World at War Map Pack 2

Treyarch announced today that they are creating another new Map Pack for Call of Duty: World at War. The release date is expected to be in June, and the price will be the same as all of the others: 800 Microsoft points. After the first map pack sold over 1 million copies in its first week on the marketplace, this follow-up comes as no surprise. There has been some information released, and, as I did with my previous preview, I will provide the solid facts, along with my predictions, which proved to be surprisingly accurate last time.

Banzai- This map, as you may expect from the name, will take place on the Pacific Front. The details that have been released say that it will be in a jungle setting, with a river and waterfall in it. Along with that comes hidden caves. There will more than likely be a river running down the middle, and dividing the map. What we can expect is a large map, similar to Cliffside. Major differences between Banzai and Cliffside will probably be more natural cover (trees, dense grass, rocks), and the bunkers will be replaced with hidden caves. Judging from the setting of this map, we can assume that it will be on the large side, and will be in daylight.

Corrosion- This map will be on the Eastern Front. It is going to take place in a derelict train yard. Since train yards are usually elongated in construction, we can safely assume that this map will be similar to, but larger than, Station. The old train cars will probably provide cover, as well as slots that will be useful in sniping situation. This map will also most likely take place during the daytime. It seems Treyarch is making very few (with one exception) night setting maps after Makin became disliked by many gamers.

Sub Pens- Sub Pens is a map that takes place just where it says it does, in a Submarine base. As the Eastern Front had no place for naval conflicts, we know that this is another map that takes place on the Pacific Front. As it is a submarine base, we can assume that the base is Japanese, and will have water, but you probably will not be able to get into it. The map will have a largely interior setting, with only about half of it taking place outside. The interiors will more than likely be like the Japanese bunkers that we have seen in the past. The weather on this map will always be rain, which ensures a relatively low-light setting, possibly a night setting.

Shi No Numa- Shi No Numa, which essentially means "Zombie Swamp", will be the next new map, and, as the name implies, it will be a Zombies mode map. Judging by the name, this may be the very first Zombie map that takes place on the Pacific Front, but that may not be the case, as the game mode is called "Nazi Zombies." The few features that have been mentioned are quite puzzling, other than the return of the Perk Machines. The features that have been announced are: ten new achievements, "flaming hell hounds", and something called a Wunderwaffe DG-2. Interestingly, Wunderwaffe translates to "miracle weapon", which means it will be a new weapon that may even outclass the Ray Gun. As for "flaming hell hounds", we may just have zombie dogs coming...One thing is for sure, this will be the most interesting of all the new maps.
