you and Zeta will be up for that one I'm thinking. I'll try to start some polls tonight when I get off work in a couple hours(on break at the mo) and we can get started on awards. Statistic awards obviously can't be voted on so I'll go ahead and post those once I make sure all the stats are error free(still looking for info on Goligoski, I know he's not right, Phillys error(s) will be fixed after work too)

first poll is up. Looking for some nominees for the other awards. How about the hart, vezina, and calder trophies first. who should be in the voting for those?

my picks are

Hart - Zetterberg, Heatley, Hossa

Vezina - Backstrom, Lundqvist, Ward

Calder - Duchene, Hedman, Tavares

I'd nominate Kopitar over Heatley to be honest, he was the reason Sic stayed in the playoff hunt while Heatley had support in Iginla. Or over Hossa.

Calder and Vezina are fine.

If we're doing these, might as well nominate the Norris too:

Kaberale, Boyle, Burns? I think those are 3 of the highest scoring dmen anyways.

I figure each category should have 3-5 nominations. And I feel a guy getting support from other players is more something for voting decision than nomination decision. I'd nominate Heatley, but I wouldn't vote for him even if I could.

Vezina
Henrik Lundqvist: 31 - 11 - 4
Cam Ward: 30 - 12 - 5
Roberto Luongo: 30 - 15 - 3
Ryan Miller: 26 - 12 - 6
N Backstrom: potential underdog nomination

Hart:
Kopitar/Heatley/Zetterberg/Hossa/Carter/Frolov

I figure from that 6 we can end up with 3-4 nominees, each with their own flaws. Kopitar has likely played a fair bit more than 48 games. Heatley and Hossa had guys like Iginla and Malkin who could also garner consideration (Hossa was also traded). Carter helped Philly, but he was inconsistent and Thomas/Savard could be made the case for Philly's nod if anyone. Frolov played really well on each team he was on, and helped me and Bizzle really have good mid/final season runs.
I'd take Heatley/Zetterberg/Hossa/ and either Carter or Frolov myself as the nods.

Norris Trophy
CHI - Doughty/Markov
PHI - Burns
SJ - Beauchemin
COL - Regehr
WSH - E Johnson/T Enstrom
DET - T Kaberle/ B McCabe
PIT - V Hedman/D Boyle

Again, taking 4-5 from this list I'd go Doughty, Burns, Beauchemin, then 2 of E Johnson/Kaberle/Boyle (Hedman gets Calder nod). Figure if we end up with vote split between 2-3, then we just make it a smaller vote.

Calder
Matt Duchene/Viktor Hedman/John Tavares

alright lets do one of the fun ones. We need some nominee's for the best(or worst depending on your view) lowball offers of the season.

Edit: One of the worst offer I had was this one...

Datsyuk - Yip - WAS 1st for Thornton - Svatos - Macachek

I'd say 4 nominations. Zetterberg, Kopitar, Heatley, and Hossa. Each have their obvious reasons for being there, and each have their obvious faults come voting. Should be a close race for anyone.
