinks or not.

It's Buffy, after killing Angel. She's had one last look at her friends from a safe distance, and now she's heading for the bus to leave town in the Dungarees of Penance, because she can't bear what she's had to do.

'Cause Lauren sort of did what Buffy did to Angel, in a more figurative sense. She had to sacrifice Bo's trust to save the day.

I like it. What's funny is I can see someone coming across it thinking it's some sort of spoiler and will assume Karen actually stabs Bo. The rumor will spread all over twitter and EA will get hounded with "Don't kill Bo" and "Zoie's/Lauren/Karen's leaving the show?"
