Hehe .. we usually don't have HW here in germany, but guess what..that commerzialized undustrie of food, masQuerade and all who benefit in money, brought us that happy halloween. So we have for some years now strange kids runnin down the streets, trick-or-treat'n the whole neighborhood without any knowledge about Samhain and what the fuck this holiday is about. Don't matter, let's get candy or piss in car's air intakes, throw wet toiletpaper on walls and else.. ever had toothpaste in your mailbox? Serious, I respect every culture and its holidays, which are mostly fun in their countries, but why the fuck must we now copy them? Is it not enough to loose the Christkind and St. Niklaus? I iknow you americans out there love your Santa Claus, but for sure! This guy is called Sankt Nikolaus, and comes on December, the 6th! His own personal holiday. For hundreds and hundreds of years, since bishop Niklaus was spoken to a holy man by the church in Rome, and now a Company called Coca-Cola comes, a Newspaper and the goooooood old "its good lets copycat!"-moneyfying of Christian Holydays rolls over Europe, bringing us a Santa Claus, lets forget our own culture. This was years before, now for some years we do the same with halloween. You can find all kind of pumpkins here, pre-designed cakes with pumkin faces and jack-o-lanterns in every store. Even Seniors living in our small village, who do not know shit about what the hell Helloween means and wants and is, are treated by doomed damned little freaky dumbass kids, they just want candies by all means, "You don't know Halloween? Fuck! Give me candy, I don't care!". Don't misunderstand me, I like the idea, I don't have anything against foreign cultures - but I dislike it if we must copy all that and live with that if we want or not. Happy halloween, brought to you by a german, who not had a peaceful evening yesterday because of a holiday which just don't exist here. How strange. |

roflmao... man, your kids are gonna LUV that explanation -hahaha- I'm playn- I know exactly what you mean threep, not only has the meaning been completely sucked from it's intent and lost forever to a bunch of kids screaming "gimme candy!" as most holidays here have, it has taken on new meaning in the eyes of multi billion dollar corporations as another pay day (again, as most holidays have) so I do believe, that it being introduced to other countries is just another way to post an invasion from your friendly neighborhood capitalist pig bank owner who just lives for random attacks on the "helpless" media driven souls, under his control, who "buy! buy! buy!" and fatten his pockets to astronomical proportions even while I was doing my rounds with my lil 1, you could easily see how the spirit of it all has diminished over the years... there were less houses taking part than ever- and some might say it because of the economic crunch, but we all know that's a load of shit - the spirit of things has been commercialized and pushed to the limits, and as a result, is dying- it's suffocating itself in sloth and greed and choking on the very candy, decorations and costumes it's required to consume each year however... it was awesome to hit this one nice sized neighborhood where just about every house was decked out in tombstones, spiderwebs, pumpkins, flashing strobe lights, "fog" and spooky music - almost every resident had their garage open, and the whole family was dressed up, chilln in the driveway handn out candy to all the passer byes - we even got greeted by this big ass dude in dirty overalls wearing a "micheal" mask that was chasing random kids down the street with a running chainsaw... it was fuckn great lol- I loved it just as much as my kid did ;) |

Happy Halloween from a guy who found this morning his car covered by flour, with a terrible smell inside, with wipers lifted from the windscreen and covered by metal paper, and a brand new scratch near the gas cap.... Really, happy Halloween....I fuckin totally agree with Threep, this party should remain exclusive to the Americans, since here in Italy it means totally different things....it should actually be a day to commemorate the dead people we loved, like our grandparents, friends, etc, not a day to disrespect someone else's property... I hate it... PS: happy birthday Charger ;) |
