Nah.....

idk man :P
maybe they will remodel some wrongly made cars in FM5
I have seen the Vanquish in that game, and that is slightly better than the one in Horizon (they seems to just changed a few texture on it tho, at least they are changing something on the old mesh)

well, im agree with the fact that now more kidz just dont give a fuck about the details on sills or engine, or the amount of work we put on making these stuff, but i would say why not dont give a fuck on them either, after all we are just making a car for my own sake, they dont care, so i just dont release the thing to them, fair

i wont put a hate on the fully 3D models from FM5 autovista, it's gd it looks cool, i wont mind having those kidz converting them, and until now, i cant see any gd autovista car mods around the net that made by those kidz, except the few made by the ppl in here  it still takes skills to convert ;)

And when was the last scratch mod released? I mean 100% scratch, and not some re-convert form SA.

You guys are complaining about these meshes being recycled, and at the same time complaining that these same meshes will "kill real modders" and make it easy for "kids" to make mods.
But it seems to me that modders capable of scratch work don't have the time or disposition to do so. Every competition has ended up in smoke, and most projects have been abandoned. So how the hell is that better? :(

In fact, every competion has failed because people dont give a care about scratch anymore since they now have full hq meshes to play with!
Back then, you were capable to distinguish real modder by the quality of their work and the effort made on turn shitty cars on something good or by making them themselves. And now? Why scratch when you have a fully modeled car within reach?
Imo, most people these days are not modders, they are converters, thats all!

Excuse me but where are these "full hq meshes" you're talking about? Surely you don't mean Forza 4... A couple of unusable Autovista models don't mean squat.
So yeah, there still IS a need for scratch modeling the engine, boot, sills and underbody. And not all of our competitions were 100% scratch, most required just that. So why did people drop out?

Back then, you were capable to distinguish real modder by the quality of their work and the effort made on turn shitty cars on something good or by making them themselves.
Back then the expected polycount was also lower. Most of those good scratch models are the equivalent of Forza LOD1 or maybe lower. It may have worked for SA back in 2005, but not by today's standards.
And you're probably gonna say polycount doesn't matter. Yes it fucking does. Not as far as Autovista goes, but it does.
And the problem is that having a higher polycount means you need to add all the small details, making it harder to scratch model something.

I agree, but:
1. You are underestimating the effort it takes to make a proper conversion.
2. What's wrong with being a converter? As I said before, if the mesh is good it doesn't freaking matter where it comes from, scratch or imported. Making the model fully usable with all game features and with proper material and handling settings is just as important as the mesh quality.

well, most of the active member in here are interested in scratching details, that's the one fact that they are being here, and from what i saw the last few competitions, the failure is always be the submission, all ppl have a great progress but after all they just CANT make it in time
[losing the files, not yet finished, and given up cuz their works, their other works and simply no reasons <- maybe.. :P ]

so basically, "people dont give a care about scratch" is definitely not the main of why every competition has failed [I....guess so :P lol]
Every competition we have ever held has a gd opening tho lol

yup, I would love an Autovista R34 :D Not necessarily for converting, but to look at it. Chances that I will ever own a real GT-R R34 (GT-T may be possible) are close to 0 :/ So a virtual one will have to do.

niki lauda's ferrari and james hunt's mclaren, such beautiful beasts .. but makes total sense to shove these into forza .. instead of the actual F1 2013 game

well snap the ferrari actually is in the classic edition of that game, so nvm :D

Do you think the models in Forza/3/4/Horizon will be reused? I'm also wondering if the lod0 models will become more detailed. From what I can tell the reflections have been improved the most. And I'm crossing my fingers that they will include a '71 Chevelle, although I doubt it because they have the '70 already. I hope they also include adjustable wheel offsets and matte paint and reintroduce FM3's part brands.
Common sense also tells me that Xbox live will become even more expensive.

Don't know if I'm right, but it looks like you can see the engine through the hood vents on the Shelby GT500. I can't remember seeing this on the FM3/FM4 GT500.

Could be that they made it an Autovista model.

Every car will have an Autovista model, at least that's what they said in an interview.

But I think Sky is talking about the in-race model, which is either LOD0 or LOD1.

I really never cared for Autovista, but at least every car will have door sills and a 3d engine now.
