V/A "Lovedolls Superstar" w/ Redd Kross, Sonic Youth, 'Flag, Meat Puppets, DK's....
Thickest cover I've ever seen on any SST release but with a shitass pressing that sounds like it was made underwater. Highlights are the Anarchy 6 track and Meat Puppets covering "No Values". Bummer in that I've never seen "Lovedolls Superstar" and the lyrics to the theme give the plot of the movie away, I think. Who has "Desperate Teenage Lovedolls" on DVD? Let's party and watch it sometime.

Hangnail/Sound Like Shit split 12" - Picked this one up to cross off the Clevo checklist. Hangnail is has the guy that's in Bombuilder/Space Dokkers and the last 9 Shocks drummer. Not bad! Sound Like Shit is some boring 90's "Fastcore" from Japan. Didn't really hold my attention.

Poison Idea "Just to Get Away/Kick out the Jams" picture disc. - As heard in "Pump Up the Volume"! The A side has Jerry A sitting shotgun in a car that is peeling out. This may be the coolest PI imagery ever, save for the cover of "We Must Burn". The b-side is a MC5 cover.

I like how you put all those heavy hitters in there and then tried to sneak in Anti Nowhere League. You are the consummate salesman. Got any Toy Dolls or 999?

ANL rules, we are the league... is such a solid album. i saw them in Austin last time i was down there

999 are never in short supply

toy dolls never come in, and they are not in the same category as 999, they are actually good

I was being persnickety about ANL.

You could never convince me otherwise about Toy Dolls. Having to listen to their cover of "Livin' la Vida Loca" while hanging drywall in the old practice space was torture.

And, as we discussed, 999 just fucking suck.

The only things I've bought of note lately are the first Specials LP and a first pressing of Germ Free Adolescents that seemed to be unplayed before I got it. Both great records, though.

V/A "Songs About Drinking" 2 x lp - I tried ordering this record when I was in 8th grade and made the rookie mistake of making a postal money order out to the label, not the dude. My money order got sent back and I must have spent the money on something else. Lo and behold, a copy showed up, still sealed mind you, at the record store in my neighborhood yesterday. I bought it, cracked the seal and seeing as how the only bands I recognized were Less Than Jake and the Nobodys, haven't listened to it yet.

I'm waiting on a possible GEMM bargain to be confirmed as well. Nothing too Kraazy, but don't want any internet blabber mouthing to ruin a good thing.

Leatherface "Not Superstituous" 12" for the most agreeable of sum of $10.65 on the way!

Still haven't heard the Nobodys. I think they might have played the Christ on Parade show I went to but I didn't see any openers.
